I went into this thinking that it would be more than what it turned out to be. Originally a webtoon, it's a story about a young werewolf with no confidence who is taken in by a father and charged with looking after his very reluctant son. After awhile, it sort of got on my nerves.

Lumine is a story about a young were-dog-boy who is hired as a body guard for his strength. But Lumine doesn't remember his history, who his parents are, when he was born, or even exactly how old he is. Why can't he remember his past? Why does he attract trouble?
Lumine has recently been hired by a new client who seems to be part of a shadowy organization. He is supposed to be a body guard for the son of one of the agents, who definitely isn't interested in having a body guard. Part one of a series, this manga-stylized story has more questions than answers, but they make the reader want volume two to come out soon.

Lumine is a 13-year-old abandoned weredog who can't transform properly just trying to survive. Kody is witch who can't control his powers and is being stalked by a cat spirit. Kody's father hires Lumine to be Kody's bodyguard, but Kody hates Lumine. Lumine continues to try to protect Kody, but he makes it difficult when he forbids Lumine to tell his father about the bullying occuring at school. Will Lumine be able to reach Kody?

This series is set in a world where witches and weredogs live amongst humans. Lumine is a weredog with a mysterious past who ends up playing bodyguard to Kody, a witch from a rich family whos being bullied at school. The plot moves quick, with Lumine being hired within the first few pages, while the rest of the book starts to set up some of the plot. The two don't really seem to get along, mostly due to Kody's difficulty opening up to people. The characters have potential to be good, we just don't get a good sense of most of them in this first volume. Even the two main characters seemed pretty flat at times. I had some issues with the art, sometimes the eyes looked weird at certain angles, but this is a well-done, colorful setting. I'm interested in seeing more, but at this point, the first volume leaves a lot to be discovered.
