Wow, I loved this so much. I adore a good cry book and this one had me grabbing the tissues multiple times. It was so so good! All of the emotions throughout had me eager to know how it would play out. Adored the writing. I read with a little group of girls who also received the arc and we all loved it. Highly recommend 5 stars. Thank you to W. W. Crown and NetGalley for allowing me to listen to the audio for an honest review.
This has great reviews on Goodreads! #thespacebetween by #sarahready read by #rachelfhirsch & #jamesfouhey #epiclovestory #myeyespreferaudiobooks🎧 #accessiblebooks #netgalley #wwcrownaudiobook
This was my first Sarah Ready book and it did not disappoint! This romance was sweet to read and brought out a lot of emotion. The ups and downs, twists and turns of Jace and Andi’s love story was unputdownable for me and left me thinking about them after I finished.
This book was such an adorable story from start to finish. I am so thankful to be able to receive this ARC book!!!
This book follows Jace and Andrea's crazy romantic journey and how they found each other despite everything that went wrong.
This was an emotional and heartfelt novel that began with a broken guitar. This book showed us that when two souls were meant to be together their lives will always cross one way or another.
The constant miscommunication and family issues kept Jace and Andrea from reaching their "happy ever after". The small plot twist spread through the novel had you yelling at the book to try to keep the two together.
I loved every second of this book because you never know what will happen next and the ending gave you peace of mind of the questionable events that happened earlier in the book.
I would definitely be recommending this romantic novel to my friends and family.
"What happens when two people promise forever, but life tears them apart? What happens in the time they aren't together-the space between?"
The Space Between by Sarah Ready is a masterpiece of a novel about true love, and those times when it is not enough. Jace and Andy's love journey is a whirlwind of emotions, it is beautiful and heartbreaking. From the first time they meet, it is fate-the kind that means they are meant together, but life and the ones we love have a way of getting in the way sometimes. This is their love and life story.
This book absolutely destroyed me in the best of ways! Be warned, you will cry. I felt all of the emotions in this one. I cannot express how stellar of a human Andrea is. Sarah Ready managed to hook me from the very beginning and will forever forward be an autoread for me. If you enjoy emotionally wrought epic love sagas full of betrayal, lies, hardship, forgiveness and so much love, then hurry up and read this book. Words do not adequately describe how good this story is.
The audiobook has two different narrators that tell both Andy and Jace's perspective. It was so well-done and really made the story come alive. Both narrators gave the characters the perfect voices. If you like audiobooks, this is an amazing one to listen to.
If you are looking for a book with a lot of steam, then you may not like this one. That said, I thought it had some of the best romantic scenes I have ever read. Other than that, I cannot think of a single reason to not read this book.
The Space Between is one of my top reads of the year, if not the top. I loved it so much that I went and started to download anything and everything Sarah Ready has ever written. Thank you so much to the publisher and Netgalley for giving me the honor to read an ARC of this!
4.5 Stars
Oh, where to start with this one?! This was not what I was expecting at all, but I absolutely loved it. I went into The Space Between blind. Only knowing it was by Sarah Ready, I expected more of a light-hearted love story with some humor and witty banter. I was wrong! Ready takes the reader on an emotional rollercoaster of a love story and repeatedly breaks your heart until she ultimately puts it together again at the end. There were several times I was near tears while listening due to the emotional and captivating writing. Ready also threw in several twists I was not anticipating.
I loved having a dual POV between Jace and Andrea. However, I wish the middle of the novel had more of Jace's perspective; the balance was tipped toward Andrea in the between years and I really wanted more insight into Jace's life during the period. I listened to the audiobook version of this and thoroughly enjoyed the narrators. I found it helped me really visualize/connect with the characters better by hearing "their voices".
Highly recommend adding to your TBR list, especially if you like:
-contemporary romance
-dual POV
-second chance romance
-found family
-musicians
-opposites attract
-a little deception
Thank you to W. W. Crown, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Members' Audiobooks, and NetGalley who provided me with an ARC Audio of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
The book gave me slight Daisy Jones and the Six vibes (rock band on the rise, and the girl who loves the lead singer), combined with a Trump-esque real estate mogul family in NYC. Space that out over three different time frames and it's a long book (honestly, felt too long to me).
There's nothing wrong with the book, but I think it just wasn't a book for me. I have not read Sarah Ready before, but do like to read the occasional romance novel. For me this one felt a bit...melodramatic(?), I guess I would say, compared to others I have read and liked. I think part of that might have been the audio narration and the gravity of words of the narrator (particularly the male narrator) as they read. I thought some parts of the plot seemed wholly unrealistic, adding to the melodramatic feeling. Those plot points had me rolling my eyes a little. I also felt the first part of the book when they're teenagers seemed very YA, so much so that I would almost have abandoned the book, but knew there were adult years coming up.
This book is probably great for someone who loves a really mushy love story (too much mush for me), missed connections caused by miscommunications, and a book that spans 15 or so years of someone's live (a bit of coming of age in there).
I've read several books by this author and this one is my favorite so far.
Jace and Andrea meet and that's it. They know it's love and of course nothing can come between them because they love each other. Right? Hmmmm. Not necessarily.
Jace is from the wrong side of "the tracks." and Andrea is from so much money it should be sinful. They are complete opposites but yet they work. But when a misunderstanding comes between them, Andrea isn't sure how to move on. In fact, she doesn't do it well. She basically goes through the motions of living without allowing emotion to enter in. Eventually someone from her past helps her to remember that life is made to be lived. And eventually she will see Jace again....but will they ever find their way back to one another or is their time past?
This is simply such a wonderful book. It broke my heart and put it back together and then broke it again and then put it back together several times. There was just so much emotion written into these pages and I soaked it all up. I love it when an author writes a book that makes me feel so much and this was definitely one of those books. It was a true gift.
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: I really enjoyed the narration for this book. It kept me engaged and connected to the story. 4 1/2 stars
Thank you to W. W. Crown, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Members' Audiobooks and NetGalley for allowing me to listen to this ARC
This book. I rarely cry because of a book, but The Space Between got me. Now this may have been the first Sarah Ready book I've read, I'll be trying to read every single Sarah Ready book I can now!
“You’ve had my always since the day we met.”
What I loved:
- Dual POV, emotional rollercoaster, opposites attract
- Those Jace and Andy are opposites that come from different worlds, and from the moment they meet, you know they're meant to be. I love that the book was written in 3 parts as well.
- The angst in this book was like no other.
- Sarah Ready has an expert ability to break your heart, mend it, just to turn around and break it again.
If you're looking for an emotional romance with a love story that you won't be able to put down, give this one a try!
A massive thank you to NetGalley, Sarah Ready, and W. W Crown Publishing for the opportunity to read this ARC!
I truly love Sarah ready books and this one is no exception. her writing style and the chemistry her characters have is unmatched. if you love romances that aren't just straight light and fluffy with a little more meaning to them then you would love this.
This book wrecked me not once, not twice, not even three times. Just when I had emotionally recovered, boom, another curveball was thrown to destroy me. Yet this story has so many tangible human emotions and events. It’s beautiful and realistic. The author describes the settings and characters so well that I had no trouble picturing it. The dual narrators was key to hearing each persons story/narrative.
The Space Between tells the love story of Andrea and Jace, two New Yorkers who come from completely different backgrounds. You follow along their journey falling in love, falling apart, and the space between until their reunion.
Both characters are well written, as were the supporting family and friends, who play a bigger role than just being in the background. I’m holding a special place for Dallas - I really think he’s a big teddy bear! I found myself completely invested in their love story and rooting for their love. I loved the love and felt the heartbreak.
Thanks NetGalley and publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for my review!
The Space Between by Sarah Ready is about love. All different types of love. Love for your parents, siblings, boyfriend, girlfriend, that love that hits like hits you real hard, love for friends that become family, love that takes awhile. The main characters Andrea and Jayce they live New York City. Andrea comes from a very wealthy family. Jayce comes from the roach infested Bronx. One day they met in the park and they both knew they were each others person. Graduating high school and starting their life together Andrea went on tour with Jayce and his brothers band. That events that unfold after are filled with heartbreak, forgiveness, and healing.
You have to read this book I thought it was just fantastic. It will have you gasping, and crying and loving every minute of it.
Thank you Netgalley and W.W. Crown and IBPA for my free copy for an honest review.
I was not prepared to cry this much. WOW! This is such a beautiful story, both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Truly just beautiful.
The story is engaging from the first chapter and flows so well, unfolding at a great pace.
I really, really enjoyed it and highly recommend to any and all romance lovers.
I didn’t care for the male voice actor; his voice just didn’t fit the character of Jace for me.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Space Between is a complex, messy, and heart-wrenching exploration of young love, friendship, and family. You know when you read a book that pulls your heart out through your gut before putting you back together in the most achingly beautiful way, and all of your friends need to read it ASAP? That's The Space Between.
I enjoyed French Holiday, but it was completely different from The Space Between, and I'm not mad about it at all. I went into this audiobook blind and was completely blown away by what I heard. James Fouhey and Rachel F Hirsch are absolute perfection as Andy and Jace. I was not prepared for how beautifully they would tell this story that has easily become a top read of 2023 for me.
I cannot say enough about how wonderful this book is! Excellent job, Sarah Ready!!!
4 ⭐ One of my reads of the year. A moving and loving read.
When Bronx music prodigy Jace and wealthy upper east sider Andrea first meet, it’s love at first sight, but love isn’t easy and along the way there will be bumps, but will love conquer all?
Imagine you’ve met your soulmate and are currently on tour with him and his brothers, you’re both incredibly in love with each other, but after seeing him in bed with another girl you run off back to the life you had sworn you had left behind. Years later you meet an old friend who asks you to marry him shortly after seeing each other again, but why? And will you say yes?
After learning more about love and life from a guy you used to hate, you finally see your soulmate again, and this time things are different. What do you do and what will you learn along the way?
I loved that this story wasn’t all Jace and Andrea and we got to see other characters and also what felt like a whole different story. The character development was also amazing and felt authentic, especially from the point of Jace’s brothers. Every character also had a backstory and each had complex issues that were resolved throughout the story.
I was sceptical when I saw that this was 540 pages and was 13 hours on audible, but I must say it was easy to get through and a throughly enjoyable and entertaining read.
sarah ready has skyrocketed to my list of top favorite authors and this release has shown that she has incredible range. this book is an insane ride full of twists and turns. it's about a deep soulmate level of love and about the timing in life and the twists and turns that can happen. jace and andrea's story is a beautiful and intense one that will stick with me for a long time. the side characters, especially reid was a huge surprise because of how much I loved him. I'd definitely check the trigger warnings before starting this because it is definitely a ride. for any angst lover, this is the book for you. it's very frustrating and painful at points but it wraps up into a beautiful ending. this audiobook was also extremely immersive and its honestly what got me into audiobooks
Thank you to NetGalley, W.W. Crown publishing (IBPA), and author Sarah Ready for advanced copies.
4.5⭐ Remarkably moving!
Blue blood girl from the Upper East Side meets a poor musician boy and falls head over heels in love. 👛🎸
Now, let me say that insta love isn't one of my faves but DON'T let this turns you off because forbidden love is around the corner, The Space Between swept me away! It's a beautiful, magical, and emotional LOVE story. There is so much more to it but does take its time... be patient!
At 13 Hours+ or 542 pages, I thought this was a bit ambitious for a contemporary romance novel, but knowing I loved every book written by Sarah Ready in the last few years there's no chance I'm going to pass it up. I enjoyed French Holiday but this one tops that! Still, I think this book can be a hundred pages shorter and without the bitty steamy session. I don't think this book needs that. But I love the rollercoaster journey with Andrea and Jace and never felt bored. 🎢💘
James Fouhey (my new favorite) and Rachel F. Hirsch are both fantastic voices for the characters. A worthy read or listen.
I honestly really liked this book. Something about the characters always coming back to each other over the course of their lives really draws me in. I did end up liking the other love interest more than the main one. This book will make you question everything. There were so many ups and downs that it kept me interested. It felt more genuine because love in real life is difficult and hurts more than it doesn't sometimes. I really loved the ending because it made all the emotional turmoil worth it.
this is my first Sarah Ready book and it definitely won’t be my last. A book full of love, heartbreak, family betrayal, healing and growing. It was such a wonderfully compelling book that I had a hard time putting down. Some characters I thought I’d hate I really loved. It’s hard to go into detail about my exact thoughts without giving spoilers away so I’ll leave it at this. I loved this book. So why did I give it 4 stars? Their 8 year separation was based on a miscommunication that I just felt wrong. I’m not a fan of miscommunications but in some instances I can understand it…there was no understanding this one. But overall it was so well written I moved past my initial frustration with that and the rest of the book was great.
