OMGSH I have never been so torn up over a book!! I finished this story in one day! Grace Woods did an excellent job with the emotional aspects of the story. Ashley and Luke are polar opposites with shambles from their past. Ashley’s a science teacher who LOVES helping the Earth and Luke is a dynasty from an oil company who loves “drilling” in more ways than one! 😜 The two see eye to eye on almost nothing and yet have such good chemistry that it’s hard for them to stay away from each other! If you love puns, banter, and spice as well as some heart wrenching, emotional, swoony content you will LOVE this book! VERY impatiently waiting for the two sequels.

Ohmygawd I just devoured this book! I absolutely love when characters meet and it's not the right time then they randomly are forced together.
Two like minds that meet on a random book outing/ski event turns into a billionaire romance with the fmc being an eco activist. They are at odds with their take on what he does for a living that doesn’t fit with what she does.

Things just get so complicated the more they reveal about themselves and their pasts. Not everyone has a perfect past. We all have traumas or grief that we keep to ourselves until something brings it to the forefront.

Loved the spice in this one and the scenes. The depth of the characters and the communication.

But I was not a fan of all the women in his life that made her feel like trash because they were jealous of his time with her. Wished she said something or he noticed it. But there isn't really a good way to do that without making it worse or looking jealous.

But I definitely enjoyed this one! It pulled a lot of emotions, good and bad, out of me.

Thank you gracewoodsromance for the gifted copy for my honest and voluntary review.

The cover really attracted me bc I'm strongly drawn to purple. The premise was interesting, and I enjoyed the main character. This book is too spicy for me though so I DNF.

what can you expect --opposites attract, rivals to lovers.....keeps you interested. Thank you NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for a review.

This unfortunately was not for me. I found it really hard to connect with the characters even though I’m here for more teacher representation!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc ebook in exchange for an honest review.

Not the best book out there. Ashley's character is a little shallow. Right from the beginning she views Luke having sex with her. Like all the time she interacts with him. And the duplicity of being an environmentalist living a non environment friendly life no no no.
A little too judgemental for my liking

I did like the idea of a steamea program.

Full disclosure: I did not finish this book, I got to chapter 12 and left it. It was very hard for me to even read that long. I personally just did not connect with Ashley. To me, its confusing that she is this environmentalist who is soooo against anything that is bad for the earth, when it comes to Luke, but she can take an airplane, drive a car, etc. its like how can you be upset that Luke drives a "gas guzzler" but you don't drive a eco friendly car, lol. She just tried to make excuses to not be with him, when the whole time she is literally only thinking of sleeping with him. Got old, quick. Also, too much french during intimate moments. I don't want to have to look up (or look to the footnotes) when I am reading smut. I am sure this is a great book but it just wasn't for me!!

Great book, I can’t wait to read book 2. Does Jessica get the guy. Which guy does she get? I love the bond that she has with her friends, the escape with book club would be a dream come true. Thanks to NetGalley & Purple Ink LLC for the chance to read this ARC.

Ashley is a divorcee who teaches at a high school but has big dreams and plans for her future.
Luke’s family owning the oil company that Ashley clearly despises set the ton for a lot of things they both had to deal with and go through. Ashley runs into him at a bookstore and turns him down but surprisingly meets him again. They gradually open up to one another.

The twist arises when Ashley discovers that he is the VP of an international oil company, directly conflicting with her values. Despite this, they persist in getting to know each other, and he becomes instrumental in establishing a nonprofit supporting her cause. I’ve loved this book so much! I could not put it down and I’m ready for the second book already.

“To Be Continued” has comparisons to authors that bring both brains for FMC and the steam to make a girl blush, you know I jumped right into this story!

Ashley, a devoted teacher and environmental activist, unexpectedly encounters a charming man at the bookstore, leaving her unable to shake thoughts of him. Destiny brings them together again during a girls' trip, and as they gradually open up to one another, an undeniable connection forms.

The twist arises when Ashley discovers that he is the VP of an international oil company, directly conflicting with her values. Despite this, they persist in getting to know each other, and he becomes instrumental in establishing a nonprofit supporting her cause.

I found myself engrossed in the story, fervently turning pages to uncover the next chapter. Now, I eagerly anticipate delving into the sequels, eager to continue this enthralling series. Special thanks to NetGalley and Grace Woods for the opportunity to enjoy this ARC!

This was a wild steamy ride! Ashley, the main character, is this fabulous environmental activist and science teacher who bumps into Luke, a billionaire oil guy, at a bookstore. Their chemistry is insane, but get this – he's the VP of the oil company she protests! Drama alert! Luke's seduction skills are top-notch, and I blushed like crazy. Elena Wolfe nailed it with her sultry storytelling performance in this audiobook. Her narration was spot-on and added so much depth to the characters. Loved it! Sure, some parts felt repetitive, and there was a mild cliffhanger, but overall, I enjoyed it. Give it a shot if you dig spicy romances with billionaires and a touch of activism. I can't wait for the following books in the trilogy!

This was an ok book:)

What I liked:
The meetcute at the bookstore and when they met again on the trip. I also really enjoyed the anticipation in the beginning! I also really liked that Luke was working on himself by going to therapy etc and I liked that they communicated well.

What I didn’t like:
Ashley’s character was a little inconsistent imo. I don’t mind her being an environmental activist but she would make excuses for herself but these excuses were not good enough for Luke (like her taking a private plane with her friends was ok but Luke giving her a watch or simply being born into a family that run an oil company was not - even when he said they were doing research to look for alternatives she still wasn’t satisfied bc he hadn’t done something about it yet) A big part of Ashley’s character was the want/need to change the people around her which I didn’t particularly care for. The book also felt a little repetitive in some parts.

Unfortunately I have to DNF a book from netgalley for the first time.
Nothing against the book, I just don't believe it's for me. But isn't that the truth to every book that we end up not liking?

When I read the synopsis I was really excited and thought I'd love it. It seemed something right up my alley.
But I've spent the last 2 weeks trying to read it and I can't seem to able to power it through, unfortunately. The premise is good, it's just starting slow and I can't keep my focus long enough. I'll give it another shot later because it does seem interesting to me. I'm probably just not in the right mood at the moment.

OH I ATE THIS UP! This was definitely Ali Hazelwood-esque with the academia background and the women in stem shoutout. The angst in the beginning was so good and even then Luke is one of those MMC that you keep thinking about after the book ends. Really enjoyed it!

I did not expect this book to be so good. And now I'm excited for the next book in this series.

Ashley Barris is a science teacher and an environmental activist who isn't looking for any kind of relationship after her divorce two years ago. She meets Luke Dalton who is a billionaire oil mogul aka the vice president of the oil company she protests against. They have a bookstore meet cute which is every reader's dream🥰

And, Luke, his philosophical way of seduction was swoon-worthy. He was swoon-worthy, period.

What I didn't like was that the fmc was fantasizing about the mmc all the time in the starting of the book, even when they were trying to have a normal conversation which was kinda annoying. I had expected the cliffhanger to be more intriguing but it wasn't.

Read if you like:
women in stem (or steamea)
hot billionaire
role play
spicy romance

Roses:🌹🌹
Loved the meet cute at the bookstore and then meeting again during the trip. The angst in the beginning was so great and Luke was such a great love interest. Loved that Luke was working on himself to hopefully create a good way through his trauma. The steamy scenes were very top notch so that was a plus.

I didn’t enjoy all the French during the romantic scenes in the beginning. It was starting to get too much and took away from the scene. Right now, I don’t like Ashley at all. If she’s that big of an environmentalist then she shouldn’t have dated him anyway. Because any time she spoke about a cause she was into it came across preachy and oddly misplaced. Like with the scene with the watch but she can fly on private planes?? It doesn’t seem well thought out to me. There were multiple times I wanted to stop reading this book but then something attention getting happens just for me to be let down again. And I don’t mean like emotionally up and down, I mean that the plot just seemed choppy and the connections didn’t make total sense to be occurring at that time or things felt thrown in randomly. Ugh this story frustrated me cause I kinda liked it but I didn’t at the same time.

I think this is the first romance novel I've read where the male love interest...works on himself? Goes to therapy? Talks about his issues and communicates? It was something I didn't know I needed. And I know, there's less drama when a guy is mature! But honestly, there's plenty of drama to go around without it, so I was happy for the reprieve in this book.
My only frustrations were with the main character, but as this is a trilogy, I imagine she has some growing to do too. It was nothing that I felt made her unlikeable, just, you know, frustrating. For example, there were times when she was in the wrong and never apologized or admitted it. Instead, the love interest stepped up and compromised until they were on the same page. I also wish there was some more involved dialogue, less "I'm glad he and I discussed xyz..." and more "I need to talk to you about xyz". When she lost her job, did she tell him? How did he react? She mentions they discussed monogamy but it would have been interesting to be a part of that conversation.
I'm definitely invested in these characters and where they will end up - and if it'll be together. The issues they have to overcome are pretty substantial but, truly, I need them to overcome them because I love them together.
I look forward to the next installment and will be recommending this book to friends who are sick of the toxic bad boy trope.

Described as the brains of Ali Hazelwood and the steam of Sierra Simone, I knew I wanted to read this one! Ashley is a teacher and an environmental activist. She runs into an attractive man at the bookstore and she can’t stop thinking about his. He then turns up when she’s on a girls trip. They slowly get to know each other more and they both feel a connection. She soon find out he’s the VP of international oil company aka the opposite of everything she stands for. However, they continue getting to know each other and he helps her set up a non profit that helps her cause. So, she thinks she can change him. This book good!! I was turning pages to figure out what happened next. I’m deforested to read book 2 & 3 in the series too.

Thank you NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.
