Another great novel from Debra Webb. It was nice to see things in Finley's life gwt wrapped up in this novel. I'm not sure if there will be another Finley O'Sullivan novel or not but I feel even if there isn't this one set the end up nicely and doesn't leave any loose ends out there. I'll definitely be reading more of her novels.
All The Little Truths was a fun read! It felt like I was reading an in-depth law and order episode unfold before my eyes.
I have never read any of the Finley O’Sullivan books but it didn't matter, this read as if it was a standalone. Every backstory was explained so I never felt like I was missing any context, which was nice.
I will say that I found many of the twists and the ending to be fairly predictable, but it was still an enjoyable read!
Thank you NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for a copy of this eARC!
A very easy to read and highly entertaining book with excellent characters. However, the plot is a little too strange, and I don't like the jumping back in time in a few chapters.
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Finley is trying to get her life back in order when she is tasked with a cold case. This book grabbed my attention from the start.
This was a fabulous mystery with a great plot twist! I loved all of the characters. This book has the perfect blend of what happened in the past and the present day. It kept me turning the pages wondering what "little truth" was going to be upended as all the facts were eventually revealed. All of the characters were realistic and the relationship between them were excellently portrayed. This was one of the best murder mysteries I've read in a long time and I attribute that to great writing, a twisty plot that kept revealing bits of new information, and interesting characters that stayed true to themselves and interacted in realistic way.
This is book 3 in the Finley O’ Sullivan series and I am hoping it’s not the last. I have become a big fan of Debra Webb’s books and this book is a perfect example of why. She writes a very powerful strong-female main character and the one mostly investigating a crime. The characters are well detailed as are their actions. The areas where events are happening almost come to life with her descriptions. There so many twists it’s almost impossible to figure out the murderer, and a most unexpected turn I don’t think anyone would see coming. If you like murder, suspense and crime fiction, you will likely enjoy this book. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.
Part of what interests me about crime and murder mysteries is my obsession with figuring out who the criminal, killer, or perpetrator is. It challenges me and this latest in the series had me holding my breath. As I put a few of the small puzzle pieces together, tracked each clue, the overall picture remained a blur. The plot remained a mystery until the astonishing finish.
Finley is a lawyer but she’s working as an investigator with Jack Finnegan, a well known criminal defense attorney, also her godfather. Their office is located in Nashville. Jack struggled with alcohol in the past and has many acquaintances of notoriety. One of those has come calling in a favor. The Johnson family was long accused of involvement in criminal activities, father was presumed to be a mob boss, two sons would follow in the business. The eldest, Ray, is a person of interest in an unsolved murder years ago. New evidence in young Lucy’s case has surfaced. But the truth is, suspects for the murder are abundant – classmates, friends and staff from the school, a rumored older boyfriend, an ex-boyfriend (also current detective on the case).
Finley is at a new stage of grief from a horrific attack, has a new love interest, is mending fences with her mother “the Judge “, might still have a tail watching her every move and is considering a run for the County DA position. Her father isn’t being truthful and neither are many of those involved in Lucy’s life. Then she finds her elderly neighbor lying in the backyard. The twists just keep coming!
There are great descriptive and interesting characters in this the third in the series and it can be read on it’s own. The first ones are really worth reading and give background on the repeat characters. I was dumbfounded as the pieces came together. Never would have guessed the ending! This author has long been a favorite and this was an entertaining read.
Thanks to NetGalley, Debra Webb and Thomas & Mercer for providing the digital advance reader copy of “All The Little Truths”, Finley O’Sullivan #3. These are all my own honest personal thoughts and opinions given voluntarily without compensation.
Thank you Thomas & Mercer, Netgalley, and Debra Webb for the opportunity to review an ARC of All The Little Truths.
Synopsis: Finley O’Sullivan is still recovering from the terrible attack that left her husband dead and her brutalized. Having lost her job as an assistant to the District Attorney’s office, she now works for her godfather- Jack Finnegan. The only problem is that Jack represents bad people, and those people don’t always appreciate Finley’s ability to uncover the truth. When new evidence is found connecting a local crime family to a 13-year-old murder case, Finley decides to dig deeper. But the deeper she digs, the more the little truths seem to add up to something unbelievable.
Review: I would rate All The Little Truths by Debra Webb 5 out of 5 stars. It isn’t the first book in the series, but it was written so that I was able to enjoy it even as a standalone. Finley was a very well-written main character, and I found myself constantly rooting for her to be able to stay safe during her investigation. There were so many twists that were somehow entirely out of the blue while also fitting perfectly within the narrative. This is one of the best murder mystery/thriller books I have read in a very long time, and it made me want to read more of Webb’s works as well.
If you are interested in murder mystery books with multiple potential suspects and some completely shocking plot twists, then this is the book for you! All The Little Truths will release on November 7, 2023.
What a great third installment to the Finley series by Debra Webb! I enjoyed following along as Webb continued the story of Finley and her family. I was able to guess the “who done it” pretty early on, but I still enjoyed the read! I highly recommend reading this book (as long as you’ve read the first two books in the series)!
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC!
All the Little Truths is another solid mystery by Debra Webb starring Finley as the heroine. There are both predictable and unexpected turns as the multi decade mystery plays forward. An engaging read!
Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the opportunity to read this ARC.
This book was edge of your seat in some sections, and in others it seemed you knew what was coming next. Several of the big twists - including the mom of the deceased’s identity were obvious. Other twists not so much!
I didn’t understand why the inclusion of the storyline with the “stalker” - it didn’t really add anything for me to the story. Similarly, the groundskeepers storyline was fine, but it seemed he was then left out at the end.
The main characters were likeable though, and not having read the others in this series I think they would carry over well from book to book
Sensational!
I love this series! This is the 3rd installment and I could NOT put it down. The main character is so strong and she doesn't sugarcoat anything. I would meet her in real life if I could. I am sad Finley and her story are ending but I'm so thankful that I went along for the ride!
Thank you Debra Webb for an amazing series 🤩.
This book was a good mystery and kept me guessing until the very end. The plot twisted many times and Debra Webb did a good job keeping all the players in line.
The main character Findlay O’Sullivan had to piece together bits and pieces of the murder case to come to a conclusion that was plausible to the police. The story concealed hidden truths and deep family ties are tested to limit.
Interesting characters and several twists along the way. A very good read!
Thank you to Debra Webb, NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the arc of this book
I tend to enjoy books where they’re taking a new look at cold cases, so this was an instant draw for me. This isn’t the first book in the series, but is my first book read from it. I had no trouble following the story. The author masterfully connected the dots from previous books, providing enough context without rehashing the entire back story - there was a few instances of repetition, which could have been toned down and had I read from book one it may have been even worse.
I did guess part of the “whodunit” fairly early on, but other parts I did not and overall I was satisfied with the final twist and ending.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ability to read this in advance.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC My first by this author. I feel like I may have enjoyed it more if I had started with book one in this sequence giving me a better backstory on the main character. This can be a stand alone and it was still a good read.
Oh my gosh this book was definitely interesting, and perfectly twisty. It had a twist I definitely didn’t see coming.
This is a very good book!! Full of suspense and twists and turns. It does do well as a stand alone, I have not read the first one, but details were always good enough that I never felt confused. Thank you to Netgalley.com and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC.
This is the series that introduced me to Debra Webb, who is one heck of a writer! I love the Finely series and Finley's character and intelligence. I don't want to give anything in the plot away, but you will not be disappointed. I look forward to reading much more of Debra Webb. A huge thank you to Thomas & Mercer and to NetGalley for this ARC. This book kept me up way past bedtime!
I was interested in the mystery of this thirteen year cold case right from the start, and once the story really got going I found it hard to put down.
It was pretty easy to assume part of the “whodunit” early on, but the author had me guessing at the rest of the mystery throughout. I was satisfied with the final twist and happy with how it all shook out.
Being the third book in this series and the only one I had read so far, I didn’t feel lost, confused, or disconnected from any of the characters. The author connected enough dots from the previous books to make events in this one clear without retelling the entire story. I did feel like some things were repeated a bit too much, however.
Ultimately what made this four stars instead of five is I felt there was a lot of telling versus showing for the first half of the book. I also found all the connections between characters pretty unbelievable, although I enjoyed the connections.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the early copy of Debra Webb’s All the Little Truths.
