This is a page turner and I finished it in one day. The ending left me wanting more it’s almost like the writer got tired. I found the characters to be well developed although not really likable. I’m hoping the open ending means a sequel is coming.

This is a story of two women, Lizzy & Beth told from their points of view. We hear about Lizzy and her handsome road-side rescuer Zach. We learn about Beth & her loving husband Ian & their desire for a child. We listen in dismay as the romantic roadside encounter turns into a not-so-romantic marriage. We empathize with Beth & Ian as they travel to their remote cabin and deal with a dangerous visitor. As the two stories progress, the tension ratchets up along with the desperation and danger, finally intersecting and culminating in violence.

This is a psychological thriller that is suspenseful. The characters are well-developed. The writing style is engaging, and the twists and turns keep readers on edge.

The book is well-narrated by Emily Durante, and this advance listening copy was enjoyable.

I. HATE. ZACHARY!!! I think I had a mad look on my face the whole time I listened to this one! I really enjoyed the multiple POV storyline. You have no idea how they relate to each other until later on and that was executed brilliantly! I highly recommend this psychological thriller!! So many twists!

Thank you to @DreamScape Media for the ARC. Wow, just Wow. This book had me guessing till the end. I loved how it was told in two POV. The countdown to Sophie murder was a cliffhanger after every chapter. I highly recommend this book if you want to read something you can not put down. The Narrator was wonderful.

Trigger warning ⚠️ domestic abuse, manipulation, emotional abuse

I did enjoy the narrator (I listened to the Audiobook version) and felt they did a great job. I actually feel their narration kept me interested for longer, I don’t know if I would have been as interested in the paperback version.

Unfortunately this book missed the mark for me. There are topics including *trigger warning* domestic abuse, physical and emotional abuse, manipulation. I cannot get past these parts. Though I’m an avid reader of psychological thrillers, I draw the line at physical and emotional abuse. There is a line of “suspense” that does not need to cross into abuse. This is my own personal opinion.

This book has potential- with two point of views. At times I wondered if the two women were the same, if they knew each other- what was the connection? I didn’t feel connected to the characters and felt the book could have used more time helping us to get to know the characters, while at the same time I wanted it to “get to the point.” I will try more books from this author as I feel there is potential, but this was just not my taste.

A quick and captivating read!

Lizzie had quickly fallen for the new doctor in town. Not soon after, they were married and living the dream. At least that's what it appears like from the outside. Behind closed doors, Lizzie's new husband is holding her captive and abusing her in the most sadistic way possible. She wants to get away but how?! He knows her deepest and darkest secret.

This was an entertaining read from beginning to end. I have to admit, Lizzie's character was extremely frustrating to read about. But I'm glad she wasn't completely helpless the entire time. There's definitely room for more development and depth. The story felt a bit rushed in the beginning. Other than that, it was still an enjoyable read.

I would recommend this to those fans of domestic thrillers.

***Thank you to NetGalley, Emily Shiner, and Dreamscape Media for graciously sending me the audiobook to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.***

💭My Thoughts 💭
This was my first book from this author, and I really enjoyed the plot & twists to it. Without giving so many details away this was indeed a page turner that had me hooked to see why & how the dual POV was connected. I felt for the FMC Elizabeth and understood why she did what she did to her father and then husband (I wanted to punch them both in the face). I couldn’t predict why Ruth was involved in all this until the end and then it all made sense. The narrator Emily Durante was amazing and had me guessing until the end.

ARC audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.

I really loved Emily Durante’s narration on this book! She seamlessly transformed into multiple characters and I was always able to tell who was speaking. The story itself takes place in two different timelines and was a little confusing at first until you start to see more of the picture and where things are headed. The story really pulled me in and I felt so strongly for some of the characters, mainly hatred but also sadness for their situation. If you’re into psychological thrillers you should definitely check this book out!

You Can’t Hide gripped me immediately. Although at times it was a difficult listen because of the intense physical and emotional abuse, it still kept me interested in the outcome. One of the twists I guessed, but the others were a complete surprise. The narrator did an excellent job bringing the characters to life while adding an element of authenticity and emotion to this heartbreaking, and unsettling thriller. Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for my audiobook.

This book had me listening intently all the way up to the end. The two story lines were compelling and I wanted to find out what was happening to the lead characters in the end. The twist was pretty good and unexpected, then the very end left me with a little bit of a chill. I would definitely read more from this author, especially since part of this book was set in my home of Upstate New York! Thank you NetGalley for the audio arc!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book - though I had the ending just about figured out earlier on, this read kept me engaged. I love books that break up the story by having two separate things going on that end up intertwining. I knew early on that Beth was likely LIzzie but wasn't sure how the intruder in the cabin was going to play out, that was the part that had me stumped. This was face paced, read it in one sitting. Although this didn't have what would be considered a "clean" ending, I felt like the author did an excellent job of coming full circle from the beginning. I would definitely recommend to grab this read, available everywhere June 20, 2023!

This book immediately drew me in. Told from two different point of views, each one interesting from the beginning. I did figure out the twist early on though, it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book. The audiobook is well done. The only thing was the very end of the book is confusing. I have so many questions about it. Overall it was a solid 4 star read for me.

"You Can't Hide" by Emily Shiner is a fast-paced thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. While the plot may not be entirely original, the author's writing style and character development make up for it. The story follows protagonist Sarah, who is on the run from her abusive ex-husband. As she tries to start a new life, she finds herself in the middle of a dangerous game of cat and mouse.

The book is well-written and the characters are well-developed, but there were a few plot points that felt predictable. Additionally, some of the twists and turns felt forced and didn't quite fit with the overall story. However, the ending tied up all loose ends.

Overall, "You Can't Hide" is a solid thriller that will appeal to fans of the genre. While it may not be the most original story, the author's writing style and character development make it worth the read.

Emily Durante did an impeccable job with her narration. Thank you Netgalley for the audiobook.

This book just felt off. I felt like the story was not told well and did not flow. There was no build up of domestic abuse it went from one extreme to the other and just seemed unrealistic. The two storylines coming together was the only part I liked.

The narration didn't work for me. The story was immediately predictable, so even though it's a short read, if felt like it went on way too long to get to what I already knew was coming. Overall, this one just fell flat for me.

This was my 1st book by Emily Shiner and it did not disappoint! Beth met the wrong man and his family but did the unthinkable and saved herself and her hubs. This wild ride kept me in its grips until the final page! I am now adding all her backlog of books to my TBR!

Gosh this was good! Not much I can say without giving too much away, other than, read it and go in blind.

I was hooked from the beginning trying to figure out which way this was going. So many twists, highly atmospheric, isolated and creepy cabin and so many secrets.

I was thankfully gifted the audio book, and it was like watching a movie! Highly recommended.

Many thanks to @netgalley @dreamscape for an advanced listening copy.

Thanks for the arc netgalley! This is my first book by this author and I was excited to read it. It started off right into the story and quickly got my interest, but felt like the middle was really repetitive and slow. The end picked up but it was fairly predictable. I liked the writing and the narrator did a great job! Overall a 3/5 but a quick easy read.

Just WOW! This book was so good. With two separate stories being told I spent the entire book searching for the link between the two. The stories and characters were so well developed. The ending left me questioning the future for the main character and I am still thinking about it.

I felt like I was part of the story - part of the action and all the twists. This was my first Emily Shiner book but it definitely will not be the last!!
