Eva, seeking change after a miscarriage and breakup, finds solace in the Cobbled Courtyard, where she focuses on her pottery. There, she encounters Fitz, a skilled wood carver with a mysterious past in Lilacwell. Their immediate connection hints at mutual healing as they confront their respective challenges. This charming small-town romance offers a delightful and easily digestible read, making it enjoyable from beginning to end. While it stands well on its own, delving into the other Lilacwell stories enhances the overall experience. Reading the trilogy in order is recommended for maximum enjoyment.
A beautiful story that keeps you hooked in feeling the emotional rollercoaster for the different characters. This is well written and leaves you wanting to know more...
A sweet but sad start to this one. The story progressed well and all turned out OK in the end. A lovely story to read. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review
Eva is a potter and when she has a miscarriage and her boyfriend isn't supportive she moves to Lilacwell. She meets Fitz who is a carpenter and they bond with each other.
Lovely book would definitely recommend
Shame this is the last in this series set in Lilacwell. We have met some lovely characters along the way and this brings another story for all to read. Loved the series and give this 5 stars.
Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC
The story of Eva and Fitz, but also the others who call Lilacwell home. Eva and Fitz are both hiding out there after events in their lives, but will they find happiness with each other?
This was a cosy book for reading around the pool, some of the chapters seemed very long and they didn't need to be, it was written in the third person which I don't enjoy, not a great read for me, sorry
Together in Lilacwell is the third book in the series set in The Cobble Craft Yard. We are introduced to the enigmatic carpenter Fitz who keeps himself to himself. Fitz is doing his best to remain under the radar and hide from his troubled past. Eva arrives to takeover the pottery studio following a tragic miscarriage, breakdown of relationship and in search of a brand opportunity to makeover her life. Pottery was a hobby that go set aside as life took over. Can she make a go of the pottery, and how will she get on with the other crafters in the Craft Yard. We follow Eva as she starts over. Follow the continuing story of the residents. Overall this is an easy and undemanding read. I received an ARC from Netgalley.
A truly stunning book from Lilac; her books get better and better. It is beautifully written with lovely descriptions.
I would firstly just like to say a big thank you to NetGalley who very kindly forwarded me an arc copy of this book, for my kindle, in return for my honest review.
Together in Lilacwell is book number three from the Lilacwell Village series and is a lovely, heartwarming, cosy village romance and I thoroughly enjoyed it, very much!
After some quite traumatic life events, Eva needs a change, so she escapes to the Cobbled Courtyard of Lilacwell and there she meets and befriends Fitz, who is also trying to escape from his past.
This was such an easy book to read and the words flowed beautifully and just kept me wanting to read more!
It was a beautifully written book, very emotional and heartwarming and I enjoyed everything about it………
Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
This is the third book in the series, but can also be read as a standalone.
The story covered, sensitively some topics that readers will relate to.
I loved the setting of this story, and the characters. It highlighted how community and friends are important to us, as well as, it’s never too late for a second chance.
I highly recommend this book.

One Liner: Mismatched expectations and styles
Eva decides to start fresh and invest in her pottery career after a miscarriage and breakup with an unresponsive and selfish boyfriend. This decision takes her to Lilacwell, a gorgeous small town a few hours away from her home. She meets the mysterious Fitz, the local carpenter with handsome features and a possibly hidden past.
Fitz feels instant attraction towards Eva but needs to face his past before he can move ahead with her and get into a relationship. They need to help each other to find their HEA. Of course, the local community is more than happy to provide the necessary support.
We also get detailed insights into the lives of others and how some of them make the most important decisions of their lives.
The story comes in the third-person POV of multiple characters.
My Thoughts:
I’m always up for sweet small-town romance with adorable covers. Just look how beautiful it is! The premise is sweet too, and so are most of the characters.
I didn’t know this was a series when I requested it. Of course, that wasn’t really an issue. We get enough backstory to know what had happened in the previous books.
There are multiple tracks, each dedicated to different couples. The ones from books #1 and #2 have a lot of space in this one. Other characters also get their POVs, which makes it more of a community book (needless to say, I didn’t expect this and didn’t know why until I read the author’s note at the end.). Soon, I adjusted my expectations.
The book introduces a character and provides their backstory before moving on with the story. While it helped the main characters, it felt a little too much for the side characters. Of course, it’s hard to say who the side characters are, as many get equal importance.
The writing is easy enough to read. The book begins with Eva’s story, which makes a strong impact. Unfortunately, the others don’t feel the same (even Fitz’s story pales despite being poignant).
My biggest issue is with the execution and timeline. Instant attraction is fine, but the rest of it feels surreal. I couldn’t connect with how Eva and Fitz’s relationship progresses. That’s because the bonding between them happens off-page and has to be assumed. The story begins when a side character is in her first trimester and ends when her baby is three months old. The issue isn’t with the time but how it jumps every few weeks and months, summarizing the most vital part of the lead couple’s relationship.
With such a tender premise, the book could have a tear-jerker or a heartwarming romance where two wounded souls come together and heal each other. Here, it’s pretty much on the surface. I think this is a case of mismatched reading and writing styles. The author’s writing style didn’t work for me. So I’d say this is a case of ‘not you, it’s me’. Readers of the series are likely to love this book.
To summarize, Together in Lilacwell is a rounded conclusion to the series and should be read in order if you want the right feel of it. It is a sweet and cozy romance with minor issues that get resolved fast. It’s a quick read, too. A good summer book.
Thank you, NetGalley and Canelo Escape, for the eARC. This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book.
Loved this community and have enjoyed the previous novels in the series. Love all the laughter and tears the books bring alive with there characters. Looking forward to more books from Sasha
Disappointingly, this is the last in the Lilacwell series. I’ve enjoyed all the books but perhaps this one the most as by this stage I feel I know the characters and setting. The new romance was good and the backstory of the characters added to this. Eagerly awaiting the next Sasha Morgan book.
This multiple POV book is based in the village of Lilacwell. We follow the stories of several characters, including Eva and Fitz. Eva has headed for Lilacwell following a break up prompted by a miscarriage. The book addresses many issues within society, making the book relatable from all angles. This read is fast-paced and jumps from one aspect to another which can be confusing at times, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed this read.
I loved this book and would recommend it.
This is the third instalment in this series but can be read as a standalone. This series is so much more than a cosy romance as the author covers a lot of sensitive and relatable issues within the story. The characters are engaging as is the storyline and setting and highlights the importance of friends and community and how important they are and that it’s never too late for second chances.
Lliacwell is place to go if you want to meet lovely characters, share their joys and griefs, escape from reality.
A life affirming and heartwarming story
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine
I didn't realise that this was the final book in a series, until I read the author's note at the end.
I'd found the large cast of characters confusing and it took me until half way through the book to work out who was who.
I'd thought the storylines for each set of characters was rushed to conclusion, without much depth.
However, if you've read the series, this final book will make much more sense and be far more satisfying.
This book is a story about two people who have been badly burned in the past but are learning to grow together, as well as many POV chapters from some other villagers. I liked the initial set up of the story and although the themes would ordinarily be quite heavy they were relatively lighthearted in this book. which was nice. It was nice to read a novel where the characters are very self-aware and relatively good communicators, the pacing was good and nothing felt overly drawn out, with a few plot twists in there.
There were a few continuity errors but these are easy to ignore. I struggled to develop a relationship with the other characters and was itching for the story to get back to Eva and Fitz but that is probably because I haven't read the first two in the Lilacwell series. By the mid-point, it felt a bit like the story was no longer Fitz and Eva's.
Overall, this is a sweet, small town romance that was a quick, easy read, and very enjoyable from start to finish. I'd like to go back and read the other Lilacwell stories.
TLDR: Sweet small town romance, but would have preferred more Fitz and Eva scenes.
Rating: 3.5/5
The third book in the Lilacwell series, “Together in Lilacwell” is a cosy, captivating and emotionally charged novel perfect for snuggling up with for a relaxing afternoon of romantic escapism. The story will delight and uplift you in equal measure exploring the power of healing, second chances, and the possibility of finding love amidst personal struggles.
We return to the idyllic village with Eva, a woman in need of a fresh start after a tragic miscarriage and the ending of a toxic relationship. From the moment she steps into The Cobbled Courtyard we are transported into a world overflowing charm and a sprinkling of mystery. Eva’s love interest comes in the form gorgeous and enigmatic carpenter Fitz - another wounded soul seeking refuge in the village. Their connection and sizzling chemistry is instant and as they navigate their own personal demons they find solace and understanding in each other's company.
The character development in this book is exceptional and Eva's journey of healing and self-discovery is beautifully portrayed- allowing us to empathise with her pain and root for her as she rebuilds her life. Fitz, with his own troubled past, adds a further layer of depth and complexity to the story which keeps you engaged throughout.
The supporting cast of equally engaging characters are those from the previous novels with whom we get to have a catch up like that with old friends. Lilacwell is once again described with such vividness that it becomes a character in its own right and with its cobbled streets and quaint charm it is the perfect backdrop for the characters' emotional journeys. The themes of healing and second chances are delicately woven throughout the narrative as the author explores the idea that running from one's past is not the solution, but rather facing it head-on and finding the strength to heal and move forward.
All in all “Together in Lilacwell" is a beautifully written and emotionally resonant novel that will tug at your heartstrings and remind you of the possibility of finding love and happiness even in the midst of adversity. If you're looking for a heartfelt, uplifting and romantic read, this book is a must, perfect for fans of Jo Bartlett, Rachael Lucas and Jessica Redland.
