Thank you #bookouture #netgally for the ARC! Book comes out July 27th!
A gripping read with a unique plot and plenty of twists and turns. The prologue reeled me in, and the multiple POVβs were skilfully done. Should Ava trust Lucas? Is he a liar, a cheat, or worse? Can she get out of the PreNup if she leaves him? It kept me hooked and the ending was completely unexpected.
The Prenup by Arianne Richmonde Original premise and unexpected twist was a slow starting psychological thriller featuring multiple POVs. Ava and Lucas were unlikeable at best, characters you love to hate. An entertaining read.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.
5 stars out of 5!
Wow! This book is filled with twists and turns throughout and I was not expecting that ending! You think it is going one way then you are thrown another twist, it was so good! I loved that it kept me guessing and on my toes. I thought the characters were very well written and we got to know all the main characters very well. My favorite was definitely Claudia.
Ava and Lucas get married and she has signed a prenup that his parents forced on them. It seems they are the perfect couple but Ava is starting to have her doubts about her adoring husband. There is something in the back of her mind that is telling her something isn't quite right.
Overall, this was an excellent, quick read and I am looking forward to reading more from this author! Highly recommend!
Thanks Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

While reading the first chapters, I wanted to scream at her a few times. Why are you putting up with all this !!! Oh gosh, this book is so good, the twists that came later on. I never saw any of them coming!! This is the first but won't be the last book I read of this author !!
The βtwistβ at the end was pretty clever. I loved how the author built out the various characters and parts of the story. As a dog mom myself, the goldens were such a sweet touch. The Ava - Lucas - Claudia love affair definitely kept you on your toes. Is Ava crazy or grieving? Is Lucas manipulative or a caring husband?
Overall, it was a quick fun read!
Concerns: Writing style really confused me here and there. Parts of this felt like I was reading an internal dialogue in first person; other POV chapters were written in third even though it was their POV. Also; there are other terms for gaslighting.

Ava and Lucas appear to be the perfect couple, but the cracks are beginning to show. A master manipulator adept at gaslighting, Lucas cheats on Ava every chance he gets, and once Ava becomes pregnant, he insists she stay home with the baby.
Felling trapped, Ava begins questioning everything after she finds an earring that she knows isn't hers under their bed. When Lucas produces a photo of her wearing the earrings, she's more confused than ever. And there are those vacation photos she doesn't remember either. What exactly is going on?
It's when Lucas cheats with a movie star whom Ava idolizes that she decides she's had enough. What begins as a slow burn quickly amps up to an utterly explosive ending with twist after twist. Filled with deception and betrayal, THE PRE-NUP is a reminder that revenge can indeed be a dish best served cold. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this early read. Publishes July 27, 2023
A good, quick read with quite a few twists!
I was expecting a slightly different book based on the blurb - I didnβt feel Ava was βtrappedβ by her prenup - but I enjoyed the book overall. I love a good thriller and this isnβt quite that category, but it is twisty enough to be a thriller sibling. I was intrigued by Ava & her story, and wanted to know what was going to happen next - the gaslighting - the Hollywood backdrop - the cold and untrustworthy in-laws - some red herrings - they all made this a fantastic read.
Well written and the multiple perspectives helped add a lot to the story. Sometimes the timelines were a little murky since one event could be told 3 times, but I still think it was a good style for this story.
Overall a great read, perfect for a day at the beach!

I hated the writing. Unfortunate, as I was initially very interested in the first several chapters. Agree with everything the other DNF-er wrote on here. Simply just not for me.
This is a slow-burn psychological thriller and written from multiple POV. At times it felt like the author filled the book up with unnecessary information.
Nevertheless i was immediately gripped by the story. I like the fact that the chapters where short and the story kept me engaged. The book is well written and there is a huge twist at the end that I wasn't expecting. I certainly will be reading other book by this author.
Thank you Bookouture & Netgalley for the opportunity to read the advanced copy of this book.

Being a big thriller girlie and quite hard to please when it comes to the genre, I must say I did really enjoy this. I liked the main character Ava and I liked the dogs but I do think their names were rather pretentious and added nothing to the story. The book kept me interested throughout and I finished it in two sittings. I didnβt guess the twist and enjoyed it. However, I did find the jump in timelines quite poorly executed and confusing at times. My only other critique would be the writing style when it came to Minnie was too immature considering she was supposed to be 22, not 12.
Over all, an easy fun read and not too deep or difficult to understand. Nice writing style and would read from this author again.
This book was WILD. The twists just kept coming. There were times when I was completely lost, but I could not stop turning the pages. I was glued to this book and I needed to know what was going on.
I did find the book a bit slow in the beginning and I did think about putting it down, but once the pace picked up, it was non-stop. Iβm glad I stuck with it.
This was a fun read with a surprise ending.

Love Psychological Thrillers? This is for you! Never read a psychological thriller? This is the perfect starting point! #ThePre-Nup by @arianne_richmondeauthor will have you hooked from the first chapter. Youβll think you have it figured out but twist after twist youβll be questioning everyone. Who is reliable and trustworthy? Who is really responsible for all of the confusion and lies?
It seems that Ava has it all. Her husband, Lucas, is attractive, a lawyer, and has a beautiful house in Malibu. Sure married life isnβt perfect but when is it ever? Soon things arenβt adding up. Lucas lies a little too well and isnβt who she thinks he is. She pushes it aside trying to keep them together because sheβs pregnant. But its all starting to be too much when she learns about the affair but the prenup sheβs sign has her trapped. Or is she?
Thank you #NetGalley and @arianne_richmondeauthor for the opportunity to read and review this amazing book! LOVED this story! It had me gripped from the prologue - such a strong way to start the book. I liked that it was told from different perspectives and that alot of the main themes in this book were super relatable. In alot of thrillers, you can see twists coming, even if you can't predict what they may be, whereas with this book I found that the twists were coming out of nowhere (in a good way!) Was fast paced and very hard to put down. Such a great ending also! Big fan π©·

"The Prenup" by Arianne Richmonde is a slow-burn psychological thriller written from multiple POVs. The main characters are Ava, Lucas, Claudia, and Jasmine. The book is divided into four sections, and the sections with Ava and Jasmine are told in the first person.
After accidentally becoming pregnant, Ava is compelled to marry Lucas and sign a prenup that would leave her with nothing in the event of a divorce. Both Lucas and his father are lawyers after all. Initially, Lucas appears to be a devoted husband, bringing her coffee and flowers and taking care of all her needs.
Three years into their marriage, Lucas starts acting strange, causing Ava to doubt her sanity. Not for long, though. When Ava discovers an earring in her bedroom that doesn't belong to her, she suspects Lucas is cheating on her and gaslighting her while at it. Determined to validate her suspicions, Ava has to decide whether Lucas is indeed the perfect husband or if it's all just a facade.
"What goes around comes around" is the saying that comes to mind when reading the book.
I liked the premise and found it original. The jumping back and forth in time and between multiple people was well-done. The characters were well-devolved and given more and more facets with each scene, which brought depth to the book. However, I didn't like or connect with any of them.
The unexpected plot twists created a powerful story. Unfortunately, the execution itself fell short. While the overall narrative is captivating, there are moments where the pacing feels slightly uneven. The book started off strong, lost momentum in the middle, and picked up again in the last section of the book.
In addition, there were some repetitions of thoughts and events. While describing the events from different perspectives shed light on them, the book could have benefited from tighter editing, resulting in a more engaging read. Additionally, I found the repeated descriptions of the Malibu house redundant. The lengthy article about the actress and the nitpicking over the use of "actor" versus "actress" did not contribute to the story either.

After much consideration, I decided to rate the book 3.5 out of 5 stars. Overall, I did enjoy the book despite its flaws. The unexpected twists toward the end left me wide-eyed, and I couldn't tear my eyes away from my Kindle. I recommend the book to anyone that enjoys a complex and unpredictable, albeit slow-burn, tale and doesn't mind a slower pace. It is certainly a unique story.

Absolute page turner. I was hooked from the first few pages and read it in a single sitting.
This was filled with suspense, such a great psychological thriller. The author has a way with keeping you wondering where the story is going and that twist, I did not see that coming at all!
If you are looking for a fluffy book for a laugh without taking it seriously or expecting much from it, this might be for you, but I personally prefer sincere attempts in writing..p The characters are extremely superficial and air headed. The inner thoughts drag on and are not very interesting and make the heroine seem very narcissistic, The writing style is amateur, itβs shame if someone must pay for this. Sorry DNF for me. Too bad because the premise sounded so interesting.

Absolutely loved it! I was hooked from the start, the writing is so engulfing and its impossible not to become completely caught up in what's going on. The characters are well written and there is just so much unease and tension built up that I couldn't put it down til I had answers!
Ava had no problem signing a pre nup. She knew she and her husband loved each other, their wedding day was the happiest day of her life, and she knew they would be together forever.
Three years later, Lucas has changed and Ava feels she no longer knows him. There are lies and secrets in their marriage, and she feels unsafe, and afraid for her life.
The pre nup she signed means she lost her freedom, and is tied to this man and her marriage. Can she make it out alive?
I loved this book, the twists and turns in the plot kept me guessing to the last page. a totally addictive read.
