This is my first time reading a book by Barb Han. I am a lover suspenseful murder romances and I must say that Barb Han did an awesome job and I will most definitely be reading more of her work. This is the 4th book in “The Cowboys Of Cider Creek Series.” This is entertainment, drama, action packed, page turning adventure, suspenseful, twists, turns, mystery, mayhem, romances and a plot that held me captive. Tiernan’s dog Loki leads him to a dead body on his property. Tieran thinks that Melody is a suspect in the murder because her name and address was in the victims pocket. Deep down Tieran knows that Melody couldn’t have killed the victim and he is going to do everything he can protect and keep her safe. As the two are spending time together to they are very much attracted to each other and their chemistry is awesome.

Melody’s information was on the victim’s doesn’t make her a suspect, who killed the victim and why, was Melody being setup, is there an HEA in store for Melody and Tieran?

I received an ARC via NetGalley and Harlequin Intrigue and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

I didn't love this one but I also didn't hate this one. However I'm not sure how I feel about this one.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
Tiernan’s dog brings him to a spot on his land where Tiernan finds a dead body. When he meets Melody, the suspect, he feels in his heart there is no way she could have committed murder. Tiernan takes her under his protective wing and together they dig deep into family and other connections to the murder.
Melody feels Tiernans protectiveness and trusts him to help her solve who is behind the murder of her new found family.
Great read and great suspense!

Tiernan and his dogs finds a body on his land and someone left a note on Melody's car to go to a certain place where the body was found. As if this wasn't suspicious enough it seems that she is actually being targeted probably because of her family and her father's pass dealing. Melody is now on a mission to figure out who is trying to Target her and why.

I really enjoyed this book it was pretty confusing for a while but I enjoyed following along as they tried to figure out what was going on. There was a question on who was behind everything if it was a family member or if it was just kind of targeting her family. Melody is trying to somewhat distance herself from her family after what happened with her dad and just try to find some normalcy when this happens. It was interesting seeing what she kept uncovering as she looks into what's going and and Tiernan was along for the ride I mean it did happen on his land so why was he put in this situation. Its clear though after a few close calls they are getting closer to the people behind this and overall this was a pretty fun book to read. Really enjoyed it.

Terrific, fast-paced story that hooked me from the first page and kept me intrigued to the end. The book opens with Tiernan walking his dog Loki (perfect name for the pup!) on his ranch and Loki finding a dead body. A paper with a woman's name and address is found in the victim's pocket. Tiernan rides along with the sheriff to see her.

Melody has just finished a job interview when she finds a mysterious note on her windshield. She's unsure if it is meant for her, or a mistake, or somehow related to her father's crimes. When she stops at home, she's met by a sheriff's deputy and Tiernan and told that she's wanted for questioning by the sheriff. She's confused and concerned but goes along with them.

I already liked Tiernan at this point. His instincts tell him that there is no way Melody could be the murderer. I also appreciated his immediate protectiveness as he watched the sheriff do everything he could to pin the murder on Melody. I loved how he told her to stop answering questions while he made a phone call and got her a top-notch lawyer. He takes her back to his house, where she meets Loki. Tiernan's sensitivity to her fear of dogs and explanation of Loki's history were a good look at the kind and compassionate man he is.

I ached for Melody as the truth of her trouble hit hard. The meeting with the lawyer helps some, but hearing the sheriff is searching her house adds to that feeling. Then, the twist of the victim's identity adds to the situation's complexity. I liked how Tiernan offered to let Melody stay with him when she didn't want to be alone.

Though the lawyer and the sheriff have people investigating, Tiernan and Melody decide to do a little sleuthing themselves. I loved Melody's determination to be fully involved and Tiernan's desire to help and keep her safe. The twists and turns of their searches, combined with the sheriff's determination to pin the murder on Melody, kept me as deeply invested as they were. Even as the clues piled up, I was kept guessing about who was behind the attempt to frame Melody. The final confrontation surprised me and had me on the edge of my seat until it was over.

I enjoyed watching the relationship develop between Tiernan and Melody. They were attracted to each other from the moment they met but tried to resist because of their situation. Both also have trust issues from previous relationships, which take a little while to overcome. I especially liked Tiernan's protectiveness and the sweet way he cared for Melody. At the same time, she felt protective of him and tried to keep from being too disruptive to his life. I liked seeing the similarities in their attitudes towards wealth and privilege. I loved the ending and seeing them admit their feelings for each other. I wish there had been an epilogue because I would have liked more about Tiernan and his family.

Loki was my favorite secondary character. I loved how Tiernan told Melody Loki's story and its effect on her. Tiernan's love for the dog was undeniable, and I loved seeing them together. I also liked Loki's protectiveness toward Tiernan and Melody. I've had two labs, and the author nailed the breed's personality.

This is a Cowboy Romantic Suspense, and this is the fourth book in the Cowboy of Cider Creek series. I have not read the other books in this series before picking up this book, but I think you can read this book as a standalone without any problems. I really loved the characters in this book. The suspense and action was everything I wanted. This is a fast paced book that will keep you wanting to keep reading. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin Intrigue) or author (Barb Han) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

This was a fast paced murder mystery. I enjoyed these characters and their journey. I liked the twists and turns. I did not ultimately guess correctly on this one. Which is pretty great, lol. This is a new to me author. This was a clean read. The kisses would steam up a car, but it was still clean.

I have been a fan of Barb Hann and she does not disappoint in Texas Scandal. It is part of a series but reads well on its own.

Tiernan emerged as a captivating character with a depth of heart that pleasantly surprised me. There was so much more to him than met the eye. His love for his dog, Loki, from the very first page, had me swooning, and that admiration only grew stronger as I devoured the book.

I had no clue who the actual killer might be, and that mystery kept me on my toes. Melody's character brimmed with fire and determination, after the initial shock, easily matching Tiernan's spirit. This dynamic duo exuded palpable chemistry, making them an outstanding team. Maddy's unwavering commitment to proving her innocence, even if it meant placing herself in the crosshairs of the real culprit, showcased her resilience.

Fortunately, Tiernan wasn't about to let any harm come her way; he was steadfast in his resolve to protect her.
In a nutshell, this book delivered on all fronts and held true to my expectations for Barb Han's work. It was a rollercoaster of action, romance, suspense, and plot twists that kept me guessing until the very end. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone seeking a thrilling and engaging read!

With Barb Han, I always expect fast-paced, and this book certainly delivered! Tiernan was a great character and he had so much heart. There was definitely more to him than he let others typically see. The way he loved his dog Loki, right from page one, had me swooning for him and I pretty much didn't stop through the end of the book. He was definitely a three dimensional character and from the moment he found the body on his property, I knew that he was going to do whatever it took to find the culprit. And he was going to make sure that he did everything he could to keep Melody safe.

As for Melody, she was portrayed to be the killer at the start and even though I knew that it wasn't her, I will admit that the evidence was pretty damning. But, I also had no idea who the killer was actually going to end up being. Maddy was full of fire and determination that rivaled Tierney's. Which is probably part of why they made such a great team and there was so much palpable chemistry happening between them. She was willing to prove her innocence no matter what, even if that put her in the crosshairs of who was actually responsible. Luckily, Tierney wasn't willing to let that happen and was going to protect her.

This book was fantastic and exactly what I've come to expect from Barb Han! Full of action, romance, suspense, and definitely plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing all the way until the end. I definitely recommend this book!
