This was a fun graphic novel to get into the creepy fall feels. I enjoyed the story and the art. The characters were well developed.

Review of Confetti Realms by Nadia Shammas (writer), Karnessa (illustrator), Hackto Oshiro (colorist), and Micah Myers (letterer)
Thank you Mad Cave Studios and NetGalley for providing me an eARC of this amazing book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Confetti Realms is about four teens who are unwittingly transported into a new world (the Confetti Realms) where every few years, everyone is reborn into a new creature. All of these teens are going through their own struggles and for some of them, the idea of becoming a new person is enticing. What will they choose?
Firstly, the colors chosen for this book really match the tone. There are some bright moments, but there’s a lot of somber moments too and the Confetti Realms can be scary at times. So the dark colors mixed with the bits of brightness really adds to the story. Plus, the characters are very punk and the color palette for this graphic novel is reflective of that.
Next up, the character designs from the alternative teens to the insects and animals of the Confetti Realms are really well done. They’re all unique and I really liked the way the punk style was shown differently on the teens. They were all their own person.
Lastly, I loved the storyline. I like the ending a lot and I don’t want to get into why because of spoilers, but I thought it really worked for this book. I also like the way that being in the Confetti Realms makes the kids talk to each other in a way they never would in their world. I loved the themes of growth and reconciliation in this story.
This is one of the best books I’ve read in a while. 5 out of 5 stars.

After polishing off their pancakes and coffee at the diner, Marissa, Ty, Radwa and Garrett make their way to the cemetery to get drunk and summon a ghost. It is Halloween, after all.
At the cemetery, the group find a nineteenth century mausoleum. Inside is essentially a cabinet of curiosities, including a creepy automaton.
“To all the dreamers who seek what is lost: make a wish”
Naturally, everyone makes a wish and then … they’re not in New Jersey anymore.
It turns out creepy automaton guy is Tom. Tom wants to attend the ball but he’s missing some teeth and the way he sees it, Marissa, Ty, Radwa and Garrett are just the boozed up kids he needs to retrieve said teeth.
Having only just arrived in Confetti Realms, the kids don’t know the lay of the land. It’s a good thing Tom has a map.
The kids brought their baggage with them so there’s some friendship dramas and misunderstandings to clear up along the way. There’s also a bunch of creatures to meet and bargain with in their quest for the missing molars.
I particularly liked the axolotl wearing pearls and Moira. I wanted to spend more time with Moira and learn her backstory.
I initially really liked our four accidental dimension travellers. However, their arguing distracted me at times from fully appreciating the details of the world they had been transported to and the array of characters that inhabited it.
I loved the artwork and the colour palette. I enjoyed exploring this world but would have liked to have had more of a chance to get to know the creatures I was introduced to there.
This was a fun Halloween read that made me crave pancakes and add riding a giant centipede to my bucket list.
Thank you so much to NetGalley, Maverick and Mad Cave Studios for the opportunity to read this graphic novel. I’m rounding up from 3.5 stars.

2/5
The concept of this graphic novel was so good but while going forward with the read I was getting bored after every page, and I'll tell you why.
It started with a bang, the set of characters is basically perfect and all the ideas were immediately put all together. This new world seemed and first super interesting, as were the challenges.
After two of them tho, I started having a sort of deja vu, simply because the story started to repeat itself again and again. Yes, all the characters they met are all different and yes, all the settings were indeed completely different, but the main path was the same.
New part of the world > new main character > different situation they find themeselves into > challenge to retrieve the teeth > new friend check
And this goes on for like five times - meaning 100 pages - ? At the third I started to skim read and look more at the drawings that were very pretty to look at.
Overall, kinda forgettable experience for me.

Thank you to Netgalley and Mad Cave Studios, Maverick for the eARC.
Actual rating: 3.5 stars rounded up.
I loved the Halloween/fall vibes of this graphic novel and that it was queer af, but I wish the characterization had been more fleshed out and the ending was more conclusive. I love the glimpses of characterization that we get, but I still feel like I don't really "know" the characters and the ending felt abrupt and inconclusive.

This was a cute adventurous book, the art alone got me interested. The character designs were so good, the urge to be friends with them was so real. The story itself: plot, dialogues, setting, etc. was so magical. The exploration of each main character's fear and flaws were everything to me, they were all fleshed out and so emotional in the best way. Definitely a book worth reading, especially since it was short but was able to pack so much impact (at least to me).

This was a cute spooky graphic novel.
I liked how this deals with topics such as mental illness and coming of age.
The art style was beautiful.
This was perfect for the Halloween season

What a strange and bizarre little world this is!
Drinking at the cemetery on Halloween, four friends get sent to another relm, Confetti Relm, and are set with a task to get them home again. The world is full of strange creatures and made for a fun quest. I enjoyed the two relationship dynamics and the messages behind them both - friendship and relationships. The illustrations were stunning. A quick and fun read, perfectly full of Halloween vibes.

I was so excited to read this one, and I was not disappointed! If you are looking for a quick read to put you in the Halloween mood, look no further. I am so obsessed with this fantasy world—I want more, please! It felt like we fell into a spooky Tim Burton-esque, Alice in Wonderland type world. I LOVED it, thanks to the stunning artwork. I really enjoyed the story, but I do wish it had been fleshed outa little bit more because some of the drama felt a bit sudden to the point that I thought I had missed something. Overall, I did really, really like this & I’m looking forward to release day so that I can add a copy of this to my shelves!

“Confetti Realms” by Nadia Shammas:
In "Confetti Realms," a group of friends embarks on a Halloween night adventure that takes an unexpected twist when they stumble upon a mysterious puppet that transports them to the town of Confetti Realms. As they strive to find their way back home, they encounter challenges that strain their relationships and test their bonds. Will all five of them successfully navigate the trials that await?
I found the concept of the book, with its Halloween vibes and the promise of adventure, to be quite engaging. However, there are some aspects that left me wishing for more. While the story offers strong elements related to the setting and scenery, I felt that the characters themselves could have been more deeply developed.
The characters' interactions and bickering, while initially engaging, began to feel repetitive and somewhat tedious as the story progressed. Additionally, the ending left me somewhat confused, as it lacked clarity and resolution.
Overall, I see potential in "Confetti Realms" and appreciate the Halloween atmosphere it creates. However, I believe there is room for further character development and a more coherent conclusion. I'm intrigued by the book and hope that future installments or works by the author will further explore and refine these aspects.
I've rated this book 3 out of 5 stars, with the belief it has the potential.

I really liked this one, I rated this 4 stars out of 5. I recently just got into Graphic Novels. This one does come with a couple Trigger Warnings such as;
- Panic Attack.
- Depression.
- Parent with Cancer. This follows a group of friends who end up getting transported from a graveyard into another realm where they have to do a couple of things to get back home. This occurs on Halloween night when the kids decide they want to go to a graveyard. (I won't go any further into this as I feel I may spoil things if I say anymore). I loved the humour in this novel. Anything related to Halloween I tend to love. This definitely captured Halloween very well. The characters were great, very different. I loved the illustration in this novel too. I finished the graphic novel so quickly, I could not stop! Thank you to NetGalley and thank you Nadia for the eArc, I cannot wait to read some more of your work. Fantastic!

I've been looking for some fun creepy graphic novels to read. We're getting into fall so I thought it would be fun to pick this up. However, this didn't do it for me. It did deliver on the fall vibes but I couldn't get into the story. I found myself skimming through a lot of it. Plus, I didn't really find it to be that creepy. There was one character who I thought gave off the creepy vibes but that's it. I ended up giving this two stars because they did have a lot of interesting side characters. So props for that! Overall this story just wasn't for me. I do see a lot of people really ended up liking this on goodreads so if it sounds interesting to you worth checking out.
*Thank you so much to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me a free copy in exchange for my honest opinion.*

Confetti Realms is a spooky graphic novel dealing with themes like mental health, relationships and courage in front of adversity. Our characters find themselves transported into a dark fantasy land, where they're tasked with collecting debts (and exploring their troubled relationships) before they can return home. A perfect fall/Halloween read!

...I did not expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. I loved the incorporation of Halloween and thought it was executed really well. The way it tackled heavy topics while also having such silly characters was incredible to me. I do wish we had gotten to know the characters more and the ending felt a bit abrupt. Overall, I still really enjoyed reading Confetti Realms!

So I should have read the synopsis closer, A group of kids are sent to a magical world by a puppet to collect teeth. As someone with a tooth phobia, I was really nervous that I wouldn't be able to read this, but it was ok. The art is cute and fits the story so well. The colors are also an excellent choice. They would fit a real world and a fantasy world well. The letters were easy to read and didn't interfere with the art. I enjoyed the fantasy world and all of the people and creatures. It was a fun story and a really fun world.
4 stars

Rich, vivid, dreamlike, and so very queer. I loved the warmth and the Halloween-like spookiness of this book. I loved the characters, their relationships, and their conflict. I loved all the beings they met in the fantastical world they visited. Amazing Queer, gender nonconforming, and mental health representation. I will be recommending this book.

A big thank you to Net Galley and Mad Cave Studios for an ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review!
Confetti Realms is an autumnal delight, its story and atmosphere an equal mixture of Alice in Wonderland and Over the Garden Wall. The Halloween vibes are strong with this one, presenting a world that expertly struts down the line between whimsical and unsettling.
For a comic that feels so chill and almost relaxing at times, there's a slew of deeper issues that haunt our ensemble cast: taking care of a sick parent, mental illness, guilt, self-hatred. Their emotional arcs bring a good amount of weight and resonance to the story, but they may have hit harder if the introductions to these characters would have been a bit longer.
It felt like the story started a bit too late and ended way too early. While we get resolutions to the emotional journeys of the characters, the narrative ends too abruptly to be entirely satisfying. Still, I had a good time reading the story and getting a kick out of the utterly horrifying presence that is Tom the puppet. Not a bad way to start off the spooky reading season.

A fun comic for fans of Over the Graden Wall, Confetti Realms is the perfect quick cozy read to start off your spooky season. When four queer teenagers get sucked into a delightfully frightful world of talking animals and giant robots on Halloween Night, they must embark on a quest to find their way home. The art style was so beautiful and immersive. While the resolution wrapped up a little quickly, between the creativity of the plot, and loveability of the four main characters, Confetti Realms is still a great choice for your next graphic novel read.

As we are inching closer to fall, I have been slowly integrating fall/spooky reads into my TBR. This was the perfect read for spooky vibes. "Confetti Realms" is about a group of teens that get whisked away to confetti realms to complete a task. Along the way, they are forced to confront obstacles in their friendship to get home. I think if you are a scary movie fan this will be a fun read. I do wish we got more backstory into the world and the friends. Outside of that, I think this wraps up well. At the time of this review, its currently out so check it out.
Thank you to NetGalley and Mad Cave Studios for this copy of "Confetti Realms"!
