This book was a pretty good read by one of my favorite authors. Ms Reid has written a fun and witty romance inserted with a hot guy and a feisty woman who start off on the wrong foot. The characters were fully developed with thoughts and feelings of their own.
The hot guy is Daniel Rutherford, the Earl of Stannis, who has party on his yacht full of drunk folks being naughty. He has a run in with a woman chef who has tried to supply them with the food but the Earl is not pleased.
Georgianna Heyford is the chef hired to cook and serve the food for the Earl. He tries to compromise her and she gives him a what for. Then he fires her and doesn't pay for anything to compensate her.
When the man falls overboard and washes ashore in Georgianna's village, she gets her revenge and tells him they are married. (Since he's lost his memory)
Daniel comes to understand there is more to life than getting drunk and laid.
Georgianna begins to understands there is more to him than his past deeds. They become closer and find many things that build a friendship. They soon find themselves in love, but can Daniel forgive her for her little lie? Yes, fate gives them a happy ever after that lasts a lifetime of happiness.
I appreciate Net Galley for this ARC title in which I gave an honest review.

I Wish You Had Been Real

Stacy Reid returns with book two of her Unforgettable Love series, with a spicy romance about finding purpose and love. Miss Georgianna Elanor Heyford (Georgie) dreams of becoming a renowned chief, and supporting her three sisters. Receiving an invitation to cater for the notorious rake Daniel Rutherford, the Earl of Stannis’ lavish Yacht party, is not ideal. Yet it is an excellent opportunity to display her skills. She just needs to avoid the alluring eyes of the Earl. Daniel is content with his dalliances, working, and avoiding marriage. Until he is found washed ashore without his memories. Georgianna is left in a difficult position of protecting her reputation, by claiming him as her husband. In the meantime, they must make a life together, as his memories slowly return.

Stacy Reid starts her story off fast with a spicy first encounter between Georgianna and Daniel. Georgianna makes a dazzling impression with her amazing food, and an even more provocative one with Daniel. When the ridiculous Lady Johanna Wimpole reacts poorly to his dismissal, he is left ashore without his memories. His very public declaration of their liaison, leaves Georgianna no choice but to claim him is her husband. It is her quick wits, work ethic, and fiery temper that helps her manage Daniel’s practical but wicked tongue. Though, who can blame Georgianna for a little revenge after his boorish dismissal. Which he responds with his own deviousness. So, a bit of a warning for some passionate swearing.

Stacy Reid’s writing is a lot of fun to read, with spunky characters, fast-paced plots, and passionate romance. The sisters Elizabeth (Lizzie), Sarah, and Annabelle (Anna) are delightful as they help Daniel mange his new chores. It is his determination to make the best of his situation, and to work hard that endears him to the family. For Georgianna, it is his tempting kisses, and his diligence to her wellbeing. Together, they must reconcile their responsibilities with their dreams.

An Earl to Remember is a fun historical romance that you will not be able to put down.

Goodness, this book is fun and oh so spicey. You will love this book if you love the Overboard movies (either with Goldie Hawn or Anna Fairs). Stacy has taken the premise of those movies and given them a historical twist. You wouldn’t think it would work, but it does. Georgianna and her sisters need money. Georgie believes she has found the answer to their prayers when she gets the catering job on the Earl of Stannis’s yacht. But unfortunately, things don’t go as planned, mainly because the Earl is a bit of a rake and an asshole and cannot keep his hands or lips to himself. Georgie gets fired and is once again left trying to figure out what she will do to keep on supporting herself and her sisters. Then a few days later, she hears that the man was found by the shoreline with no memory of who he is. Georgie is surprised to see that it is this mysterious man is the Earl, and after a few misunderstandings, she finds herself taking home the Earl. Of course, shenanigans and sparks happen during the Earl’s stay at Georgie’s house.

I loved this story. It’s spicey, funny, sweet, witty, and just really enjoyable to read. It’s one of those books that just captures your attention, and before you know it, you have ended up reading the whole thing in one sitting. I devoured the sharp and witty dialogue. All the characters are going to keep you on your toes and very entertained. I loved Georgia’s youngest sisters. They are adorable, and I just melted my heart every time they interacted with Daniel, aka the Earl. The mischief those three got themselves into just had me chuckling. The story is fast-paced enough that I didn’t find myself getting bored, which can sometimes happen in historical romances (at least for me).

If you love the dirty talk in Tess Bailey’s books, then you will swoon over Daniel’s character. The dirty talk that came out of that man’s mouth had me blushing at times. This is also a more graphic open-door romance, so for those who are looking for something more spicer, this might be the book for you. This story has plenty of tropes; you have amnesia, fake marriage, enemies to lovers, and even one bed. All these tropes come together beautifully and create a fabulous love story. The sparks between Georgia and Daniel fly right from the first heated glance between them on Daniel’s yacht. I loved the way they both got under each other’s skin, and they literally could not stop thinking about each other.

An Earl to Remember is a spicey unique historical romance that I could not put down.

This was absolutely delightful! And I have never used that word to describe a book I’ve read but it’s the only one that fits. I loved everything about this story.

Daniel was a bit of a bounder and his initial reactions to an accusation against the heroine had me fuming along with Georgianna. So yeah, bring on the revenge!!! And that’s when a side I never expected to see began to emerge and Daniel was the sweetest thing. I adored his relationship with Georgianna’s siblings. I also liked his willingness to jump in where needed. I don’t believe this side of him would have been apparent without the storyline as it was.

Georgianna was a strong, independent heroine. But then again, she really didn’t have a choice. However, her dedication to her profession as well as taking care of her family had me cheering her on.

Together, this couple were just too much fun. I loved every moment of this story and it ended way too soon. This was a fast paced read that never bogged down and was relatively low angst throughout. The drama is low, the laughs abundant and the steam sizzling.

Stacy Reid always has the best tropes. ALWAYS.

Revenge
Amnesia
Instant attraction
fake marriage
Sweet family
She's a chef
Overboard Retelling

Retellings are hit or miss for me. Like I get pulled out of the story looking for threads of the original. But once this retelling of the movie, Overboard, got going I was hooked. I found him to be so great even through his scoundrel-ness. You could see that there was more to him than what he showed and when she was his "wife", he was a great husband. I loved this book more than I expected to and can't wait to read anything Reid sends our way.

With a bold and scandalous, start this had all the promise of a delicious romance. The situation set up an impossible way for Georgianna and I loved her spirit. Daniel was a rake and gorgeous. I fell for him immediately and by the time he warmed up to her whole family I was a goner. The story made me nervous and excited. Stacy Reid writes playful enduring relationships that make me love romance. Her hero’s are all about the chase and honor to do what’s right. It’s really something special.
What I loved:
Both sides of Daniel
The intimacy
Hetty the hen
The romance and the HEA

I highly recommend.

I really enjoyed reading this. It was a very easy, quick read for me. The writing is engaging and light and the plot moves at a good pace. The chemistry between Georgianna and Daniel was good, particularly early on, but their dynamic worked well for me throughout. I particularly liked how sweet Daniel was with her sisters, and how much he came to enjoy their lifestyle together at her family home. The love scenes were very steamy and well-written.

The novel also made what I felt were good and refreshing writing choices. I was surprised by a few of the decisions made, and I found his reaction to her deceit to be more measured and realistic than I expected it to be. The angst from their separation was well-written as well.

However, I found the ending a little weaker than the rest of the book. It felt both too blunt and too dragged out. Some parts of it felt a little repetitive, and I didn’t understand some of the decisions that the characters made. Still, it’s a very romantic and steamy book and the central tropes were done very well. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a romance novel with the amnesia / hidden identity and class difference tropes. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing a free copy of this book.

Content Notes: Head injuries, attempted murder, near drowning, death of a parent (in past), train collision (in past), on-page sex, virgin FMC.

An Earl to Remember is a witty and swoon-worthy read. This charming historical romance captivated me with its delightful storyline and engaging characters.

I throughly enjoyed this book! It’s a historical romance set in England, though I’m not sure what year it is set, and that made some of the references a little confusing. Otherwise, it’s a very fun romance between a young woman trying to make her way as a chef to provide for her younger sisters and a rakish earl with a terrible reputation who loses his memory after falling overboard during a yacht party.

The characters were fun, and the plot was enjoyable even though you sometimes cringe along with Georgie the FMC at some of the situations she ends up in. It was definitely spicy and explicit and very fun.

My main note about this book is that “wanton” is overused, especially in the second half of the book. Felt a bit like “wanton” this, “wanton” that. It’s definitely a fun word, but it was a bit much.

All in all, this was a very fun book. I’d recommend it if you want a light-hearted, explicitly spicy historical romance with a HEA.

Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

When I found out one of my favorite romances of last year (Reid's A Matter of Temptation) was getting a sequel and that it would be an Overboard retelling, I absolutely smashed the request button! I am always impressed with Reid's ability to pull off wild plots and I knew that this book would be no exception.

Reid does a wonderful job of using both the historical setting and a gender swap to the story's advantage. Georgianna and Daniel are an immensely passionate couple, both in their romance and in their zest of life, and watching them build their relationship is simply a joy. While I wish we could have had just a bit more emotional development in the relationship, the delicious dirty talk that we get from our earl more than makes up for that!

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled: Amara for an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review!

I enjoyed this story very much. Loved storyline.
Georgianna is great. To get even on Daniel, after he loose his memory, she tells him they are married.

Ahh, Stacy Reid. Crazy plots, swoon alpha males, big emotions---you honestly can't go wrong. She is one of my fave indie authors ever, and I would read the phonebook if she wrote it. *swoon* Here's a little of what to expect from this book:

-reformed rake
-tough-as-nails chef heroine
-adorable family shenanigans
-amnesia plot involving a yacht
-country setting
-SUPER steamy love scenes!
-competence kink
-BIG "my wife" energy

Normally, I'm not a fan of amnesia plots. They can get messy really quick. In Reid's capable hands, of course, that isn't what happens. I think Stacy does an excellent job of making Daniel kind of an asshole in the beginning. That only made the transformation all the more beautiful to watch. To watch this arrogant earl go from entitled jerk to sexy, manly family man was *perfection*. Reid takes a tired trope--the reformed rake--and literally deconstructs it by making him lose the memories of his former life through the amnesia plot.

As for our heroine, I grew to love Georgie, but in the beginning, she was pretty high and mighty, and that really irritated me. However, the love for her family and the weight of her responsibilities had me rooting for her in no time. I started to understand WHY she was the way she was. Reid has always written gorgeous, steamy love scenes, and I am never disappointed in that department. She can write both alpha AND beta male characters so well, that the love scenes are always perfectly done. (I'm looking at you, Simon, from A Matter of Temptation. Whew. I had no idea beta males could be so freaking HOT until I read that book.)

Overall, if you love Stacy Reid books, or you are a fan of any of the above, trust me on this. You're going to love it. I can't recommend it (and Reid!) enough. I'm now adding Daniel to my book boyfriend list. *sigh*

**A huge thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book to read and review for my own opinions.**

A very different story but lots of fun to read. What do Georgianna (Georgie for short) and Daniel have in common? Nothing really but they create a real problem when Daniel, after being thrown overboard from his yacht, remembers enough about Georgie, brought in as a chef for a special party for his mistress, to say, in front of witnesses, he remembers her in his bed! Of course, his memory is faulty as he is suffering from amnesia. Georgie, to save her reputation, says they are married, and since she wasn't paid the agreed amount of money for her services and dismissed early because of the said mistress' jealousy, decides to use Daniel's amnesia to get her "revenge." Daniel turns into a man of all work to fix up their crumbling manor, but neither of them, dead set against marriage, realize what is happening. Far fetched but fun to read and I love both Georgie and the "new" Daniel. Although I received an ARC this review is based on my own opinions! I highly recommend this book.

The hero starts out so arrogant that I took an instant dislike to him, but he changed for the better and finally found his heart. The heroine had a lot she was responsible for and I could understand why she had to claim they were married. I enjoyed her little sisters and the animals they loved. The book has some steamy scenes and some sexual language, but I just glossed over that as it isn’t my preferred reading. The storyline was very enjoyable. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Take Overboard (as an elder millennial/Oregon Trail, I’m thinking the 1987 version with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, didn’t see the 2018 remake) and make it Victorian England! So the snooty, rich Goldie is (damn) Daniel Rutherford, Earl of Stannis (of course I only think Game of Thrones when I hear Stannis). And the financially poor but rich in familial love Kurt is Miss Georgianna Heyford, the affable, caretaker/eldest sister of three, who has a passion for cooking.

I was very worried that I would really dislike Daniel, because when we meet him he’s already entangled with a mistress and is just kind of a jerk. I was hoping for a huge character arc for Daniel and I was very pleased with how Daniel developed over the course of the book. His efforts to provide for his family as “husband” was just so endearing.

My heart really went out to Georgianna, who at 18 lost her parents and as eldest took on the responsibilities of mom and dad to her two baby sisters. In a time period where women did not have rights, I really felt her frustration at wanting to make a proper career out of her catering to give her sisters a good life, but also not having a true voice in society since she was a woman.

The chemistry between Daniel and Georgianna was delightful. There is angst and passion and love and more angst and more passion. They both struggle with guilt and a sense of familial duty and of course, how could they ever be together when one person is so beneath the other is station?

I loved this book and recommend if you’re looking for a historical romance with amnesia, a fake marriage, class difference, angst, mix of sweet and comedic moments, and most of all spice.

Thanks you NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the advanced copy. My review is voluntarily provided and my own thoughts and opinion

Historical Overboard....

With a hardened rake. Daniel is a true libertine, a hardened rake who is bored with everything and attempts to take full advantage of Georgianna, his cook, on a yacht, as his mistress had set up a foursome, yes, with her and two other ladies. I think some people really overestimate their prowess in bed, or stamina. Anyways, Daniel kisses the cook, gets Georgianna fired and then his mistress pushes him overboard for being more attracted to the cook. Yes, he is truly that arrogant, thoughtless and licentious.

So when Daniel washes up with no memory and claims he's already bedded Georgianna publicly, she is forced to claim him as her husband ahd in a bit of pettiness, puts him to work doing chores that involve a hen and a cow.

I really liked Georgianna, but Daniel was a tough nut to crack. He regains his memory and doles out his own form of revenge (not cool) and he only ever thinks of Georgianna as a mistress or lover. So he was pretty frustrating. So did i enjoy when Hettie the hen chased him? You bet I did.
Recommend.

I loved this book. I enjoyed the dynamics between Georgie and Daniel. Although there is an obvious attraction between them at first glance, there is a good balance between the steam and the relationship development between Georgianna and Daniel.

Georgiana is a headstrong and independent woman with a business as a chef. That brings up an aspect unique to this book: wonderful culinary and recipe-testing scenes. Georgianna’s family has a good place in the book. The tenderness between Georgianna's sisters and Daniel was touching. There are some amusing parts in the book that made me laugh. These funny scenes also add dimension to the characters and make us like them even more.

This book combines romance, fun, tenderness, and steamy scenes.

The book was very similar to Overboard in the beginning, and that is not a good movie for me, but the way the story was conducted made me change my review, when the main character recovers his memory, and the plot starts to be his own it was a marvelous book, I liked that he didn't make a big revenge out of it, they spend more time together and realized love was real, even with a mischievous beginning. I don't know if I'm reaching but sort of reminded me of Beauty and the Beast with a spin on it, in not a obvious way.

This is an entertaining, well-written, fast paced, steamy, historical romance novel. It has a likable, bold, creative and strong female protagonist, a kind and caring male protagonist, sizzling chemistry, wit, a touch of humor, engaging banter, a memorable celebratory dinner, and a happily ever after ending. This is the second entry in Ms. Reid's Unforgettable Love series and can be read and enjoyed as a stand alone. The glimpses of the characters and an event from the first entry have piqued my interest in reading this story. Many thanks to Entangled Publishing, Ms. Stacy Reid, and NetGalley, from whom I received an ARC of this wonderful novel.
