This is my first book by this author, but I can tell you it won’t be my last. I read this as a stand-alone, but I understand it is part of a series. It still works and is easy to follow if you have not read the other books in the series.
Shattered dreams is the story of two strong but fragile spirits, who have suffered horribly by the hands of others, but when they come together they make each other whole. It’s truly an emotional ride, but worth every second.

This book will make you feel so much for the main characters. It starts off introducing you to the two main characters Thomas and Helen. Helen is spending her last day locked up fighting for her life while Thomas is helping solve murders by using his abilities. When Thomas sees Helen from afar at the cemetery he knows that she is an amazing person who was made for him to love. Helen never expected anyone to like her let along love her after what she was accused of and sentenced for, but she has always maintained she was innocent. Will Thomas be able to help prove her words to be true while keeping them safe? I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book had me completely enthralled. I could not stop reading, right from the start I was hooked. This was the first book I’ve read by Abbie and wow, it bought out so much emotion. It was dark, paranormal and psychological romantic suspense perfection👌

Thomas and Helena have both been through so much in their lives and the way they found peace and healed together was beautiful. Their connection is so intense, it was palpable. There was so much happening increasing the suspense and tension that I was literally holding my breath in some parts. There were some uncomfortable parts to the storyline but they pulled me in and had me completely invested in them getting their HEA. I needed to know what was going to happen next and it did not disappoint.

It’s truely a story of finding your person, the one who is the other half of your heart and soul, because without them you are incomplete. A heartbreaking, but touching story that will have you questioning what you think you know. Highly recommend 🖤

All I can say is WOW!!! I was immediately drawn in with this book. I fell in love with the characters story and their chemistry. There were some twists that were completely unexpected and some romance and suspense. This book offers a little bit of everything. There are two other books before this one that are available on kindle unlimited, if you were interested in getting some backstory on some of the characters but this book is considered a standalone!

I added every book by the author to my read list. This book had the perfect amount of suspence and romance. I loved Helen and Thomas connection. They were both very strong characters and weren't whiny or woe is me which is a testament to the authors strong writing.

I was given this book by NetGalley for an honest review-
Helena has been in jail accused of murdering a man which she claims isn’t true. She has had a horrible time in jail, and now that she is out she hopes to heal, She sets up a tent on her grandmas old property where she is discovered by the man who purchased it, The love is real- he takes her home and helps her heal but of course you will have to read to find out more!

I am *so* obsessed with this romantic thriller series from Abbie Roads. It’s romance, it’s a bit of magic, it’s fated love, it’s criminal minds level crimes. Just *so* good. This one doesn’t come out for a few months, which gives you plenty of time to read the first two in kindle unlimited. This is technically a stand alone, but there is some background into the mmc’s life in the previous books which is helpful to have!

Helena has just been released from two decades in prison for a crime she didn’t commit. She’s also lucky she made it out alive, with the number of brutal attempt made on her life. She’s drawn to her old home, now owned by Thomas, who is drowning in his own awful past. Quickly they realize there is something powerful pulling them together and that by joining forces maybe they can solve both their pasts.

This was super sweet between the main two, but the crimes are super brutal. If you, like me, went through an intense criminal minds obsession, the bad guys in Abbie Roads’ books feel like textbook unsubs, but the love between the main characters make her books better than the show. I also love the paranormal adjacent part of her work, which connects the characters on a deeper level. They both also have to overcome some horrendous past abuse, but do it by loving each other. This whole series is so so good and I’ll definitely be checking out more from

Loved Helena and Thomas’s story. Finding true love and friendship. Original story with heartbreak and romance.

I think I have a love-gah relationship with this series. All three books have been beautifully written, each interconnected storyline so very different from the usual romantic suspense/supernatural suspense fare. The books are all hard to put down. And yet I also find them a little difficult to connect to. The heroes are all steadfast and the heroines survivors, each couple an unstoppable force, but their experiences are almost too far from normal to be able to relate to. Each couple is so much of a unit that there's not a lot of room for anyone else. And by "anyone else," I mean us readers.

Like the first two books, this book features a couple based on a local legend. The idea is that they can heal each other while carrying their own individual supernatural talents (the heroines'only showing up after they meet their men). In this book, we know about Thomas's ability to connect with a person's shadow of death, but we don't really see much of this gift in action. Helen's gift is her ability to dream walk into the dreams of strangers in danger and teach them what they need to survive. Again, we only see her ability a few times, and the first two are completely random, unrelated to her life.

This story is somewhat intended as a standalone in that each couple gets their own book, but they are quite interconnected, and even having read the previous books, I didn't fully remember what has happened previously.

If you like tragic pasts and supernatural gifts served with you romance, you'll emit this novel, but I strongly recommend that you read all the books in the series in order and not let much time pass in between.

I received a copy of this book for free from the publisher and Netgalley. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!
