I'm excited this is book 1 in a series.

This book was fun, but also dealt with some real life stuff - like family issues, insecurities, etc.

I adored Thea and grew to love Kade. Their banter was fun and flirty and they were so funny together. I was rooting for them all along!

I liked as they opened up and started sharing their personal lives.

And that Epilogue was the best!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for a copy of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.

I love Avery Flynn’s books, and I always jump at the chance to read one (I am also working through her back catalogue as we speak), but I think this was a good reminder that you don’t have to love everything an author has ever wrote – not everything is going to be for you! Unfortunately, this book was not for me, and I struggled to read through it. It had a lot of Avery’s signature snark and humor, which is what I love, and it has spicy scenes like her other books, but the ratio of relationship building to spice was not the best for me to read and enjoy. Now this is definitely a personal preference, but I need relationships to be based on more than just good sex, and I need to see that there is a reason that these two people are together. It doesn’t have to be full slow burn, but I need to see some kind of development between the two characters for me to believe it makes sense that they like each other. I understand that this book started due to an “Anger Bang” (which, I realize was the title but was also used an extensive amount as a phrase throughout the book) but it never really felt like they had any reason to keep talking to each other, other than sex. Maybe this is a realistic relationship development between non-Ace/Demi people but for me it just seemed too improbable.

Will I continue to read everything Avery writes? Absolutely. But this was a reminder for me (and hopefully I can remind you), that you don’t need to like 100% of an author’s work to like the author. Books have many audiences, and I was not it for this one.

A great read, the story of Kade and Thea. They meet at a wedding where he is best man and she is a bridesmaid. They are both reluctant to be there for a week long destination wedding, and make an agreement to help them get through it. What will happen when it is time to return to real life? I loved both characters and wanted everything to work out for them.
Can't wait for the next book in the series!

Now I'm one that is not of reality tv so I tend to not gravitate towards them in my books either, but when Avery Flynn writes a book it's always yes, please! I'm so glad I read this one because I would have missed out on one great book. This book had me laughing from beginning to end. Thea and Kade had me gobbling up the pages. They seem like the only two sane people in this circus of a wedding. This book went in directions I didn't see coming, but I'm here for it!! With a grand reality tv wedding being live streamed anything and everything can happen. My heart went out to Thea she is really having a hard time for a bit, but meeting the best man was a moment that changes the course of her life forever. I loved how the pact of an anger bang morphed into something so beautiful. This book is so good. It makes you get lost and forget all your troubles. It delivered on the laughs, feels, and heat! Kade and Thea have burning hot chemistry. I love that Thea is nerdy girl and Kade embraces that and finds it attractive. This is a must read!!

This is one of those books that has you laughing out loud one moment and fanning yourself the next and if you ask me it's the perfect combination of both.

When I started reading this one I was immediately drawn in by Thea, she's smart and has found a place for herself where she's happy and takes life a day. well, dig at a time.

As someone that has complicated relationships with some of my family, the relationship between Thea and her was so much fun to read, the sass, the snark, the hairspray, this one has it all and I love it and want more.

Speaking of wanting more, Kade is the perfect partner for Thea, and reading their story was an utter delight, I can't wait to read everything Avery Flynn writes.

If you're looking for the perfect summer read grab this book, if you're looking for a blast from the past (80's edition) grab this book, if you like dinosaurs grab this book, in case I haven't made it clear grab this book it's worth every second of your time.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for providing an advance copy of this E-Book, I have voluntarily read and reviewed it and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love a book that has great character development and this book has that. Not only do the main characters grow, but so do the supporting characters. Kade and Thea are at her sister and his brother’s wedding week; which is also a reality show. Kade is surly and gives off the leave me alone vibe, while Thea has never felt like her family understood her. When her sister admits she didn’t want Thea at the wedding, she decides to do the one thing her sister didn’t want, hook up with Kade.

Kade and Thea were actually perfect for each other and he realized it pretty early on. He just had to try to convince her of that. She didn’t believe he would want someone like her, so she had her walls up. Throughout the book you see glimpses of how they both truly feel and I loved how her sister helped her see the truth of things (and her mom did as well). I also liked that Kade’s brother helped him with some hard truths as well.

I wish we could have had some insight (more than there was) when it came to the brother and sister. I would have liked to see their conversation and how they came to admit what the wedding was truly about. Overall, I loved this book and would highly recommend it. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

A spicy romcom that I loved. Paleontologist, Thea just needs to get through her hollywood star sister's destination wedding with the 80's theme reality show. Her sister has turned into a bridezilla, the only thing to make this week survival is to hook up with the groom's brother, Kade. What's wrong with a week of fun and sex, with no strings attached until emotions get mixed in.

This book will have you laughing out loud many times. The first kiss, was perfect! Many drooling moments in the bedroom. I highly recommend.

How is this my first book by Avery Flynn? I will be digging heavily into her backlist. This book was an absolute delight friends. I started it on Sunday night and woke up to finish it on Monday morning. I was all in!

The plot, the characters, the steam - so, so good! Thea Pope is a shy paleontologist just trying to make it through her sister’s attention seeking reality TV wedding. Never one to make waves, Thea is the family pushover. But can she be pushed too far when she finds out that her sister never even wanted her at the wedding? In an uncharacteristic fit of rage and need for revenge, Thea confronts the best man and groom’s brother, Kade St. James, who her sister hates and propositions him for an anger bang.

What this unlikely pair can’t know is just how well suited they are for each other - both in and out of bed. Their chemistry sizzled! The emotions they brought out in each other made my heart melt. I was rooting for them so hard.

I loved how the plot explored alcoholism and its long lasting affects on children and families. Avery did not shy away from family trauma, sibling relationships, strained mother-child bonds, emotional struggles and the need for therapy. Yet, things never felt too heavy. It was just the right mix to make things emotional amidst all the reality tv and 80s themes craziness. If you are an 80s kid, like me, you won’t be able to stop laughing at the cabbage patch kid hairstyle challenge (that yarn hair y’all!), the heavily teased and hairsprayed hairstyles, the bright colors, the flounce, the men in short shorts. It was hilarious, nostalgia filled fabulousness!

This was a fun read with a wacky '80s-themed TV reality-show wedding setting. I liked Thea and Kade, and I enjoyed their story.

Avery Flynn's books are my favorite Rom-Com books ever! She always makes me laugh with finding a little heart and heat with each book and I can't seem to put them down. Thea and Kade have been dealt a rough hand when it comes to being in their siblings over the top 80's reality wedding but their need to survive together is hot and romantic and absolutely the Best! Avery Flynn is one of those authors that are amazing one click buys!

Happy pub day to Anger Bang!

Wow! Anger Bang by Avery Flynn was such a fun and steamy read.

Thea would rather be anywhere other than her sister’s nightmare of a reality tv show wedding. But as a fawner (people pleaser) she goes along with all of the ridiculous demands. But when Thea learns that her sister only included her because the producers made her, Thea sets out for revenge. And the hot best man who is also the groom’s brother is the perfect distraction. An anger bang seems like the perfect solution to get under her sister’s skin.

As a romcom there were lots of hilarious moments, especially in the wedding preparation scenes where the 80s theme was taken to the extreme. I really enjoyed Thea’s growth in learning how she reacts to stressful situations. I knew of fight or flight but didn’t know of the other two: fawn and freeze. This had me reflecting on how I react to stress.

The author carefully balanced the comedy with tougher topics of navigating family dynamics and reactions to stress and trauma.

Anger Bang by Avery Flinn, brings us the story of Thea Pope, she is a shy paleontologist who is involved in the preparations for her sister's wedding, who organizes a super wedding on an 80's-themed reality show and although Thea has been a good girl, putting up with everything from the obnoxious bridesmaids, the hideous dresses that go with the theme, her mother constantly smothering her with her comments and even her sister's bridezilla attitude, she gets fed up when her sister comments that she doesn't wanted her there only that the producers insisted, this breaks her and between the pain and anger of this comment she decides to take revenge on his sister and she will do it with none other than the man his sister can't stand and vice versa, the boyfriend's brother, Kade St. James, this hunk man and known author of true crime books is also involved in the week-long wedding madness, his world is about to change when the very angry sister of the bride makes him a proposition of benefits that follows transforming and becoming more complicated with increasingly intense feelings but they must face their past and the wounds they carry from it, as it continues to negatively impact their lives as they deal with the madness of the wedding.
This story is full of funny moments and crazy situations, but also of personal growth of the characters, which are so real that you will feel identified, you will laugh, you will cry and you will fall in love with them, the chemistry is wonderful, just like that the banter between Thea and Kade. I loved that not only the main characters end up having their moment of healing and growth, but the groom and bride and moms as well. This is a wonderfully funny and charming story, I was delighted with this story, for me it is the perfect combination of hilarious, gripping and moving. Highly recommended!

Anger Bang by Avery Flynn is such a fun and spicy rom com that I absolutely loved!

Thea is a heroine who is a paleontologist who loves dinosaurs. She is forced into her bridezilla sister's reality show wedding. She tries to get back at her by anger banging the best man, Kade.

I loved the 1980's themed wedding. Avery Flynn puts the com in rom com. This book was so funny, and the dinosaur puns I was laughing so hard!

This book was spicy and the chemistry was fire!

I loved all the drama, and I really liked the secondary characters as well that really added to the story.

I am looking forward to Astrid's story in the next book , Walk of Shame.

Anger Bang by Avery Flynn 🦖

This was my first book by Avery and I really enjoyed it! I was expecting a fun and spicy romance from the cover and description and it delivered! Thea is a shy paleontologist who is a bridesmaid in her sister's reality tv style, 80s themed wedding that is being live broadcasted. Her sister has turned into the ultimate bridezilla and Thea finds out that she was only in the wedding because the producers made her sister ask her. So Thea decides that the best thing to do is to is pick the one man at the wedding her sister can't stand, the groom's brother Kade, and anger bang him. What could go wrong with that?

This was just so much fun. There were times when it was a little bit ridiculous and silly, but in the best way. There's a bunch of banter between Thea and Kade and they had amazing chemistry. I loved how Thea was the nerdy, kind of shy sister but she is still shown to be strong and unafraid to do what she wants. (Because being nerdy and shy does not make you weak!)

This was told in the third person, which I don't usually love as it can sometimes take me out of being in the characters heads, but I really enjoyed it here! The entire book takes place over around a week, however it's not insta love in my opinion. Thea and Kade have physical chemistry pretty much immediately and then they get to know each other more through the silliness of the wedding festivities building up their emotional connection. Thea and Kade are bit of opposites with Thea being the quiet, keep to herself, focused on her job woman and Kade being the no commitments, bit more outgoing guy.

Overall a fun and spicy romance that also balances it out with some more serious topics without being too heavy. I'll definitely be checking out more of Avery's books in the future!

Anger Bang by Avery Flynn was full of laugh out loud moments, witty banter, hilarious accidents and people who make you laugh till the cheeks hurt. But it was also super sexy and nuclear hot. Theo and Cade are hotter than h3ll together! This forced proximity, strangers-to-friends with benefits-to-madly in love rom com is a full on entertainer!

Cutely awkward paleontologist Thea Pope and grumpy sexy true crime writer Cade St. James are being forced to attend their siblings' ridiculous 80s themed destination wedding aka reality TV show and also..take active part in the endless activities. Anger bang was their idea to take out their aggression passively on the bride( Thea's sister) and the groom ( Cade's brother). But the TV show stirred up way too many drama and opened up raw wounds..and they find themselves falling for each other.

I always love to read about nerdy heroines as they are the best. The full package. Thea is smart, witty, quirky, sweet and absolutely adorable with her awkwardness and totally oblivious to her sex appeal. Cade thought he would have to hide whole wedding but he was immediately attracted to Thea's sweet personality that is showing hint of spice. Oh I love myself a grumpy alpha and he has a dirty dirty mouth and even more dirty ideas for their sexcapades. The reality TV show producers were trying best to bring out messy reactions. Thea's fear of never being enough and hatred for confrontation make her hide her true beautiful heart. But Cade tilted her world and she started showing her fiery side more and more. Cade has his own scars and he was not ready to face them..but Thea made him realise that he has to learn to listen..to forgive..As I said, the sex scenes are over the top hot. Like panties melting, kindle burning kind of hot. They had this easy banter from the beginning that I enjoyed a lot. From complete strangers, they ended up being each other's support system and later, soulmates. It was one heartwarming journey.

This was a fun book but not exactly what I expected. I thought it was going to be more fun and more of a rom com. I found that the two characters did have a lot of past traumas and issues to work through and I was expecting a more light hearted and fun book. I still had fun with it but not my favorite. I also found the amount of her talking about dinosaurs to be kind of annoying but I feel that’s her job.

Anger Bang by Avery Flynn is by far one of the funnier romantic comedies I've read this year. I love this author as she always finds a fun way to bring a story to life and still provide all the steam we love in a good romance. I mean, an 80s themed wedding set in Wyoming with a bridezilla! Doesn't get much better then this. The main characters Thea and Kade are the best! Their banter and STEAM are off the charts. I highly recommend this book and always look forward to reading this author.

I tend to be a curious sort, but even if I weren’t, I think a book called Anger Bang with a T-rex in a tutu would pique my interest.

And the story is exactly as zany and silly and fun as the title and cover imply.

Set at an 80s-themed wedding between two C-list actors that is being livestreamed for an entire week, Anger Bang follows Thea and Kade, the siblings of the bride and groom – who decide to have revenge sex to get back at their ridiculous siblings.

So yeah, there is definitely a lot of spice here, but the book also does some emotional heavy-lifting: Thea is a chronic people pleaser who is in therapy, Kade has a massive chip on his shoulder when it comes to his mom, and their families are Not Great at communication. Which all boils down to a chaotic wedding that is headache-inducing for them (all the, uh, anger banging helps with that), but perfect for the viewers at home.

This is a fun, quick read with lots of nerdy banter and 80s jokes – it’s perfect for the next time you need a palate cleanser or something to help you climb out of a reading slump.

Holy buckets of wedding hell! A bridezilla, an 80s-themed destination wedding in Wyoming…in August, family conflicts, and it’s all being filmed for a reality TV special. It’s a recipe for disaster so sit back with your big bowl of popcorn for a lot of laughs, angst, and steamy sex play.

Anger Bang is told from dual third-person perspectives. It follows shy, paleontologist, doormat, and pissed-off Thea Pope, sister of Bridezilla, and grumpy, Sprite-drinking, crime writer, and all in for an anger bang with the funny hot bridesmaid, Kade St. James, brother of the groom. Thea finds out her sister didn’t want her in the wedding and heeding her therapist’s advice, she does a first and chooses a fight response by asking Kade (his sister’s nemesis and Thea’s fantasy) to have a week-long sex fest. Screw her entitled sister and her mother who caters to her, she’s going to have fun despite the cameras that are everywhere. Let the games begin!

I love Thea as she slowly changes from a timid, yes, girl, to a badass, bold woman who gives her all and stands up for herself. Her chemistry with Kade is off the charts as they hook up on lounge chairs, in tool sheds, and in RVs. Kade is so yummy with his dirty talk and his unyielding protection of Thea as he saves her from the humiliation of her sister’s wrath and the bright lights of the cameras. I can’t get enough of this man. He says such romantic and heartfelt things.

Kade is not happy with the ridiculous wedding, but he loves his brother and will stand by his decision to go through with the publicity stunt for a starring role in an action movie. However, Kade will not give his estranged mother a second chance after walking out on her family years ago. It’s lovely to see how Thea is one of the few people in his life that makes him smile and keeps him calm. So when they set rules for their fling such as no kissing and no personal information, it’s a major fail. They fall fast and hard, but they are out of their comfort zones and their pasts interfere and doubts appear. Kade is afraid of abandonment and Thea is afraid of falling back into her people-pleasing role. Taking good advice and making amends with family are in the cards for the lovers and everyone lives happily ever after.

Kade’s relationship with Dex, the groom, is typical brotherly love as they make jabs and declare their love in the way that males do. Jackie, Bridezilla, is unlikeable at first, but she finally opens up to Thea showing her own vulnerability and her respect and envy of her sister. As for the moms, misunderstandings are cleared up and their futures look promising.

If you enjoy laughter, angst, sexy love scenes, and redemption, give this very captivating and enjoyable book a try. I’m so glad I picked it up, and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Thank you to Ms. Flynn for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

An 80’s themed wedding, multitudes of lycra leisurewear and a BRIDEZILLA from Hell and yeah, she really is so bad she merits shouty capitals. What could possibly make her sister’s wedding worse for bridesmaid Thea? Throw in the fact its being filmed for reality TV and her sister doesn’t really want her in the bridal party, what else is a girl going to do but enjoy an anger bang with the the groom’s brother and best man Kade with the added bonus that the bride hates him. Maybe this wedding won’t be so bad after all!

Anger Bang had me laughing in parts and pulling at my heartstrings at others as the hero and heroine Kade and Thea embarked on their no-strings fling and the lengths they went to to evade the cameras filming their every moves. Their chemistry sizzled but bonus points to the author for adding some depth to the story and balancing out the humour by giving the characters some issues to work through. I’ll admit I found this romcom a bit of a slog to begin with but I’m so glad I stuck with it as by the time Thea reached Wyoming and the wedding I was hooked as I was bombarded with recollections of bridesmaid duties in the 80s. I’m sure I wore a similar dress to Thea’s in a glorious shade of pepto bismal complete with the requisite parasol so thanks for the memories Avery Flynn, for that I’m giving this book five stars.
