Stacey Reid presents and enjoyable and delightful spin on a Gold Hawn and Kurt Russell movie entitled “Overboard” but with a different spin on characters. Although this is part of a series, this story can be read standalone. You have a heroine who chefs for the wealthy to earn a living to support her sisters and an Earl who has a reputation for being a handsome rake. When an opportunity presents itself for Georgina to make a heft sum aboard the Earl of Stannis yacht, she jumps at the chance, however she does not envision herself in the lustful arms of the Daniel in what he believes is the beginning of his tryst with his mistress and her two accomplices. As a result of the misunderstanding, she is fired, carted off the board and paid bare minimal for all her hard work. For the Earl, his disagreement with his mistress leaves him pushed off the ship and found ashore with no memory.

It is Georgiana who discovers his identity after he is found by her uncle and to avoid ruination, she claims that Daniel is her husband and puts him to work at their estate as a sort of revenge, but it doesn’t take long for him to regain his memory and reverse everything.

This story is well-written, and I enjoyed it very much. While there are certain parts of the story that I enjoyed more than others, it was good reading to show Daniel unlikeable in the beginning and developing into a nicer character in the end. Not a bad story but could use some development in some areas.

This book is a variation of the movie Overboard. Georginanna Heyford is a gentleman’s daughter and is a wonderful chef. She provides for her younger sisters by catering. She is hired for a three day party upon a yacht and the money will go far to help her family and repair thier home. Daniel Rutherford, the Earl of Stannis is wealthy, powerful and snobbish. Stannis mistakes Georginianna as friend of his mistress and part of the evening entertainment. She is fired and not paid fairly for her work. When Stannis washes ashore with amnesia but he remembers Georgianna and claims she was in his bed. She in return claims he is her husband. Taking him home and she puts him to work in ways he has never done before. But he likes his life there with her and her younger sisters.

Daniel really is hard to like in the beginning. I enjoyed the first book in this series, A Matter of Temptation (June 2022) and his appearance there was bedding with multi partners at once. And his yacht party is really a continuation of his debauchery ways. Rakes are always fun but they usually treat women with a kindness in books that seems to be missing from Daniel. His thoughts of her being beneath him are not endearing me to him as a reader. Georginanna is a delight. Her care for her sisters, love of cooking, and sense of self is shown wonderfully.

Reid is a good writer and this is entertaining with lots of passion. But Stannis seeing her as only being worthy to be his mistress so late in the story lost a full star in my rating. Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

This is the second book in Stacy Reid's Unforgettable Love series but it can be read as a standalone. This follows Georgiana, she ends up getting a job on the Earl of Stannis's yacht as a chef for a multi-day party he is throwing. The Earl of Stannis has a reputation of being handsome, charming but also a Rake! Unfortunately for Georgiana a misunderstanding gets her fired after one night as the chef on the yacht. This of course leaves her upset with the Earl especially since her and her family needed the income. However, her opportunity for retribution washes up on shore with no memory of who he is. Georgiana puts the Earl to work on her estate that is in disrepair as a way to work off what he owes her.

This book made me go through a range of emotions. It had laugh out loud moments, sad moments, and some angst or tension. I loved the chemistry between Georgiana and Daniel, the Earl of Stannis. I also really enjoyed that Georgiana had a passion for cooking and wanted to become a chef. I adored the sister relationships and how Daniel ending up doting over them! (swoon moment)

Tropes: Amnesia, Forced Proximity, Class Difference

This book has several tropes I typically do not like, however I really enjoyed my time reading this book. Amnesia almost never works for me, in any type of media. I just feel like characters often loose their personality when amnesia is present, but that wasn't the case in this book. I loved how Daniel's personality and instincts still were a part of him, even if he couldn't remember anything about himself. I also think the author did a great job talking about the morality of Eleanor pretending she and Daniel are married. I think we are given a really good reason as towards why she came up with the lie, and throughout the novel we do see her struggle with the lie quite often. It really helps with the ickiness a situation like this could cause. Another thing I really liked about this book is that even though the physical attraction between our two main characters is really strong, and the main driving force between them getting together, Stacy Reid also did a great job at building an emotional connection between the two leads. I feel like often when books start of so strong with the physical attraction, the emotional connection ends up being lacking for me, but that wasn't the case in this book. The only reason this wasn't a five star for me is that the writing (especially the dialogue) felt a bit forced and unnatural at times. But for the rest I really liked this book.

An Earl to Remember" by Stacy Reid is an enchanting historical romance that delivers a delightful twist on the concept of memory loss and mistaken identity. This book has a rouge Earl with amnesia, a beautiful chef, revenge, an angry hen and mean cow and lastly a happily ever after. Georgianna made Daniel a much better person and he finally realized it. There was a lot going on in this story and it all got sorted out in the end,

REVIEW(AN EARL TO REMEMBER BY STACY REID)
THINGS I LIKED
1. The FMC, Georgianna's work, she's a chef, and it's rare for anyone, especially a young woman to have a job in the 1800s
2. How the FMC took care of her sisters in the absence of their parents
3. The revenge plot, it was funny
4. It was deliciously spicy
5. Simple, fast, and wonderful!
👫🏼👫🏼
THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE
1. I didn't like how the FMC was quick to announce their marriage. It was foolish considering the consequences
2. I wanted more, it was too fast. Everyone took just three weeks
👫🏼👫🏼
This book was definitely worth it, if you're a fan of Historical Romance, you should give it a try.

I love, love, love Stacy Reid! I pick up practically everything new she puts out and I loved the first book in her new Unforgettable Love series that came out last year, A Matter of Temptation.

An Earl to Remember was so fun, I loved Goldie Hawn in Overboard when I was a kid and An Earl to Remember really delivered on the premise. When I started the story I didn't know how Stacy Reid was going to redeem The Earl of Stannis' deplorable behavior. I shouldn't have worried though, because Stacy Reid is adept at weaving enthralling stories filled with lovable characters, even if some of them take longer to come around.

I thought the pacing in this story was excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching Georgianna put "Mr. Stannis" through his paces. As well as the heartwarming scenes between the earl and Georgianna's younger sisters.

This was an extremely fun, five star historical for me, and I highly recommend any HR fans or anyone who has enjoyed Stacy Reid's prior works pick up a copy on release day. Also, who doesn't love a good old-fashioned "we'll meet at dawn" line. An Earl to Remember delivers on it all.

Thank you to Stacy Reid, Entangled: Amara, and netgalley for providing me with an early digital copy of this book.

This is quite honestly the most bonkers historical romance I've read in a while - in the first 25% of the book, the following things happen (and almost all are in the blurb so not spoilers):

- Earl hires female chef for 3 day yacht event
- Chef enters his room to drop off food, where he is naked and waiting for his mistress and some of her friends
- He mistakenly assumes that the chef is one of those friends and kisses her
- Mistress walks in and freaks out
- Earl fires the chef and only pays her 20 of her promised 300 pounds
- Earl and mistress fight, she shoves him and he falls overboard and hits his head
- He washes ashore in the chef's town and has amnesia and doesn't know who he is
- Upon seeing her, states to everyone that she has "been in his bed bef0re"
- She quickly decides that to get back at him for firing/not paying her, she's going to convince him and everyone else that they got married and make him to menial labor around the house until he regains his memories

...if you made it this far, yes that is truly within the first 25% of this book. Honestly, I was really enjoying it and was strapped in for the bonkers plot! It was super entertaining - despite Daniel being a MAJOR asshole for the first 40% of the book. I was ready for the rest of the plot to be just as bonkers. And it just...wasn't. There were elements I still really liked (Daniel has major MY WIFE energy) but I think the beginning had set it up to be so bonkers that I felt a little let down by the rest of it. I also don't think Daniel redeemed himself quite enough and would have loved to see him grovel more.

This book did make me laugh a lot, especially as Daniel gets used to menial labor and his interactions with Georgie's sisters were also very sweet.

3.5 stars for me

Georgianna is a down on her luck woman trying to raise her 3 sisters after the death of their parents. While procuring a job on the Earl's yacht, she feels like her luck is finally going to turn around, but after a jealous mistress, a drunk Earl and an orgie at sea party take a turn for the worse, Georgie is trying to find a way to get by.
Daniel Rutherford, Earl of Stannis lives life any way he chooses. He has bags of money, connections and women falling at his feet. After he washes up with amnesia, Georgie decides to get the revenge she so desperately wants by claiming the Earl as her husband. Daniel, for the first time in his life is forced to do manual labor and live a normal life, instead of the privileged life he is so used to. But once his memory returns, what life will he remember?

While there were certainly parts of this story that I enjoyed (I loved Georgie's independence and also her sisters, who were very endearing) and the story was definitely steamy on the romance, my biggest dislike to the book was the "stiff" writing of how the characters spoke. So often it felt so unnatural to read someone say "wife, you look tired. husband, your hands are bleeding, etc.." I wish the author would have made the wording a little more natural by not having to constantly remind the reader that the couple was "married" by calling each other husband and wife all the time. While I also agree with other readers in the sense that Daniel was a little bit unlikeable, especially in the beginning of the story, he ended up growing on my by the middle of the book. Overall, not a bad book by any means, but a little bit of room for overall improvement for the enjoyment of the reader. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the ARC in exchange for my review and honest opinions.

As it turns out, the 80s movie Overboard makes for a great blueprint for a Victorian romance novel! Amnesia, fake marriages, yacht parties, and sexy earls... it all adds up to a perfectly solid histrom.

Daniel Rutherford, the Earl of Stannis, is kind of the worst - a rake, a rogue, a scoundrel, and worst of all, prone to dismissing employees to keep his petty mistress satisfied. But Georgianna Heyford needs the money she was promised for being a chef for one of the earl's rowdy yacht parties. And when Daniel washes up on shore near her town with no memories except a vague one of Georgianna, she sees a way to get even. What's a little lying about a rushed marriage to an amnesiac when her family's well-being is at stake?

There's a lot of tropey goodness in this book, and it's delightfully easy to read. I devoured it in basically one sitting on a plane. The plot works reasonably well, Daniel and Georgie have solid chemistry, and Georgie's sisters are excellent background entertainment. There is a little bit of ick with the whole "manipulating an amnesiac" part of the plot, but Georgie does feel a reasonable amount of guilt over that as time goes on. The ending, too, felt a little rushed, but all in all, a totally enjoyable read!

3.5/5

Historical romance. Victorian-era England. Book 2 of the Unforgettable Love series. Georgianna is an impoverished orphan caring for her three younger sisters but hopes to make a living as a fancy chef to aristocrats. When she gets the opportunity to cater an earl’s yacht party, she is excited at the prospect, despite the earl’s scandalous reputation. However, an argument aboard the ship leads to Georgianna being sent home without proper payment. Sometime later, our rakish earl Daniel somehow falls off the ship and is recovered along a shore near Georgianna’s village with no memory of who he is. He does vaguely recognize Georgianna and to prevent further scandal, she claims him as her husband. She brings him home with her to recover and help assist with the chores around the house, in retaliation for her owed wages. Of course, she feels terribly guilty along the way but also grows to admire his work ethic and his kindness towards her sisters. Daniel’s memory returns in bits and pieces but he is charmed by Georgianna and respects the way that she unselfishly cares for her family. I enjoyed reading the slow-burn wary romance between Georgianna and Daniel, despite knowing that he will likely eventually be upset at her deceptions.

A historical romance twist on the 80s classic movie Overboard, this book is exactly as fun as that sounds.

Georgianna is hired by the rakish Lord Stannis (this story's Goldie Hawn) to be the chef for his mistress' birthday party, which happens to take place on a yacht. After some scandelous misunderstandings, the more or less unfeeling Earl fires Georgie who was in desperate need of the money because she raises her 3 younger sisters after her parents untimely deaths. When the Earl ends up overboard, he just happens to end up in Georgie's small town and without a single clue as to who he is...except he remembers that Georgie has been in his bed (scandelous misunderstandings indeed). She may not have gotten the pay she was promised from him, but there are lots of manual labor jobs needed at her home and she thinks that maybe the Earl is just the man to do them. A little payback shouldn't be a big deal, right? Claiming him as her husband, she takes him back to her delapidated manor and sets him to work. It really is as hilarious and charming as it sounds, but it's also so beautifully written as you really start to feel Georgie's guilt as Daniel (Lord Stannis) tries his best to promise her and her sisters a better life, even though he can't remember who he is or how they met.

Stacy Reid is one of my favorite historical romance authors and this book is just another reminder of why. The characters are so relatable, even the rakish Earl, and your heart bleeds for them as they both try to navigate Georgianna's deception. There's also a perfect blend of slow build tension and sexiness that takes this story from good to great. This is probably the 8th Stacy Reid book I've read and it was just as wonderful as the others. If you're a historial romance reader, I would definitely pick this one up when it comes out.

A very big thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed this advanced copy and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I am such a Stacy Reid fan and just devour all of her new releases.
This one is such a fun romp--Overboard retelling that keeps the goofiness of the OG plot in a historical setting.
Georgie is amazing and I cannot wait to see what Stacy writes next.

It’s a gender-bent Overboard/Regency romance mashup! How fun!
The premise will be somewhat familiar to anyone who has seen the classic romcom starring Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russel. But lovers of regency romance novels will delight in the fun twist here. Way better than the gender bent reboot movie that came out a few years back. I enjoyed!

I just loved this book. I've read Stacy Reid novels before and enjoyed them, so I was expecting (and got) at least a base level of readability. But I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the set-up of this novel and how it was executed.

Our FMC, Georgie, is an orphan taking care of her three youngest sisters and struggling financially since the death of her parents. Her only family left, an aunt, wants them to sell their home and use the proceeds to set up the girls for the marriage market. George refuses and instead seeks employment as a chef catering high society events. She is a very talented cook but there is reluctance to hire a young unmarried woman and the people of her town are scandalized by the fact that she wants to work at all.

Enter the Earl of Stannis, a wealthy rake known for wild parties and debauchery. He hires Georgie to cater a yacht party at a rate that would provide for her family for an entire year, only to fire her on night one at the insistence of his mistress and refuses to pay her the remaining sum owed. When his mistress pushes him overboard and nearly kills him, Lord Stannis loses his memory and washes up on shore close to the home of Georgie and her family. She feels forced to claim him as her husband after the barely coherent Lord Stannis insists that he remembers nothing but the fact that he knows her body carnally--and she decides that instead of telling him the truth of who he is or what happened, she will get the value of the money he owes to her from him in household chores while he still has amnesia.

Both characters are flawed but deep down, very likable. Georgie feels guilty for essentially kidnapping the earl but also is in a desperate situation and wants to provide for her sisters, who she deeply loves. Lord Stannis can be cruel (when he has his memory) but ultimately cares about those he is responsible for and without his memory is exactly the kind, hard working type of husband Georgie needs. My only slight quibble is that the ending resolved a little too quickly--I would have liked just a tiny bit more prior to the epilogue, even if it's just one night. The whole tone of the book is very funny and light but the relationship that develops between the two of them is touching. I could easily see re-reading this one again.

If you’ve seen and enjoyed Overboard (1987) with Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn or Overboard (2018) with Anna Faris and Eugenio Derbez, you will love this novel. This version is gender bent from the original movie but with its’ own quirks and twists that you’ll fall in love with.

Daniel Rutherford, the Earl of Stannis, is a naughty playboy. He throws a lavish party on his yacht to celebrate the birthday of his mistress. While his passion for said mistress has been waning, she invites two friends to join her in the earl’s bed. When he mistakes the fantastic chef he’d hired for the three-day cruise, Georgianna Heyford, for one of the additional ladies, he sweeps her into passionate kisses before she can make a peep. Once all is revealed, the mistress wants Georgianna gone and fakes a food illness. Georgie is sacked and while Daniel is upset about kicking her off the boat at the time, he still does it. Before he can rectify the situation, he lands himself in the water with a bump to his head and no memory. The doctor who treats Daniel happens to be Georgie’s cousin and she scoops him up as her new husband after he recalls their passionate kiss.

Georgie is the eldest of four girls and is responsible for them and a crumbling country manor after their mother and father died. The job working on the Earl’s yacht was to be her big break and take care of them for a year. Once Daniel lands in her lap, she puts him to work, which he takes on with gusto and a little help from the younger sisters. I loved that Georgie is never malicious in her “punishment” of the earl. She cares for him almost from the very start and her two youngest sisters look up to their new brother-in-law as a hero.

While we do get that HEA, the way Reid leads us there is very different from either movie. I was ecstatic when twists I never saw coming appeared. The growth over the entire experience of both Daniel and Georgie is breathtaking. Get ready to laugh, cry, and fall in love with the adventures of Daniel and Georgie. I promise, you won’t regret it.

I received An Earl to Remember (Unforgettable Love #2) for free. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

This was such a fun book to read. An Earl to Remember starts with a premise that’s just a little different. A lesson taught that’s too delicious to resist but you know that so much could go wrong. Georgianna and Daniel are so perfect for each other but them figuring it out is a wonderfully satisfying tale. Stacy Reid is an auto read for me and An Earl To Remember is her at her finest!

What a fabulous read this book is and what a great journey I have been on .
A relationship born of lies and a fake marriage to an earl who has lost his memory of course it can only lead to more lies and deception and certain disaster .
A web of lies that leads to more than either had expected or wanted .
It’s a feisty read with plenty of passion and sizzling hot scenes and some tender moments that leads to this being lovely romance novel that you will just adore .

This book is a wonderful combination of sexy, angsty and romantic with fantastic characters.
Amnesia as a trope can be tricky, and I think, it was handled perfectly every step of the way.
Stacy Reid is quickly becoming one of my favourite historical romance authors.
I loved the possible tease of the next book and can't wait.
