I liked this book. I'm looking forward to trying out some of the strategies to help with my anxiety symptoms.
Easy to digest with a few tips that can be taken. It was centric on the authors experience but there was an effort to generalize. It is a helpful and quick resource that is a good asset to therapy, medication, etc. depending on the need of the individual. As something you can reach for anytime, it can certainly be helpful.
This book wasn't what I expected. Without getting too personal, I think the issue for me is that the anxiety root causes identified by the author aren't very similar to mine.
A quick scan through the well designed action lists showed me that while many are relevant to all of us (meditate, eat better, get enough sleep, cut stimulants out of our diet), the journaling and thought exercises didn't resonate with me.
All that being said, I think this book would be quite useful for the right audience.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I think putting your best foot forward and always looking ahead not behind is such an important trait for any human being to have. Now, this is easier said than done, but something that we can all work on. Working and redefining ourselves is the epitome of being human. I think that sometimes we become so caught up on the hype and trying to please others before we please ourselves is so detrimental.
This author was able to bring out those lessons that we need to hear and learn in order to become our best selves!
This book is a great meditative outline for reducing the symptoms of anxiety. The prompts at the end of the chapters build upon themselves to create a structure of learning from anxious moments. This book would go well with an anxiety journal, and the weekly checklists in this book provide support using diet, exercise, nature, and relaxation techniques. I think this book is a good self-help tool, and I think it would be valuable to our library collection.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!
Not going to lie, I’m a little skeptical of trying something out related to hypnotherapy, but I’m willing to go for it if it could help as my anxiety is at an all time high.
I liked this one! I think this book can be really helpful. I would never encourage a book alone without therapy but I think this is a really good place to start or good for someone with mild to moderate anxiety.
I have read many anxiety support books. This one is practical and has strategies most people will find helpful.
This book is a 12-week program that helps people with "high-functioning anxiety" like perfectionism and high-performance pressures. It addresses both the psychological and physical factors behind anxiety, and it offers holistic solutions and exercises to move toward better health.
Wow!what a wonderful self help book foe those suffering from high functioning anxiety. Great suggestions on how to calm the system down. A must for your bookshelf.
Not written in a way that makes you feel only doctors or medical professionals can understand. My journey with anxiety has being going on for as long as I can remember although in the last few years it has gotten much worse. This book touches on so many issues that I feel but mentions things that few other books have. I think this is a book that many physiologist will recommend to patients as part of CBT.
I found this book to be very helpful for dealing with my own anxiety. It brought new tips and advice to put into place. I enjoyed the journal prompts at the end of each chapter. I would suggest this book to friends and family. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. I am giving it five stars.
