I have conflicting feelings towards this book. On the one hand I adored the secondary plots, the side characters and the interaction between the hero, the heroine, and her sisters. I loved the setting and the way the love story is slowly developing from raw lust to love. However I hated the premise. Let me explain.

Daniel, the earl of Stannis, is a rake and he’s proud of it. He knows that one day he will have to marry in order to continue the line, but in the meanwhile, he means to enjoy life and everything life has to offer… That’s why when he sees a beautiful woman aboard his boat on a party he thinks she’s one of the ladies his mistress has chosen to have a ‘menage à trois’. He couldn’t be more wrong, this young lady is Georgianna, an impoverished woman chef who needs to provide for herself, her three younger sisters and a number of farm animals. There’s a fight with the real mistress and Georgianna is sacked. That very night Daniel tells his mistress to part ways and after a huge fight he hits his head and falls overboard. The next morning, the local doctor finds a man who has amnesia and Georgianna is the only one around who knows who he is. To stop the villagers to spread rumors about him debauching her, she declares that Daniel is, in fact, her husband. Here starts a long misunderstanding that makes Georgie pretend all the time, manipulating him into doing chores and whatnot, at least until he recovers his memory.

I loved Daniel, he is so arrogant and takes everything for granted at the beginning and so sweet on meeting Georgianna’s sisters. His sense of humor and his tenderness wins him the girl’s heart, especially the youngest’s, Anna, who is just a child. The girls adore him and little by little that has an impact both on Daniel and Georgianna who start developing feelings for each other. Once again Stacy Reid writes so beautifully and so romantically that she proves once again why she is a favorite of mine. Reading her is like being comforted after a bad day, it’s like taking a warm bath on a cold rainy day. And this story is delicate and beautiful even if I hate the main trope with a passion.

I hate when one of the main characters has amnesia and the fact is taken advantage of. I hate when one of the couple lies to the other about their identity or their life. I don’t mind the amnesia trope when it is done well and carefully, I don’t mind when it is the amnesiac themselves who believes that their love interest is their spouse. But when it is that love interest who lies on purpose, no matter how good their intentions are I just can’t, I feel deeply uncomfortable and I fear the moment when the truth is finally out. That’s why I had to lower my rating, even if it pains me.

Georgianna Heyford is hired by well known rogue and scoundrel, Daniel Rutherford, the Earl of Stannis to cater a meal on his yacht for one of his scandalous parties. The party and the food were a success until Georgie goes to Daniel's room to deliver food and he mistakes her for someone he was expecting to have a rendezvous with. After Daniel discovers Georgie isn't who he thought she was, he fires her and refusing to pay her the full amount she was due for her catering services. Daniel and his mistress have a fight and she ends up shoving him and he falls overboard. Daniel wakes up in a doctor's suite with no memory of who he is. The doctor is Georgie's cousin and when she notices the Earl at his office and finds out he has memory loss, she decides to get revenge on him. Georgie informs Daniel that they are married and she takes him home and introduces him to her siblings and proceeds to have him help her with tasks that are needed to be done around her home. You have to keep reading to find out what comes next. Will the Earl get his memory back? What will Georgie do next? Mrs. Reid is one of my go to authors when I am looking for a good story and she delivers with An Earl to Remember. I will be waiting for her next installment.

What a delightful storyline with such wonderful characters and dialogue, that I loved every page of it! Georgina and Daniel were perfect for one another even though they were stations apart. He’s a libertine Earl, while she’s a naive country girl. But she’s a great cook that lands a job on his yacht catering the food for his party, and the two are drawn to each other. So when he ends up washed ashore in her small town , not remembering who he is, she takes him in claiming him to be her new husband. He takes to farm life like a duck to water, doing chores and being a part of her family. What could go wrong, until he finds out who he really is! Their chemistry and passion was off the charts, and a most enjoyable read!

This gender swap of Overboard was so much fun! I'm a huge fan of the movie, and I loved seeing so many of the elements play out in the pages! So if you're a fan of the amnesia trope, historical romance, and love defying all odds, then definitely put this one on your tbr! An Earl to Remember was charming, steamy and absolutely entertaining.

Miss Georgianna Eleanor Heyford seemed to have the weight of the world on her shoulders. She was responsible for caring for her three younger sisters, since her parents had passed away. When she got a job catering for Daniel Rutherford, the Earl of Stannis, her sister was worried. Daniel had the reputation of a rake. So when a moment between Daniel and Georgie quickly escalated, she got to see his true colors afterwards. How he thought of those with her station. How anything physical meant nothing to him. And how he had no problem not paying her the full amount of her work, all because his lover was jealous. When Daniel washed up on the shores and in her cousin's doctors office, Georgie took charge of her life. She saved herself from being ruined and was going to have Daniel payback what he owed her by working around her house.

Georgie was a woman who was determined to get what she wanted. When Daniel recognized Georgie, it went along perfectly with the lies she created while also mixing in a little bit of the truth from time to time. The strawberry birthmark was the first of many moments that had me loving this book even more, because of the ties to Overboard! So I was cackling every time Georgie messed with Daniel. She told him he was broke. She gave him a huge list of chores he was to do around the house and land. The shock that came from Daniel had me dying from laughter. A man like him chasing around a chicken? Breaking up a pig and chicken fight? It was all so much fun! He definitely got what he deserved! Yet Daniel did it all without complaints. He worked from sun up to sun down to take care of his wife and family.

Daniel went from someone I loathed to someone that made my heart cheer with how he took care of his family. I loved watching his transformation. I loved that he showed us he was capable of being a good and honest man. That he respected Georgie. And how he became someone she could depend on. Whether it was the emotional weight Georgie carried, or helping around the house, he was kind to her. He always tried to do what was best for her. So when he kissed her, as her "husband", my heart soared. And the moment he defended someone's honor, that was it. I was a goner. There was no way I couldn't fall head over heels in love with Daniel!

I liked Georgie right away, even when she was tricking Daniel. I may have judged her lol, but I definitely didn't fault her for the decision she made. As she became friends with Daniel, liked him and relied on him, I was terrified for her. This was not her true life. And while she knew she should tell him the truth, she couldn't. She was attached. So I held my breath waiting for the other shoe to drop and it all to blow up in Georgie's face. And when it did, I didn't see it going that way and my mouth was left hanging wide open!

One of my favorite things about this book was that Daniel's dirty mouth was phenomenal! He had a way with words that made things erotic and crated so much heat. So there were plenty of scenes in this book that were seductive and steamy. The details had me fanning my face, they were explicitly hot! And in all, it was the perfect amount for this story! Another thing I loved was Georgie's younger siblings Anna and Sarah. They were so adorable, and I loved watching Daniel connect with them. And Lizzie, while older and was someone Georgie could confide in, she had a tiny little story that made my heart so happy! Add in that we got to see Simon and Minas from the previous book A Matter of Temptation, aww I loved it all! Just know that you definitely don't have to read the previous one before this!

While alternating between Daniel and Georgie, this book was so much fun! An Earl to Remember had the most fabulous of endings and the epilogue will make readers close this book smiling! I can't wait to see what Stacy writes next!

Stacy Reid delivered yet another unique historical romance, which we know and love her for. This one did not hit quite the same for me and some of her other books do though. It starts off with the heroine working as a chef on the hero's yacht. He mistakenly assumes that she is one of the two women he was going to get to be with that night. His mistress gets upset, he fires the heroine, his mistress pushes him overboard, resulting in amnesia. The heroine then tells him that he is her husband and that he lives with her and her sisters. She plans to get revenge on him for firing her and leaving her out of the money she was counting on. He is put to work where they live, which he is not accustomed to.

What I was disappointed with was how much this story relied on their physical chemistry. There wasn't much emotional depth to make you feel like they really did love each other. It was purely physical.

I loved this book. IMO Stacy Reid can do no wrong. This book was angsty but also funny which is a tough line to balance. I usually don't love this trope but this was superbly done. Like I did not want the book to end and I was on the edge of my seat until the ending!

I did enjoy this story very much. I couldn’t blame Georgianna for wanting her revenge on Daniel, Earl of Stannis. Georgianna was the one to take care of her siblings and provide for them, as well as trying to repair the home. Daniel was a care free, wealthy gentleman, who did what he wanted and when he wanted. They did have an instant attraction but came from very different stations in life. There was humour in this story and some heat, which made for a very entertaining read. The pace did slow a little about a third of the way in but the latter parts more than made up for this. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I think if a book was going to make me enjoy an amnesia plot, it would have to be this one. And I do not love amnesia plots. But Reid has a way of crafting these improbable plot lines (much like her other book The Wolf and the Wallflower) that really makes them enjoyable even if they’re not super believable. Reid’s writing is really atmospheric and lovely, like always. But something I noticed on this release is how absolutely….pathetic the FMC acted in the face of rejection compared to the MMC who was so dead set on “I can’t marry her because she’s not an aristocrat”. But like…he literally can lol It’s just a plot point there to cause angst and it was almost in the last 10% or so that he pulls his head out of the sand and realizes he can do what he wants since he’s….literally in a position of power?? It just made the FMC look so weepy and pathetic because she’s moping around for this man that spent a chunk of the book with his mistress and then he spends the rest determined to find another woman to marry because the FMC is essentially only good enough to sleep with or be his mistress? It’s something I’ve noticed in several of Reid’s books and I think it might be time for any other kind of plotline to be used, because this one is especially tired and aggravating. A Matter of Temptation was such a beautiful read so I was really excited for this one but, this was a series installment that was more frustrating than romantic.

I feel so bad for not liking this. It was mostly the main mc's faults (unbearable and slut shaming). I did enjoy Georgianna's sisters though.

An Earl to Remember is the second book in the Unforgettable Love series. I absolutely loved this story. The whole time I was reading it I kept thinking about the movie Overboard only in reverse. It was hilarious, steamy, and so entertaining. I didn't want to put it down. I really liked that it made me laugh multiple times. I don't mind that this genre is typically more serious, but life can be funny and so should these books.

Daniel Rutherford, the Earl of Stannis is well-known rake for his antics. He has no intention of marrying until he is at least 40, and maybe older if he can get away with it. He throws a party for one of his mistresses on a yacht and hires a chef to cook for the festivities.

Miss Georgianna Eleanor Heyford is hired to cater his luxurious yacht party. Having heard the rumors about the Earl's behavior, she is determined to not get swept up by the Earl. She is going to do her job, get paid and leave. But when Daniel sees her, he makes the assumption that Georgina is to be part of the "night's entertainment" and is caught being kissed by Daniel by his mistress and her two lady friends who are furious. Daniel is forced to fire Georgie and shorts her the money owed to her.

Daniel argues with his mistress and in anger she pushes him, and he falls overboard after he hits his head. He awakens at a doctor's office after he was found in the water with no memory of who he is or what has happened. Georgie hears what has happened and decides to go see the man at the doctor's office who happens to be her cousin. When she realizes who he is she is shocked. But Daniel takes one look at her and remembers her and starts saying he slept with her. Georgie is unable to correct him, so she blurts out that he is her husband.

A plan comes together as the earl will work off the money he owes her, or he gets his memory back. But as all great plans come together, they can also fall apart.

This book was fabulous on so many levels. It was funny, the characters were great, and the writing was well done. I loved that it mirrored Overboard in reverse as it is usually the other way around. But I also loved the fact that Georgie was an accomplished chef without schooling. It was a wonderful idea for a story. I didn't find anything that I didn't like about the book. I plan on reading the whole series, I hope that it is a long one with many funny moments in them all.

Unforgetable Love #2, An Earl to Remember finds a strong female protagonist doing what she must to help her family, even claiming the man that washed ashore with amnesia is her husband. The Earl, can't remember anything, including his title, riches and how he came to be in the English countryside apparently married to Georgianna Heyford. It's explained they were in the "throws of passion" that led them to be husband and wife.

This steamy historical read has sizzling chemistry, and the Earl's naughty talk is blistering. There's humor, witty banter as these two find their happily ever after in the most unconventional manner.

You'll swoon at this romances ending. Hopefully there are more books is this series. Reid is one of my favorite regency romance authors.

Classic historical romance from Reid. Amnesia stories can be hit or miss but this one had some great moments. Low class woman was more interesting for me. The chemistry took a while to build up, but both MCs were likable. Steamy but not until about 50 percent in. I do think the female lead was a little too perfect, wish she had some more grit, still a great story with a swoon worthy end!

This was such a great Overboard retelling. It was fun and steamy. I loved how quickly Daniel jumped into his new role as husband.

Miss Georgianna Heyford has heard all about the Earl of Stannis, his charm, and scandalous behavior. So she's sure she'll be able to cater his luxurious yacht party without getting swept away. An unfortunate misunderstanding leaves Georgianna fired, and without being paid in full.

Until an opportunity for payback washes ashore.

Daniel Rutherford, the Earl of Stannis, does not remember who he is. He's been told that he fell overboard and the only person he seems to recognize is Georgianna. Her face is familiar and he seems to recall kissing her. She's even claiming to be his wife!

This means she'll be able to get a little revenge by putting the Earl to work. She has a list of chores for him to do every day. The more time he spends around her family, the more he feels like he belongs. But what will she do when he gets his memory back?

Thank you so much to the author, Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC to Review.

I received this title as an ARC on Net-galley in exchange for a honest review. Thank you Entangled Amara for the copy!

The Good
Georgianna and Daniel had amazing chemistry. So good infact, Daniel loses his memory but still remembers making out with her. Daniel is a rake with a capitol R. Georgianna is independent but also cares deeply about her and her siblings reputation. I think this concept was really unique and fun. The chemistry is the real highlight of this book. It was written extremely well and it lit fire to the metaphorical pages.

The Bad
Even though it was fun, I feel like the plot in general was a bit convoluted and the duke was not likable to me once he regained his memories.

Format:
Ebook — Netgalley

The Rating
I give this book a 3/5🌟 rating. While the chemistry was spectacular, my dislike of the duke made the romance aspect less enjoyable for me.

Miss Georgianna Eleanor Heyford or Georgie, Elizabeth or Lizzie, Sarah, and Annabelle or Anna, four sisters who love one another. Georgie is a chef, he passion for food feed the soul. Mozzie is the writer of children's book, with her imagination. Sarah and little Anna have not founds theirs yet being 10 and 8. They love animals though.

Georgie agrees to be the chef for a birthday cruise. Aunt Thomasina wants them to join her for the season to find husbands. Both George and Mozzie have other ideas. Puzzle is also in love with a barrister Jonathan Hayle.

When he mistakes Georgie for one of the doxies Lady Johanna has tempted him with, Lady Bonnie and Lady Delilah. When they walk in Georgie tries to flee but is unsuccessful. Then gets fired the next day. Daniel and Johanna argue and Daniel goes overboard, hitting his head.

A strange man is found with amnesia. when he blurts out he has had Georgie in his bed, she is mortified. This is where our story starts. Why does he say this? What does Georgie do? What does Daniel do once he gets his memory back?

Georgianna Heyford has taken care of her sisters since the death of her parents. She is quite talented in the kitchen, and hopes that her skills will give her a means of income. She has secured a job catering a yacht party for the Daniel, Earl of Stannis. Georgianna is angry when, due to an incident that wasn’t what it seemed, she is fired without the wage she was promised. As fate would have it, awhile later the person who caused the dismissal accidentally pushed Daniel overboard (and she did not tell anyone). Now what is a girl to do when the man who unfairly dismissed her from a job washes up on shore near her home not knowing who he is or where he came from? She finds her revenge, of course. She claims he is her husband and puts him to work. This is a cute story where an arrogant rake is chased by a hen, kicked by a cow, and learns some valuable lessons. Georgianna’s sisters accept him immediately, and he begins to feel like a part of a family. He and Georgianna are attracted to each other. What will happen if and when he regains his memory? How will Daniel cope with his old life? How will he deal with Georgianna? A well-done story with strong characters, lots of humor, a steamy romance, and a happy ending.

Admittedly, Reid is a hit or miss author for me, but she has a way with storytelling that suspends my disbelief & always makes me eager for more. Before, I realized what the story was about, I was intrigued with idea of a chef heroine hired for catering.

There is something about Georgianna that makes you fall in-love with her from the start. She’s obviously a hopeless romantic who attempts to guard her heart to the reality that she has a family to care for. Yet when she allows a glimpse in, you can’t help but be swept away.

I think that’s what made falling for Daniel so easy as well. He’s straight up a d*ck in the beginning and it’s amusing to see how Georgie twists the situation to her advantage. But his willingness to open up to the family and to take responsibility for their care belies his true self despite the Profligate Rake persona.

And there’s nothing more amusing than an absurd grovel! Reid manages to maintain the hilarity of the original movie in a setting more than a hundred years prior.

I adored this charming book. The story was funny, kind of cute and filled with feels. Georgianna and Daniel's romance has a very "Overboard" aura to it that I really enjoyed. You can't not feel for poor Georgie at the start, but as things progress and affection blossoms, your heart aches for them both even as at melts.

Absolutely loved this story! Spicy, humorous, and a little twist of emotional. I was 100% engaged and invested in a happy ending for Georgianna and Daniel.

"She fitted against him with such perfection, he had the inane thought that this woman was fashioned precisely for him."

Georgianna Heyford is responsible for her three younger sisters. She's a talented chef and is desperate enough to fill the family coffers that she embarks on a risqué assignment aboard the yacht of the notorious Daniel Rutherford, 14th Earl of Stannis. Stannis is a known rake with no intention of getting married for a long, long time, the pressure from his family notwithstanding. From the moment he spies Georgianna, it's lust at first sight, which leads to a misunderstanding that cuts short her job, and leads her to make a rash decision when Daniel turns up in her village, with no memory of who he really is. And, so begins a deception that ultimately puts Georgianna's heart at risk.

"Have you ever wanted something so much it hurt to want it, and you also feel incredibly foolish because you know it is not yours to have and it will never be?"

Gah! This author gets me every time! I fell in love with this story. Georgianna was admirable in her love for her family and how she takes care of them, and works tirelessly to put food on the table. She's independent and forward-thinking, refreshingly direct and honest. Daniel is such a determined bachelor that he doesn't realise that he's slowly falling in love with her until it's almost too late.

"I plan to make love to you for the entire night, Georgianna, and I might still never be free of this hunger I have for you."

Daniel's all-consuming desire for Georgianna thrilled the socks off me! They were absolutely fire together and I was absolutely rooting for them all the way. I loved that the storyline wasn't overly dramatic, but it definitely still pulled at my heartstrings. Absolutely loved this story and can't wait for this author's next offering.
