This was my first book by this author but I will definitely be reading more. elsie silver’s writing is fast-paced, addicting, and full of laugh-out-loud banter. the banter in this book had me giggling and kicking my feet like crazy.
Plus I really enjoyed the whole cowyboy country vibe!
My mid star rating is due to the fact that I’m just really not sure.
There were moments I wanted to DNF (usage of give-a-fuck meter and slay) and there were moments it had potential to be a top romance read for me (you’re not a burden. you’re not a waste of time).
I really want to be into fictional cowboys but I just don’t think it’s for me.
Elsie Silver has been a big voice in this genre and I am so glad I finally read one of their books!
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review.
This is the first book of the Chestnut Springs series and also my first by this author. I don't really read a lot of cowboy themed romances, but it was interesting to get a glimpse into the world of bull riding. Summer and Rhett were interesting and well-developed characters. They had great chemistry from the moment they met, and it just continued to grow stronger. Rhett was having some trouble with his bull-riding sponsors and needed some help smoothing things over. Summer was the one to help him do just that. Although he didn't want her around at first, Rhett realized that he truly needed her. Summer wad his agent's daughter, and she was determined to prove herself to her dad.
An enjoyable story with a lot of heart and steam! It was an entertaining story and I look forward to continuing the series.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Thank you to Bloom Books, Netgalley, and Elsie Silver for the arc to read and review.
4/5 Stars
I have been wanting to read the Chestnut Springs series as it sounded right up my alley and it was. I got an arc of this before it was republished by Bloom but for some reason I didn’t read it then but when I got approved for an arc of Powerless I decided it was finally time to start the series as I also own book 2 physically. This was spicier than I expected, I don’t know why I didn’t expect this level of spice and dirty mouth but I loved it.
Summer Hamilton wants to prove herself in her father’s company and prove that she knows what she is doing but she didn’t expect that to mean babysitting Rhett Eaton who is the face of professional bull riding. Rhett Eaton is the golden boy of bull riding until he punches someone in the face… When his agent tries to figure out how to clean up his image he assigns Summer to babysit Rhett and bust his balls if he misbehaves. Summer wants this to not be painfully awkward the next few weeks and tries to at least be professional with Rhett but their feelings start being less than professional.
I loved how Summer really didn’t take shit from Rhett and was so willing to put that man in his place. She the whole time just wanted to help him even if that meant doing things he wasn’t going to like. I also loved that she is into body building and we often in books don’t see women heavily going to the gym like Summer is which was interesting. Rhett is so stubborn but also he understands where summer is coming from when she knocks his ego down a bit. I love the mutual understanding that these two eventually, they almost subconsciously at first start to understand each other a lot more and see that maybe they aren’t as different as it seems.
I can’t wait to continue this series as I am so excited to see Rhett’s brothers, Willia, and Winter’s stories as I think they will be very interesting. I oddly enough am the most excited for Winter’s book because I often love the very misunderstood characters and I think we will see a side that is deeply hidden for her after everything she has been through.
I love this world already and I know I am going to love the rest of the books!
“And everything about the moment is flawless.” From cowboys, family gatherings, fun banter, and spice. You will fall in love with this series!
This is the first book I read by Elsie and it won’t be my last! I love the series so far🔥 (also finished Powerless)
Let’s get into why I loved this book so much!
Rhett was raised in lovely Chestnut Springs but unlike his older brother, bull riding has always been his thing. With recent events and sponsorships dropping. Changes must be made.
Summer ends up working for her father’s business, Hamilton Elite. With Kip trying to figure out a way to control the infamous Rhett. He comes up with a plan for Summer to be Rhett’s glorified babysitter.
“But I’m supposed to keep Little Rhett in your pants. And that one girl was ready to pack him up and take him home.”
Summer is a quick learner when it comes to the support Rhett needs. From feeling like he’s fit in and no one notices him. Summer adds to his life what he’s been longing for.
“Careful. Your dad told me to keep my hands off you.”
“Yeah, well he didn’t tell me to keep my hands off you.”
I enjoyed how both Summer and Rhett grew while being around each other daily. Summer was sick when she was younger and then her infatuation with someone. Resulting in her feelings being taken advantage of.
“Saw you on TV, my ass.”
From Harvey and his boys. I really loved the home atmosphere. Nip with his banter as well had me laughing a lot. Both Harvey and Nip were the perfect characters with the best advice to give.
“Now, tell me honestly, Summer. If this were your last moment on earth, what would you want me to do?”
“Ruin me.”
“Good. I’m about fucking done being a gentleman with you. And the only thing I’m ruining you for is anyone else.”
The spice was perfect! Sign me up, I think I want a cowboy for myself🤠!
Thank you, NetGalley, Elsie Silver, and Bloom Books for this ARC. As always, my review is my opinion and thoughts. This review will be shared on my bookstagram @Alexandriavwilliams_ shortly.

WHAT A FUCKING START TO THIS SERIES!!! Consider me a riding bunny because baby I am so obsessed with these men now 🥵🥵
The fact everyone tells me the series just gets better and better… how will I handle this if I was clutching my pearls and spitting out my water with just book one?! Rhett Eaton has my heart and anything else he wants to take.
Yeah he messed up a bit towards the end but because he was defending her to that piece of shit she used to date which that entire situation had me on the verge of puking… it was so gross. I’m glad she ended up with someone who truly sees, values and loves her.
This man was a grump to everyone else but he has a golden retriever, Dom soul in him 🥹 so it’s not 100% true grumpy sunshine but the vibes are definitely there. I felt
The chemistry since the start and don’t even get me started on the tension… when she was at the bar wearing someone else’s hat and about to let that man do a shot off her boobs…. I will never forget how the image of Rhett crossing the bar all primal and pissed off formed in my head, clear as if I had been there to witness it.
She is a badass when it comes to him. I loved the character development from her submitting to everyone around her to then standing her ground and defending herself. Her comebacks were fucking fire 😂😂😂
I am sooooo excited to read the rest. Here I go again forgetting all my TBR because I’m obsessing over a new series 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
I didn't know I needed cowboy romance in my life and now I think I am forever in my cowboy romance era with Elsie Silver as the queen.
A playboy bull rider and his agent-assigned babysitter he falls so hard for is perfection. Summer is sweet, kind, and strong as hell and Rhett sees her for who she really is and is wrapped around her finger—their spark and chemistry and fire together radiate off the page. The spice had me blushing while reading.
Thank you Elsie, Sourcebooks, and NetGalley for this amazing ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I devoured this it was so incredible. I didn't know I needed a cowboy romance in my life, but I NEEDED a cowboy romance in my life. It was so fun exploring the world of bull riding and grumpy cowboy brothers. I also LOVED all the side characters like Willa, Theo, and the whole Eaton family. This book also had so much heart, especially towards the end. Summer has a complicated and messy family past, and Rhett has his own issues surrounding his identity with bull riding. I loved how full the whole world of this book felt since we get to experience so much of Rhett and Summer's love story but also both of their individual stories, families, and friends. Needless to say I finished this and jumped into the next three reads and let me tell you, you wont be disappointed!
4.5 stars [loved it] This book was so so good, totally binged worthy. I couldn’t get enough of the characters. The steam was on point and the storyline was very different from anything I’ve ever read. I’m starting to think cowboys are my thing now. Yeehaw 🤠😂 Needless to say I will be continuing this series and recommend you pick it up too!
Thank you to the publisher and @netgalley for providing a free advanced copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.
And just like that I like that I am in my cowboy romance era.
Rhett, a bull rider who hates milk and has a bad boy image in need of some positive PR when he starts losing sponsors. Summer, his agents daughter assigned to babysit him, polish his image and keep him out of trouble for a couple months. Two broken people who see each other differently and complete each other.
There are 4 more books after this? I’m just going to start neglecting my adultish duties now until I finish.
Many thanks to Netgalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to read an Ebook arc.
Forever in my cowboy romance era and Elsie Silver is my queen! She is such a powerhouse in this specific genre and has never written a book I don't fall absolutely head over heels in love with. Flawless is no exception. A playboy bull rider and his agent assigned babysitter? Him falling SO HARD for her. Its literal perfection. Summer is so sweet and kind and strong as hell and fierce and Rhett sees her for who she really is right away and is wrapped around her finger (AS HE SHOULD BE). Their spark and chemistry and fire together RADIATE off the page. The spice had me BLUSHINGGGGGG (whipped cream? assless chaps? didn't think I'd be into any of this but here we are and I'm not mad). Forever in my cowboy romance era and forever in my Summer and Rhett era

I know I am SO late to the game reading this one, but I FINALLY started the Chestnut Springs series! I saw this was available as an ARC from NetGalley with the rerelease through traditional publishing, so I had to finally jump on reading this one. I am so glad I did and I totally get all the cowboy hype now!
Rhett is a famous bull rider nearing the end of his career and Summer is the daughter of his agent, who has recently started working for her father and gets assigned to babysit Rhett after a milk incident gets him into some hot water. This then sets up a great forbidden romance, opposites attract, forced proximity romance that had me laughing, was full of tender moments, and had a heavy dash of spice!
I found both MCs to be engaging and really appreciated both of their back stories. Summer is young, but has been through so much in her life and showed a lot of strength while finding her place in this world. Rhett is the youngest boy in the family and also doing a bit of soul searching throughout the book. I love how they grew together and made each other better people.
I can totally understand the love these books have, and recognized quite a few names as the MCs of future books. I can’t wait to read those ones and get into the other’s stories as well!
If you’re looking for a quick read with heart, humor, and spicy cowboys, I suggest checking out the Chestnut Springs series!
I received a copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Will be posted to Instagram link on 10/24/23.
This Bookstagram darling was a pleasant read. I love a good small town romance, and <i>Flawless</i> was so much fun because it had ALLLLL the Yellowstone vibes (I LOVE THE SHOW). This was my very first <b>Elsie Silver</b> book & it won't be my last (literally because I started <i>Heartless </i> immediately).
Rhett and Summer's story was fun and fluffy. The type of romance I needed in my life after reading a bunch of emotionally damaging books. The text messages preceding the chapters were some of my favorite parts. The conversations between Summer and her dad Kip had me cackling. I LOVED the dynamic of Rhett's family with his brothers. It was nice getting a glimpse of future characters for future books.
<b>Read if you like </b>
- small town vibes
- a dirty talkin' bullrider
- witty banter
- close knit families
- forced proximity
<b>FINAL THOUGHTS: </b> Flawless is a solidly good book. I think it hit all the marks for a small town, fluffy romance. Rhett Eaton is a hot bull rider. Summer is a lovable FMC. Their relationship had a nice mix of comedy and emotion. The spice blended in perfectly with the story. I truly loved the side characters and the interactions between them all. It definitely makes you want to pick up BOOK 2: <i>Heartless. </i>
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
If you aren’t a reading the Chestnut Springs series, you need to. Now! Go!
I need to start this review by saying that I am not a huge fan of cowboys or small town romance. Or at least I thought I wasn’t, until I read this book! Well yee-haw! Give me a pair of cowboy boots now!
Rhett Eaton is a professional bull rider. Americas golden boy. Until a bar brawl happens and he needs to clean up his image. Summer, his agents daughter, is set to “babysit him”. She sees right through him in a way no one else can. She’s tough, and sweet at the same time. The chemistry between these two is 🔥🔥🔥.
This was such a fun and fast read for me. Totally blew me away and changed my thoughts on what I like to read. The spice was great. The banter was witty. This was well written and I ran to read the rest of this series as soon as I finished this! I promise this book will have you hooked!
📘: Flawless by Elsie Silver

Thank you to NetGalley, Elsie Silver, and Sourcebooks Bloom Books for this ARC!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
*Reviewed on NetGalley and Goodreads.
I’m obsessed with this series (and everything Elsie Silver writes), but I jumped on the bandwagon halfway through the series and never made it back to the beginning.
But now I HAVE!!! And I love the series even more.
Flawless was a phenomenal first book in the series. I loved how Rhett and Summer influenced each other and helped one another find ways to enjoy life again. My heart broke for everything Summer had been through growing up and how lonely she was in her life – and then we have the opposite with Rhett and his fantastic upbringing and loving family and yet he still felt alone in life… but together? Together they were everything.
If you STILL haven’t picked up the Chestnut Springs series, what are you even waiting for at this point???
Tropes:
- Cowboy romance / bull riding
- Small town romance
- Steamy romance
- Found family
- Enemies to lovers
- Workplace romance
- Forced proximity
- Only one bed
- Forbidden romance
- He falls first
I was so excited to have been given this book to read, and I didn’t disappoint! It was the first for me with this author. I absolutely adored this one and the characters! I’ve been a cowboy romance fan for a while so this was great! It was the perfect amounts of steam and story! I’m looking forward to reading the others in this series!! Highly recommend!
Wow! I’m not sure why I waited so long to read this one. Actually, I do. I wasn’t too keen on the idea of a cowboy romance. But dang, I absolutely loved Rhett and Summer’s story! I need more cowboys in my life.
This book was so much fun to read. I loved the little dive into the world of bull riding and ranchers. Rhett and Summer’s chemistry and connection was so sweet (and veryyyyy spicy!). I loved all of the character building with the back stories and life events shared. Being able to feel connected to the characters is not always easy but this one was done so well!
It was all so good. I can not wait to read the rest of the series, and I regret putting it off this long.
Thanks NetGalley!
please note that the trigger warnings and topes/themes may contain spoilers
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
HEA: yes
spice: several open door scenes
TWs: cheating (not MCs), toxic family dynamics, heart attack (nonfatal), grooming relationship (not MCs), manipulation, heart surgery, loss of parent (past), bull riding which could be viewed as animal abuse as they use spurs, stalking, parental abandonment, death of a parent ((view spoiler) recounted)
standalone: book 1 in the Chestnut Springs Series
final thoughts: OMG SO CUTE!! I loved seeing the relationship evolve! The hurt/comfort scenes were so sweet and I was so pumped when we got to get both POVs! She’s nervous about her feelings for him and he’s just a mess for her and EEE it was adorable.
The only thing keeping this book for being a 5⭐ read for me was the stepfamily storyline and interaction… it didn’t feel necessary and didn’t really go anywhere but maybe we’ll see more of that in the rest of the series?
read this book if you love
🏝️ forced proximity (one bed, one horse, same living arrangements)
🏡 small town
💓 slowburn
🧑🤝🧑 great side characters
🏉 sports romance (bull riding)
💼 workplace romance
😳 forbidden lovers (agent/athlete) (agent’s daughter)
💞 childhood crush
living arrangements)
👮 blue collar MMC (cowboy)
🔢 age gap (25/32)
🔀 opposites attract
🧠 “it’s always been you”
This book is as white as sliced bread.
This book to me felt so fucking white. The term "Buckle Bunnies" is so fucking gross. Not so hidden purity culture.
To me when when age gap romances with dual POVS and the MMC call the FMC as "princess" "honey" "angel" it goes into purity culture cause she's a saint and a virgin and he's the bad man who's gonna make her dirty.
Can I say this following quote gets even worse when you realized this Rob character was HER DOCTOR!
<i>"My ex, Rob, put my heart back together and then tore it to shreds. I wish I could say I hate him. I should hate him. But it’s hard to extricate myself from him. There’s something intensely personal about letting someone inside your body that way.
But right now, my heart feels just fine. Aside from the fact that it’s pounding as I look out into the dirt ring."</i>
Thank you NetGalley for the e-arc version of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
