This is a story with several meaningful and thought-provoking sections. I loved the growth of the characters, the bonds they formed and how each character had something vital to bring to the story. Excellent ddescriptions, that allows the reader to immerse themselves with the story. There are several references to Christian beliefs, that I adored, which brought a deeper meaning to the story, for me. Never "preachy" and flows well, just be aware in case religion is some sort of trigger for you.
I loved the story, loved the characters and love this author! Highly recommend!
When fall arrives, I am ready to start reading holiday romance books. Christmas at Spruce Hill Farm was an excellent title to kick off my holiday book reading for 2024.
As someone who deals with autoimmune issues, I could empathize with the character of Brynn who is suffering with no diagnosis in sight. The symptoms she is experiencing have taken their toll on her ability to function at the level she normally would. Her assistant, Lucy, works on the idea it is all stress-related and does her best to remove things that could cause more stress from Brynn's life.
Through a serious dose of winter weather, they find themselves spending an extended period at a Christmas tree farm located in a small town. Heads butt and sparks end up flying between different characters with the backdrop of Christmas fun.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin for the advance reader copy. All opinions are my own.
I really, really enjoyed this book. I liked the slow building relationships and the newfound friendships. I liked the cozy Christmas atmosphere. It all made me think of the tight-knit, small town vibes I get from Virgin River on Netflix. This was the perfect book to sit down and read after decorating my tree.
This is my first bookby this author and I enjoyed it. I love a good Christmas story and Frost sounds like a great place. This story had a lot of good characters and I enjoyed reading about them. Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy.
I have been reading and enjoying Kathryn Springer’s stories for years. She has a way of making you feel so invested in her characters and their lives. I love that this story has two romances, encompassed in storylines that have you rooting for each character, and is full of all things Christmas!
The small town of Frost and the idyllic Spruce Hill Farm makes for the perfect Christmas setting! The romances in this story are both sweet, but I did wish we could have had more one on one time with each couple to see more of their developing relationships. All in all, Christmas at Spruce Hill Farm was a charming Christmas read that will surely make you ready to start decorating!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own. 4 stars.
Christmas at Spruce Hill Farm by Kathryn Springer is a sweet Christmas romance. There are a variety of characters in the story. A couple of them were a tad frustrating at times. I wanted to put them in a room together and force them to talk to each other (adults can act worse than children). I enjoyed the picturesque descriptions of the farm and the nearby village. The Christmas tree farm had so much potential. I can understand why Brynn found the inn to be cozy and relaxing. The pacing was unhurried in the middle of the book and there is repetitive details. The Christmas aspects were my favorite part, and I enjoyed the ending (had me smiling). Christmas at Spruce Hill Farm is a cozy Christmas story with a writer with burnout, bookstore tours, an irritable innkeeper, an assistant with a secret, a surprise son, a slew of snowstorms, and happy holiday.
Loved it and I don't even celebrate Christmas. Sweet romance at an appealing location. Entertaining behind the scenes look at an author's event. Delightful small-town atmosphere and characters. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.
Lucy Gable is an author’s assistant and she does her best to protect Brynn from…everything. Brynn is ailing but won’t say anything about it except to have Lucy write the last five chapters of her latest book. Lucy adds Trace Hunter and the fans are agog. Brynn’s secret son shows up on their book tour and he’s a ringer for the fictional Trace. Their host at the last stop isn’t exactly welcoming. Could things get any more complicated? Yes!
Readers who like Christmas stories will enjoy this book. Readers will love the small town atmosphere as the people join together to bring back life to the Spruce Hill Farm. Loved the characters! Lots going on, a little predictable but very enjoyable. Recommended.
This is exactly the kind of story you are looking for in a holiday read. This book held my interest from the first page to the last page. It had all of the emotions that you are looking for in a Christmas story with the right amount of angst that usually can be found around family Christmas celebrations. This book invites you to curl up in your favourite reading chair and immerse yourself in the story.
Christmas at Spruce Hill Farm by Kathryn Springer was a beautifully written Christmas story about an author who was doing her tour for her book. There were two romances in the book Lucy’s and Caleb’s and David’s and Brynn’s.
I loved this book. What a great place Frost is. The people who live there are so special. The working/friendship relationship between Brynn and Lucy is so wonderful. The Lucy and Caleb story was fun to watch. How often are first impressions not the true story? This is a great Christmas story and shows us that a little faith can go a long way. I would love to go visit with these wonderful folks at Spruce Hill Farm again. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.
𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒎𝒂𝒔 𝒂𝒕 𝑺𝒑𝒓𝒖𝒄𝒆 𝑯𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝑭𝒂𝒓𝒎 is a beautiful story about friendship, love, and second chances. Brynn Dixon is a fifty-something author experiencing extreme fatigue. She writes about love but doesn’t really experience it. Her assistant, Lucy Gable, devotes all her time and attention to everyone and everything around her, neglecting her own needs and dreams. This book just might be my favorite Christmas romance. From the opening sentence, you not only feel yourself being pulled into the book, but into a vivid holiday movie playing in your mind. The story is light and cozy with reminders of God's power in our lives.
Both Lucy and Brynn experience personal growth that requires them to deal with their pasts in ways that are relatable and heartwarming. The trope of finding love later in life enhances this sweet, clean read even more. While the snowy, small-town Wisconsin backdrop around Spruce Hill Farm invites you in and adds to the charm of the secondary characters. All the personalities weave together wonderfully, with each new introduction flowing seamlessly into the next, without distracting from Lucy and Brynn's journey.
𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒎𝒂𝒔 𝒂𝒕 𝑺𝒑𝒓𝒖𝒄𝒆 𝑯𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝑭𝒂𝒓𝒎 sweeps you away into a Christmas haven, complete with stories of pain, loss, hope, and redemption. Grab a hot cocoa and a warm blanket, settle into your coziest spot, and whisk yourself away to a tiny town in Wisconsin, where all your Christmas romance dreams come true.

Kathryn Springer has done a wonderful job with Christmas at Spruce Hill Farm! I was hooked from the first page. It is a heartwarming story with Christmas Cheer and romance thrown in. What can happen when two people are thrown together at the most magical time of the year? Here you find out what happens between Lucy and Caleb (Brynn's son, who no one knows about!) when neither is looking for love or a relationship but ends up with all the feels anyway. With so many twists and turns (the book tour, winter storm, reluctant farm owner...), the reader won't be able to put the book down! All the characters are wonderfully written and brought to life. This is a definite must read!
Reading Christmas at Spruce Hill Farm by Kathryn Springer will put you in the Christmas mood. It is about family, second chances and forgiveness. I recommend this book to fans of Christmas romance and Christian romance.

Thank you Net Galley, Kathryn Springer and Harlequin for the advance copy of Christmas at Spruce Hill Farm.
CHRISTMAS AT SPRUCE HILL FARM is a slow burn contemporary story that I was pulled in to from the very first page. To be honest, I fell in love with the cover the minute I saw it. I knew I would read it anyway, because I love Kathryn Springer, but the cover really pulled me in. I mean, Christmas and a cute, affectionate dog? Yes please!! What more could you want?

Kathryn Springer always has a way of grabbing her readers and she never lets us go.
CHRISTMAS AT SPRUCE HILL FARM really takes a turn that will have you unable to put this beautiful story down. Lucy has set up a quick book tour to some small towns to help promote Brynn’s book. Then Lucy gets a reals surprise when Brynn’s son shows up at one of the tour stops, a son that no one knows about. Neither one of them trusts the other. The last stop on the book tour is a beautiful tree farm in A small town called Frost. Perfect name right? Neither Lucy or Caleb are looking for a relationship, but they can’t seem to ignore their growing feelings. 💕. CHRISTMAS AT SPRUCE HILL FARM screams Hallmark movie and will make the reader crave hot chocolate.
CHRISTMAS AT SPRUCE HILL FARM is filled with twists and turns and will have the reader staying up way too late one night to finish! I had to know where Kathryn Springer was taking us and what would happen to Lucy and Brynn. I loved Lucy and her family. I really wanted Bryan to get some rest and fight whatever her body was dealing with. There is so much heart in Kathryn’s writing that I’m always left with a huge smile on my face and my heart very happy. All of the characters are very interesting and believable, so much so that I felt as if I’ve known them for a very long time. I love how Kathryn does that to me each and every time.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Christmas at Spruce Hill Farm is a charming and endearing story of second chances, family and forgiveness. Lucy has embarked on a book tour with her author boss and friend Brynn during the holiday season and it isn’t going very well. She had hoped that Brynn would feel inspired to write in her downtime and rejuvenate her poor health, but it seems that things are getting worse than better. Things take another turn when Brynn’s unbeknownst son unexpectedly appears and joins the tour. Now there at their last stop on the tour and hopefully they can end on a good note without anyone the wiser about Brynn’s last book and health scare.
The author has created a wonderful story in which the characters are relatable and lovable. Your heart goes out to them to know their sufferings and doubts and desires. Family is important to everyone for different reasons and those reasons are what brings this community together for the holiday season. It was a well-thought-out plot which goes at a good pace and insightful moments for the characters. The unexpected romances for both Brynn and Lucy is a slow build and they are each caught up in the spirit of the holidays. How can you not be affected by the snow and the events at the tree farm? I thoroughly enjoyed this story and the inspirational moments just added just the right touch to set these characters on their right path. I love holiday romances and this one sparkles with comfort, love and family.
This is a good book. The two main characters are Lucy and Caleb. When they meet there is an instant attraction. Lucy is a personal assistant to a romance author. Caleb works for a nonprofit. Lucy is on a book tour with her boss. Caleb shows up at one of the stops. Come to find out he is the author’s son that she gave up for adoption. He goes on tour with them. He is concerned about his mom’s health. Lucy and Caleb grow closer. They fall in love.
This is a Christmas Romance. I really enjoyed most of this book, and the characters were so great. The farm they ended up at was everything. I did find the middle of this book slowed down the pace, and there were a lot of parts I found to repeat. There were parts of the book I just want the characters to just talk to each other, so they can just stop saying the same things over and over. I did enjoy the Christmas stuff in this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
