This is my second book by this author and I dragged my feet on this one. The first one I read was a bit corny and a silly not totally believable romance, still likable just didn't make me love the author.
So when I started this one , I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was! The character development and small secrets revealed were very well done, with a completely believable romance(s) that left me feeling complete!
Loved, loved loved this story! The narration was flawless and sucked me right in!
Recommended for all fans of romance , new adult and contemporary stories
thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.
Prepare a box of tissues, prepare your heart and prepare your brain before embarking on this completely heartbreaking and beautiful read. This was my first by @sarahready and it will not be my last. She is a master storytellers, has a way with words and the way she crafted this story was PERFECTION!
This book completely rocked me. My poor heart. It really touched me deeply, how when you love someone truly you never stop no matter the obstacles. It was such a beautiful love story with twists and turns that will make your jaw drop. I loved that it wasn't predictable. I loved the dual POV from Andi and Jace, we truly got to see deep inside each others thoughts, feelings and life. It truly made me so invested in the story.
Andi and Jace were just beautiful together, beautifully complex characters with their specific problems. Everything wanting to tear them apart. The side characters were also a great addition to the book and do take a big part. They felt so real, true and authentic.
I listened to this one and let me tell you the narrators did a fantastic job with the characterization of Andi and Jace. They kept me interested, completely invested in their love story.
If you're looking for a heart wrenching, deeply moving and beautiful love story. Don't miss out!!

This was an incredibly moving and touching story that I could simply not put down. I listened to this as an audiobook and was completely captivated. Ms. Ready does an amazing job setting the scenes and pulling you into Jace and Andy's world, not to mention the narrators who did a great job of bringing the story and characters to life. Jace and Andy were two characters who I immediately fell in love with and rooted for them throughout the whole story. Despite their drastically different background, they had an instant connection when they met, which was beautiful to see. Theirs is a bittersweet story about finding your soulmate, falling in love, and being torn apart, and what happens in that space between. The story tugged at my heartstrings and put me through a roller coaster of emotions, as I was completely riveted to the story and invested in the outcome. I also liked Jace's relationship with his brothers and friends, and how tight they all were with each other and how they had each other's backs.
The story takes you through many twists and turns and will really pull at your heartstrings. It's a lovely coming of age story and very well-written. The characters were well-developed and the intensity of their love for each other is truly equal parts heartwarming and heartbreaking. Needless to say, I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend!
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I was very much surprised with how much I liked this book after reading a previous novel by Sarah Ready in which I could not even finish. Loved this novel so much, it was well written and full of intrigue. Whenever I felt like it was coming towards a predictable story line, Ready turned it around and went in the opposite direction. An excellent love story which did not take lifes regular path.
I found this to be quite lovely, the narrator did great with giving the emotions of this story. It was a quick listen for me and the plot was enjoyed. I also love the setting being in New York, I can just imagine. The love twist in here had me nail biting. A story of first love, definitely loved this one.

Jace & Andrea (Andy) meet and have an instant connection. They just know they're meant to be together forever. Ahhh first love, you think you'll be together forever and nothing can get in the way.
I'm not a fan of YA romance much these days, but I actually enjoyed this one because it was on the clean side. I thought them losing their virginity to each other was well done.
After they graduate from high school, Andy joins Jace and his brothers as they go on tour. I mostly liked Jace's relationship with this brothers. They are really close due to losing both their parents in a tragic way. But one brother made a selfish choice that changed the course for these love birds.
The story jumps 8 years and Jace & Andy finally see each other again. They've never stopped thinking about each other for all these years. Could this be fate and their second chance? Or did the author give us a heart wrenching twist that'll make you shed a tear or two?
In case you needed one more twist ~ wowza with the culprit of Jace's parents death, I didn't see that coming at all.
Then we have a 5 year jump that ends in the second chance we have been waiting ages and ages and ages for.
Overall, a lovely coming of age story, on the longer side, that'll yank your heartstrings, make you sad and put a smile on your face when it all comes full circle.
Narration notes:
They both did a great job. Their voices sounded perfect for their age.
After not reading any Sarah Ready books, I saw a lot of hype around this book, so I gave it a chance.
I really enjoyed this audiobook. The narrator did have a rather monotonous voice at times, but I enjoyed the plot so much it didn't matter too much.
I have another Ready audiobook on my NetGalley shelf, so I'm really looking forward to it!
Wow! A rollercoaster of emotions in one book, loveable characters and an absolutely beautiful story of love. Brilliant narration in this audio book version.
It took me a bit to get into this one but once I did.... whoa. Watching how the stories of the characters entwined was fascinating and while some twists could be seen coming, there were a few that were absolutely wild. For a book that almost ended up on my dnf pile, this might one of my favorites of hers.

There are parts of me that really enjoyed this book! And there were parts of me that rolled my eyes a lot. I had to suspend my disbelief a LOT. Although I love something sweet and fluffy, I had a hard time believing the chemistry between the two main protagonists. It frustrated me that there were so many miscommunications between them that didn’t feel realistic. Misunderstandings happen, but it got a little ridiculous. I enjoy a love triangle and wish they had explored the third character in the love triangle more. I felt the chemistry between the two of them was more convincing. The pacing was weird and felt somewhat disjointed at times, though the ending, to me, was appropriate and did seem rooted in reality. I do appreciate being provided an audiobook copy of this story! Thank you to Sarah Ready and Netgalley for sharing!
This was a feel good story. Perfect for short drives. Just like a Hallmark movie. A little cliched but nice because of it. I like the depth the author gives to her characters. Even though they are not complex or very layered, she always manages to give them an authentic voice. That is definitely one of her strengths . Liked this
This is now my favorite Sarah Ready book. It was such a beautiful story of love and loss and second chances. I just loved every bit of it. It was full of emotions and depth. I just loved it.
A great story of first love lasting through years, hurt, and finding yourself. This is the story of Andrea and Jace. Andrea is from high society and rich. Jace is from a family of brothers, their parents having died years earlier, in a band, and not husband material according to Andrea's parents. When Jace and Andy meet in the park, it was love at first sight.
When Jace and his band go on tour, Andy goes with them. Then things start to go wrong, and Andy heads back to New York, the prodigal daughter. Then she meets, Reed, a childhood friend, with a secret of his own.
But Jace shows up in New York at times Andy needs him most. After years on the road, and a walk through the park, Jace find Andy, and their life picks up where it should have long before.
I enjoyed this very much. The story had a natural flow, the characters were likeable, and you felt in the happiness and sadness. I would recommend this book to others, I think they would enjoy it.
Thank you Netgalley and W. W. Crown for this advance audio book. 4.5 stars
OH THE ANGST AND AGONY! The Space Between is Sarah Ready's most emotionally immersively and stunning story to date! SO MUCH ANGUISHING LONGING AND MISALIGNMENT! It's a long and painful journey for these two to find their HEA...the proverbial space between is miles long. But Sarah makes the story worth the heartache and challenge.
I've read a few other of Sarah's books, but I must say this is the best of hers I've read. I find each of her books sweetly emotive and profoundly resonant, but in subtle and ligther ways. This book definitely had a heavier, in part because it's a pretty long story told in multiple time periods. Normally that's not my thing to slog too long in past context just to understand the present, but here it really worked. Jace and Andrea have a story that is told in different parts, each almost functions as a complete mini story, starting from many they are teens and spanning many years. The more immersive time in different phases of their complicated love story helps really establish the core of them as characters and their dynamic, from the foundation of their connection to their boarder life ecosystems that make them who they are. These characters are so much more than their love story, and that really plays out on the pages.
There is a lot of angst and heartache here as they are constantly torn apart. At times the agony is beautiful and emotionally affecting, and towards the end I did feel it dragged on a bit too long. But certainly it makes their HEA feel all the more deserved and hard fought. The obstacles are a plenty, and along the way there are some unexpected elements that really surprised me too.
Most of all, I adored both of these characters. In the prior books I've read of Sarah's, I've really found her character writing so deftly wielded. The people on her pages feel tangible, their struggles palpably experienced, and their journeys complexly realized. I enjoyed rooting for Andrea and Jace in this beautiful story. And, the audio was really well done too- pulled me even more into the story. My fav of Sarah Ready!
WOW - I was not ready for this one. I expected this to be a light romantic contemporary and boooooy was I wrong. This was a full on tear jerker. This one hit me right in the feels. I cried several times. There were parts that felt super heavy followed by lots of levity so it felt nice and balanced. Fans of Colleen Hoover will LOVE this one. The style of this and how it is broken into 3 parts reminded me a lot of CoHos style mixed with Taylor Jenkins Reid and really resonated with me. The development of the relationships is so well done. I loved everything about this and thought each page was more perfect than the last. It is so unbelievably emotional and raw at certain parts that it's hard not to get completely wrapped up in the story. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Wow. This book. Wow. What a surprise. I had no idea where this book was going but it was quite a beautiful journey getting there.
This book starts with a chance meeting that leads to a lifetime of chaos, love, and music. Jace and Andrea get serious quickly despite their different backgrounds. This story has amazing characters and family dynamics. The story evolves in such an amazing way I was excited to see how this would end.
When I first picked up this book I had no idea where the story would take us. I thought it would be a cheesy lightweight young love story but this story of first love has beautiful twist and turns. Anyone who has asked themselves what their life would be like if we put out first love first will love the way this story develops. Losing yourself into a relationship and then finding your path with or without them can make a great story.
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this story!
“There's always more to the story.”
I heard The Space Between was jam packed with emotion, and I'm here to tell you it didn't disappoint!
It tells the story of Jace and Andrea, and the rollercoaster of young love, life & loss, and second chances. It took me a minute to get into, but once I did I was hooked and couldn't stop listening. The narrators did a great job at allowing me to FEEL that emotion-something I often struggle with in audiobooks. There was swoon, and steam, and just so much anguish. I was here for it. I must say though-it felt a tad too long. And it felt like every issue was resolved TOO easily. But that middle part. The space between. Gosh it ripped my heart out. Overall, a great read that I think many will enjoy!

I really enjoyed this lovely novel, which I listened to as an audiobook. It was as well narrated as it was well written, and I would recommend it as an audiobook.
The Space Between is a love story, but so much more than that. It is also about friendship, family and grief. Andrea (Andy) and Jace come from totally different worlds. While Andrea’s history is of riches and privilege, she lacked the love and support Jace’s poor family provided him with.
I engaged with them both and wanted them to find fulfilment and happiness. The path they follow was unexpected and this added depth to the story.
With a cast of other likeable, and not so likeable, characters, this isn’t just about Andy and Jace.
I would definitely recommend this lovely book. .
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! What a heartwarming story of overcoming the boundaries of class. It's a tale about how a friendship based on the threads that weave us together rather than the surface expectations of who the world thinks you are based on your family and your position in the world can lead to finding who you are meant to be. It's heartbreaking how a purposed miscommunication causes a decades worth of loneliness and missed love, but that lost time makes it all that much sweeter when the worlds collide again. What's meant to be is meant to be. Touching, heart-felt and nuance, all rolled into one sweet, romantic story.
