This book wasn't what I thought I was going to read. It was SO. MUCH. BETTER!

I was positively surprised by the perfect banter, the humour, the perfectly drawned characters... I laughed so much, I cried, I snorted so often, I grew attached to Thea and Kade (and, yes, to Jackie too). I loved the self-improvement dimension of the story, how Thea decide to take her fate in her hands, to go waaaay outside of her comfort zone, and it pays off great! And the spice. I didn't know there was spice in that book and I don't ever want to go back now.

If you like your books with spice, lot of self-derision (80's themed wedding anyone?), great humor, but with a touch of personal growth on the side.... This one is PERFECT for you.

Avery Flynn is a new-to-me author. I'm now curious to see if her other books are as great as this one.

Please note that I received a complimentary e-copy of the book through NetGalley as part as a TLC book tour. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I loved this book. it was instant love between Thea Pope, the shy paleontologist, and Kade St. James, the true crime author. They both met at their sibling’s reality tv show wedding. Sounds horrible? Yeah, it was. I have never read a book with an instant love trope so it was a great start as I liked it.

The story was in the third pov which was super weird for me as I don’t like that way of writing. But it was okay to give it a try.

The entire book takes place around a week but the physical chemistry between the two was immediate. They got to know each other more and more through the wedding things.
I love how the author mentioned alcoholism and its effect on children and families. There was too much miscommunication in both families. But I am glad all the misunderstandings were clear at the end of the wedding.

I loved that the characters worked through these struggles and you saw character development - not only within themselves but also in how they acted towards each other. I love how therapy helped Thea in taking a stand for herself.

I love that we got to read about family trauma, sibling bonds, mother-child-stained relationships, emotional struggles, and the excessive need for therapy.

Overall, it was a good book. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

I had to DNF this book. I didn't enjoy it in the slightest. I couldn't connect with either main character.

A little late writing the review, life got in the way. This story had all the emotions, love, lust, angry, and sadness. It was a good book to read and the spicy scenes were abundant and well done, so if you’re having a hard time reading this book then the lust between the two will keep you going.

Timid paleontologist Thea Pope has been dragged to Wyoming to participate in her high maintenance sister 80’s themed reality tv wedding. When her sister admits she never wanted Thea to attend the hurt is instant.Thea does the one thing she knows will get under her sister’s skin..to bang the best man and grooms brother, Kade St James. No strings attached for a week, what’s the worst that could happen?

3.5 stars for this story. This was my first novel by this author and I was pleasantly surprised! I enjoyed the banter, connection & spice between the MC’s. The plot focus on certain topics that you don’t see as much in romance novels. This was a quick read(less than 300 pages) and I didn’t want it to end! I did dock points as I think some groveling at the end should’ve been longer & I wanted to know where Kade stood with his mom. Also still felt Thea’s family was so awful and didn’t justify how they treated her. I’m excited to know this is start of a series ! I can’t wait to read the next story!

Did I hate almost every side character in this story? Or at least when it came to the FMCs family? Yes, absolutely.

A funny romcom featuring Thea who must return home to be maid of honor in her sister's quirky 80's themed reality show style wedding. The drama is high and constantly testing her boundaries being the more shy, introverted sister.

As someone that also has issues standing up for themselves and getting walked over, especially by those closest to us, I completely understand. There is a positive spin where she does know this and is in therapy, and I love positive mental health representation. However, there are some excuses given to side characters, especially the sister, on why they are so cruel and callus to the FMC, and I was side-eyeing them the whole time. They were terrible and I just wanted to whisk her away.

Kade brought me joy and gave us laughable moments as he and Thea begin to connect. The banter is wonderfully done and had me smiling, which was a nice reprieve from Thea's terrible family. Thea grows through this short time and pushes out of her comfort-zone and her growth was what I loved best.

Thank you so much to Entangled for the ARC!

I love a steamy romance with great character development and this one delivered. I absolutely loved Thea and could relate to her in many ways. She did not like to upset people and would often agree to do things even when she wanted to say no. The challenge her therapist gave her to try different trauma response besides Fawn, the one Thea regularly used, came up throughout the book and really helped learn more about herself. I liked that the story followed Kade as much as it followed Thea. He was such a sweet guy and I loved how protective he became of Thea especially when it came to her family. I loved the banter and conversations between Thea and Kade. I could really feel their chemistry and the way they helped one another in small ways was great. I could not get enough of this couple and the epilogue gave me great closure on their relationship.

Thank you @Entangled and @netgalley for the gifted copy.

Oh Thea and Kade! I loved getting to dig into their story. My heart went out to Thea, she's sweet, goes along with things and I loved seeing her growth from that. Kade is a bit grumpy, definitely set in his ways yet there's just something about her that gives him pause. They have a connection from the start, and seeing their relationship bloom, the fun, smiles, spice and even those conversations that came from the heart... loved that! Thea's passion for her work, the dinosaurs... it adds so much to her personality, and laughs! There are moments that the mean girls were pushing buttons but overall I had fun with this read. I need her sister's story and am looking forward to more from this author!

This is one of the best romantic comedies I’ve read in a long time. There were many moments of comedic gold that made me laugh. There were also great spicy scenes 🥵

I love when books can be both funny, spicy, and poignant in a way that builds on each of them.

There was excellent anxiety/panic rep in this book. It was also one of the best examples I’ve seen for how to show a character going to therapy AND applying what they learn there.

I originally got this as an arc from Netgalley and Entangled Publishing in exchange for my honest review. I ended up buying the audiobook when it came out so I could listen too. The narrators were great! Kirsten Leigh and Lance Greenfield did a great job.

I want to give this like a bazillion stars!!!

Flynn is a queen of the laugh out loud rom-com but she really outdid herself with this one. As a product of the 80’s myself, the images and descriptions of the attire, the hair and makeup and everything else brought up so many memories from high school and I found myself constantly smiling and shaking my head.

I loved everything about Thea and Kade together. In addition she does a great job with the sibling relationship between both Thea & Jackie and Dex & Kade.

Can’t wait to see where she goes with the next book!!

Avery Flynn's 'Anger Bang' is a tantalizing blend of passion and tenderness. The story revolves around Thea and Kade, two characters whose chemistry sets the pages ablaze. Their journey unfolds amidst Thea's sister's over-the-top '80s-themed reality-show wedding, where tensions run high. Seeking revenge, Thea turns to Kade, the groom's brother, for a night of passion that promises to shake things up. Flynn's skillful storytelling keeps readers engrossed as love, betrayal, and the consequences of impulsive actions take center stage.

The author's engaging writing style brings the characters to life, making their interactions feel genuine and heartfelt. The palpable connection between Thea and Kade is a highlight, capturing the reader's attention from the start.

'Anger Bang' is a captivating and steamy read that will satisfy fans of contemporary romance with a dash of revenge. Flynn's expert pacing ensures an immersive experience, making it difficult to put the book down. With its delightful mix of spice and sweetness, this tale earns a solid four stars out of five. Prepare to be swept away by Thea and Kade's passionate journey and the lingering questions it leaves behind.

Anger Bang definitely won a spot as one of my favorite romcoms of the year. Not only is this cover fun and exciting, but it screams old school. That is because our protagonist sister is getting married, and she's throwing a huge eighty's theme wedding.

I loved our protagonist, Thea Pope, who is a paleontologist. She loves dinosaurs so much that she even has a dinosaur inspired tattoo. Thea grew up in the spotlight thanks to her sister, who was a child star. Now, all grown-ups, her sister is still in showbiz but wants to show the world she can plan a super rad wedding. Unfortunately for Thea, her sister has turned into bridezilla, and on top of that, she finds out that she really wasn't welcome fully to the festivities.

So it's time for some revenge, which is where Kade St. James comes in. He's the brother of the groom and couldn't be anymore against this marriage. So both Kade and Thea create an unlikely alliance to get back at their siblings. After reading this book , I found my new bad boy book crush! Absolutely recommend this book. If you're looking for a fun and spicy romcom, definitely give this a shot.

Anger bang is a hilarious new book by @averyflynn. Thea is forced to go to a small town in Wyoming to take part in her sisters Live Stream 80s themed wedding. Thea has been dreading this trip and knows that it will be just another trip where her family walks all over her.

However, the brother of the groom, Kade, is the perfect surprise. He is rugged and hating this trip just as much as her. Their solution? An Anger Bang, a chance for Thea to get back at her sister and the two to have a no strings attached one week fling. That always works perfectly…

Kade and Thea both have a ton of family baggage and being surrounded by that baggage the two clung together and made the week bearable. They helped each other come out of their shells a bit but also provided an outlet to talk about their issues. They were great together and I loved watching Thea get stronger throughout the book! Kade was also perfection with all his dirty talk !

Excited for Walk of Shame coming in October!

If you want shenanigans all you have to do is pick up an Avery Flynn book. Her stories always make me laugh. Such is the case with this: Thea, a cute and nerdy paleontologist is required to attend and be in her sister’s ‘80s-themed wedding that’s being filmed for reality tv. It’s Jackie’s chance at keeping her career alive in Hollywood and Thea’s always been supportive. However, when she finds out Jackie never wanted her to be in her wedding party, she retaliates for the hurt. The best way to do that? Have sexy times with Jackie’s nemesis - the groom’s brother and best man, true crime author Kade St. James. Neither of them want to be involved in this epic farce of a wedding - their version of hell on earth so yes, banging it out for the week is the best way to relieve stress. She wants to keep it casual, but it’s he who catches feelings.

I loved that for a tough guy, Kade is attuned to Thea. In fact, there are quite a few things he’s attuned to although he isn’t ready to admit to those such as his estrangement from his mom. Thea’s sense of responsibility to be the dutiful sister becomes harder to bear as the demands of filming the wedding get more ridiculous. No longer happy to be treated like a doormat she rebels in small ways. Kade and Thea together are such a delightful and fun pair. They have some great steamy scenes and also several heartfelt moments. Kade falling for her first made me so happy. He’s the kind of tough guy hero I’m drawn to these days. This story has the perfect balance of lust and love.

This was enjoyable, steamy and funny. While I’m not one for reality shows (except GBBO), I didn’t mind that element in the story. The over the top scenarios were hilarious. I was team Thea and Kade (Thade?) from the get go. 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴 makes for excellent summer reading!

Thank you @netgalley & @entangled_publishing for my ARC.

Oh gosh, Anger Bang was SUCH a fun read! While the premise was a little wacky, the banter was hilarious, the spice was HOT, and I loved the characters. Awesome low stakes romcom that makes for a perfect palate cleanser!

Paleontologist Thea is NOT thrilled to be a bridesmaid in her actress sister Jackie's reality show wedding. While she's normally a total pushover, being surrounded by cameras and hounded by her bridezilla sister makes her a little ragey. Then she meets Kade, the groom's brother and best man who her sister absolutely hates. On impulse she proposes (on camera) that they "anger bang" each other - and they both sneak off to get their revenge in the form of orgasms. The both agree not to get attached, but Kade and Thea have a ton of chemistry and cannot stay away from each other. As they both slowly realize they feel more than lust for each other, they wonder whether their relationship can ever be more.

I loved how relatable Thea was. She's smart and normally a little shy, so though her behavior was a little cringey at times, it was totally understandable in context. Her random dinosaur comments literally made me laugh out loud. Kade, however, was a little less fleshed out as a character. He seemed pretty adamant about not doing relationships, yet he falls for Thea almost immediately. I loved his relationship with Thea though - he clearly has fun with her and is totally unapologetic about it. And y'all - the spice in this book totally surprised me! Much spicier than I expected, and it was all really good.

The entire premise of this book is insta-lust; Thea and Kade intentionally don't try to get to know each other for most of the book. That does make the ultimate declaration of love at the end a bit suspect, but the epilogue makes it clear that things end up ok. Despite a little suspension of disbelief, the humor, spice, and fun storyline absolutely make this worth reading.

The title and cover of this book totally sucked me in but Kade and Thea kept me planted on the couch while I devoured this book over the course of the day.
I laughed more than I had even hoped to because the banter was superior. The awkwardness of both main characters was fun and made them so easy to like. And when you add in their chemistry and steam, the terrible 80’s themed wedding shenanigans and the family drama, you get an awesome book that has you laughing out loud and tearing up (all the feels y’all)and smiling all the way to the end of an amazing HEA. This was my first read by Avery Flynn but I will be going on a deep dive down their backlist because this book was greatness.

This book is so much more than than the title lets on. I loved the career choices for the MCs, loved! I related to Thea so hard, as someone with anxiety and as a therapist myself I really liked her character and her struggles throughout the book. I also really enjoyed Kade and his family relationships. Flynn was able to create normal humans with real shitty issues and shitty family! I really struggled to like her sister but she did grow on me throughout. It was hot, really has to be with the title, and it lived up to it haha! Really enjoyed it. The epilogue took the whole dino thing a bit too far for my tastes but does not take away from the story at all.

I haven’t read Avery Flynn’s book before but heard wonderful things about her writing style and let me say that I was not disappointed. This was a fun story about Thea and Kade who go to their own sibling’s tv reality show wedding but things go unplanned for them. At first I was very nervous after seeing the cover but everything makes sense once you start the book. The plot is amazing for this book and let me tell you readers would not be bored with the story. I do have to say that there were some cringy moments for me but there was great bantering the story. The characters were very well written and I enjoyed the development between the characters. The romance had great amount of chemistry and steaminess that you wouldn’t expect. The ending was cute and I really enjoyed this story. I would for sure be reading more of Avery’s books in the future.

Tropes:
- forced proximity
- tv show feels
- revenge hookup
- enemies to lovers
- 2/5 spice

This is a story about two couples who are the main act at a reality tv wedding thats theme is the 80's. Its a week long destination wedding in Wyoming.

The stars are Dex and Kade St James. Dex is a TV/movie star and Kade is a mystery writer. Dex is also the groom and Kade is his best man. The other half of the couples are Thea and Jackie Pope. Jackie is the bride and reality tv star and Thea is her sister, bride's maid and Dino paleontologist.

Thea and Jackie are not close and when Thea gets insulted at the wedding, she decides to partner with Kade because Jackie hates him. And that's when this book starts layering the fun.

Instead of just sex, Thea and Kade end up becoming friends along with sex moments and the torture their siblings at the disaster of the wedding. Add in mothers who Kade and Thea have issues with, and this book was a lot of fun.

This is the perfect beach read with lots of light moments as Thea and Kade fall for each other while they have fun at the wedding of their siblings. I laughed a lot in this story and couple not put it down.
