Wedding flashbacks!

The only reason paleontologist Thea Pope was going to her sister’s reality TV wedding was for the paid leave for the following dig even though the wedding was in Colter’s Hell, WY. But finding out that her sister didn’t want her in the wedding party gave her the guts to have a fling with the one guy that her sister hated the most, the best man Kade St. James.

If you want an author that will make you laugh and giggle you need to read Avery Flynn because she helps you understand why Thea and Kade have to deal with their families first even if it will be an 80’s themed wedding (the dresses and Day-Glo colors gave me flashbacks about the style then).

Now I want to read Astrid’s book Walk of Shame!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author and Valentine PR. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love it!
To me a humorous, steamy and chaotic book that feels like a light read despite some deep, emotional topics is just one of the best romance book types. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a good laugh and some spice with a big glass of wine. Add in some dinosaur-talk and you have a winner.

This book was so much fun. It happened over the span of a week but it felt like longer. I liked seeing them slowly open up to each other even though they said they wouldn't. The whole wedding idea was a lot of fun and I enjoyed the different family dynamics. The epilogue was adorable and I need like a whole short story of them.

I received an arc through valentine pr.

This romcom is the boss. Thea has always lived her life trying to pleas others. Kade is accustomed to looking out for his younger brother. In the reality wedding from hell these two find a reason to anger bang. This is a hilarious story with superb characters. As you turn the pages you will be expertly entertained by the author. This leads to an epic happy ending.

This is a spicy rom com with a lot of heart. I loved that the main character, Thea, had a love for Jurassic Park and became a paleontologist. She goes through a lot of growth in this story. This novel has a bit of everything: humor, emotion, a cast of characters with growth, and lots of steam. If you’re a steamy rom com fan, this will be a hit for you.

Thank you so much to Entangled Publishing for the arc read-a-long.

Do you like RomComs? In the mood for a fun, steamy romance? This is your book.
I laughed so many times while reading this strangers to lovers story. The banter was great. The idea was fun. The spice was abundant. I thoroughly enjoyed this read.

This is my second Avery Flynn book (my first was Back in the Burbs). I find myself devouring her stories. I was captivated by Thea and didn't want to put this book down. Who hasn't felt unwanted, rejected, or unworthy? There were parts of her that I could relate to and I desperately wanted her to come out on top! (Pun intended) What can be said about Kade? I mean who doesn't want a man to know what we need before we do? I really enjoyed the his and hers perspectives, although I had a bit of an issue figuring it out at times. This story had me laughing out loud, blushing, covering my face in second hand embarrassment and wiping away a few tears. The excerpt at the end for Astrid's Walk of Shame had me hooked and I can't wait to get my hands on that book too! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will definitely be reading more from Avery Flynn!

Anger Bang is a hilarious and emotional roller coaster of a romance. It's topped off nicely with heat and spice to make it a great combination and fast paced read. Thea Pope has been stuck in her "I'm fine" mode for the majority of her life. She's about to face her worst nightmare, attending her sister's 80s themed, live streamed, wedding extravaganza. It only gets worse as her sister confesses she didn't even want to invite Thea, it was the producers who made her include Thea, her only sibling in the wedding. Raging after hearing this news, Thea decides she will no longer just go along with everything and say it's fine. The introverted, paleontologist, decides she's going to bang the groom's brother, the one her sister can't stand. What follows is full of belly laugh moments and blooming passion between two people who have kept to themselves. In a week's time they'll try their hardest to just stay strangers but slowly, they'll learn about each other and realize they've fallen for each other. This was such a fun read!

This was my first Avery Flynn book and it was such a treat. It was funny, had heart, and successfully had me blushing at 7:30am on my way to work. Thea and Kade has SIZZLING chemistry from the get-go, and I’m such a sucker for a forced proximity wedding week as a trope. This was such a fantastic rom-com - full of family drama, set against a backdrop of a horrible 80s themed reality show wedding, and with so many hijinks. BUT don’t let that (or the fun cover) fool you - the spice is spicy!

I loved Thea so much! “Fine” is her catchphrase, and she has used it her whole life to mask what she actually feels - the stereotypical ‘go-along-to-get-along’ person. I loved how dorky she was with her flirty dinosaur facts, and how clearly she wanted to force herself out of her fawn response. Her propositioning of Kade was hilarious, but the way their relationship evolved was sweet and perfectly angsty.

Kade was a true crime writer, so automatically a yes for me (maybe that’s my red flag?) HIS flirty language was crime statistics (like how much a kidney goes for on the black market) and, honestly, the banter and texts between these two was the most hilariously seen I’ve felt in a while. He pushes his own feelings and issues so far down, so he had that whole broody/mysterious grump thing going, and the way he fell for and opened up to Thea was lovely to read.

This book was a fun and STEAMY ride. I feel like I had a smile (or blush) on my face the entire time, and Avery did such an amazing job bringing in some of the past traumas to build just enough tension. It is a perfect summer read with some fun side characters, dinosaurs named Lori & Jimbo, a place called Colter’s Hell, Wyoming, and that sometimes, revenge comes with orgasms.

I am so, so happy I received an ARC of Anger Bang from Entangled Publishing. This is my first Avery Flynn book and omg I laughed so much throughout this book. Like, enough that Derek kept looking at me while I was reading. But while this book definitely brings the laughs, it also touches on harder subjects, like anxiety, alcoholism, and parental trauma. Anger Bang also shows how people can change, in more ways than one, and how we might be holding ourselves back from loving relationships in ways we swore we never would.

I did a readalong for this book (my first) and it was so fun, but so hard not to skip ahead! I would have flown through this book if I wasn't trying to keep to the readalong. And even when I did read the designated chapters, I didn't even realize how much time had passed until I finally looked up from my kindle.

I also adored the friendship between Thea, Nola, and Astrid, even if we didn't get as much of that friendship in the book as I wanted (it was a destination wedding, so I get it though). I can't wait for the next book, which is going to be about Astrid. Hopefully I can get an ARC of that too, because I don't want to have to wait for that book anymore than I have to! Anyways, just read this book when it comes out on June 27th because it's so good!

Thea is a dinosaur loving paleontologist who is dragged into her sister's reality show wedding. She doesn't want anything to do with the even even before her sister tells her she didn't even want Thea in the wedding. The only way Thea sees to get revenge is to anger bang the best man, the groom's brother her sister hates. But what starts out as just some benefits, turns into something more.

I adored this book! It had so many thing that I loved.

The humor: the book had me cracking up early and I didn't stop the entire time. The narration was snarky and smart. I liked the banter between the characters. And all of the dinosaur jokes had me dying.

Thea and Kade: These two are who romcoms are made for. Their chemistry was amazing. I wanted to see them get together the second they met. Usually books where the character don't talk out their feelings will annoy me, but I completely understood where these two were coming from. It was fun to see them fall for each other.

The spice: It kicks in nice and early (under 20%) and doesn't disappoint the rest of the time. Thea and Kade's sexual chemistry is so strong that you want to see them together all of the time.

The family drama: this book wasn't just about the couple. It also delved into some heavy family topics that were well placed and written.

This book is a must for spicy romcom lovers!!!!

Thank you to the author for the gifted copy. All of my reviews are honest

There is so much good stuff in this book that it is hard to review it without retelling the whole thing! First, I loved Thea and Kade. They both had difficult childhoods but are trying to make something better with their lives. They share an instant and compelling connection, and the banter is top notch. Second, even though Thea and Kade are working through some things, the comedy of the book is perfect. The 80s themed wedding with the outfits and songs is just so funny. Thea's inner monologue is also highly entertaining. Third, I liked that Thea and Kade discussed Thea's responses to conflict and that he respected her work on herself. It was thought provoking and moving. They had several interesting conversations on that and other topics. Basically, I could hardly put this book down because there were so many good things going on.

I love Avery Flynn! Whether it be her series of stories or her stand alones, I am enamored by her writing style and her characters.

This story is witty, fast-paced, and her flawed characters are relatable and cheer-able.

This is the story of Thea and Kade.

Two people who are thrown together during a messy and chaotic situation. Both characters have scars and hidden vulnerabilities that they live with every day.

Assumptions, miscommunication, and long-seated hurt really propel Thea and Kade into their "relationship" that starts with a bang and how it ends; well, you have to read to find out.

I totally empathized with both Kade and Thea and the issues they faced. Their chemistry was fabulously steamy and swoony, and I was rooting hard for them.

The secondary characters were brilliant and really brought more wackiness and hidden depths to this fantastic read.

You will never be disappointed with an Avery Flynn story!

I really wanted to love this one! From the title to the cover to the synopsis, I wanted laugh out loud funny. But it just kinda fell flat for me. There were some adorable moments and some funny cringe worthy moments but as a whole I just didn't love it as much as I wanted... but maybe I set my bar too high.

The paleontologist heroine is a bridesmaid at her sister's TV reality-show wedding, an event she is dreading due to her acting past. She meets the writer hero, who is the groom's best man and brother, when he offered her a drink. When the heroine hears that her sister didn't want her to be in her wedding, she decides to ask the hero to have sex with her as payback. As the time for the wedding becomes closer, the hero and the heroine spend more time together and began to fall in love with each other.

This is the first book in the DOWNSIDE TO DATING series by Avery Flynn. It features two main characters that have some personal issues that they must go through in this book. The book also has dual perspectives that enriched the whole story. The main characters were likable as a couple and as individuals, though I did like the heroine more than the hero. There were secondary characters that were surprising in their evolution during the story. And I appreciated that there was an epilogue, giving me closure about the main couple. Overall, an entertaining read and I look forward to reading more books in the DOWNSIDE TO DATING series in the future.

Well, this one was not it for me. As an 80s baby I loved the whole 80s wedding vibe. I also loved that FMC Thea was a paleontologist because it made me think of Friends and Ross Geller. But I really didn’t find this to be a super funny romantic comedy and the spice was just so-so for me. I think I was just expecting more for both and it just wasn’t there for me. I did like Thea and Kade together though, so they kind of saved it for me- but overall, not the best read.

Avery Flynn has me raptor round her finger! Anger Bang is a hilarious, steamy romance about a paleontologist and true crime writer falling in love in front of the camera.

Thea is a paleontologist who is dedicated to her job. She is looking forward to a dig but before that, her sister's wedding is approaching. Her sister's wedding isn't your average one, it will be streamed 24/7 big brother style. And that stresses Thea out because she hates having the attention on herself. But she put her feelings aside so she could appease her sister.

When she arrives at the wedding site and gets set up with mics, she gets to see her sister. Amid the many festivities, she hears her sister saying that the show's producer is the person who really wanted Thea to be a part of the wedding. That really hurts and ticks her off. So, she decides to anger bang the person who her sister Jackie dislikes the most. And that person is her soon-to-be husband's brother Kade. Kade is the total opposite of Thea. He is charming and cocky, but he is down for an anger bang.

Kade and Thea have a hot and steamy night together and decide to up the ante. They agree to a wedding fling with no feelings, no personal information, and a no-kissing rule. (Yeah let's see how long that lasts). Their chemistry is fiery and so unexpected for both of them. Even though they are trying the whole no strings attached thing, it becomes pretty evident that it will not last long. Both understand each other and tear down their walls with one another.

While this book doesn't lack in the steamy department, there is so much heart to the story. Kade still has to deal with issues stemming from his mother leaving him and his brother at a young age and Thea is trying to learn how to put herself first and calm down when it comes to people-pleasing.

I always love reading Avery Flynn you can always count on her writing to make you laugh out loud and blush. And I loved that I read this book as part of a read-a-long in the Entangled Insiders Party Room. It makes the reading experience that much better!

If you are looking for an entertaining, spicy, romantic comedy romp, Anger Bang is the book for you. The premise of this book feels so fresh and fun, and I enjoyed the way that author Avery Flynn utilizes tropes throughout the narrative. There’s forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers (lite), and a secondary love story that is also really delightful to read.

Beyond the funny bits, there’s a wonderful exploration of family and familial trauma. Both protagonists have to grapple with the ways in which their respective families have affected them, and how that plays out in their interactions with each other. Will they be able to identity and overcome their barriers in order to have a shot to actually be together? Or will they go back to their lives with their fling firmly behind them?

There’s great chemistry, witty banter, and a plot that seems like it would be over-the-top, but ends up being just right.

A sincere thank you to Entangled and NetGalley for the ARC.
