Dive boots-first into the Chestnut Springs series with "Flawless," Elsie Silver's sensational opening act! 🌟🤠
Meet Rhett, the rule-breaking cowboy with a knack for bull riding and trouble. But guess what? Trouble comes in the form of Summer, his agent's sassy daughter who's tasked with babysitting this cowboy tornado. 🐂👩‍🍼
🤠 Summer's got a sharp tongue and a watchful eye that Rhett doesn't exactly appreciate, making for a hilarious clash of wills. 🗣️👀
"Flawless" serves up everything you crave: age gap charm, small-town allure, forced proximity fun, banter that'll have you snorting, and just the right sprinkling of spice. 🌆❤️🔥

Flawless is the kick start to the Chestnut Springs series by Elsie Silver and it does EXACTLY that! It kick starts your interest for the world of Chestnut Springs and makes you want to devour the entire series so you can see all the characters (who may be side characters in Flawless) have their moment in the spotlight of the books that continue the series!

I had heard a lot of love and opinions of Flawless and was so excited to get into it, even though it's more of a cowboy romance, which is something I haven't really explored that much yet BUT boy was this a great way to start! The tension and chemistry between Rhett (the bull-riding, a bit chaotic MMC) and Summer (the put together, Rhett's agent's daughter FMC) was CRAZY! Once the two characters met I just could not put the book down! I NEEDED to know how it was going to go for them, not only in terms of their relationship but also some other aspects of the book because this book does one of my FAVORITE things where there is mystery surrounding aspects of the MCs lives and you just want to know all the details so you cannot stop reading!

This book was such a fun read because it had such a novel meet-cute/situation, a protective MMC, a people pleaser FMC, a dash of enemies to friends to lovers because in the beginning Summer and Rhett were nottttt the closest/best of friends..., there's one bed, Rhett's agent's daughter, messy family drama, etc. The list just keeps going and going as to why this was such a fun read but all in all, I can say that I def recommend checking this book out and diving into the world of Chestnut Springs!

I absolutely loved this book!! I love that it was a sports romance with a sport I had never read before (bull riding), I love the small town vibes, and that it was set in Canada! The romance was so swoon worthy and the characters were all so lovable, I loved all of the Eaton’s and cannot wait for the rest of the series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bloom Books for providing an arc in exchange for an honest review.
Flawless rereleases August 29, 2023

This was even better the second time around!
I was lowkey hoping to read the bonus Harvey chapters, but I guess they're only in the final print versions and not the arcs...

original review:

“Choosing each other. Finding each other. Showing up for each other.
And everything about the moment is flawless.”

It's the way I came for a cute Canadian cowboy romance, but was left pondering and realizing some deep shit pertaining to life!! I genuinely wasn't ready for that.
“And I ask myself, if this were my last moment on earth, would I go happy?”

Flawless is the first book in the Chestnut Springs series — a small Canadian town on the outskirts of Calgary — told in dual pov, featuring Rhett and Summer.

Rhett is a cowboy and professional bull rider. A man with a grumpy exterior to most, but underneath all of that, is a soft and protective gentleman.
As a true hater of milk, this leads to Rhett tanking one of his sponsorships.
Brought together by forced proximity, the daughter of his boss's talent agency now has to shadow him for two months. Where Rhett goes, Summer follows, and that includes moving into his family’s ranch called the Wishing Well.

Rhett and Summer’s chemistry and banter was delectable. Their relationship had some great development and natural progression.
The one bed trope, sidewalk rule (!!), caretaking, and whipped cream scene had me weak.

For Rhett, it was finally knowing the feeling of being a priority and having someone show up for you, and for Summer, it was breaking down those built up walls of being a people pleaser and really asking herself: what does she want? What makes her happy? — both of which I loved for them.
Plus the way that Summer had slyly admitted that Rhett felt like home (before they were even intimate!) had me knowing that this was the real deal.

The twists between Rob and Winter had me sick, as did the absolute gut-wrenching grand gesture between Rhett and Theo.

Starting nearly every chapter with short text message threads was new for me, but I really enjoyed how it brought structure, cohesion and was a way to slide in some witty remarks and further showcase their personalities.

As a city girl, I never thought I’d feel this type of way towards a cowboy romance but the core themes really left a lasting impression.
I can’t wait to read the next installments from the pov’s of the other Eaton brothers.

Wow! Thank you to NetGalley, Sourcebooks bloom, and Elsie Silver for this E Arc in exchange for my honest review. Elsie Silver is one of my favorite authors. It is a great intro to the chestnut springs series. I love these characters and this world. Rhett is not my favorite bull riding cowboy, but he grows on you. Please pick up this series. It is worth it.

solid 4⭐️s - i received this arc from the publishers since they are re-releasing this and it was so good! i loved summer and rhett’s banter and how she didn’t back down even when he was grumpy/rude in the beginning. rhett folded so quickly for summer and i loved his jealousy/protectiveness. now i am dying to read the others in this series 🫣🤗

This book put me right into my cowboy era. Rhett is everything. Not only were the characters funny, relatable, but the smut was top tier. I never thought I would ever be into the princess nickname.

I don't think I have a whole lot to say about this one. It wasn't bad but it also wasn't all that good and while it was an easy read it won't be a memorable one. Except for maybe how phoned-in and lame that sub-plot drama with Summer's ex was. That felt very soap-y to me and combined with how her sister was behaving.. just felt very manufactured. Nothing real about those cardboard cut-outs, no sirree. Whereas Rhett's brothers definitely felt more real but of course they have to because they each hold a stereotypical shape of a hero for future books to come.

I realize I sound bitter but I'm not really. Though maybe writing this review at zero dark thirty wasn't the best idea. Again, this wasn't bad, I just don't feel it did much of anything new (which is fine) but neither did it dazzle me with the familiarity we want and reach for in this genre.

Also, why, in the early pages of the book are we under the impression that Summer knows Rhett's mum has passed but then halfway through the book she's shocked to find out about it? I'm so confused.

Will I read on? Oh probably. Why? Because I am who I am.

Every time I reread this book, I am reminded that this book is flawless in more ways than just its name.

Flawless is the perfect small town, enemies to lovers, forced proximity romance! Every character in this book—whether it be Summer and Rhett or Rhett’s family—was so lovable. This was a book where you want to just live in the world the characters do.

Summer and Rhett had such an interesting dynamic. From their banter to their sexual tension, I was hooked! Their relationship brought out different sides of both of them. Being with Summer softened Rhett up and made him reflect upon where he’s at in life. Without Summer, Rhett probably would have ran himself into the ground. On the other hand, being with Rhett opened Summer up to the possibility of doing what SHE wanted rather than what she thought other people wanted from her.

Cowboy romance Era....officially unlocked. I loved Summer and Rhett from the first you've got to be kidding me to wearing the hat/riding the cowboy. The found family aspect is something I'm always quick to fall for and it did not dissapoint. Also. The epilogue 🥰🫠🥰, y'all as much as I want more Rhett and Summer, the rest of the series is going to reck me in the best of ways I can already feel it (and I'm glad to know we haven't seen the last of them!) Did I maybe also run to download the gold rush ranch series? Perhaps....🤷‍♀️😊🥰

This one, is FOR SURE worth the hype 🤠 and I definitely see a reread in the very near future.

Thank you Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for the ARC in exchange for my review!

The forced proximity trope with a sprinkle of enemies to lovers is just chefs kiss 🤌🏼 Rhett is the sweetest guy underneath the persona he puts on for the rest of the world . Summer and Rhett’s banter was top tier. I love all of the Eaton brothers already and I’m excited to read their own stories!

Obsessed. Completely and utterly obsessed.

I feel like I’ve always had it ingrained in my head that I don’t like cowboy romances? And I literally have no idea where that came from because every single cowboy romance I’ve read I’ve loved.

And this book solidified I am officially a cowboy romance fiend. Especially for Rhett Eaton. This man… Oh. My. God. The audacity he has to be as amazing as he is??? It’s truly unfair. Sign me up to marry a bull rider or cowboy. I’m ready.

In all seriousness, this book was nothing like I was expecting which was incredible. I didn’t know much of anything about this book going into it. So I truly got to be wrapped up in these characters, in this world, and everything was so perfect.

Rhett and Summer are everything. I adore them individually and I adore them together. Summer has a special place in my heart because I am just as much of a people pleaser as she is. My heart ached for her so much throughout this story and watching her come into her own was just beautiful and gave me some hope that that can happen for me too. Rhett owned my heart just as much. This man’s perfect match truly was Summer. He needed someone to love him in that soft way that she did. And the other way around. Rhett cared for her in ways she hadn’t experienced but so desperately needed. I’m completely obsessed with them both.

This story was incredible. I’m now on my way to reading the next one because I NEED to know Cade’s story more than my next breath.

3.5 Stars

I thought I got rejected for this ARC so I actually read it on Kindle Unlimited a few weeks ago after so many of my friends loved it. I liked it. It was a good little spicy romance read. It was pretty over the top in the drama department but if you’re looking for something sexy and sweet then this is for you.

I WOW absolutely loved this book, once I picked it up I couldn't put it down. Thank you so much for the ARC.

It is a fun, small-town romance with a hot bull-riding playboy who needs his image cleaned up. He meets his match with the assigned "babysitter," Summer, whom his PR agent makes him have.

The story is a forced proximity, enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, slow burn. And if you are like me, slow burn's sometimes makes me a bit irritable. The long build-up is quite frustrating, but I did enjoy the banter Rhett and Summer had with each other.

I read "Flawless" out of order, but I don't believe that impacted anything. I still think this was sweet, spicy - though it took a long time - and entertaining.

I received a copy of this book for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.

I loved this book so so so much. I read it a few months ago and did a reread with a book club this last month. It really is one of the best stories I have read. Rhett and Summer relationship is literally everything. I love their banter and chemistry right from the get go.

I love that Summer truly wants to support Rhett, and not just be his babysitter. She is trying to help him have a better attitude about things. As we uncover more about these two it just makes you fall in love with them even more!!

I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

I was a little nervous going into this book because there is SO much hype around it and I was afraid I was subconsciously going to come into it with too high of expectations but don't worry folks because I LOVED this and I think a majority of romance readers will too!!

Elsie's writing is...such an incredible balance of realistic and dramatic? Like there were scenes that made me drop my jaw and my phone, but then there were scenes where I thought to myself "dang that's so relatable and I've never read that in a romance". Elsie Silver navigates the larger-than-life elements with the "this is real life" elements so deftly.

Summer is the FMC I want to read about always. I want to read capable, flawed, mature women who take action in their lives. I shouldn't use this review to "diss" other romances, but I will say I have had some trouble in contemporary romances lately with FMCs who I find to be un-self-aware and passive in their lives. Summer, while not perfect, is not this at all. She has multiple internal conflicts and they are all grounded in reality - as another mid-twenties something woman I could completely relate to her.

One of the themes in this book is how to process and get over shame when it comes to past relationships which is INCREDIBLY interesting to me and I honestly feel like it's the first romance I've read that touches on this topic or at least touches on it as expertly as this book does. I think Elsie really struck gold here with that.

And you know what I loved about Rhett? I fully believe there is a Rhett Eaton walking this earth. Rhett is such a dude, and I mean that as a compliment. Like he is an actual gentleman, who is super goofy and makes dumb bro jokes that made me laugh. He wasn't perfect, but every action he took made sense for his character.

This book was so funny too!! I am now entering my Willa phase of life because I too would be p*ssed off if my best friend's boyfriend called her "princess" because I WOULD WANT THAT TO BE ME TOO WILLA I GET IT.

Willa and Cade?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?! Everyone prepare to be sick of me because Heartless is gonna be my personality for the next few weeks.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book. As I said earlier it is the perfect balance of real and melodrama (I mean that in the best way).
