Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for this arc. I liked this story a lot. The characters had great chemistry and the story was great.

I am now anxiously awaiting the next installment in this series. A great read! My chores were missing me but I enjoyed every moment I spent with this book.

What a wonderful addition to The Lyon's Den! Mrs. Dove-Lyon sure has a reputation for matchmaking (albeit it may involve a bet) and this was no exception. Ms. Ewing's talent shines in this tale. Every emotion is engaged as Moriah attempts to find her place in society. And who can resist a handsome man who thinks he's the right man to help her get there. A 10+ star read from a first rate author.

Moriah is a lady whose reputation has become tarnished due to the circumstances in her life. Vincent is a duke and knows full well what his duties are. He also knows no lady will see him for the person he is, they will only see his title. Through the ever-popular machinations of Mrs. Dove-Lyon, Vincent and Moriah meet and their developing romance was sweet. But then Moriah's life is threatened multiple times, and Vincent is determined to find out who wants to cause her harm.
The story was exciting, filled with mystery, danger, and drama and the blossoming romance between Vincent and Moriah was beautiful. I enjoyed seeing them build their relationship as they spent more time together and got know each other and how Vincent felt compelled to restore her good name. The characters were well-developed and endearing and I couldn't help but become invested in their story. I like the premise of these stories and how Mrs. Dove-Lyon's interferences, however odd or outrageous they may be, always end up working out for the best. This series is so addictive, I am always looking forward to the next one. A great addition to the series!
I received a complimentary copy from Dragonblade Publishing and Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

To Claim a Lyon’s Heart. Can Vincent be my hero too? Moriah is so lucky to have a good man like him by her side and fighting for her. The main story, which is the romance between the two characters, Vincent and Moriah was so sweet. The romance is a slow burn, but this is a short story that shares with the reader their story.
The plot to find who is targeting Moriah is good. I was shocked with how it ended. Needless to say that I was entertained. The beautiful part of the story of course is the love story. The romance is told like any girl’s dream to meet the man of her dreams.
I hope that you will enjoy reading this story like I did. I give this story two snaps and a, twist. Until next time my fellow readers. Read on! I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I hate to do this because I usually enjoy Sherry Ewing but I was very disappointed in this. The characters were just not good I just was not in love.

A Match for Moriah
A cruel fate forced Moriah to become a mistress, and the ton is merciless. Moriah was blessed with good friends, and one of them paid Mrs. Dove-Lyon, an excellent and most unconventional matchmaker, to help Moriah to find a husband.
When Vincent saw Moriah on the stairs at the Lyon's Den, he mistook her for a prostitute, an inauspicious beginning, to be sure. Then, he lost a bet, and his task was to escort Moriah around the ton and improve her reputation. However, it was not just a bad reputation that Moriah must fear; someone was trying to kill her. It was good that she had Vincent on her side. Despite his first blunder, Moriah quickly captured Vincent’s heart. Now, he would do everything he could to help her.
Who was trying to kill Moriah, and why? Would Vincent be able to find the culprit before he hurts Moriah? What about Moriah’s reputation? Could Vincent help her to salvage it despite her tarnished past? I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to those who like historical romance with mystery. I read the story in one sitting and found it delightful.

Now THAT's what friends are for! Cassandra, best girlfriend of our heroine, Moriah, arranges for magnificent matchmaker, Mrs. Dove-Lyon, to pair her friend up and help her take a proper place in society. Moriah has gone through it but survived, although with a damaged rep. Our hero is Vincent. After shaking our heads at him for saying some dumb stuff to Moriah,, we do start to love him and hope for him to get it together and get with Moriah. Great addition to the connected Lyons world.

A lovely romance emerges out of a desperate situation when Moriah Henshaw is sponsored by her friend to have the Black Widow of Whitehall arrange a match for her. This Mrs. Dove-Lyon does in her usual style, manipulating a situation to her satisfaction, but ultimately it is one that both Moriah and Vincent St. John need to mend their hearts and their lives. Not everyone is happy about the match, but they are shown for what they are, and the novel comes to a beautiful conclusion. I received a copy of this novel as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Vincent St. John, Marquis of Saxton, knows it's time to find a wife. Losing a bet to Mrs. Dove-Lyon, may bring him good fortune, whether he wants it or not. Mrs. Moriah Henshaw has had to make choices not always respectable to survive. When a friend sets up an appointment with Mrs. Dove-Lyon, Moriah hopes to find a husband to help raise her respectability. Vincent and Moriah's first meeting doesn't go off too well, but it isn't long before the two of them form a bond. A bond that could be broken by a murderer. Not much interaction with Mrs. Dove-Lyon, which is a pity. Her mysterious ways and constant interference is part of the charm of this series. Little description with an open bedroom door.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

To Claim a Lyon's Heart
by Sherry Ewing
Another wonderful addition to this engaging series with the black widow match maker that never gets old!
Vincent is being pressured to marry and a wager with Mrs Dove-Lyon at the Lyon's Den is made, Moriah only wants to get her place back into society after he husband left her and she had survived as best she could.
As these two come together, secrets become known and love has a chance to blossom. I love how she was not fond of Vincent but than falls in love

I like where Sherry Ewing is found with this series. It is definitely engaging. I liked how all the friends jumped in there and support each other and the others choice. I also enjoyed how she portrayed Mrs. Dove-Lyon.
I recieved a free copy so that I might tell you what I honestly think. Hope you enjoyed my review. Now go enjoy the book.

Good book. We first met Moriah in The Talons of a Lyon, where she befriended the heroine Seraphina, who was trying to regain custody of her children. At the end of that book, we learn that Moriah wants to reclaim her reputation and that Mrs. Dove-Lyon has enlisted Vincent St. John, Marquis of Saxton, to assist her. This is their story.
The story opens as Vincent endures a visit from his parents, who want him to settle down and find a wife from among the season's debutantes. But Vincent is tired of women who only see his money, his title, and what he will one day inherit. He has the example of a loving marriage with his parents and wants to find someone who sees who he is, not what he is. He agrees to attend a few balls but makes no promises about results. Then he joins his friends at the Lyon's Den that evening.
Moriah is a woman with a tarnished reputation. After her parents' deaths left her penniless and her grandfather disowned her, she was lucky to find a man who wanted to marry her. But within two years, she discovered he had a gambling problem, and his debts came home to roost upon his death. Once again, she was left with nothing and was forced to look for a benefactor to survive. Over the years, she had some that were good and others that weren't. Then her last benefactor, who had no relatives, left everything he had to her. She can now support herself and ignore society.
Then her friend Cassandra informs Moriah that she has engaged Mrs. Dove-Lyons to find her a husband and return Moriah to the society where she belongs. Their trip to the Lyon's Den that evening is eye-opening for Moriah, who sees a man who had caught her attention earlier in the day. That man is Vincent, who is somewhat the worse for wear from drinking and mistakes Moriah for one of the working girls. The encounter goes poorly for Vincent, and I loved seeing Moriah blast him. Over the next few nights, neither has been able to forget the other. It is no surprise to the reader that the man Mrs. Dove-Lyon picks for Moriah is Vincent.
The stakes tonight are that the loser of the card game must take the woman of Mrs. Dove-Lyon's choosing to a ball. He suspects that the fix is already in and that he will be the loser. To say that Moriah is unhappy with her chosen escort would be putting it mildly, and their introduction in the garden gets off to a rough start. Vincent is surprised but pleased to discover that Moriah has no idea who he is and finds himself looking forward to the ball the next night.
I enjoyed watching this relationship develop. Moriah's arrival at her first ball in many years started the tongues wagging immediately. Vincent wasted no time greeting her as the sparks continued to fly, thanks to his somewhat misplaced sense of humor. Vincent is a good man determined to help Moriah regain her place in society. I enjoyed their time at the ball and seeing the connection between them. Vincent is vocal in his support of her and is intrigued by her.
I enjoyed seeing them spend time together and grow closer, though there are some obstacles to overcome. Moriah's reputation, though, seems to be dealt with easily. Vincent's mother is not initially a fan, though Vincent quickly brings her around. I loved seeing Moriah relax in Vincent's company as her worries about her reputation damaging his faded in her growing acceptance. And most worrying, someone appears to be trying to kill her. Three unexplained accidents in quick succession have Vincent looking for whoever has a grudge against Moriah. My mind immediately went to one person as the most likely culprit. I liked Vincent's devotion to Moriah's safety as his feelings for her deepened. When the threats against Moriah come to a head, it reveals a far deeper plot against her. The resolution of this issue was fantastic, and I loved Moriah's active participation.
I loved how everything came together to help Moriah. Vincent's friends lend a hand in trying to discover who has it out for Moriah. They also provide an opportunity for Moriah to acquire another champion in her quest to restore her reputation. I loved the scene at that ball as its hostess gives her stamp of approval and shows her understanding of the challenges Moriah faced. That's not Moriah's only surprise, and I enjoyed seeing her happiness as her dreams came true. I hope to see more of them in future books.
The epilogue was a terrific setup for the next book in this subset of the Lyon's Den series. Cassandra visits Mrs. Dove-Lyon to arrange help for the next one of her friends to receive her assistance. I like Cassandra's plans to help those friends regain the lives they deserve, and I look forward to reading their stories. I expect that Cassandra will be the final recipient of Mrs. Dove-Lyon's assistance and that there is a foreshadowing of who will be her hero.

This is a fun, short read. Vincent and Moriah are such interesting, endearing, relatable characters. I thoroughly enjoyed both the romance and the mystery aspects of the story. Their meet cute is both unique and very fitting for these characters and their situations. I loved the premise of this story. I enjoyed the secondary characters and what they added to the story. I especially like the friend’s relationships and how each of the main characters dealt with their respective family.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Rejected by her family and left destitute by her late husband, Moriah Henshaw has had to make difficult and scandalous choices to survive. Her second husband left her quite well-off. What he was not able to restore was her place in society. When a friend from the Wicked Widow’s Club pays an exorbitant amount of money to Bessie Dove-Lyon for match-making services, Moriah can’t let her down. To escape boredom and parental pressure to marry, Vincent St. John, Marquis of Saxton, and a friend decide to go and make a wager at the Lyon’s Den. He loses his wager and is introduced to Moriah. He is determined to help Moriah regain her place in Society. Neither of them expects to fall in love. While the two of them work on ideas for her return to Society, a new and dangerous mystery finds them. Someone is trying to harm Moriah. This is an interesting and heartwarming story with another wonderful match courtesy of Mrs. Bessie Dove-Lyon. There is a lovely heroine who has had a difficult time, a protective, kind, and determined hero, a bit of fun, a villain who seeks revenge, and a happy ending. I look for to stories of the other Wicked Widows.

Another wonderful addition to this engaging series that never gets old!
Vincent is being pressured to marry and a wager with Mrs Dove-Lyon at the Lyon's Den is made, with no hope of coming about.
Moriah only wants to get her place back into society after he husband left her and she had survived as best she could.
As these two come together, secrets become known and love has a chance to blossom!

Vincent St. John, Marquis of Saxton, knows full well his duties to the duchy. His responsibilities have been drilled into him since his birth. He has no chance of finding a bride who will see him for who he truly is; they only see the title, not the man. A bet with Mrs. Dove-Lyon, the Black Widow of Whitehall, is just a diversion. Mrs. Moriah Henshaw has known her fair share of despair. The death of her parents and later her husband left her destitute with no option but to become a man’s mistress. Years later, her tarnished reputation outweighs her excellent birth, and keeps her from being accepted back into society. When her friend pays an outrageous sum to Mrs. Dove-Lyon to find Moriah a husband, Moriah cannot believe she will win anything. When Vincent meets Moriah, he becomes determined to return her to her rightful place in society. But one accident after another threatens Moriah’s life.
Another delightful & charming read, whilst these novellas are stand alones this one features some of the characters from “The Talons of a Lyon". I loved both Vincent & Moriah & loved their story, he's the heir to a dukedom who after losing a bet finds he's won a true prize. Moriah hasn’t had an easy life & as more of her backstory is revealed the more sympathy I had for her & admired her for her strength. There's the mystery of accidents that happen to Moriah & the full denouement is chilling as well as a surprise. A well written engrossing romance
My review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
