Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an arc!
The Pre-Nup had me pulled in pretty quick. I didn’t expect the multiple parts, but loved the viewpoints and background info that added. I also enjoyed that this book kept you guessing the whole time. I did anticipate the general ending, as I have read another book very similar, but still enjoyed it!
3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️. I really had high hopes for this one after seeing so many 4 and 5 star reviews but it was just okay to me. The basis of the storyline sounds intriguing but it just never pulled me in completely like a great psychological thriller does. Maybe it was the characters? I didn’t care for any of them. Ava was annoying, Lucas was gross (every time he called someone “babe”, I rolled my eyes) and Claudia was also just all over the place. The timeline jumped around a lot too. The story was written in several POVs and it it seemed to be repetitive at times. Overall a slow burn. I will give credit where credit is due and the twist at the end was a good one! It was definitely a “what goes around, comes around” reveal. Overall, it kept my interest enough to finish it but it probably won’t be one that I remember a year from now.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
My first read by this author. I was tempted after reading some glowing reviews on social media, plus it’s from one of my trusted publishers. The cover is eye catching.
It has a good hook which immediately got my attention.
Ava is married to successful lawyer Lucas, however his parents insisted that she signed a pre-nup. He turns out not to be the man she thought he was.
Ava has an interesting job a script supervisor, she is the continuity checker as the films are shot out of sequence.
Apart from being a sex stud I can’t see that Lucas has any redeeming qualities at all. Ava is portrayed as the hard done by wife, but it feels like she has an undisclosed agenda.
Claudia one of the main characters comes across as needy. Crystal I felt was character without substance. It didn’t help having two very similar names.
The plot takes a darker turn. It’s divided into parts where different points of view reveal the story.
It’s dark, it’s twisty, it’s an easy entertaining read. There was one twist too far for me, others that needed a pinch of salt to help them digest.
The Prenup by Arianne Richmonde is about a wife, Ava, struggling to make her marriage work. Her husband, Lucas, appears to be keeping secrets and consistently tries to make it seem like Ava is twisting things in her mind. When Ava finds clues that point towards Lucas having an affair, she decides she is no longer going to be gaslighted in her relationship. The Prenup is full of surprises that have you wondering who is really innocent in the end.
While I appreciated the ending, it was difficult to root for any of the characters. While there was a ton of backstory (a bit too much backstory at times), there was limited character development and I did not feel invested in any of them. The main character, Ava, goes into several random monologues that I found tedious and uninteresting. The timeline jumps also felt confusing at times.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Just wow! This story line packs so many punches in the best way possible. Amazing ending and such a great read. I can not wait to read more by this author.
Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to read this arc.
The story starts with Ava who is married to Lucas who is a liar, a professional gaslighter and a lawyer. The first half is from Ava's pov. I felt really disconnected in this part of the story, I didn't particularly like Ava or empathise with her due to her actions. Everything felt a little calculated.
The second half of the book is told from the pov of Claudia, Minnie and Ava. Without giving anything away the first half started to make sense here.
The story doesn't build much depth around the characters but it does make for an enjoyable easy read.
It's a twisty plot and a quick read. This would make the perfect summer holiday read.
The book is a real page-turner and hooked me from the start. A very good plot with twists and turns. It’s what I expect from a book in this genre. I had to finish it in one go!!!
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the chance to read and review this book. There are three voices heard in the story, Ava naive, Claudia unsuspecting, and Minnie a schemer. It all starts out with a prenup prior to a 'shotgun wedding'. Lucas has his wealth to protect and Ava doesn't see any reason to object. Ave starts off as being quite naive but she doesn't ignore all the signs and red flags along the way. All three female characters revolve around Lucas who is something different to each of them. There is scheming, plotting, planning and executing these plans and a surprising end to a very entertaining story. I didn't like all the time jumps but the story came together nicely in the end.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC!
Ah, marital bliss... or is it? What would you do if after you signed your prenup, your beloved spouse suddenly became the complete antithesis of what they were at the altar? This is the reality of one of our narrators in this read and man, is it frightening. The multiple points of view, suspenseful writing, and twists and turns of this book definitely lead you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Definite page-turner and palate cleanser if you've just read something weepy or steamy.
Give it a go if you enjoy psychological thrillers like I do, or if you enjoy having your bum glued to your chair until you get to the last page. Either works, really.
This was such a great read, fast, twisted and had me saying what the F more than once! Well done Arianne!
3.5 ⭐️Thank you Net Galley for the ARC of The Pre-nup!
This book is a multiple POV mystery/suspense that had so many twists and turns! Ava is a loving wife to Lucas, they have the perfect marriage but he is not who he seems.
I enjoyed reading this book, many women can relate to the gaslighting that happened and that feeling of whether their perception of something is actually true. I enjoyed reading the book but I skimmed through some parts because of the excess fluff. I enjoyed the ending, I guessed the big twist almost 75% through but still liked reading until the end.
A fantastic page-turner that had me right from the start! This book had me hooked, from the easy flow of words to the surprises and twists that popped up throughout the story. The second half of the book seriously picks up pace and it's a fast one. Twists got me as well as the prologue, highly recommend it for a summer read!
Firstly got to say the main character Ava’s job as a Script Supervisor’ was amazing to read about, basically her role makes sure if in one scene in a film the clock says 3pm then the clock continues to tell the correct time throughout the rest of filming, continuity we would say, on that point you could tell the author has been an actress with her ( rather jaded ) view of Hollywood and all that goes on there, men do not come out of it well at all, whilst we all know some men are liars, cheats and misogynists not all of us are and it wrankled to read the ever present ‘all men’ narrative, especially as the women in the book were equally as hideous as the men in their actions!
The story is at times entertaining, others dark and tbh a bit dismal with a slew of truly banal characters that most of us woukd reject and stay clear of, however they made good reading although you couldn’t root for any of them as they were all so basic in their personalities, 2 of the main ones Cristal and Claudia being very similar in name and in a relationship did cause a bit of confusion
I finished it but at times it seemed a long read and I think 6 days for me is a record in recent years
Some things I didn’t like, some I did but most importantly a story that will come to mind whenever you next sign any kind of contract and in that regard the book did its job
Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the ARC of The Prenup for an honest review.
I had high hopes for this book, the premise sounded amazing but it fell a little short for me. The book is told in three parts. The first part was a slow burn and took me awhile to get into. Ava and Lucas are forced by his parents to get married after she announces she is pregnant. from the start Lucas gaslights her and Ava realizes this but keeps believing Lucas and thinks she is the one that is forgetting things. Part two definitely picks up and the ending has a twist I did not see coming.
3.5 rounded to 4.
The first thing I absolutely loved about this books were the short chapters with endings you felt the need to continue reading. I really liked the cover and thought it was perfect with the heart shaped lock and rings attached. It was a quick read that grabbed me right from the start.
I enjoyed reading from every perspective. The best was how you think the whole beginning that it will only be one perspective.
I definitely need to pick up more books by this author, who I believe will become an auto buy for me. Dare I say I enjoyed this as much as I enjoy Freida McFadden’s books. I may have another favorite psychological thriller author and I can’t be more happy!
Omg. Talk about a rollercoaster full of twists and turns. This was definitely a psychological thriller for sure and I loved it. A definite recommend for sure.
Thanks Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this book.as always your authors deliver.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of The Prenup. WOW, WOW, WOW!!!! Great plot, Great characters and Great writing! Unrealistic at the end but it still brought a smile to my face. Loved the whole book, it was Awesome!
I struggled with this one, it started off very slow and I had to force myself through it but in the end it was worth it! 4*s
This psychological thriller is a tense multi-POV book which keeps the reader in suspense through to the very end. The clever writing allows for several twists throughout, and I genuinely had no idea which direction to book was going in meaning it was the ultimate page-turner and completed in just over one day.
This is the first book I have read by this author. Due to her excellent style of writing and the clever unexpected twists, I would definitely read further books from her. Highly recommend this book for those who like to escape into psychological thrillers, but I would warn that the book does leave you feeling tense right through to the epilogue.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Wow, lots of twists and turns! Definitely took me awhile to figure out what was going on. I love multiple narrators and especially love an unreliable narrator. Some plot holes that bothered me and the timeline of the multiple narrators was confusing. I needed more specific dates or timelines like just before and after or something. Loved the feminist angle! But, overall it was enjoyable and I’ll definitely read more by this author!
