This was my first by this author, and I look forward to more. Nothing like a good domestic thriller.

This novel revolves around Lucas. He seems to be the perfect husband. He is engaging, romantic and makes his wife feel special. Of course is wife had to sign a Pre-Nup to marry him since he was financial set. But she was in love.

Around three years into her marriage she does not feel special, and is feels trapped in her marriage. He know longer makes her feel safe. What will she do if she leaves him. The Pre-Nup makes it pretty clear what will take place. Don’t want to spoil that part. This one was addictive, suspenseful and had me until the end. Is it possible Lucas underestimated his wife?

Thank you Bookouture for this advanced novel. Out as of July 27th.

I was excited to read this pyschological thriller - The Prenup, the blurb suggested at a life or death kind of read and I was looking forward to delving into it,

From this part of the blurb I was hooked - Now: Three years in, Lucas has changed. I don’t feel safe in my own house, and when I look at my husband, I don’t recognize the man I married.

And now I’m trapped in this house with a man I’m beginning to realize I never really knew at all—and I’m terrified I might not make it out alive…

But,.. the story didn't read anything at all like I was expecting. It was based off of sexual relations with another woman, ie cheating. Coupled with the fact I couldn't gel with Ava, it said in the blurb 'terrified she'd make it out alive' yet she comes across as a bit of a doormat, I struggled a bit with liking Claudia and Minnie too.

I have to say The Prenup is written very well, for me it just left me a little underwhelmed. I can however see why people are loving it. I didn't dislike it at all, but to be truthful I didn't love it.

The Prenup..

This is such an icky word. Everyone associates a prenup with anticipating divorce. I have heard both pros and cons but after reading The Prenup, my head is literally swelling and the fear is still pulsating through my body.

This is a fast paced book that will have you fearing what lurks around the corner. Once you start, there is no way you will ever want or need to put this one down. The amount of suspense that built with every page had me holding my breath and completely submerged within the the storyline. The twist?? You will never see it coming and it has A LOT of shock factor!

This is a book you will not want to miss!

The Prenup is free on KindleUnlimited! No excuses, RUN on over to amazon to download this book!!!

Teaser :

he signed the papers. And now her life is in danger…

Then: I gaze at my new husband and smile. It’s our wedding day and I feel like the luckiest woman alive.

Lucas is perfect. He brings me coffee in the morning, flowers in the evening, and never leaves the room without a kiss.

So I try to ignore the niggling doubt in the back of my mind about the prenup he made me sign. Does he think I’m a gold digger?

I reassure myself that it doesn’t matter, because I know we’ll be together forever…

Now: Three years in, Lucas has changed. I don’t feel safe in my own house, and when I look at my husband, I don’t recognize the man I married.

And now I’m trapped in this house with a man I’m beginning to realize I never really knew at all—and I’m terrified I might not make it out alive…

This book started off slow, but boy did the pace pick up mid way through. The ending to this book is fabulous!
I really enjoyed this new release by Arianne Richmonde, and it’s definitely one of my favourites by this author.
It’s a really good domestic thriller and one I’d definitely recommend.

The Prenup started off as a bit of a slow burner but once it got going - wow! Once the twists started coming I just did not know where the story was going or what to believe. I really enjoyed it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.

For the first quarter of this book, I struggled with it, I didn’t really enjoy it and wasn’t drawn in, then it was like it all clicked together and I was hooked. Plot twist after plot twist the book drew me in until I struggled to put it down. A great read.

Very gripping from the first chapter, I loved that every chapter made you really think of the main character was reliable or not and how you really hoped the best for her as you watch her mental health get the best of her.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'The Prenup' by Arianne Richmonde

Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Arianne Richmonde, Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous

Publication date 27th July 2023

This is the third book that I have read by this author. I have previously read 'The Wife's House' and 'The Breakdown' which I would highly recommend.

This novel consists of 60 chapters and an epilogue and is set over 3 parts. The chapters are short in length so ideal to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case! In this case the whole book before bed!!!

Wow!!! Where to even begin on this one!! An absolutely cracking page turner! I started reading it this morning... Well yesterday morning and could not put it down until I finished just before midnight!! What an absolute page turner.

Extremely well written, a very smooth, fast paced and easy read. Fantastic descriptions which really sucked me into the storyline. The cover and synopsis suited the storyline perfectly.

Arianne has done it yet again!!! I do not envy authors in this day and age when there are so many books available out there that it must be an absolute nightmare to come up with a unique storyline but Arianne manages it each and every time and this book is no exception!!! Another truly unique, gripping and fast paced thriller that kept me turning the pages throughout!!! I absolutely loved how she has split this book into three parts giving multiple protagonist perspectives and written through multiple timelines yet all weaved into the correct places perfectly, slowly drip feeding the reader information. The storyline is like a rollercoaster where Arianne uses the first part like the chain taking the coaster to the top building up suspense and tension until it hits the top and then she throws you on a fast paced ride with twists, turns, ups, downs and speeds up over and over until the explosive ending!!! Arianne kept me completely enthralled and in suspense the whole time. This book is absolutely ram packed with mysteries, deceit, shock surprises, ulterior motives, love, gas lighting, lies, twists, turns and everything you could ask for in a good psychological thriller. It was filled with love, lies, secrets, mystery, shocks, tension and some expo live twists!! I absolutely loved Arianne's evocative writing skills that grips the reader and pulls them deep into the storyline with the characters, locations and actions coming to life in front of them making them feel they are next to the characters throughout feeling what they are. This is one of those books that I just could not put down. I kept telling myself I would read just one more chapter but then something would happen and I had to know what happened next. This happened over and over so I ended up with my kindle glued to my hands until I devoured it all in one sitting. It is also getting harder and harder to surprise and shock me with all the crime thrillers and psychological thrillers I have read but Arianne has managed it yet again with the plot twists I would have never seen coming so a HUGE congratulations Arianne!!! The characters were all realistic, well fleshed out and I was completely invested in them needing to know what was going to happen. I had no idea who to trust or who was telling the truth. They weren't particularly likeable but surprisingly that made me need to know what was going to happen to them even more!!! I have to admit my favourite characters had to be the Golden Labradors Ariadne and Sappho!!!! As a huge animal lover I am always pleased to see them in books and these two were the stars of the show!!! I won't say anymore at the risk of dropping any spoilers. Needless to say the characters worked perfectly with this absolutely gripping unputdownable psychological thriller.

This is definitely one of the best books that I have read in a while, I couldn't believe how absorbed I was until I came to the shocking ending. Clear your schedules before starting this as you will not be able to put it down!!

Make sure you read to the very end of the book to read the first two chapters of Arianne's 'The Newlyweds' which promises to be just as addictive as this book and is one I'm definitely looking forward to reading myself!!

Overall an absolutely fantastic psychological thriller that is filled with explosive action, suspense and mystery.

352 pages.

This book is just 99p to purchase on kindle, free with kindle unlimited and £8.99 in paperback (at time of review) via Amazon which I think is an absolute bargain for this book!!!

Rated 5/5 (I LOVED it ) on Goodreads, Instagram, Amazon UK and Amazon US and on over 30 Facebook pages plus my blog on Facebook.

A gripping psychological thriller. I did guess the twist part way through but that didn't make the book any less enjoyable.

This is the first book I've read by this author but it's made me want to read more.

Thank you to NetGally and the publishers for this ARC.

I usually love different pov and timelines in a book but I do feel like this one got a bit messy, the povs were done fine but the different timelines did get a bit confusing sometimes.

I wasn’t a big fan of any of the characters in this book, but I don’t think you were meant to be!

I didn’t see any of the twists coming at all which was great, I definitely didn’t see that ending coming!

This book wasn't for me personally but I suggest that you try it and make up your own mind.

Thank you to Netgalley, Arianne Richmonde and Bookouture for providing me with this copy. All opinions are my own.

Okay, The Prenup ended up being a GREAT thriller - that ending though! Totally came out of right field for me.
A love triangle of Ava, Lucas, and Claudia, a prenup signed upon marriage, and a price to pay for it all.

I had a hard time initially getting into this book. The dialogue of the main character became really monotonous to me, and I found myself skimming through a lot of it. But I never DNF a book because I feel they all deserve a chance, and I'm so glad I pushed forward! Ava totally redeemed herself!

Lucas was NOT my favorite character. I'm sure that everyone that reads this would agree. but I felt he was just a sniffly, whiney, spoiled man, and I just wanted to THROTTLE him.

Originally was going to give this book 3 stars, but the last 1/3 of it made up for the rest, so 4 stars it is!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Would you sign a pre-nup before your wedding? Whilst I know they're becoming more common in the UK now, I still wouldn't sign one. Shouldn't wedding vows be enough?

This is my first read by Richmonde and it certainly didn't disappoint. Fast paced from the first page we're taken straight into the married life of Ava and her husband Lucas. Ava is pregnant with their first child and Lucas is embroiled in an affair with Claudia.

Karma's a bitch and gets you right when you're least expecting it and Lucas deserved every thing that landed in his lap. I took an immediate dislike to both him, his father and their manipulative ways.

The storyline is addictive, suspenseful and quite sadly realistic. So many men nowadays think that narcissism and gaslighting are the way to go.

I definitely look forward to reading more from Richmonde in the future.

The Prenup is a domestic psychological thriller. I was hooked from the beginning, but the middle of the book does move a little more slowly than I prefer. I loved the fact that I couldn't tell if Ava was out of touch with reality or if her husband, Lucas, truly was gas lighting her. I was doubting everyone the whole time! The multiple point of views which switched timelines were a little bit confusing to follow. If I set the book down and picked it back up I would have to reorient myself to what was going on. The lesson here: read the book in one sitting! It's fast paced and intriguing. The duo of golden retrievers was the icing on the cake for me.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for a digital ARC.

At the beginning of this book was a slow burn for me, but then it took a wild turn starting in the middle of it. There is tons of twists in this book. It will have you thinking you figured it out, and the next moment it completely has you in awe and thinking wow I was completely wrong. Great book to read if you like twists!!!

Ava and Lucas had a whirlwind relationship they totally connected and were so in love he was perfect she was so in love she even signed a prenup saying if they should divorce she doesn’t expect a thing but three years in it seems Lucas cannot keep his pants on and for the most part Ava tries to ignore it it doesn’t help that she is also questioning her sanity looking on Instagram at pictures of them on vacation that she has no recollection of The straw that will start crippling the camel is going to come from her neighbor Jill who asked Ava if Luke’s is representing The actress Claudia Spectre and when Ava due to embarrassment says he is, Jill goes even further by saying they must be really close because I saw them having dinner with their heads very close together. Let me just say I was so glad when Eva stop taking things at face value and started looking into things for herself. I really started loving this book then and was rooting for Eva by the end and totally didn’t see what happened at the end coming at all! I thought because the book was called prenup it was going to go a totally different way but OMG if Ariana Richmond didn’t deliver with a twisty thriller! This was a great book and one I highly recommend. I want to thank Net Galley Ann Bookoucher for my free Arc copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

The Prenup is a domestic thriller full of unreliable narrators. Among them a hagridden wife and a Hollywood starlet. Between them is Lucas, a law partner who has built his life and career out of lies. Is Lucas a textbook narcissist? Is Ava unhinged? How can we tell if Claudia is sincere or putting on an act? Readers are ultimately left guessing who to trust and when to doubt.

People assume we might encounter danger in dark alleys or down dead-end streets, or in remote locations . . . But in my case, it is happening right here, in my house.

In my home.

And my husband is the perpetrator.

It is with these words that Arianne Richmonde sets the tone for this gripping novel. Ava's fear is palpable and it is magnified by the fact that she is trapped. Held hostage by a prenup that may have her lose everything including her unborn child.

Her husband Lucas was once the picture of perfection. Now she must contend with his anger and manipulation. Between him and his overbearing father, Ava is the subject of intimidation and bullying. It's no wonder why she is cracking under the pressure. To add fuel to the fire Ava discovers that he is having an affair with one of her favorite actresses. How is she to compete with someone so beautiful and glamorous? Why should she have to?

The novel is fast-paced and edgy. Full of twists and turns to the very end, The Prenup is the perfect thrilling ride for a hot summer day.

I was so excited to get an ARC of this book because the premise and other reviews sounding promising but unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations. The story is extremely slow moving and the writing is very simplistic and unpolished. I understand this is an uncorrected advance copy but my main issue isn’t with the smaller typos or errors but the randomness of events and lack of plot structure. I also disliked every single character that gets introduced. Ultimately I had to give up on this one but it may appeal to others who enjoy a more even paced mystery.
