Pro:
* Maritime history of Salem - good angle instead of the expected Salem tropes
* Unique way of bringing in the current crime & set of suspects
* Familiar friends and habits without feeling formulaic, the series has settled in to a comfortable community.
*
Con:
* Audiobook narrator is so over-emoting and annoying
* I don’t buy that Pete will just start discussing cases with Lee.

Carol Perry in Now You See It once again involves WICH TV in Salem with finding out whodunit for murder and theft as a new museum is being set up. Our heroine with the help of her psychic cat assists her policeman husband in sleuthing. Suspects include 2 sisters involved in setting up exhibits. Tune in for a humorous cozy.

The latest installment of Carol J. Perry's Witch City Mysteries a fun as usual. Lee and Pete are now married and we still see Lee, her aunt and friends, solving all the town mysteries. This one deals with murders and the opening of a new museum dedicated to the seafaring trades in New England. When bodies are discovered along with missing artifacts, you can be sure Lee is on the case.

Princess Fuzzypants here: This series has never failed to entertain. Between Lee, her aunt, Pete who is now her husband, best friend River and of course O’Ryan, the wonder cat the stories are always interesting and well paced with just the right combination of supernatural and good old investigative reporting and police work.

Lee is loving married life. She enjoys her job as Program Director but longs to return to her first love, in front of the camera. She gets her chance when the station decides to do a documentary about a new museum that will celebrate Salem’s maritime history with fantastic displays. The excitement is marred when the delivery driver who brought some of the exhibits to the museum is murdered with his own gun. What flummoxes everyone is nothing appears to have been stolen. Why was he killed and who is the killer.

As she is caught up with the preparations of the exhibits, Lee gets a chance to meet many of the people involved. When it comes to light that there have been things stolen and one of those volunteers is arrested, it does not sit right. But Pete needs proof to make another arrest. Thanks to a team effort and some very specific clues from O’Ryan, the perp is brought to justice. But not before supplying hours of reading enjoyment. Five purrs and two paws up.

Thirteen books in and still going strong! I love this series for it's solid mysteries, engaging and memorable characters, light touch of paranormal and, of course, O'Ryan, the cat. In this outing, Lee Barrett forays into documentary making as part of her job at WICH-TV by covering the opening of a new museum in Salem. When an armored car driver is shot delivering artifacts for the museum, Lee's job dovetails into her new husband's investigation. With both the official investigation and that led by her aunt Ibby sharing some leads, it can't be long until the case is solved.

This is my favorite of the series so far! I loved the addition of the museum and the fascinating artifacts. The characters continue to delight as they grow in their relationships. The mystery developed very slowly and, at one point, I forgot there was even a victim but this was all just to lay the groundwork for the final reveal and it was well worth the wait. I look forward to the next in the series.

Witch City Mysteries move at a slower pace than some other cozy mysteries, so it takes me a little bit of time to adjust to the pace. There are many pieces to the puzzle presented in the book. It takes a bit of time to set all those elements in place. The solution to the puzzles and murder wrap up fairly quick once all the pieces are in order.
I like Lee and Pete and the collaborative nature of their relationship. I like their interactions with Aunt Ibby, her friends and Michael Martell.
The proposed museum in Salem sounds like a fantastic place to visit. I enjoyed reading Now You See It.
Thanks to Netgalley and Kensington Cozies for the opportunity to review this book.

Now You See It is book #13 in the Witch City Mystery series by Carol J. Perry.

This was a fun story to read. Lee being given another hat to wear is just like real life.
I love the setting in Salem and the autumn feel of the book. The characters are people I’d like to spend time with and O’Ryan is something else. It was an entertaining mystery that kept me guessing. I look forward to the next book.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Based on the synopsis, I didn’t live this book as much as I thought I would but it still worth reading. Hopefully the series will grow and improve

(Witch City 13)

Lee is baack! Along with Aunt Ibby, O’Ryan, and her new husband Detective Pete Mondello.
Lee is given a new task by Mr. Doan. Lee has three days to clear the deck on her regular production duties to five shows. Because starting the Tuesday, after Labor Day. She and Francine are being tasked as the new Historical Documentary team. Their job will be to spend the next three weeks chronicling the startup to the opening of the new Salem International Museum.

We have a murder before the assignment can even begin. Lee doesn’t find out until that night. River plays a larger part in this book. Theft, murder, mistaken identity, and family betrayal. This mystery has it all and more!

5*****

Book 13 features Lee, Aunt Ibby, Pete, River, and last but most important the amazing O’Ryan.

Prior helpful series information.
A Triple Layer Halloween Murder is a short Halloween time glimpse into the life of our favorite WICH-TV reporter Maralee, it takes place before ‘Til Death, book 12 in the Witch City series, and can be found in the Halloween Cupcake Murder Anthology. While the series does not need to be read in order, I have enjoyed watching Lee grow and change as a character. If you would like to jump into the start of Maralee’s current status begin with See Something (Witch City 11).

Maralee (Lee) is back at work after her wedding and wish yet another new job title at tv station. Naturally of course there is a murder to look into and also possibly a haunted ship? Lee may have moved but we still get to see aunt Ibby, river and O’ryan (obviously Pete too.)

Great series, setting, characters and fun fall atmosphere.

Now You See It is the 13th book to the Witch Series Mystery but this one you can read without reading the other ones. I truly enjoyed reading this fall cozy mystery by Carol J. Perry. I enjoyed the characters but the cat was so amazing and sassy. This had the perfect fall vibe and I could just imagine walking through their cozy fall town. Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for this ARC read in exchange for the honest review.

I so enjoy this series and I'm really liking seeing Lee and Pete adjust to married life. With O'Ryan's help of course. Like most long running series there is a lot of information about Lee's regular life. In the previous books we've gotten to know her and the people who surround her and gotten to follow her career journey so for readers who have been around since the beginning this feels like visiting old friends. For new readers it may be confusing or not as interesting so I do recommend starting from an earlier book.

Christmas is coming to Salem and the author is giving a fascinating glimpse into the city's rich history. While Salem is best know for their very witch-y history it also was a town made wealthy by the seafaring trade which is absolutely fascinating.

While there is a lot going on in the book the mystery is still prominent and I really liked seeing Lee and Pete get used to their new dynamic of investigating as a married couple and now that Lee is now program director instead of being a reporter.

There's a bit of a paranormal note between O'Ryan's rather forceful guidance and Lee's visions but this still reads as a traditional cozy. There's likable characters and a fun setting all focused around a puzzling mystery that really did keep me guessing. I very much enjoyed this read and am looking forward for more from this author!

DNF at 20% - didn't love how the author/characters referred to some of the others...such as "that Indian man" before even saying a name?! Also don't love the comments about MC being domesticated, though that is just a personal ICK.

Now You See It is the 13th installment of The Witch City Mystery series by Carol J. Perry. I have enjoyed this series throughout with great characteres, a atmospheric setting of Salam and fun sleuthing. Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for the opportunity. My review opinions are my own.

Lee is married now to her Detective husband. As she adjust to married life she is offered a new position with the Salam museum setting up archives and historical displays. She loves her new positon one that she is trained for. When a driver of a truck delivery of antiques is murdered Lee and her husband are on the case. She is joined by her smart orange cat O'Ryan who helps her solve clues. Aunt Ibby, is back and as always a close confidant and a good support system for Lee. The sleuth was well crafted to conclusion and I enjoyed the Salam historical aspect.
I look forward to the next in series.

Lee and Pete are settling into married life in this latest installment in a fun series. And Lee's got a great new job making historical documentaries. So, when the driver of an armored car bringing new treasures to a local museum is murdered and some of the antiques stolen she's back in action as an amateur detective. Pete might be the real thing but Lee, Aunt Iby, and O'Ryan the cat (that's right- the cat) are on the case as well. It's a well crafted paranormal cozy with good characters that will be fine as a standalone but which long time fans (like me) will welcome to see the progress in everyone's lives. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good read.

Now You See It is the 13th installment of The Witch City Mystery series by Carol J. Perry. I love this series and was happy to be able to read an ARC from NetGalley. With every new book in the series, it's like a return trip to Salem, MA, to visit old friends such as Lee, Pete, River, Aunt Ibby and of course O'Ryan, the intuitive orange tabby. The Witch City Mystery series is a great read not just at Halloween, but any time of the year.

Now You See It is the thirteenth book in the Witch City Mysteries series by Carol J. Perry, It works well as a standalone.

This has become one of my favorite cozy mystery series; I don't want to miss a single one! I have come to really like all the characters, not only the main ones: Maralee and her husband Pete, but also the supporting people in each story, I also love how the author introduces some new, interesting ones to the mix and comes up with a plot that includes lots of great details.

As far a cozy mysteries go, this is a five star addition.

I love Carol J. Perry's books and this one was so much fun! Lee and Pete are married (O'Ryan the cat splits his time between Lee and her Aunt Ibby) and adjusting to their new life. When Lee gets a new assignment to cover the creation of a museum, she doesn't expect to use her mystery solving skills. However, a murder linked to the museum along with thefts, set the stage for a keep you guessing mystery!

I love the fact that we've seen Lee and Pete's relationship grow and his acceptance of her "gift". for solving mysteries. The plot is full of twists and turns and I loved the Autumn "feel" of the book. Aunt Ibby, who raised Lee, is a fascinating character and it was fun to read more of her exploits, The supporting characters were just as interesting as the main characters. The ambiance, in the description of the museum was wonderful and I fe!t as if I was right there with Lee looking for clues. . If you're looking for a entertaining mystery with a bit of paranormal - try this one!

I can't wait for the next book!

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the opinions expressed in this re
