II have found reading this series to be like eating comfort food, thoroughly addictive and in this case good for you. The era and the aura around the main characters take you off on a journey by themselves never mind a storyline involving murder, theft, bicycles and treasure. Really enjoyed - again.

Another fabulous story in the Lady Hardcastle series. These are such fabulous stories. Flo and Emily are wonderful characters and their dialogue is always top notch. The mystery here is as fun as always, but it is the Flo and Emily relationship that keeps me coming back.

A Fire at the Exhibition is another great book in the Lady Hardcastle and Flo series. When a local society decides to host an exhibition of local art -either by local artists, or locally held works- one particularly impressive work of enormous worth is slated to be shown. On the opening day, a yell of "FIRE" along with smoke and panic causes the patrons to flee the exhibit. In the wild exodus, three works of art vanish. The most expensive, The Westbury Shakespeare, appears to be the target with the other two simply taken as they were convenient. However, one of the other stolen works belongs to Sir Hector Farley-Stroud from The Grange.
Lady Hardcastle and Florence are quietly made aware that this painting is one of a pair and losing it may also result in the loss of The Grange. Of course they agree to search for the missing painting.

Meanwhile, another inaugural event, a bike ride/race is also slated for the village. When one of the pempetitors turns up dead, a block from the planned route, more questions assail our heroines. Does it all tie together or is it just a wild coincidence?
Will our ladies be up to the challenge or will this be their final case?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, thanks to Netgalle, T.E.Kinsey and Amazon Publishing UK.
I look forward to more stories by this author.

A delightful addition to this excellent series. Lady Hard castle and friend and maid Flo are again called in to help friends in financial trouble, solve a murder and find a missing book. All in the line of fun and excitement!

Cute addition to the Lady Emily/Flo Armstrong mystery series revolving around art theft and the murder of a cyclist. The mystery itself was not very complex, but the author did a good job bringing seemingly unconnected plot lines together at the end. Thanks to #Netgalley for the ARC.
