Cute summer camp romance between Russ and Aurora who both struggle with difficult family issues that negatively influence their confidence and self-esteem. They slowly learn to trust and confide in one another as their attraction grows and lines are crossed. Full of funny banter, secret pining, and cameos from our favorite Icebreaker characters, Wildfire is a great follow-up novel.

In both icebreaker and wildfire, Hannah Grace has made me feel as though I was watching a romantic comedy with underlying serious topics. She makes you laugh (literally out loud) and then cry a few pages after. Russ & Aurora are my new fav couple. I’m so grateful to have gotten a copy from Netgalley, and can’t wait to see what more work Hannah Grace will produce!

Aurora Roberts is taking the summer to return to the one place she’s ever felt at home: Honey Acres summer camp. Aurora is full of confidence and has never bothered to be much of a rule follower, but wants to take the summer to commit to herself and reinvent some of those bad habits. When she arrives and discovers she’ll be spending the summer with Russ Callaghan, a member of the UCMH hockey team she shared a steamy night with before they left, the no staff fraternization policy is really going to test her commitment to stopping those bad, rule-breaking habits.

This. Freaking. Book. Hannah Grace is the master of the very sweet romcom which has just the downright filthiest smut. I loved watching two characters learn to grow and trust each other, and give each other grace with the missteps. Russ is just the hottest dirty talking sweetie pie (aka Muffin) who I would do anything for. 🥵 He is absolute perfection. The way Aurora builds up her relationships and her found family was beautiful. Hannah Grace had a way of writing that found family which always has me wanting to call my friends and remind them how much they mean to me. Her references to other contemporary romcoms also brings me so much joy! They are such fun little nods.

Hannah Grace writes with such depth and yet her books are so funny and light! I loved this one as much as I loved Icebreaker, though Nate and Stassie do hold a dear place in my heart. I loved the dynamic of this book and how they built their relationship as friends before they went further. Bravo!

Thank you NetGalley for an Arc of Wildfire in exchange of my honest review.

Wildfire is the second installment of The Maple Hills series that follows a group of Hockey students that lives in the same fraternity. In this one we have Russ (the hockey player) and Aurora, a very rich and sort of famous student in the campus. They meet at a party at the fraternity and after hook up and some misunderstandings, she leaves thinking they won’t see each other again. However, summer is here and both ended up working in a summer camp as instructors where there are rules against fraternizing.

I really enjoyed the first half of the book. Russ’ and Aurora’s chemistry is undeniable and the reason why she left was quite funny (and an interesting plot device the author came up with). I also enjoyed a lot they reacquainted themselves at the camp. When they realized it was all a misunderstanding they had before and now their interest in each other was back in play but they couldn’t be seen together I thought it was super fun. The spicy scenes were also great for those that likes that.

I also noticed as a mark of Hannah Grace’s book that her characters goes to a good healing journey in the book and they healthy support each other. In this case Aurora’s father was completely absent of her live while was present for his new family. Russ’ father, on the other hand, had issues with gambling. The way Grace portrayed this and how the main characters worked their problems was very respectful and wholesome.

My issue with this book is that I wanted to read a sports romance and even though he does sport, he doesn’t play hockey not even once in this book. They spend the whole book in the camp (and mind you no sports in the camp either). What we get the most here is their interactions in the camp and trying to sneak around to be with each other. The conflicts in the camp was minimal to zero (and it felt like a filler).

Additionally, although I liked the healing journey aspect of the book I just thought it was stretched a bit too long and some discussions sounded very repetitive by the end of it.

Overall is a fun book, but I would still prefer Icebreakers.

I’m obsessed. I like Icebreaker, but I LOVED Wildfire. It was hands down my favorite read of the year so far. Maybe it was the endearing summer camp or the fact that Russ and Aurora’s personalities, relationship, and personal problems are so much like my own, but I absolutely fell more in love with every page. I haven’t had a book hangover this bad in ages.

A fun summer camp story that's perfect for a vacation or beach read! The characters in this book are complex, and especially the male characters (other than the "bad guy(s)") are written to be very respectful and thoughtful of the women in their lives, both in friendship and in romantic situations, which stood out to me, along with its sex-positivity. I didn't read the other book in the series, and I didn't feel I was missing anything.

I was very excited to get this ARC after really loving Icebreaker. Sadly, I didn’t think Wildfire lived up to that same experience, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless.

I enjoyed Russ and Aurora as main characters and appreciated that there was plenty of story happening here beside their romance, but I found the book to be a bit overly long and slow. Still excited to continue this series!

This was a lovely book! I think it still captured Hannah's voice that I fell in love with during Icebreaker. I think one thing I loved about Icebreaker was the found family aspect of it and how character driven it was. The only critique I have about Wildfire is that the romance seemed to take a bit of a back seat (compared to Icebreaker) in favor of the setting at the camp, side characters, and plot points. However, the chemistry was there with Russ and Aurora from the start and I was BEYOND pleased with the fact that there was no third act breakup. I think authors who are able to walk characters through strife without fully breaking them up end up building a better and more intense relationship - Hannah certainly does that! Overall, 4.5/5 read for me and can't wait to see what else Hannah puts out. Thank you for the opportunity to read an ARC!

Review will be posted on @bookscetera_ closer to release day.

I loved Icebreaker and I struggled to finish this book. There wasn't anything drawing me to the characters or the story. The chemistry, banter and love between Stassie and Nate (Icebreaker) was top notch. Wildfire was missing all of those elements. Russ was like a wet blanket. Aurora was slightly more entertaining. I would've preferred any of the other side characters (Xander, JJ, Henry) as the MMC.

The camp setting was really cute, but could have been a lot better. The daddy issues and mental health aspects were really the core of this book. Because of that, I would classify it as contemporary fiction, not romance.

I almost DNF this book out of boredom. I wouldn't have missed much at the end if I did.

What a fun read! Honestly, I liked this more than Icebreaker. Hannah Grace does such a great job of including real insecurities and mental health in her books. I fully swooned over the ending and their inside jokes. A good summer read for anyone 18 plus! I would have devoured this in college, and I hope the hint at the end about a possible fake dating book for Henry isn't just me reading into nothing!

I'm definitely a Hannah Grace fan after reading this book. I did read Icebreaker by her as well and loved it, so I knew I was in for a treat when I got approved to read this book as well. I can definitely see my patrons absolutely adoring this book and this Author!

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for an ARC of Wildfire!

For me this is probably a 3.5 star read. I enjoyed it, but not enough to give it a 4 star rating. It felt like a completely different book when you compare it to Icebreaker. It was less sports romance and more new adult romcom. So that might be a good or bad thing depending on if you liked the first book. Not to sound old, but there's something about reading contemporary fiction with college students that doesn't do it for me. The character development had potential. But, it wrapped up too quickly and felt a bit shallow. The best characters were the dogs lowkey. They had the best names.

I still recommend reading since it was entertaining. It just wasn't anything life changing.

I'm officially a Hannah Grace fangirl.

I liked Icebreaker a lot, but Wildfire is where Grace's storytelling shines. She is able to create vivid locations and characters, all of whom I wanted to get to know better. I'm glad that Grace is creating a world of characters and cannot wait to know who we get to know next.

After reading Icebreaker, I was so excited to be given the opportunity to check out this ARC! Russ is such a lovable character and had the same feel-good storyline as the previous novel. Can’t wait for more from this author!

An absolute amazing work of art! Loved it from the very beginning. Following Russ and Aurora through their ups and downs of life made it so relatable. The perfect amount of spice, mixed with the perfect amount of plot. Even had some laugh out loud moments. The friendships, new and old, throughout the book also hits home. Loved the digs between Xander and the group. Overall was a five star read and would highly recommend.

Only finished this book to give a fair review. It was an insufferable slog to read. While the copy I read was a proof, the writing was awful. There were so many times I needed to reread sentences because they were incomprehensible. Several times I thought it was because I was bored and not reading carefully, but the sentence structure was really that bad. The point of view shift from chapter to chapter was unnecessary because there was no change in voice between the two main characters. The many secondary characters added nothing to the plot and only made the story longer.

Another winner from Hannah Grace.

College students Russ and Aurora meet at the end of the year and have a one-night stand before taking off for the summer. A misunderstanding leads them to believe they will never see each other again, but fate has other plans when they end up working at the same summer camp, in the same counselor group.

They like each other but they think the other doesn't feel the same way. Nonetheless, they have to work together, so they become friends. The camp has a no-fraternization staff policy anyway.

But attraction wins out, and they are soon sneaking around to be together.

Protagonists Russ and Aurora are both damaged by their families in similar but distinct ways. Russ is adorable. His shyness and lack of arrogance makes him very endearing, as does Aurora's desire to improve herself. You're just rooting for Russ to get what he wants, for something good to happen in his life.

You want to take the ride with these two, and you hope true love will win.

The summer camp setting was fun and nostalgic.

Thank you so much to @netgalley for the chance to review Wildfire by Hannah Grace. I just finished Icebreaker, and was so excited to be back with this cast of characters. This is Russ and Aurora’s tale - an amazing one night stand, but nothing more. Until they find themselves working at a summer camp together.

They work through family drama and grow towards their happy ending. It was a bit steamy, and there are golden retriever puppies. The camp setting was done so well. Just perfect. I can’t wait for the next book!
