Good plot, well thought-out characters, very well written! I recommend this, if you like quality, and is in the need for a good book to heat you up, as we venture into summer.

I'm in love with this series. This book was well-balanced with wit, humor, and love. The Mabry's are a unique family that has such personality. Amelia was a creative artist who needed reassurance that her art was worthy. Andrew was definitely the person to give her confidence in her art. I really enjoyed the story and all the characters. This is my second book by this author and I am looking forward to future books in the series and others. Especially Harewood and Mariel's books.

I received this book from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for an honest review.

I LOVED the previous book. I liked this book a lot as well. And I am so excited to read the finale with big sister Mariel, whose sadness just permeates the first two books and makes you want to give her a hug.

But anyway, focusing on Painting the Duke. As I said before, these are loosely based on the concept of Little Women, which I didn’t like when I read it 40 years ago. But Lexi Post makes it work here. This one is about Amelia and I was worried, since Amy was my least favorite Little Women character, but Amelia is downright awesome. She’s the artist of the family, who has borrowed the naughty book from the first in the series to try to figure out how to capture the male form. It’s not working so . . . why not try from real life—which leads her to the Earl of Sommerset, who has the finest male form in the kingdom. He’s in need of a wife, so what about her?

She needs a model. He needs her dowry. What could go wrong?

I liked this book a lot, even though there were some typos and I did get a little frustrated over the fact that they wouldn’t COMMUNICATE, but communication between men and women has been an issue since the dawn of time so it worked. You also get to see James and Jo from the previous book, as well as sad sister Mariel. Also, the backstory with Andrew’s best friend, Harewood, was perfection and pulled my heartstrings. I do hope he’ll find happiness.

And yes, there’s a villain trying to keep them apart, which adds some intrigue.

By the way, KUDOS for that cover art. It is just perfect, down to the purple sheet.

Slow burn, kind of spicy, lots of fun. Definitely a 4 to 4-1/2 read.

His proposal and her counter proposal were a shocker to both of them. But it was the start of their beautiful relationship. Except for the issue of a ‘bowl of fruit’ and dowry, things would have gone more smoothly but in the meantime, the interaction and exchanges are witty and and full of fun, not to mention steamy. Excellent read.

I received an ARC from Netgalley and leaving my review voluntarily.
