This is definitely a book you read with the light on. It's filled with trepidation and unease. I couldn't put it down. I would recommend this book to other horror lovers.

Jigglyspot is why people are scared of clowns. Pennywise has nothing on him!!! A must read for horror fans everywhere. Even for those scared of clowns.

1 Star

When I saw Jigglyspot and the Zero Intellect by P.D. Alleva, I was excited to see what the novel had in store. Depraved clowns, cannibals, and demons seemed like the perfect cast for a violently fun story. This book seemed right up my alley and I was eager to jump in and see what sort of depraved story lie within.

Jigglyspot was a half human, half warlock carnival clown who reveled in the chaos and carnage he created in the employ of demonic entities. He lived for the kill, and death rejuvenated him and charged him until he could get his next victim. He toured the country leaving a string of bodies behind. As a reward for his work, he was selected to be the event coordinator for the 2019 Summer Solstice Celebration at the Cannibal Cafe. As the celebration approached, however, Jigglyspot found himself falling behind schedule. He tried to balance his duties to the demons with the demands of his girlfriend. Complicating things even further was the fact that the feds were starting to connect him with the murders he left behind. His task seemed insurmountable, but Jigglyspot know he was the only clown for the job. Now he just needed to prove his worth to his masters before the world came crashing down around him.

I had high hopes going into Jigglyspot and the Zero Intellect. The story seemed to hold a lot of promise and sounded like a story suited to my taste. It is not often that I am not able to finish reading a book and, unfortunately, this was the case with this novel. I tried reading it several months ago and just could not get into the book. I put it down and let it sit for a while in hopes that I could pick it up again and get into it. I thought that my mind may just not have been in the right place the first time. When I started it a second time, I once again found myself losing the story until I quit on it again about a quarter of the way in. I just could not get into any of the characters, thought the story was uninteresting and wandering aimlessly, and I just really could not care about what was going on. While this book has several high ratings on Goodreads and other places, it obviously just did not work for me at all. Jigglyspot and the Zero Intellect is sure to work better for some readers than it did for me, but I found it to just be a complete fail. I hate not finishing a book, but I just could not get into this one at all. Other readers have found it interesting, and it may work better for you, but it just did not work for me at all and gets a rare one star review from me.

I would like to thank Chamber Door Publishing and NetGalley for this review copy. Jigglyspot and the Zero Intellect is available now.

Jigglyspot and the Zero Intellect - by P.D. Alleva

This one is gonna take a bit for me to truly absorb wtf I just read. I mean that in a good way. What a wild ride of a book! Jigglyspot is half-human/half-warlock with a penchant for dressing as a clown. (Clowns terrify me to begin with, mmkay?). He’s tasked with procuring souls for demons during the upcoming summer solstice celebration. He’s violent, he’s crude, he’s vicious, he’s a freaking CLOWN(!!), but he seems so certain he’s doing these horrible things for the right reasons.
There are several characters and POVs in this book but it’s not at all disjointed. Their stories all blend and weave together perfectly. I didn’t get confused or have to back-read to double check on who’s who or doing what and why.
It all just flowed. It’s a long(ish) book at just over 600 pages, but the chapters are short and it reads fast.
It’s a brutal read…oh is it ever! I’ve been reading horror for over 30yrs, and not much at all gets to me. This one did. Several times, I admit haha! Readers should *DEFINITELY* visit the author’s website for a full trigger warning disclosure as they’re aplenty!
Solid 5 star rating from me! I loved it! Wholeheartedly recommend!

RELEASE OCTOBER 31.

By some Bizzaro synchronicity (totally unintentional!) this is the SECOND Demonic Cannibal Clowns Extreme Horror I have read, in 2 days!! I don't know what the Multiverse is telling me....

Literate Extreme Horror. Hair-raising scenes, lots of blood, death, gore, assaults, torture, taboos. Demons. Clowns. Phobia-producing. Suffused with imagery to the extent I would perceive in Literary fiction, thus: Literate Extreme Horror. I caution readers of a Sensitive Nature or easily offended, PLEASE seek out the Cautionary Warnings listed on the Author's website [also linked at the commencement of this novel].
If, however, one is a devotee of Extreme, or not easily frightened/terrorized/traumatized/offended, please proceed. Enter at your own risk, after all. Demons are never to be trusted.

Jigglyspot and the zero intellect by PD Alleva.
Meet Jigglyspot, a five-foot tall half human half warlock carnival clown who spends his free time moonlighting as a drug dealing pimp and lackey for demonic entities who prey on the weak and vulnerable, casting their dark shadow across humanity through manipulation, and fear.
A brilliant read. The details in this book will stay with me. Very gory indeed. I did like the story and plot. Different. 5*.

This is a silly, gore filled clown horror that is without doubt a fun read but far too long at more than 600 pages.

This is the first book I have read by PD Alleva. This was a long book but the chapters were short so the book didn't feel like it was as long as it was. There are a lot of characters in this book but they are unique. This book is definitely gory so beware if your not into that kind of thing. This was an enjoyable horror book and I would definitely recommend this book. i also look forward to reading more books by PD Alleva.

Jigglyspot and the Zero Intellect is my first book by author P.D. Alleva, but it will most definitely not be my last. I picked up this book based on the cover alone and had no idea what I was in for, but I am damn glad I did. What a wild ride! The writing was everything from suspenseful and mysterious to violent and disgusting. Hello, what more can you ask for? I wouldn’t call this only a horror book, though; it was so much more. Dare we say that it touched on fantasy sci-fi and thriller, too?!

I was sure the book would focus on some crazed clown murdering a bunch of folks, but color me shocked when I discovered there was a huge cast of characters beyond the main character of Jigglyspot. They all served their purpose, had their own storylines, and were intricately woven together. Jigglyspot is a half-human, half-warlock carnival clown raised by alien clowns.

This book is a hefty one, and it took me a while to get through it. The ending was well worth the journey to get there. The writing was excellent and very detailed. The chapters are short, and you fly through them. If you enjoy horror and don’t mind some gore, this book is for you.

Thank you to Chamber Door Publishing, LLC, PD Alleva, and Netgalley for gifting me an eARC of Jigglyspot and the Zero Intellect. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really wanted to love this book, but I only made it to page 580. The book on my phone consists of 810 pages. The book is not bad, I just couldn’t stay focused most of the time. Each chapter goes by one of the characters (6 of them). I love that it was bloody, and gorey. Has a mix of gargoyles, clowns, vampires, zombies, and other randomness. I’m going to have to dnf it for the moment, but I plan on finishing it in due time when I have the extra time.

This immediately piqued my interest, not just because I'm terrified of clowns or an avid consumer of horror. Nope, it was the blurb that got me. Alleva was able to write something that's not only unique but has that semi-campy, 80s horror feel. I've seen many authors jumping on this bandwagon lately, nothing compares to the non cgi gore and boundaries that were pushed in horror during the 80s. The thing is Alleva was able to accomplish this and more by creating a sinister, terrifying, and sometimes very witty read. Some scenes are going to be branded into my brain for life!

Jigglyspot and the Zero Intellect An Addictive Horror Novel by PD Alleva was received directly from the publisher and I chose to review it. What can I say about this long book. I had never read the author, though I will again, Clowns have gotten big in horror recently, though most are not that great. Jigglyspot is not actually a clown, however, his character in this book is awesome. This is not an easy read and I have no idea how the author kept track of all of the characters and situations. If you, or someone you buy gifts for wants a book that is no-holds-barred and rarely slows down, give this book a read. One of my Top 10 Horror novels for the year.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC.

All I can say is WOW!
Multiple POVs, a lot of characters and layers come together to create this horror masterpiece.
The imagery this author has created is simply amazing. The character development is outstanding.
As horrific as it is, it is captivating and you just have to know more. It is definitely not a short read, but you are so intrigued you wont notice the length.

Jigglyspot is a half-human, half warlock clown selected to serve as the event coordinator for the Summer Solstice Celebration. He does not have much time and struggles to get the resources needed such as humans for demonic possession and bodies for slice and dice for dinner. The story contains demons and cannibals and includes the darker side of humanity.

It is a fast paced novel. I don’t know how the author has written this novel. I did enjoyed reading this book though I must admit that this book is not for the faint of heart. It is a dark horror book that contains material such as violent acts and behavior.

Gory perfection! This was sickening to a degree that I was unsettled-all because the characters are so realistically written-you feel like you’re watching it happen. Definitely a must have for extreme horror lovers, especially those who love clowns gone bad!

This would easily be a 4 star book but at around 600 pages it felt like a bit too much at times.
For the most part it was fast paced and action/gore/horror packed. It was a wild ride with lots of stuff going on and multiple perspectives.

It was great for a summer horror read.

600+ pages flies by in this horror novel that is like if IT by Stephen King was told from the perspective of Pennywise!!

This novel is so ambitious, and it also pulled off every single scare jump and otherwise horrifying feature that is promised. One of the first things I learned about this book is that our main character is probably not one that we can trust. That's important. Every single character within this novel has their own motives and driving factors and that is one my favorite things about this book. I didn't know who to trust, I didn't know who was innocent and I didn't know if it mattered. However this book sucked me in and wouldn't let me go. I think it will do the same thing to you. This book feels quickly paced despite being a larger novel. The short chapters from each characters perspective ensure that you feel like the story is flying along even though it's over 600 pages.

This talk about clowns. Clowns are one of favorite scary features and Jigglyspot did not let me down. He is horrifying in a Pennywise-esque way, but because we get his perspective it's even more scary. You know exactly where his morals lie.

Let's talk cosmic horror. This book is ambitious as I mentioned before, but in addition the cosmic levels in most books I read - don't always live up to their promise. THIS BOOK DID!! There is so much to love surrounding cosmic horror that I think readers are going to love it.

All in all, check this book out because it's so good and you're going to love it.

Jigglyspot and the Zero Intellect
An Addictive Horror Novel
by PD Alleva
The book was very long. I finally found no real point of reading on, as it was just noy cup of good. But maybe many will.

This is almost 600 pages of clown gore. Multiple points of view keep the action moving right along and leave you guessing until the end. Not true splatterpunk as there are definitely fantasy elements but enough gore and suspense that a non-fantasy lover like myself thoroughly enjoyed it. Trigger warning child abuse, SA.

This book follows Jigglyspot, the cannibalistic murderous clown, and various other POV’s, in preparation for (and during) the Summer Solstice Celebration at the Cannibal Café.

I can honestly say I’ve never read something like this before. Describing this book as murder and mayhem is vastly underselling it, and the only one safe are animals (how refreshing). This book is sort like if The Terrifier were to host a party for his demon friends.

Sadly, this book wasn’t a good fit for me as I found it to be too long for my liking and way too many things happening at once. I had some trouble telling characters apart and keeping up with the plot. That being said, I hate clowns, terrified of them actually, but my favorite character in this book was without a doubt Jigglyspot himself, so big kudos to the author for not only making me like a clown, but a cannibalistic one at that.

If you like a good outrageous horror movie, this book would be right up your alley. I think especially fans of Grady Hendrix and The Terrifier movies would appreciate this book.

Big thanks to NetGalley, Chamber Door Publishing, and the author P.D. Alleva for allowing me to read this ARC.
