Apparently, I too am in my cowboy era thanks to Elsie Silver. I went into this one very skeptical that I would enjoy this setting/theme having previously avoided cowboy romance like the plague. Turns out the hype is very much real with this series and Silver has made a complete convert out of me. The ranch life she submerges us in feels incredibly authentic and fun, and I enjoyed learning all about the sport of bull riding.
Another element I loved was the intense chemistry between our MCs. While I do love a steamy romance novel, I never want it to overtake the plot and the author does an excellent job of building the tension, along with their relationship, prior to any spice occurring. That, along with their top notch banter and the trope combo featured, led to one heck of a sexy romance. I cannot wait to continue on with the series.

Synopsis:
After many years of law school. Summer finds herself working for her dad who is an agent for many different types of athletes. What Summer does not expect is to be given a job “babysitting” a professional bull rider after a scandal has put him in the hot seat. But Summer will do anything for her dad and is always trying to better herself in every way.
Rhett doesn’t need a babysitter. Especially not an uptight woman who wears prissy skirts and always has a disapproving smirk on her face. Summer doesn’t just babysit him at shows, she has gone as far as to move into his home with him and his dad. Rhetts brothers, Cade and Beau, are getting a kick out of their baby brother needing a person watching over him constantly.
Over the next few months of working together, they start to get to know each other. Even though they say opposites attract. Especially when chaps are involved.
Review:
This novel was amazing. I devoured it within 24 hours. Summer had such a fun personality. Her inner dialogue had me laughing out loud while reading. She was super relatable to me with her constant need to follow the rules.
At the beginning of every chapter there was a text exchange between different characters, and I found myself looking forward to it every chapter. IThe banter within the texts had me laughing out loud.
This novel had a little bit of everything, slow burn, small town, enemies to lovers and more. There was even a surprise twist towards the end that I didn't see coming. This twist really threw me through a loop and made my heart ache even more for Summer. The only reason this was not a four star read for me was because of the miscommunication. That is always a hard one for me, but I really really loved this book!
Flawless is by far and away my favorite Elise Silver book to date. In fact, I own more than three physical copies and will more than likely buy this new traditional edition. The writing flowed seamlessly, the romance was perfection. I love everything about this world and have nothing negative to say. READ THIS BOOK AND THANK ME LATER BYEEEE
I can’t even express how much I loved this book! It is such a feel good read and it makes my heart happy! This was my first book by this author and I can’t wait to read more by her! I can already tell she is going to be one of my favorite authors!
Summer is a new agent with her father’s PR company and has been assigned to help a bad boy, bull rider straighten up his image. Rhett can’t stand the thought of having a “babysitter” and does everything he can to get under her skin…and she just gives it right back! The banter between these two was everything! I literally laughed out loud several times over their conversations and texts. I loved everything about this book (except for the stepmom). I loved the relationship Summer has with her dad, the small town vibe and Rhett’s family…I can’t wait to read Cade’s story! This is one of those story’s that will stick with me for a long time! It definitely lived up to all the hype! Highly recommend!
Synopsis: When Rhett, a professional bull rider, finds himself in a tricky situation with one of his biggest sponsors, his agent Kip hires his newly employed daughter, Summer, to stay by his side and make sure he stays out of trouble. Alternating between two POVs.
Thoughts: I am pushing to support more indie authors, and I really enjoyed this entertaining, steamy and fast-paced read. I LOVED the banter and chemistry between Rhett and Summer as well as Kip’s relationship with both of them. He was a great supporting character that knew when to father/ be a good boss vs. when to joke around. While this is advertised as an enemies to lovers story, I wouldn’t classify it as that. There is definitely some tension between the two main characters when they first meet, but that blows over pretty quickly.

This isn't my typical reading genre but after hearing all the hype, I had to give it a try. I couldn't put it down!!! Cowboy romances might be one of my new favorite genres. I adored the characters and the setting of this story. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
One thing about me is that I’m always going to love a small-town romance.
When Rhett gets into a scandal his agent assigns his daughter as Rhett’s “babysitter” and let me just say that Summer and Rhett are HOT! I’m officially into my cowboy romance era and I’m loving every minute of it. Rhett had me blushing every other page.
I’m not going to sit here and claim this is the best literary piece I’ve ever read but I loved the characters and sometimes all you need is a cheesy little grumpyxsunshine romance with a lot of spice.
P.S. Where can I find my own Rhett?
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this arc in exchange for an honest review.
Love, love, love! Don't sleep on Elsie Silver!
Flawless is the perfect small-town, cowboy romance. With bonus points for being by a Canadian author (I am a little biased). It was not a combo I thought I would love to be honest, I am not a cowboy fan generally, but Rhett was so charming, and despite the ridiculous :"romance reasons" for why these two end up in each others lives, the whole story is just lovely. Elsie does a combination of creating a strong female main character with a perfectly matched male hero, a touch of spice, and some true heart and grit.
Rhett needs to clean up his image as the bad boy of professional bull riding. His agent assigns his own daughter to babysit the bad boy. He falls for her....
Enjoyed reading this fun book. Lots of fun scenes... Summer and Rhett are terrific characters. Each has their own past to deal with. I love seeing the real Summer and Rhett when they are completely honest with each other. Love the story!
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
This story started out seeming like a fun forbidden romance/enemies-to-lovers rom-com.
Once I was a few chapters in, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that there was a lot more depth to this story.
Summer has been through quite a lot in her young life. I won't spoil her background for anyone, but her story is quite heartbreaking, and at first it seems like she's stronger for it. As the story unfolds, we learn that she isn't as confident or self-assured as she seems.
When we first meet Rhett, he's cocky, confident and arrogant. His public image is a complete mess, and it seems like it has to do with his careless and carefree nature. It's once you're almost halfway through the story, that you can put the pieces together and realize that underneath his tough exterior is a compassionate cowboy who is starved for the kind of love and attention that only Summer can give him.
Their story is almost syrupy sweet, but the twists and turns certainly keep it interesting. You can't help but root for these two adorable characters!

Well hot damn, can I just say that Rhett Eaton has made me fall in love with cowboys and small town romance. A hot rodeo cowboy is forced to coexist with his agents daughter Summer and sparks fly. I loved every minute of this read and I've fallen in love with the Chestnut springs series.
I LOVE Elise Silver and her Chestnut Springs series!
I have read every book that Elsie has published and I am eagerly awaiting her next cowboy romance. I would consider Elise the queen of romance, her books are the perfect amount of steam and plot. Rhett is the PERFECT book boyfriend and I loved the backstory for Summer (I actually just finished her sister Winter's book and I loved watching their relationship blossom).
I can't wait for Elise's next book!
Ahhh Rhett and Summer! What a pair. Elsie Silver was my first foray into cowboy romances and let me just say- I didn’t hate it!
I loved what a strong character Summer is and how she doesn’t take any slack from Rhett or her father. She’s strong and capable and smart.
I love that we eventually get to see Rhett’s true side and the way he shakes off his professional persona.
I’m obsessed with so many of the side characters and you can see how the series will continue to be something you get invested in.
I also love these new Bloom covers! Thank you to NetGalley and Bloom!
I absolutely love Rhett Eaton, in all of his bull riding glory!
The chemistry between Rhett and Summer was palpable, and was made even more amazing by their forced proximity! I love how gone for her Rhett was. I also think that both the way that Rhett helped Summer heal from her past and how Summer helped him figure out his career was really sweet!
Summer’s past made this book feel more real. How her relationship with her ex was handled demonstrates just how good of a writer Elsie Silver is. Also, Summer’s relationships with her dad and sister were unique, taking common tropes and turning them on their head.
This review would not be complete without mentioning how much I love the Eatons and how excited I am to read about the rest of the brothers. Everyone needs a Harvey in their life!
Flawless was exactly that.. flawless. I love Elsie Silver’s books and this was no exception. It made me cry several times and really hit me in the feels. Whatever she writes, I will for sure read. Highly highly recommend!!
rhett and summer were fantastic. i absolutely loved them and their chemistry. i loved the eaton family and especially loved the entire vibe of the book. romantic yellowstone fans will very much enjoy this book and series as a whole. thank you to netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review! :)
I never thought I'd be into cowboys, but boy has Elsie Silver changed my mind in a BIG way! Over the past year Elsie Silver has become one of my favorite authors, and I'm thrilled her books are being picked up by a traditional publisher. I'm so excited to pick up more of her books in the future, and with these gorgeous new covers!
A professional bull rider with a wild streak, Rhett has pissed off his agent one too many times that he decides to leave Rhett with his daughter to deal with instead. Summer needs to prove to her dad that she can do the job she came for, and if she can make sure Rhett stays out of trouble she may be able to prove to her father that she can handle herself and more responsibility in the business. It's too bad Rhett and Summer are gonna fall in love instead.
I loved this book so much! In every hate to love romance, my favorite moments are always when the characters are soft with each other. Summer has been through so much in her past and Rhett is feeling especially vulnerable about his past injuries and what they mean for his career moving forward, and I just loved the small ways they supported and uplifted each other without judgement.
Also, the spice in here? Next level. The chemistry between these two is unmatched, and I ate up every second of it.
In any long romance series, my favorite thing is to take a look at the side characters and speculate about which characters will fall in love next. Even though this is only the first book, this world is already so expansive with the secondary characters in Summer and Rhett's life, as well as the conflict they face with some of them.
Summer and Winter's conflict was particularly interesting, for example, as their already-fraught relationship is made even more complicated when we find out Winter's fiance is Summer's ex. Not just an ex, but a man who took advantage of Summer. Everything culminates in the end in the juiciest family drama I've read in a long time, but doesn't exactly wrap up in the way of Summer and Winter's relationship quite yet. I know Winter gets a book later on, and I'm particularly anxious for hers because I want to see her and Summer heal their relationship.
I loved this book so much, and I can't wait for more books in this series, and not just for the romance! There are so many side characters I'm already so invested in and that I want to see happy in future books. That's the best thing about romance series', it's not just the main couple we're rooting for. Ultimately, we're rooting for all the people our main characters love to get their HEA's too.
“She and I really are binary stars, stuck in each other’s orbit, drawn together by forces we can’t see or understand—but that we can feel.”
I absolutely adored every page of this book. I loved how genuine the relationship between Rhett and Summer felt, and how they both grew individually, as well as together. The spice was SPICY, and just absolute perfection 👌🏽 Elsie Silver is without a doubt an insta buy author for me, and if you’re debating reading her work, just trust me when I say do it.
5/5 ⭐️ 3.5/5🌶️
I never thought I'd be into a cowboy romance, but here we are. Elsie Silver writes with so much zip! Her characters spark off the page. I think anyone could fall in love with a Southern gentleman with a dirty side like Rhett. Summer is the perfect mix of strong, sharp, and caring.
This book had the right mix of plot tension - Rhett and Summer's careers, the pressure for Rhett to win and leave a legacy, and his risk for injury - mixed with the opposites attract sexual tension between he and Summer. Though the ending started to drag a little for me, I found rodeo culture overall to be very engaging. Silver also has me excited for the next books in the series with the introduction of several fun side characters. Overall, this is a great start to a new series. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Yeeeeeeehaw!!! 🤠🤠🤠🤠 I’ve officially entered my cowboy romance era after being peer pressured into FINALLY starting the Chestnut Springs series from Elsie Silver. Flawless, the first in the series, introduces us to Summer, a recent law school grad working for her dad’s sports agency, and Rhett, a rough around the edges, older, bull riding cowboy whose reputation is in dire need of a makeover. Summer’s dad puts her on Rhett’s case and she moves into his family ranch with him for the summer to, well, babysit him. Did I mention that Summer had a poster of Rhett on her wall when she was in high school? Yeah, that definitely doesn’t make things weird.

This is your run of the mill, will they or won’t they, romance book. I knew what was coming with every page turn, I liked Summer, and I liked Rhett, and I loved Chestnut Springs. I read it in about 2 and a half hours and loved every second… especially Rhett’s fervor for certain activities🐱 I can’t wait to see what comes next in Chestnut Springs!
