Me Without You by Aussie author Kelly Rimmer is a heartbreaking, unforgettable and moving love story that is beautifully written. I’ve read a few books by this author now and she is fast becoming another favorite author of mine. I absolutely loved this story, but I must warn readers to have the tissue box nice and handy as you will need them. It is absolutely incredible. I will admit that I did not really read what the book was about before I started reading it, which is something I usually do, and I was not disappointed. I connected with these characters from the very beginning. I am a very visual reader and I imagine every detail of what I am reading, in my head, as if I am watching a movie as I go along. Highly recommended.
This was such a cute romance book about two complete opposites who click but don’t want to commit to a relationship. Rimmer is a great romance storyteller, and I really enjoyed how she brought this story to life. I loved the storyline of this book as I was hooked on the story from the beginning. The characters were great and I felt connected with their stories. As each was completely opposite, I was fascinated with the way they saw one another. The romance was the cutest part but I do have to say that it was getting very complicated at some parts. This story will break your heart so bring tissues if you are a crier. And readers let me warn you that you will not get a HEA that you think you will get.

A powerful story that proves love can hurt in an instant yet heal the brokenness, open doors and provide so much hope and gratitude.
I laughed, I cried and I loved this book. I didn’t expect to feel so emotional about this story, but Lilah and Callum were exceptional characters that were likeable and relatable.
Lilah and Callum were not supposed to fall in love, it went against the rules.. but they did. It shocked Lilah, who knew deep down how much loving and being loved by Callum would hurt them both. But what she wasn’t prepared for was the amount of life and love they were able to pack into such a short amount of time.
Callum Roberts is not looking for love when he meets Lilah McDonald. He feels that she is keeping something from him but cannot resist the feelings he has for her. lilah falls for him even though the relationship has no future. She realizes that she either has to share her secret or end the relationship.
Thanks to Kelly Rimmer and Forever (Grand Central Publishing)
Me Without You is a story of life, love, and healing. Following the lives of Lilah and Callum, two busy working professionals, this story unfolds as their paths cross on a ferry after work. ,At times I felt the story was slower moving than I typically enjoy in a book, but the themes of this book made it worth it for me in the end. Without spoiling the plot, I can say this book is a reminder to live your life well, connect with others along the way, and never be afraid to open your heart. Thank you to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for the advanced copy of this book, all opinions are my own.
This was the first book I have read of Kelly Rimmer. This book was beautifully written. You will fall in love with Lilah and Callum. This book will grab you and won't let you go until the end. Even then you want more. This book will make you happy but also break your heart. It's worth every minute of it. I highly recommend this book!!

Beautiful and heartbreaking! this book made me sob! Thank you- highly recommend this read. It was incredible, truly.
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I have read historical dramas by Kelly Rimmer, this is my first romance by her. It was a little slow at first but it really picked. The characters were well created, making them come alive on the page. Callum and Lilah may have had their differences but their love brought them together. This novel was both heartbreaking and beautiful, as they dealt with Lilah’s illness.
Beautiful, heartbreaking. I had tears streaming down my face. Longer review coming soon. Thank you to the publisher and author for this ARC.
This is the story of Callum and Lilah.
I was drawn to this book because I have read others by the author and enjoyed them. I did not realize that this one is actually a re-release of an earlier book.
Callum and Lilah meet at the beginning. Their relationship starts off contentiously right from the start and continues that way. For much of the book it is a non-relationship. It is obvious that something is going on in the background but it does not come to light until the book is well into the second half. While I did know the secret because of a blurb I had read, I did not enjoy the way it was playing out. The combativeness of two people in a relationship just wore me out.
Callum fell in love quickly and hard, but Lilah kept him at a distance even though she seemed to enjoy being with him. There turn out to be reasons for her behaviour. I wish these reasons had been revealed earlier.
I slogged through the first part of the book. To me, it just seemed to be the same push and pull between the characters, over and over. The last half was a huge improvement. I found it enlightening and much more interesting. I also learned that there is a huge difference between giving up and acceptance.
The ending was very dramatic. Heartfelt and emotional.
I think if the structure of the book was changed, it would have appealed to me more. But, there were a lot of similarities to Jojo Moyes Me Before You. Even the title is close.
Such a hard book to rate. I can only give the first part 2 stars. It was such a slog for me. I'm not sure what made me push on but in the end, I was glad I did. I see from the other reviews that I am in the minority. But the last part was 5 stars. Such a difference. That leaves me with 3.5 which I will promote to 4 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the Advance Readers Copy.
Me Without You by Kelly Rimmer is being published in paperback by Forever- October 10th.
If you love books like Me Before You or The Notebook you'll enjoy this beautiful love story between Lilah and Callum.
This is a book about how love can break our hearts but also heal them. It took me a few chapters to get into the story but once I did, I didn't want to put her book down.
It's beautiful and heartbreaking but real. I expected to cry more so have some tissues nearby.
This was an absolute beautiful poignant story. It contains Love, love lost, family, friends and just a perfect example of living your life to the fullest no matter what the/your circumstances are. Also a great lesson in staying strong in your convictions. I could barely get through the ending and I just loved this wonderfully written story.
Thank you to Netgalley, Grand Central Publishing Forever and the Author Kelly Rimmer for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I tried this one and just didn't feel the chemistry - it felt forced/ fake - I wasn't really invested at all.
A charming romance between two people who meet and connect instantly. I really enjoyed Callum and Lilah's characters. It's such an enjoyable experience to read about them falling in love despite reservations. Of course, the other shoe drops, which was made apparent by the title. But overall, I really enjoyed this read and getting to know Callum and Lilah.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC. All thoughts are my own.
Admittedly, I went into this book blind, only picked it up because I have loved Kelly Rimmer’s other books. I love her story telling and that came through in this title. Lilah and Cal’s meet cute is one of my favorites. I loved the beginnings of their relationship. The pacing was off for me and the middle dragged. But the ending packed the emotional punch promised.
This was such a good book. I would have finished it sooner if I hadn't been so busy at work. I really want to find out what happened between Lilah and Callum. It had really deep and beautiful message.
Wow, what a beautiful and heartbreaking love story. The characters were perfectly flawed - they remind you of your friends, past dates, or even past loves. It is hard to review without giving it away, but their love story feels real. It does not feel forced or insincere, but quite the opposite. You enjoy reading about their life and their love story. But this book will also completely break you. Their story has a heartbreaking end - but not for the reasons you may think.
Callum doesn't believe in love at first sight, however that is exactly what happens when he meets Lilah. They are opposites, but can't stay apart. However, Lilah has a secret that will destroy Callum. Does she end their relationship or share her news, a difficult decision when both choices will break his heart.
Thank you Netgalley for my advanced reader copy.
So nicely written and heartbreaking. I love her writing! This was a tough subject to tackle- falling in love while having a terminal disease. I was struck by how realistic the end of life passages were. And I like the positive ending after such a tragic loss. Great read!
You just know sometimes when you start a book that you are going to love it and I fell in love with Lilah and Callum from the first few pages. Lilah is a strong, independent, determined, and a “force of nature” - my kind of girl. Callum is a the All Australian kind of guy who’s never lost himself in the love of a beautiful woman and has cut himself off from his family and his true passions. They are so different yet alike and also compliment each other so well. Tender story of how grief, hope and love mold and influence you yet bring growth grow as well.
Oh my gosh, this book reeled me in and kept me hooked the entire time. I didn’t wanna put it down! It reminds me a lot of CoHo in how it rips your heart out and puts it back in piece by piece. Loved!
