Finley is back and better than ever! The book starts with the murder of a teenage girl that occurred thirteen years ago. When new evidence is found Finley finds herself working for the number one suspect. Somehow Debra Webb always creates an intricate mystery that folds in all of the characters. In this case, Finley realizes that her beloved father knows more than he claims about the murder. What is her dad hiding and will she still respect him when it's all said and done? The usual cast of supporting characters are back and we continue to get to know each of them better. I love Finley's neighbor and her no nonsense attitude! Another great aspect of the story, is that with each installment the reader can feel Finley's progress in moving forward after her husband's brutal death. This is a definite read if you enjoyed the first two books!
Exciting and so great a read. I love Finley and she always gets to the truth and her man. Finley will search, no matter what the outcome for truth. Her whole agenda is to get to the truth. This book tells of her search for truth on a man who could be a drug dealer, human trafficker and murderer. All the while Finley researches she must watch her back and make sure the ones she loves stay safe too.
Debra Webb is such an amazingly talented writer who keeps you guessing, her characters are either lovable or or someone you want Finley to bring down. The story will keep your interest, it will touch your heart, and leave you anticipating the next one. If you haven't read the previous books do so you will enjoy them too.
Thank you NetGalley, Thomas & Mercer, and Debra Webb for this eARC I truly enjoyed this book!
This is a decent ending to the series although I guessed the “twist” less than halfway through. I thought the final scenes wrapped up nicely with the potential for other cases that would maybe be far less personal and move along into the future. I do love the extended cast of characters so would definitely pick up another if the series continues!
I received a copy from Netgalley and the publisher to review.
The Finley O'Sullivan story continues. As a legal investigator in her uncle's P.I. firm, Finley is drawn into the murder of Lucy Caigle, a young teen student, still unsolved, many years later. Her uncle is hired by the one of her town's reputed gangsters to clear his son's name in the disappearance.
But things are seldom what they seem and Finley becomes entrenched in long ago secrets that are suddenly surfacing that involve both her father and the firm's client and all TBE main characters from Lucy's young and tragically interrupted life.
Not large on suspense but with some extremely interesting and quirky, well defined characters who bring a touch of intrigue to the story.
Revisiting characters from the past is always a welcome addition to stories and this is no exception.
Will certainly be on the lookout for the next chapter in Finley's story.
Thank you NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the eARC.
This last in the Finley O'Sullivan series was a bit disappointing to me, contrary to most of the stellar reviews. The constant way we were told about Matt being perfect was OTT as was the history of her husband's death, etc.
The cold case was interesting and the ending quite a surprise.
The talk about her political future was confusing, I don't really know much about the American process as I'm not originally from here. But the one thing that niggled at me was the fact poor Spot, the little dog, seemed to be left alone for long periods, I felt sorry for her.
Another great Finley O’Sullivan book. Jack and Finley get a case to help a former acquaintance’s son. This leads to Finley trying to solve a 13 year old murder. Lots of suspense, danger and a bit of romance. Also a twist that surprised me. Highly recommend.
Thanks @netgalley for read number 81 of 2023. I read and enjoyed the other books in this series, and I was excited to read this one. It was very action-packed and hard to put down. I like how the different plot lines came together in the end. I’m not sure how I feel about the end though. I know this is a fictional book, and it doesn’t need to reflect reality, but something about the conclusion just seemed too surreal to me. A ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 read in my books. #avivaandfriendsrecos
All the Little Truths was a strange read for me. This is the last book in a series I haven't read but I felt more or less up to date on everything that happened in the prior books because of how often this one tended to rehash them to remind the reader what had happened to them. As someone who hadn't read the other books, I found this helpful but strange choice (even in mystery fiction that most times has a jump in anywhere kind of style). If I had read all the books I likely would've been irritated by this.
I felt like I was being told a lot more than I was shown. About people's reputations and character in particular.
However once the story reached it's stride it was good, there were twists I didn't see coming. Sometimes I thought I knew what was going on but then the result was a pivot from what I'd been led to believe. It was satisfying to watch subplots weave their way into the main story, and contribute to the big revels.
Unfortunately, what killed it for me was the ending, after the conclusion of the mystery. There was a couple of wrap up chapters that seemed like they were tying up a laundry list of loose ends and what ultimately ended up being an almost *too* neat Hallmark style ending.
I do not typically like the series and try to avoid books from them because nowadays it is very hard to find a book from the series that is readable as stand alone. But this one is a good exception and can be read on its own.
I love love cold cases. All the Little Truths provides enough details about the past that I can follow what is happening now and makes me feel invested. Kudos to the author. The book is well written and keeps you going while the heroine is untangling the truth. Is it an amazing book? No, as you see the things that bothered me listed below. But it is a well written murder/ mystery and it was worth my time. Many thanks!
The things that slightly bothered me were the following:
- Finley cannot stand Ray but throughout the book as a reader I never feel the same. I should feel what she feels.
- Finley is likeable enough but sometimes came across as unlikeable to me. I did not develop any strong feelings towards any characters which is pity.
- Finley's current relationship seems unrealistic and reading about them was like eating an overly sweet dessert. It was not clear how long they were together but perhaps a recent relationship still in the honeymoon phase.
- As a non American reader, I could not follow and did not care about the whole DA process - that could have been skipped.
- I also found some descriptions dull, a bit too lengthy and not holding my attention. Once I found out what happened, I lost the attention in the last chapter completely. I wonder why. Most mystery books grab and keep you to the last word.
- The truth of what happened is also a bit strange, and most importantly, if you are with the killer when the murder takes place and you do not stop them, you are an accessory to the murder. I had to go back and reread it. How can this person go free?
- Another twist was unnecessary and made me like or relate to Finley even less.
Thanks to Netgalley for a free copy in exchange of an honest review.
Enjoyed reading this one, the plot was really well written.
Finn and Jack have a new client, why do these seemingly bad seeds choose Finn? They know she will stop at nothing to get to the truth.
I loved seeing Finn and Mark a little more. We got a little more personal in this one.
Many thanks to Netgalley for the chance to read and review this one.
This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher and the talented author. I really like this author. The stories move quickly with a plethora of surprises. Red herrings kept me guessing. Mystery at its best. This is a great book.
Another amazing Debra webb book. This book is part of a series. I have to say this is the best book in the series in my opinion. Definitely a 5 star must read
Another great book by Debra Webb! I enjoyed the Finley O'Sullivan series and All The Little Truths was no exception. With the twists, turns, and character development, I had a hard time putting this one down!
Thank you #netgalley and #thomasandmercer for the ARC.
I’ve enjoyed reading the Finley O’Sullivan series and All the Little Truths by Debra Webb was another great installment to this series.
A riveting thriller with lots of action and a great storyline. The plot was extremely well woven and the characters are extremely well rounded.
This book is a page-turning, can't put down, and keeps you guessing thriller.
I can’t wait to see what Legal investigator Finley O’Sullivan tackles next!
"I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."
Thank You NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
Things I liked about this book, it kept me guessing and there were multiple things I didn't see coming and it was nice and long! The ending, the last few chapters however felt like they were kind of rush out together in hopes of tying everything up with a neat bow.
Big thanks to both Thomas & Mercer and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of All the Little Truths, by Debra Webb.
All the Little Truths is another heart-pounding, suspenseful book, featuring investigator Finley O'Sullivan. This time around, she's taking on a cold case that could uncover new dangers. As Finley races to solve a decade-old murder, she uncovers new clues and long-buried secrets. But whoever killed the girl all those years ago may still be a threat. Now the chase is on ... and it might blow more than the case wide open!!
Here we go with another case filled with tension and endless danger! I love Fin - and Matt, of course!!! What a great series. I have a feeling we may see more of Finley, et al - at least I hope so.
What can I say? I love this authors writing and the stories/worlds she creates. This book was such a great full circle moment. When we first meet Finley O’Sullivan in book one of this series she has had her world totally torn apart and is clawing just to stay alive and keep from giving into the darkness that has swallowed her, her only goal in living, revenge. Now in this book we find a much stronger Finley who is ready to once again begin to live again and take her life back. Finley must dig through the past to find the truth and in doing so bring up ghosts she just might not be willing to face.
This really is a great read and I enjoyed every minute of it! Great job Ms. Webb!
Debra Webb returns with a bang with the third installment of the Finley O’Sullivan series. Webb is quickly becoming one of my favorite go-to authors. Finley is back helping her “Uncle” Jack represent a former acquaintance’s son. The son, Ray Johnson, Jr., is a sleazy man, with dirty hands and she is not happy to be helping with the case.
This story was everything you want a good mystery to be: full of action, missing people, bad guys, even family can’t be trusted! I heard this is the last installment and it seems so because things felt very wrapped up at the end. I truly hope not because Finley’s character has so much more room to grow, and she has a lot more crimes to solve.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I gave it four stars and highly recommend it.
Spoken by Finley’s number on fan (not), she truly has nine lives.
All The Little Truths is book three to the Finley O’Sullivan series by Debra Webb. As I picked this one up I realized I didn’t remember specifics about books one or two. While every books focuses on a new crime that Finley and her truest partner, Jack, intend to solve, the plot line that carried throughout all of the books in this series is about Finley and the murder of her husband. It is an overwhelming amount of characters and plots throughout all three books, which some have rated low for, but for me, this series just clicked.
I think if you binged the series it would be much easier to follow. Or, if you read others in between each installment, made notes in your phone to reference when you start the second book, and then the third. It would make it much easier to follow in my opinion.
Ray Johnson seeks Finley and Jack to represent him and his “old man”, Ray Sr. after a cold case resurfaces with new evidence ~discovered~ in the Johnson’s warehouse. The Johnson family is clearly very dirty and gets away with everything with so many resources and power (money).
From the get go, I really enjoyed that this book got to the meat of the story from page one. I mean you read the murder happening and you know very small but very important pieces of evidence form chapter one that you hold onto to build with Finley.
I read this is less than 24 hours because I could truly not put it down! I was overall really pleased with the plot twist in All The Little Truths, I truly didn’t expect it. The end made me hopefully for how really happy and solid Finley’s future was. If you read from book one you’ll know how Finley truly went through it all. I think this is the last book? But maybe we’ll be pleasantly surprised with an additional book with Finley as the new DA? I can only hope so!
Thanks to NetGalley, Debra Webb and Thomas & Mercer publishing for this eARC! Publishing November 21, 2023!
An engrossing, fast-paced thriller including the inner workings of a police procedural as well as several twists, turns, lies, and subterfuge. Finley is an interesting and complex character would really enjoy reading more of her cases. Thank you to the author, publisher, Thomas & Mercer, and Netgalley for the opportunity to preview the book.
