I was trying to savor this but I couldn't help myself! I absolutely 💯 adored this book!
Y'all Barbara had me giggling and oh my I just loved her!!
My bus driver even asked me what was so funny so I told him. I had him smiling too. Especially when I told him the setting was in Kentucky!
Ms. Steele has done a fantabulous job in describing Kentucky so much so that I felt like I was back home! I miss Kentucky so much and yes I even have my moments just like Barbara does.
Mel made me smile too in many ways!
He's a good man even when the rough things in life that he didn't expect to get thrown at him he took it like a pro. It made me admire him that much more.
I like to think that God has His reasons for throwing us out of our comfort zone and planting us just where He wants us. That happened to me with Florida. He wants me here for some unknown reason.
I just loved this dear story with the Lord's sweet reminder that He'll never leave is no matter where He puts us.
I won't say nothing else but fans of Mindy Steele and the Amish are sure to love this sweet book and I believe that it is my favorite besides Cicada Season and the cover is so lovely!
5 stars for a well written story that will stay with me for a very long time. I know I can always go home through this heartfelt novel. It's like I never left!
I hope to read more about Barbara and Melvin again. They're certainly quite the couple! You can't help but love them! But in my opinion it's Barbara who made this story. Not everyone can be exactly alike! That's why I loved this story so much!
Here's a favorite quote
“Finding something you love, even for as short as a single summer, is a gift.”“So is finding beauty in what others tend tooverlook.”
Thank you Mrs. Steele for another heartfelt novel! I simply love your stories!
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

What a sweet story. Barbara is not a good quilter, and prefers gardening instead. When she leaves Kentucky to visit her grandparents in Indiana she is lost. Her grandma owns and runs a local quilt shop, and Barbara is lost on what to do to feel needed. Luckily her grandpa asks grumpy Melvin, a landscaper, to hire her to help him. Working together they start to create flower quilts and it catches the eye of many. Enjoyed this one, as well as the budding romance. Hard to put down and would highly recommend.
