Connie is engaged for the first time at 70 and about to become a grandma, but a random article in a magazine has her taking a road trip to reconnect with her past. First book I’ve read by Kate Galley, and it was a very good read. A bit different from my normal romcoms. Probably considered to be more of a women’s fiction/romance.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Watch for The Golden Girls’ Road Trip to come out August 31, 2023.

Two people who used to be very close to each other in their youth try to find each other again after 52 years.
The trip they take together is not only a real road trip, but az emotional inner journey as well with past secrets revisited.
I like reading about more mature people and the two main protagonists in this novel were very interesting characters.
I enjoyed the book and recommend to everyone who likes books about friends, family and secrets.

Never read any Kate Galley books before and this was a fantastic introduction to her! The plot was original and realistic, it was a real breath of fresh air. I was routing for Connie from the first page and loved seeing her character develop. Looking forward to reading more Kate Galley books in the future. Thank you netgalley for the ARC ❤️

I enjoyed this new to me author very much! I'll be looking for the 1st book too
What an adventure! I just loved Constance. But I sure didn't like her daughter in law very much! She reminded me to much of my mother in law!
I think a whole day passed before I realized it!
This story will definitely keep you turning the pages!
These ladies were wonderful and I loved in getting to know them. I felt like I was right there with them the whole way.
In a way, this reminded me of the trip my family took in 2005. Such am exciting time! A trip I'll never forget.
When reading this book it helped me to remember what a fantastic time we had.
You'll laugh, cry and yes sometimes scream at them for the silly stuff they did. And sometimes even shake your head. I know I did!
This is a read I won't soon forget because it was such fun and so different than what I expected but enjoyed!
The cover is so cute! In all honesty, it's what made me want to read it. I wasn't disappointed at all!
I adore a good book and this one met all my expectations!
5 stars for a well written novel! I highly recommend!
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

The Golden Girls' Road Trip is 2 - 70 year olds meeting after 50+ years and going on a trip, something they'd planned to do decades before life happened.

The trip, their relationship and how they interact with each other through the story is very appealing in a non dramatic, no fuss straightforward way. I enjoyed the whole trip and was happy for the gals.

What a pleasant surprise! Having not read Kate Galley's first book, The Second Chance Holiday Club, this book was a perfect introduction to a new author for me. BTW, I've already requested my library add her first book and will do so with this one as well when the time comes!

I loved everything about this book. There are truly enjoyable characters (including an adorable dog), wonderful descriptions of the places they travel - the travel was what grabbed my interest, complicated but realistic relationships and character growth that also felt realistic. Connie has a complicated past and at 70 is on the verge of marrying for the first time, but is this the right decision for her life? Also, she's a crocheter which was a happy surprise. Alex is portrayed as a flawed human, but not the commonly seen eccentric artist. No magic wands here. Life is hard. Relationships are hard. Everything isn't solved in an instant. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters and was sad to see the end nearing as I read. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

Thanks to Aria & Aries and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a truly lovely book, I think I read it within 24 hours... I'm not exactly sure, but it can't have been more than a day and a half.

I enjoyed the lovely detail about the knitting, being a knitter myself. And also being a fine artist, I'm glad in this case a painter wasn't depicted being quirky, overly eccentric, whimsical as in untrustworthy or unreliable, otherworldly... well, you get the picture :)

Having my own currently personal dealings with difficult people who in this case are definitely not remorseful, this book was a breath of fresh air. Funny (what would you use as an emergency bookmark – as in the first chapter), heartfelt, witty, and warm.

The Golden Girls' Road Trip well deserves to be on my for-a-rainy-day bookshelf on Goodreads.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.
