Thank you NetGalley and Mad Cave Studios for a copy of Confetti Realms!

"On Halloween night, when the moon is full, teenagers get up to mischief. But when an encounter with a giant, sentient puppet in a graveyard sends five teens to a mysterious dimension called the Confetti Realms, they must overcome obstacles in their own friendships–and collect the debted teeth owed to the puppet–in order to make their way home. But the allure of staying in a fantasy world is a hard one to beat, and going home to their normal lives is starting to sound less and less appealing for some. Will these friends return home?"

Confetti Realms is equal parts cozy and creepy--perfect for those looking to ease into those fall vibes now that summer is ending! The art style and colour reminds me a bit of Pumpkinheads (another fall staple). As for plot, I like the portrayal of teens having sudden burst of anger, identity crisis, and friendship struggles. 10/10 for diversity too!

One of my favorite things about graphic novels is how much can happen in so few words. Confetti Realms is definitely a great example of this. We meet a group of friends, watch them go through normal friendship woes, while also watching them go through an entirely different universe.

The idea of Confetti Realms was so much fun. The art was magnificent. The characters weren’t completely fleshed out, but they all had their own voices which made it an easy read.

The art was also beautiful. It’s dark and spooky while still being colorful. The diversity was lovely, and I’m so glad stories like this are becoming more common.

I’d love to see more in this world.

Thank you to NetGalley for the chance to read this advanced review copy.

Thank you NetGalley for providing with a copy of the ARC.

Confetti Realms is a creepy yet heartwarming coming-of-age comic that is a wonderful read for the upcoming spooky season.

The story follows a group of teens struggling with their identifies and emotions surrounding love, life and their place in the world. When these teens are transported into a strange and mysterious world, the Confetti Realms, and sent out on a quest if they ever want to return home, they are quite literally faced with these questions. Who am I, and how do I place myself in the world?

The story is told beautiful and the strange and wondrous world of the Confetti Realms transports the reader right into a world of old folktales. The story feels a little rushed at times, which is understandable given the length of the comic. Although I would have loved to see more of the characters, I think the comic is a fun, endearing but still creepy must-read for this Fall Season!

All in all, would definitely recommend!

This book was cute and colorful. It dealt with some tough issues in ways that I think younger audiences would be able to handle. The diversity was good and the characters were interesting enough, I just did not find the story to be very cohesive.

4/5 stars!!

(cw : panic attack, depression, cancer)

this graphic novel was such an interesting book, i’ve never read anything like it!! first of all, i really adored the art style. it was just magnificent and beautiful. i also loved how it captured the “halloween” feel exquisitely. the characters were illustrated so well. they were complex, they also had this witchy vibe that i found very unique. the diversity of the cast was definitely amazing!!

i think for the most part, the idea of the book was executed wonderfully. the plot was alluring, it was eventful and every scene felt important. i wish we got to see more of it tho… the book was quite short and i feel like there could’ve been more to the story. i need to know what happened after that ending.

this book talks about self-hatred, friendship breakups, and queerness that i think are all important topics, especially for adolescents. i appreciate how they were discussed throughout the whole book so you get an even bigger picture and a higher level of understanding of those issues.

my only issue with the book was the pacing. it seemed a bit fast for my liking and everything happened in a blink of an eye. other than that, the book was phenomenal. i would definitely recommend it to you if you’re fond of quirky, out-of-the-ordinary, whimsical books!! and if you’ve never read any books that are like that, you might want to give this one a try. trust me, it’s so worth it!!

i’d like to thank netgalley, nadia shammas, and mad cave studios for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review <3

Fun, colourful, exciting and real.
The story of four very different friends who decide to celebrate Halloween by venturing into a cemetery at night. Here fate will lead them to awaken a dangerous wooden Automaton that will take them to an alternative world populated by bizarre, magical creatures born from the author's fervent imagination and beautifully represented by the colors of an illustrator and designer.
The story reminded me a bit of Alice in Wonderland, a bit of the Wizard of Oz, a sort of growth and affirmation story that leads the protagonists to confront themselves, with their weaknesses and insecurities.

Really nice, 100% recommended

I'm honest, the only flaw was the ending.
It wraps up very quickly and left a bad taste in my mouth. Not being able to do spoilers I can't say why, however this hasn't affected my opinion of the work.

Great story about love and appreciation, and acceptance of not only self but those around you. This graphic novel made it easy to follow along, but also visualize the story. Would definitely recommend 😊

The “people” they meet along the way had such cool character designs- the characters could be very annoying but I’m sure it’s part of the story lol, Garrett and Radwa>>>> tho 🫶 love them.

Confetti Realms is a quirky, queer Halloween fantasy romp. Four friends with complicated relationships trip into another world while trying to have a fun spooky night summoning ghosts. To get back home, they must work together to gather goods for a magical fortune teller - all before the end of the world party ends.

With high, but also ridiculous, stakes, this graphic novel features fantastical animal like people, unusual methods of transportation, and endless adventure. Even though I didn’t always like our main heroes and occasionally grew annoyed with their drama, I still wanted them to work it out. And the other characters were really well developed, making me love them a lot, even with less time in front of the reader. This graphic novel is worth the read and is great for anyone who loves a spooky vibe.

I loved that the characters were so diverse and the fantastical setting was really fun. I thought that the story was a little confusing at times, but it was still a fun read and I loved the artwork and anthropomorphic characters in the parallel universe.

It has a cool Halloween vibe to it, I really enjoyed the diffrent characters and diffrent world settings . All the characters were interesting and I enjoyed very much. "Confetti Relams" follows four high schoolers on a journey through an alternate world on Halloween and they must complete a quest. While the art style is great I found the overall story to be lacking. It was really disjointed and confusing. I thought I just wasn't following the story well and even reread some of the pages before I realized that the story just leaves a lot of parts out and it's up to the reader to fill them in but the reader is given no context. The world seemed cool and I wish more of it had been explained and explored. The book did have really great diversity and that was cool to see.

Thank you to NetGalley for this e-arc of "Confetti Realms".

Confetti Realms is a trippy, Halloween graphic novel that is reminiscent of Tim Burton in its absurdity. I loved the illustrations in it, but wanted a little more from the story itself. I loved the representation present in the story from the human characters and the array of animals present when you enter the Confetti Realm. It's something I could see myself recommending to friends when its published.

Okay I loooove the art in this book! Such a fall vibe! There are a lot of mental health concepts which I really enjoyed how the author wrote that.

Confetti Realms is a bit of an adventurous tale of four friends who accidentally wish themselves into an odd world and strike a bargain to track down several sketchy and unusual individuals in order to get back to their own world. They end up delving into the emotions and situations they were too scared or distracted to face in the real world and maybe grow a little closer along the way.

First off - the artwork was absolutely enchanting! I was swept away into this magical world & felt like I was right there questing with our heroes! The storyline was bold and unique - tackling serious coming-of-age topics while also remaining whimsical and fun. I absolutely loved this graphic novel and cannot wait to see what Nadia Shammas comes up with next!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Mad Cave Studios for the advanced copy!

I received this from NetGalley.

So, I’ll start off by saying that the art is okay and I did not like the story. The world they were placed in was fun and I really enjoyed it and even had a few laughs.

But, I felt like I read more about these unlikeable teenagers more than the world and things they were sent to do. I wasn’t interested in their drama at all and wanted to know more about where they were. It was a slog for me to get through because of the weird and unnecessary drama.

Reading “Confetti Realms” felt like playing one of those mobile games, in which, in order to get a reward or find out some part of a story, you have to first complete a task/challenge. It was fun, I appreciate the representation (queer/gay, nonbinary, black), but I have read better. Although Oliver has my heart.

This was super interesting and I loved the diversity of characters as well as it being set on Halloween. Being transported to another world through a creepy puppet in a mausoleum felt very old school Goosebumps or Are You Afraid of the Dark? to me. I also really enjoyed the art style. The plot was a little all over the place and I didn't really understand what was going on some of the time, though. 3 stars for this one, would have liked it more if the story flowed better. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this e-ARC!

I think the niche genre of stories that have this vibe are always my favorite. It gave me Over the Garden Wall vibes (and thats one of my favorite shows.) The artwork was absolutely stunning and I liked all the characters and their dynamics. My only complaint is that the ending didn’t have enough closure for me. Overall this book was so good and I highly recommend you check it out when it comes out in time for Halloween!
