“Yes, Mistress.”
"You are my nirvana. You. Are. Mine. Whether realms, time, or existence separate us, you will always be mine."
This has such a gorgeous book cover which I love. And oh god, the dedication note 😂
This is a dark, paranormal, Spicy, why choose romance.
I really did enjoy a lot of this book, and the characters were well written. This PNR follows Mariax, Hunter and Ian.
The story building, FMC and other characters were all good. I would have liked to know a bit more about the world around them, how the paranormal interact with humans etc. Just a bit more about the world outside their bubble. And I didn't really like Ian if I'm honest, hopefully there is some redemption in the next book.
Oh and a bit of a pedantic point, but im really not a fan of talking about real life books, authors. I think it happened at least 5 times. It just pulls me out the moment and back to reality...
Overall, this was a really good read, and i will read the next book.
Thank you NetGalley, Victory Editing and CM Hutton for sending this book for review. All opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley for sending me this book.
I’ll start off this review by saying this wasn’t meant for me. While I do enjoy erotica, BDSM is something I am less than comfortable with and it probably altered my overall vision of the story— especially considering the book is centred all around this specifically, with very little amount of plot.
Which leads me to my biggest issue with the story ; there’s for me a certain amount of smut to not cross while writing a book, and when authors does it, it just becomes a little bit ridiculous. This was, for me, sadly the case with 'Mistress Of Souls'. Writing about sex (even BDSM) is fine, but when it’s so omnipotent to the point where we cannot even have a proper opportunity to met the characters for like a few chapters (to really set the bases) before being thrown into their sex life.. it’s not enjoyable.
Like, the first chapter was quite literally a sex scene.. what happened to "hello", "how are you", "my name is" aha ?
And talking about the characters, that lack of proper build up made them quite unlikable for me. That and the fact that our three protagonists seemed to be a copy/paste of each other with merely slight alterations to make us the readers able to notice some differences (like Hunter being Scottish for example). Overall, they lacked a distinctive essence ; they had the same interest when it comes to sex, had the same "alpha" personality with a morally discutable attitude etc etc.. there was, basically, no flavor. And this caused to make the multiple POVs aspect feel very unnecessary.
To conclude, this book could’ve worked as a fanfiction about characters readers are already familiar with.. but here ? There was just too much sexual content for not enough glimpses into the book’s universe.

2.5/ 5⭐
5/5 🌶️
✅ Switch (Domme & Sub) FMC
✅ Demons & Lycans main characters (so far)
✅ Shape-shifting tail
✅ Unique world
❗️❗️ Check triggers before reading
The story is unique from the start. Though it takes a bit to pick up, you start getting answers to some early questions that clear things up in the second half. Mariax is running from a troubled past in Hell when she meets Hunter (lycan) in the human world and is instantly drawn to him. She tries to convince him to check out the sex club she runs where she's a mistress to get him to try out the lifestyle. She is eventually forced to confront some of the things she's been avoiding, even if she doesn't feel ready.
This story has a lot of potential and I'm excited to see where book 2 goes. This first book almost felt more like a prequel novella for the first half, then the true story starts to pick up for the second half.
A few things to note:
❕❕ I wish there would've been a bit more world-building in the beginning by experiencing different things instead of being told some information. Some of my favourite scenes were with Mariax's friend at her tattoo shop just chatting.
❕❕ Some of the dialogue felt a little forced at times. It didn't quite flow naturally and kept taking me out of my reading experience.
❕❕ Some of the main events that felt like should've happened on paper, we didn't see and only knew they happened since it was referred to in passing. This made the story confusing at times since you're not sure what has and hasn't happened between some of the main characters. A lot of "firsts" took place off-paper which took away from character arcs/relationship building
Overall, I liked the book and its potential. I hope some of the referred notes about will be worked out in book 2 since I'm excited to see what happens!
Another great read, has a great story. A lot of heat and naughtiness, devilishly alluring, all around an intoxicating story. Characters were excellent and loved getting to know them.
Deliciously Dark & Intoxicatingly Spicy
Where do I start with this intoxicating little beauty, it’s deliciously naughty and this plot has me guessing and needing more…good lord how I need more of this series!
Ok so first before this story even begins the dedication! I loved it, it hooked my interest right away and I felt like I got called out and then told off by Mariax!
I should have known from then onwards I’d be a mess of thought& emotions.
Now this isn’t just your typical Paranormal Demon dark romance it is without a doubt the hottest & Kinkiest Demon Dark Romance I’ve ever read and that says a Hell or should I say Inferna a lot.
It has an array of kinks including BDSM, primal play, blood & knife play, dub-con and degradation … I know I told you SPICEY!
There’s so much more so do check TWs
The way I not only ate up the spicy but also the plot!
C.M.Hutton has a way of not only illuminating and supporting sexual freedom and gender equality was done beautifully. She has a brilliant way of delving into the mind set of each character, so that as you read the book you feel like you are embodying that character, may that be an air of authority, boyish light and laughter to fierce bad bitch energy. It is also poignant to highlight she also delves into complex issues and situations such as anxiety, panic attacks and even PTSD.
I really enjoyed this book and with the undercurrent plot running through this book, I’m very intrigued to see how C.M. Hutton opens and expands on this world. It’s got some really great potential!

Thank you to the C.M.Hutton & Netgallery for this read.
The review is also posted on Amazon.
I wanted to love this ao much, monster/demon smut?!?! My favorite. But I couldn't get past the writing, it was hard to read.
Smut, smut and more smut
If this is what you enjoy reading then this book is for you.
I did enjoy reading this, romance, graphic sex and the supernatural.
I liked the characters and reading each chapter from each ones perspective.
I will look forward to future works by this author.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an advance copy for a honest review.
This is a good book and i very much enjoyed it! just not everything about it is for me be sure to check the trigger warnings before you read
When I tell you this book delivered, it DELIVERED. It had everything a reader like me could hope for! Romance, smut, plot, and a ton of kinks! This is definitely a book that you want to read all trigger warnings for to make sure it's what you're into!
The cover is stunning and the book itself was just as good! The plot itself didn't hook me right away, but it picked up at about 30-40% for me, After that I was hooked and couldn't put the book down until I got to the end. The characters were all really enjoyable to read about, and their growth throughout the book was written really well! While there was some repetitiveness that felt like it dragged on throughout the book, the majority of it was really fast paced, making this an extremely easy read for me!
While this is book one, and there's more to come, I can for certain say that it was so good and feels like it's really fleshed out as a whole, which makes me extremely excited for the next book in the series!
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
I’m still not sure whether to give it 3 or 4⭐️
Hahaha
Personally, i don’t really into dom/sub dynamics in a dark romance book. I do, sometimes enjoy a little bit of dom/sub but not to this full extent. BUT, if you’re into that this book will definitely satisfied and meet your expectations (i hope).
At first, i thought that this is a second book or something because the prologue kinda start with a hint of something really big that i’m wondering whether it’s the first or second book. Turned out it’s the first debut novel from the author and look how amazing their work because i’m hook, line and sinker after finished with the prologue.
It’s fun, entertaining, sexy as hell, if you’re on your period or in the mood, definitely go pick up this book because it’s sizzling HOT🥵🥵
Lots of exploration of kinks and sexual interaction and surprisingly didn’t make feel uncomfortable at all. The author able to deliver this sexy dynamic of fem-dom that owns a sex dungeon, pups and daddy kinks all at once and tied it nicely. It’s kind of a why choose romance too, so i’d say go for it😚
Can’t wait to see the author future works!! The world that the author created is just so mesmerizing and i really hope that the author will explore it more in the next installment💫💫
Thank you Netgalley and Author for this E-ARC in exchange of an honest review✨
I like the idea of a supernatural world superimposed with our own where they get up to hijinks and have businesses and stuff.
However the writing absolutely killed it for me. It felt very forced and cheesy when reading from any POV. The confidence of either character felt so so inauthentic. The need to describe outfits in detail felt very Wattpad. I commend the author for writing a novel, but this is definitely not targeted towards me.
This book is one of my top reads of 2023. I could not put it down and read the entire thing in one sitting. It's spicy, it's exciting, the love interests are both insanely hot *insert bi panic* there is not a single thing i didn't love about this book.
