I really liked this book.
The graphics were adorable and the plot was captivating, allowing me to read in one sitting. I was left wanting more but the ending was satisfying enough. I’d definitely read this author again.
I would absolutely recommend you add this to your autumn reads list for a super cozy night in! Definitely has those spooky october vibes with lighthearted fun and humour all mixed in together.
Thanks so much for the ARC!

unfortunately this did not work for me the whole story was wild. very modern, some modern phrases were used in the dialog it just felt jarring because they were in the whimsical fantasy world
however the art was right up my alley, it was so pretty and whimsical when it needed and more dark in the darker creepier parts of the story I will be checking out the artists in the future

Thank you to Netgalley and Mad Cave Studios for giving me an eArc of this book!
I was not a fan of this book. The art was nice, but I just found the entire plot weird. And what was with that ending? The last time I had an experience with a book like this was the last arc I got from Netgalley also published by Mad Cave Studios.
Overall, I think the main thing that felt off was the fact that this book seemed to be targeted towards an audience of furries. I'm not in that community. I also just felt like a lot of the world felt a little too weird for me to get behind. Not a bad story though. just not for me.

I received and earc of this graphic novel from Netgalley. This graphic novel was interesting. I think the premise of the story was good, but the execution felt like it missed the mark.
The art itself is great and perfect for fall with darker tones and just a touch of creepy vibes. The representation is also diverse with both BIPOC and queer main characters. Truly these aspects of the graphic novel personally carried it for me.
However, story as a whole I felt could have had better delivery and timing. Personally it felt like too much of the novel was spent being cryptic about the problems the teeneagers were facing and focusing on the all-encompassing emotions they were experiencing. It didn't seem to truly flow well and many cryptic points just left me confused and wanting better understanding. I think personally too much was trying to be done in order for underlying circumstances to come off as mysterious but yet this wasn't rounded out well. The resolution of this was so quick and left me feeling unfulfilled and thinking "that's it?" with how abruptly things were resolved and how little time was actually spent processing and addressing the conflicts the characters were having.

I loved the fantastical images, the queer representation, and the journey to healing that these characters went on - not to mention their journey through the Confetti Realms! The story was whimsical and humorous while still properly addressing serious issues. I wish the ending has taken us a little further into what came next for these characters, but had a lot of fun reading what we were given.

What a weird and delightful time. I enjoyed getting to know the world and am curious what will happen next.

I loved the funky characters in the book and the spooky storyline. The illustrations are so good. The monsters or scary characters are so cool. I love animals in people clothes every time. All around this was a very cool and thoughtful book.

Thank you to the Netgalley, Mad Cave Studios, Maverick, and authors Nadia Shammas, Karnessa, Hackto Oshiro, and Micah Myers for an advanced copy of this book! All opinions are my own. Available as of October 17, 2023.
This graphic novel follows four teens who make a wish on Halloween and are transported to the world of Confetti Realms. Upon arrival, they are given a minor quest and learn that the entire realm is about to be transformed into a new one very soon. The idea of becoming someone else is very enticing for each teen as they struggle with their respective issues. Now, they must decide if they will stay or return to their lives.
While I enjoyed the premise, I am not sure if the storyline and conclusion did it justice. The characters move throughout the realm gaining insight from their experiences. But with four teens having different struggles, the symbolism of each experience wasn’t fully explored. On the other hand, the artwork and color palette were very suitable for this graphic novel’s fall vibes. I also appreciated that the characters actually sounded and acted like teenagers. Their understanding of identity, mental health, grief, growth, and reconciliation felt realistic.

On Halloween night, 4 high-school students decide to go to a cemetery to drink and "summon" ghosts. After running from the police between the graves, they stumble upon a mausoleum that is host to Tom, a robot looking creature that offers them a deal- bring him 5 molar teeth from people that owe him in exchange for letting them go. Only upon their agreement, the group of friends is transported to Confetti Realm, a fantasy place full of different creatures.
On this quest to gather the molars, we get to see the insecurities and fears of each of the 4 students. We also get to see their differences and personal issues and how their relationships with others and themselves are affected by everything.
I highly enjoyed the art style in the book, especially the Confetti Realm and the creatures which were all unique. The characters were all diverse and interesting and dealing with their own problems and you couldn't help but root for them. However, I did think at times that the book was moving too quickly and I still have some questions about the realm.
If you are looking for a spooky queer graphic novel for this Halloween season, this might be the one for you 🎃
Thank you to Mad Cave Studios, Maverick and NetGalley for providing me with this e-ARC of the book for an honest review!

I really enjoyed this read. I thought that the premise of making a wish could send you into a different realm was interesting and new. The art work for this GN was very similar to Camp Spirit which I truly loved. And honestly one of the characters kind of reminded me of a character from that novel too, with the creep that is. I thought this was good paced, however I did find that the character development/resolution just wasn't there for me and it was kind of frustrating that was the only piece missing.

This was definitely outside of my comfort zone but I'm so glad I read it.
If I could sum this up in three words it would be wild, wonderful and wacky.
The art was absolutely stunning and Nadia has created that absolutely mad world where nothing is as it seems.
I definitely recommend this for a perfect spooky season read!

An absolutely perfect read to start off my favourite month with! I loved the art style, the dialogue, the characters (and that they actually behaved like teenagers, as well), the whacky story and the unfortunately necessary resources at the back. This made me laugh out loud a couple of times, which I do extremely rarely with books/comics.
I hope this is not a stand-alone because I want to read lots more from this world.

The illustrations are great and I liked the premise and the characters were a wonderful assortment of people. It’s a spooky fall through a portal to a different world story and each of these characters has their own things going on in their lives which made the story all the more interesting. This has a bit of humor and some real tough subjects melded together very well.
I will be getting this one for our library’s Graphic Novel collection.
3 1/2 stars
I received this book from the publisher Mad Cave Studios, Maverick and NetGalley for a fair and honest review.

I really need more weird spooky queer graphic novels like this because this was so good! I do wish it was longer and some aspects were a little more fleshed out but I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

I loved the colors the art, the art style and creative choices so much!! The story was also engaging and enjoyable but ah couldn't stop looking at those wonderful illustrations!!! 😍
Highly recommend!!

This was a cool little Halloween read with absolutely gorgeous artwork. Seriously. So stunning!
The characters were all interesting and diverse which I always love to see, but it felt like too much was thrown in in a short amount of time, leaving them feel a little under-developed and hard to connect with.
I also felt like it was a bit TOO fast-paced. I know graphic novels are usually quite fast-paced, but this one felt like so much was happening with zero explanation for anything, which may be some peoples cup of tea but didn’t quite work for me.
I recommend this one if you’re looking for something different this spooky season.

The art in this was absolutely killer. Very creepy, very spooky, great for October. The story lost me a bunch of times—I kept thinking I had missed dialogue, or pages, or something, because in the back half of the book the characters had a lot of conversations that didn't make much sense in context.

A group of teens are transported from a graveyard to another realm where they must collect teeth— and learn about themselves— in order to return home.
TW: depression, cancer, and panic attacks
The art was absolutely beautiful and cozy perfect for a Halloween read or just a general autumn read by a candle.
This book had an incredibly original premise that I thoroughly enjoyed. The magical world is well-built and the characters are complex which is something impressive for a graphic novel that is also fast-paced.
I would love a physical copy of this novel as it is just a delight for my eyes and would make for an amazing decoration piece on my shelves.
Thank you to NetGalley and Maverick/Mad Cave Studios for the free digital ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions presented here are my own.

Confetti Realms is a graphic novel that dives into the co olicated friendship pf four teenagers who are trapped inside of a magical realm and must work together to get out back into the real world. With some misunderstandings and block emotions standing in the way, will they have a shot to return before the big Transfiguration party?
I give this book three stars out of five. The beautiful imagery kept me hook to want to turn each page but the story line felt rushed and I was left feeling confused and underwhelm with the final conclusion.

This is such a fun read, and perfect for October. I got horror fairytale vibes from it, and I could easily picture this as a videogame or animated movie as well, especially because of the quest they go on.
