WOW - What a heart-warming and moving story! A book I didn't know I needed. I could not put this book down. It gave me all the emotions, in the best way. This novel is separated into sections, over many years, following the journey between Andrea and Jace. Lots of love, loss, betrayal, arguments and growth. Without any spoilers, Andrea and Jace's love comes back together in a beautiful ending.
Big thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this title to review.
Highly recommend this book!
I really enjoyed the overall storyline of this book. It was a "page turner" with love, loss and a story line that made you wonder what would come next. I enjoyed the narration and felt that it was easy to listen to.
sarah ready just knows how to write a book i’ll love! 5 stars !
already reading the synopsis, i was so excited about all the tropes in this book. i was truly not disappointed either! i love time skips and second chances and the emotional twists and turns you take with this one really just tugged you in ways you wouldn’t expect. i probably will never be able to stop raving about this one.
andrea and jace’s story is one you want to work out and knowing that it takes them so long to find their way to one another again, just draws more anxiety but a good kind. i was absolutely thrilled to read it all.
the narration from both made the book even better and is probably why i am so confident in giving it 5 stars. they were wonderful and added so much emotion to book’s already emotional plot.
ready was able to write a romance with so many wonderful characters that you love and make it so hard not to love. i found myself wanting to hate a certain character but ready has proven her ability to write characters who are ultimately good with the best intentions.
thank you netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in return for an honest review.
**My ABOSLUTE fave read so far in 2023!!**
This is the most unpredictable love story ever, I have been on a complete roller coaster of emotions!!
My first Sarah Ready novel was very recent "The French Holiday" which was a completely different style to this, that being my classic romcom fun chick lit go to. However this book was miles apart and threw me! Obviously I immediately fell in love with the characters Andi and Jace. as they began what I thought was a predictable Romeo and Juliet style romance. How wrong I was! So many twists and turns and varying degrees of class clashes and varieties of love and commitments, i could not stop listening!! This book literally made me shout out "noooooooo!!" so many times I must have looked like a right weirdo walking down the street with my headphones in!! haha...
If only we could all really find that love and forgiveness and hope and empathy, the world would be a lovelier place.
Narration was superb and being visually impaired it is vital to have such connection with the characters to bring the audiobook to life!!
Loved Sarah Readys' The Space Between." It will stay with me for a long time!! Thoroughly recommend!
I am now hooked and looking out for my next read!
Thank you #SarahReady #NetGalley #AudioBookEditors & the narrators for allowing me to listen to this advance copy of this #ARC
A story about love and loss in all of its forms. From young love, to familial love to deep passionate love this book covers it all and does so well. The pace is varied, moving quickly at times and slowly at others, much like life. I enjoyed the story and the character development and was able to get lost in it, even if it was a little cliche. Would definitely recommend this one!
Wow, The Space Between by Sarah Ready is incredible! I fell hard for Jace and Andrea and could not stop listening because I needed to know what happened next. This book is full of emotion, found family, redemption, and the power of love. The story was so unique and refreshing. The Space Between will be one of my favorite romances of this year! Also, Sarah Ready is now an auto-buy author for me. I love the books she writes! This is the second book I've read, and I will start a third of hers soon!
All this to say, read The Space Between NOW, do not wait!
"The Space Between" exemplifies Sarah Ready's remarkable versatility in crafting stories that linger in the minds and hearts of her readers. While "French Holiday" brought its charm and feel-good aura, "The Space Between" delves into a tapestry of missed opportunities, second chances, and pages that gently mend and reshape a reader's emotions.
Andi and Jace's journey began as teenagers in love. Jace and his brothers had a rare chance to make their dreams come true and Andi decided to stay by their side. As life unfolded, they encountered unexpected turns which led them to separate paths. However, the passage of years didn't change their shared heartbeat, though fate intervened again. They reconnected, only to part once more due to Andi's promise to someone. Time continued its march, offering yet another shot at love. Could this finally be their forever and always?
Meeting Jace, Andi, and Reid within these pages was an utter delight. Having experienced the e-copy and the audiobook, narrated brilliantly by James Fouhey and Rachel F. Hirsch, enhanced the experience. Their measured, soothing voices breathed life into Andi and Jace, guiding them toward their heartwarming happily ever after.
The plotline of "The Space Between" is one I anticipate will stay etched in my memory. It strikes a balance between uniqueness and heartfelt realism. What's intriguing is how my feelings shifted as I progressed through the story—initially drawn to Jace and distant from Reid, only to make an about-face during the second part. This narrative evolution left me empathizing deeply with Reid. While I appreciated the main characters' ending, there was a part of me that secretly wished it had been Reid, simply because he, too, was wonderfully imperfect.
Within its pages, this book encapsulates missed and reclaimed chances, forgiveness, and a hope-laden outlook on the future. It serves as a reminder to live fully, to embrace love, and to fan the flames of one's passions. It mirrors life's essence: a journey rich with "Uh ohs" rather than "What ifs?"
Sarah Ready deftly conveys her message through an emotionally charged story, woven around remarkable characters. Tears flowed freely during certain chapters, and as you delve into this book, you'll likely recognize the moments that evoked this response. However, these poignant moments only contribute to the reasons readers will hold "The Space Between" dear.
With this being my second encounter with Sarah Ready's work, I am convinced it won't be my last. I wholeheartedly recommend "The Space Between" to those seeking an emotionally resonant literary experience.
I was expecting something similar to French Holiday when I started reading The Space Between. Funny and light. What I got was an emotional journey I wasn’t prepared for! The story follows Jace and Andrea who grow together but eventually fall apart. Coming from different worlds, I think the reader expects that to happen. Ready writes in such a way that you can feel all their emotions. I listened to the audiobook and I felt like I was going through the emotions with the main characters. The narrators did a beautiful job!
Although I expected a romantic comedy after having read French Holiday, I was pleasantly surprised with The Space Between. This one will most definitely make you cry., because you’ll be heartbroken. But then it’s also an incredibly heartwarming story with hope and forgiveness. You definitely feel the love between Andrea and Jace.
Thank you so much Netgalley and publisher for providing me with an advance copy of the audiobook.
I ended up putting this audiobook down at 32%, not from any fault of the writing or narrators.
When I started I was expecting an adult romance so it threw me off to be following teenagers, looking back at NetGalley I see now that is categorized as New Adult. I struggle to enjoy reading from younger POVs, especially romances and that was the case here.
Overall I would say the writing was good and I was really enjoying the narration but I just wasn’t connecting to the characters in the way that I want or expect to in a romance. When I wasn’t listening I had no urge or motivation to get back to the story. Though, I would still try other books by Sarah Ready in the future.
Thank you to NetGalley, Sarah Ready, and the publisher for the opportunity of listening to this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
I LOVED this! This gave me Daisy Jones vibes, but was sweet and heartwarming in its own way. The book jumps between Jace and Andi. Jace is a guitarist from the Bronx who hasn't had it easy in life. Andi is from a very wealthy family who feels as though she's a chess-piece in her family games. Once Jace and Andi meet, their worlds change completely, but nothing is as simple as it should be.
I loved that we got a closer look at both of these characters due to the switching in POV. I was rooting for them and their love story throughout this book. It truly was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster.
This was a brilliant listen and the narrators were great. Although it was relatively long, it didn't feel like it at all!
I loved this romance novel by Sarah Ready! It's the first of her books I've read, and I'll definitely be reading more. This story is written in 3 parts, and follows two people from completely different worlds, Jace & Andrea, who meet as teenagers and quickly fall in love. A story of love, deception, heartbreak, grief & hope, I was totally immersed in their world - my heart was broken & stitched back together multiple times - have your tissues at the ready! Just when I thought I had it all worked out, there would be another twist - a couple of which I didn't see coming at all. I really enjoyed the narrators, they captured the characters & their emotions perfectly.
Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for an advance copy of the Audiobook.
This had so many things I hate and yet I enjoyed every minute of it. Both audio narrators were fantastic and really drew you in.
This was a wild soap opera of a ride.
I started off cringing over the insta love but they were teens and teens are dumb so I let that slide. I really really enjoyed the practicality of her dad pointing out that if she left she wouldn't have health insurance and what if she got sick. If there was ever a reason that would give you pause, that's one.
Up until the end of the first part it was very real and grounded, no melodrama.
But then once things started happening everything did. Between the attempted rape, the car crash, the cheating misunderstanding, there was so much. Then we jump to part two and so much more. This is what I mean by wild. Sarah Ready honestly has a gift because I should have hated all that and instead loved it.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the audio arc.
I am in awe and quite unconvinced that I have only read one plot. In general, it felt like a long time passed to cover the plot and that there were mini-stories along it but it was unexpectedly easy to follow. I read this while listening to the audiobook as well, and the words are just beautiful - fully immersing me in the story.
True enough — there were an awful LOT of emotions unpacked from start to end of this love story! I fell in love along with the young Jace and Andi, then felt betrayed when their first crisis happened and despondent when it was not resolved right away. There was hopelessness but there has also been recovery.
Just when it gets better with the character development of Reid (I have to mention him 🥹), another hurdle drops! I fell for this new version of Reid. It was not desperate. It felt too selfless.
I thought that was it. Then another revelation unfolds about the death of Jace’s parents. I DID NOT EXPECT MY HEARTSTRINGS TO BE PLAYED AT LIKE THIS!!! I’m both mind-blown and heartbroken!!!
The whole plot seemingly presented the different kinds and levels of love. Ultimately, it made me think that perhaps, we live and love in the best and earnest way we know how, then hope that the Universe returns the same intensity.
I loved this read!
I can't even. I don't even know what to say right now. This is one of the best books I've listened to in a very long time! I legit told my newlywed husband to go make himself busy because I just needed to know what happens. I've never wanted a book to end quickly but I was eagerly anticipating the end of this book to see what happens. The book had me hooked from the beginning and I couldn't stop listening.
It was a heart warming story. The book goes through many years of longing and love and what can happen if you just hold on. I absolutely loved the book. There were definitely WTF moments where you just want to shake the characters. However, it all came together in the end and just when you think its over, it keeps going and you're so glad it does. The ending is amazing! I absolutely loved this book!
I've never read anything by Sarah Ready before, but I will be going out to find more of this author.
The narration was fantastic! I loved both James Fouhey and Rachel Hirsch in this audiobook.
Thank you to W. W. Crown and NetGalley for providing me with an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I have always loved second chance romances and this is truly a very great love story. I cried while listening to this audiobook at work lol I like how the authors manage to express Jace's frustration towards his brothers during the time Jace and Andrea were apart. I also like how Andrea still commits to Reed even after Jace came back. But anyways Jace and Andrea were really meant to be together.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC. I really love it.
The Space Between is an emotional roller coaster of love, heartache, miscommunication, family, pain and never giving up. Andrea (Andi) and Jace are very different people but fell so mady in love instantly, at the beginning of the story I just couldn't imagine how they would seperate. But I was then taken on a journey of their lives, including what went right and what went wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey and had all the feels.
I listened to the audio version which was narrated by James Fouhey and Rachel F. Hirsch. I really enjoyed the experience.
#TheSpaceBetween ! Ahhh this book was filled with so many emotions, I laughed, I cried, and smiled so much! I’m so glad I was able to review this, definitely a feel good story . The main characters plot was planned out amazing!
The Space Between is an amazing love story. At first, I thought this was just another young love, caught on the wrong side of the tracks story and I found myself wondering why so many stories seem to focus on young love. This story is so much more than that and I absolutely loved the journey the author took us on. A few tears were shed and the little twists that are thrown in are just perfect.
This is a great romance novel.
The Space Between by Sarah Ready is a very emotional second chance romance between Andrea "Andi" Leighton-Hughes and Jace Morgan.
Andrea Leighton-Hughes, a wealthy Upper East Sider, befriends Jace Morgan, who is a musical prodigy from the Bronx. They come from two different worlds and are dealing with their own demons as they go through their teenage years. Andi struggles with the high pressure and expectations of her world and finds that she can only be her true self around Jace. Their friendship blossoms into love.
As Jace and Andrea struggle to stay together and prove that love defeats all obstacles, life sets out to prove them wrong. What happens when two people promise forever, but life tears them apart? What happens in the time they aren’t together—in the space between?
Firstly, thank you so much to the author, Sarah Ready, Netgalley, and the publishers for giving me a copy of the audiobook, and the book, in exchange for an honest review.
This book was such a roller coaster ride!!! Lucky for the author, I LOVE roller coasters!
This book follows the story of Jace and Andi from when they first met in high school through their adulthood. The story focuses on how despite years in between and against all odds, people who are meant for each other will overcome all obstacles that prevents them from being together. The characters are very well developed and the plot is not at all predictable. Their experiences in life are very relatable and realistic.
I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy Jill Santopolo, Rebecca Serle, and Josie Silver.
I really enjoyed this love story. It took a while for me to become invested, but about halfway through I didn't want to put it down and couldn't stop thinking about it. This book had my emotions all over the place. I was so angry at some of the characters and sad about certain events. I was really glad that Ready chose not to take the easy route of typical rock star behavior being the root of all issues in the story. There were a couple of minor issues I had with the story that I couldn't reconcile, but I can suspend my disbelief enough to enjoy it for what it is - A story of love, loss, family, and life.
I listened to the audiobook, narrated by James Fouhey & Rachel F. Hirsch. It was a great listening experience.
