I am completely in awe!... I knew I was going to love this book because Stacy Reid wrote it and her characters open my heart with every sentence they speak or think
.
I loved these characters, especially Georgiana, from the beginning she is so true to herself and my heart broke for her fighting to give everything to her sisters but when she had to stand up for her place and be more of a schemer it was just so great
.
Lord Stannis took a couple of pages to warm me up, but as I turned the pages I was getting trapped in his head and wishing for a happy ending
.
Georgiana lives a difficult life after the death of her parents, having to keep her manor's accounts in order to take care of her three younger sisters and believes that luck is finally smiling on her when she receives the offer to cook for an important Lord and his guests on his yacht for three days
.
But she gets fired one day after work for having crossed the lord's mistress. Heartbroken for not having been able to earn all of her pay, Georgie returns to her village and four days later when she goes to see her cousin she meets him again
.
Only he doesn't remember anything, not even his own name but he do remember her and with very revealing details, to avoid a scandal Georgie say that he is her husband and then she takes the chance to get even
.
I enjoyed this book a lot like the previous ones by Stacy Reid that I read, I think that at this point she could write any plot and I would read it sure that it will leave me in love and speechless, those phrases and the way she writes what the characters feel really opens my heart to give them a place
.
Thanks to Stacy Reid and Entangled Publishing for give me a copy of this Beautiful book in exchange for my voluntary and honest opinion
This was a sweet re-imagining of Overboard, done in some swoony Stacy Reid style.
After an Earl who was cruel to Georgie falls off a yacht and washes up on the shore not far from her home. And starts spouting an inconvenient truth of remembering seeing her in his bed... Georgie has to think fast to save her and her sisters from ruin. So... she claims him as her husband. And luckily he can't remember any differently.
What follows is Daniel working on her family home and farm to make ends meet.. completely making her fall in love when she knows she has no claim on him.
This one was always going to have to be messy before it got better but I think Stacy Reid pulls it off quite well. Daniel starts off as so unlikable but he wins over, not only Georgie, but all of her sisters as well.
He also has quite the naughty mouth when he finally takes his "wife" to bed. I just wish we had more of them falling in love.
I enjoyed cameos from Simon and his lady and I look forward to more Unforgettable Love soon!
The book tells a story of Georgianna — a talented chef, and Daniel — a heartless aristocrat. The plot is basically Overboard in historical setting: in this scenario the hero, not the heroine, falls from a boat and loses his memory. In a series of unfortunate remarks and accusations from Daniel Georgie has to make him her fake husband to save her reputation. Well, and to make the cruel earl pay for how he treated her 😈
The original Overboard movie is a little cringy, but the author makes sure that in her story Georgie really has very little choice: lie or be ruined. Especially since it’s Daniel’s loose tongue that puts her reputation on the line in the fist place.
I adore Stacy Reid, A Matter Of Temptation is an all-time favourite. And this second instalment in the series didn’t disappoint! The story was engaging and kept me guessing how they will figure it out until the last moment. Mostly because of Daniel. For a good chunk of the book, he is not your typical book boyfriend. He is harsh, haughty and sees marriage only as a business alliance. That leads him to seriously hurt our Georgie a couple of times. I really wanted to strangle him on multiple occasions! If you go into this story expecting a hero like Simon from the first book — you’ll be disappointed. All that said, in the moments where he had no memory of his status, he showed his other side — a decent, honorable and loving person, a provider and protector for his family, and in those moments it’s hard not to fall in love with him.
Which is what Georgie didn’t expect! She is talented and passionate and caring, and she’s seen true love in the flesh. So it’s easy for her to fall in love, even if she doesn’t want or intend it. And I fell in love with her selflessness and integrity, with a splash of mischief 😉
And you have no idea how happy it made me to read a sneak-peek into Simon and Mina’s future! I adore both of them and can’t wait to see more of them in the next books!

Things have not been easy for the Heyford girls since the death of their father, but Georgianna Heyford is determined to keep the sisters together in the family home and she has a plan. She loves to cook and has been hired to cater a party for the Earl of Stannis, the payment for the job will shore up the family’s finances for the next year, but more importantly, she hopes the partygoers will love her food and hire her for future events. The job is going well and she is excited, but all that changes when a chance encounter with the earl ends with Georgianna being fired and sent away without being paid. Humiliated and angry Georgianna returns home, but fate seems to be playing with her when days later the earl is found washed up on the beach of her village. She goes to her cousin’s office, where he was taken, and learns that he has no memory of who he is, she is going to tell them who he is when he burst out that he knows her – intimately. Horrified and furious, Georgianna claims that he is her husband. Her cousin is sure that his memory will eventually return and demands that she take him with her. She resists at first, but then a new plan forms. She is going to make the earl work off his debt to her. What could possibly go wrong?
Daniel Rutherford, the Earl of Stannis, can’t believe that he has married Georgianna, but he also knows she is the other thing familiar to him. He knows something this wrong, but with no options, he goes along with Georgianna’s story. Soon he finds himself falling into his new life, and falling for his new “wife”. But when his memory returns, he is furious and burning for vengeance. He plans to make Georgianna pay for her deception, but you know what they say about the best-laid plans…
This was a well-written, fun Victorian twist on the movie “Overboard”. I love that movie and thoroughly enjoyed Stacy Reid’s retelling. The book is filled with lies, secrets, an arrogant hero who gets taken down a few pegs, an enterprising heroine, laugh-out-loud moments, steamy love scenes, great secondary characters, cameos from previous protagonists, a bit of heartache, and finally a HEA complete with an epilogue. I feel like for the most part, the author stayed true to the original plot, however, I would have been happier if Georgianna had been a widow because Daniel’s actions after recalling his memories left me feeling like he hadn’t really changed from the man he was at the beginning of the book. This is the second book in the series, but it could easily be read as a standalone title. Overall, this was a fun retelling with its own twist and hints to the next story, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to my fellow HR readers.

I was thoroughly entertained.
I have been a Stacy Reid fan since I discovered her "Wedded by Scandal" series (Evie and the Marquess of Westfall - FOREVER) - and was equally obsessed with her "Sinful Wallflowers" series. And she is not disappointing with her "Unforgettable Love" series. I am hooked on these characters (two Earls, a Marquess and a Duke make up on male leads).
This is a story starts with a case of mistaken identity (poor Georgianna). Then we end up with an Earl (Daniel) without any memory of who he is - but remembers enough to put poor Georgianna in a scandalous position. This all results in a fake marriage (Georgianna knows it's fake, Daniel does not) and a slow burn that get sizzling (Daniel really is living up to his reputation as being a libertine (wicked and lascivious). Basically - think of the movie "Overboard" - and set it in Victorian England. It was cute: slightly ridiculous - but it still worked. I enjoyed this story - and consumed it in one evening. Entertaining read with mains that I really was cheering for. Every time Daniel called Georgianna "wife"... it would give me all the feels.
This is book two in the "Unforgettable Love" series - I would say that the stories are standalones - except - previous characters do pop up (in this case Mina and Simon from "A Matter of Temptation" make a brief appearance) and usually there is something said that will tease the next book in the series (pretty sure the next book will be about the Marquess of Moncrieff and a scandal that involves a dual). So while you can absolutely read them out of order - I highly recommend reading them as Stacy Reid wrote them.
Recommended read. I highly enjoyed myself.
After loving the first book so much, I had very high hopes for this one but unfortunately I was high key disappointed. And part of it is my fault because if I had remembered that Lord Stannis was Simon’s rakish friend from the first book, I probably wouldn’t have picked this one up. Rake heroes are just something I prefer to not read about in my historical romances. I also wasn’t a fan of how the amnesia plot was executed because of all the deception and dishonesty. I get the reasoning behind it but it just made me feel kind of icky ? anyway those are just some personal pet peeves and I’d still recommend it to anyone who isn’t sensitive to these topics.
Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review!
I enjoyed this historical twist on the movie Overboard with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. It made it fun and interesting. Georgie and Daniel made for formidable characters with many sparks flying between them from the moment they made eye contact. I liked the twist that it was a rich man to lose his memory and the woman got to use his amnesia to her advantage after he shorted her the money he owed after firing her. Georgie's family were great. Very fun and entertaining novel.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for advanced copy, and I give my review freely
*I received this book for free in exchange of my HONEST opinion* (thank you NETGALLEY <3)
Book #2 in the Unforgettable Love series by Stacy Reid. Can be read as a standalone.
“If you want to explore forever, i am there” - 3.5/5
This book plays in the opposite attract and then hits us with amnesia. It was so fun! Daniel is a piece of work. He is mean. He is rude. He is too rich for no good reason. Georgie is a stereotypical eldest daughter who is always doing the most. It is a perfect combo. I would’ve liked Daniel to be more mad towards the end but it really comes to show how much he loved Georgie.
Historical Overboard! Alright!! I loved this book. I found it highly entertaining, laugh out loud funny and very sexy. When Hetty, the chicken, is chasing Daniel I about spit out my drink I laughed so hard thinking of an earl running away. Stacy’s writing is so precise and engaging it is hard to put down once you begin a story, especially this one. Daniel and Georgiana start out intense and that intensity runs throughout the story. I do wish there was more dialog but what they said was witty and engrossing. I am so glad to see a woman taking charge of her life and building a career. Food is the language of love.
THIS ONE IS SO CUTE!!!
Georgianna is the eldest daughter tasked with taking care of her three younger sisters and a manor that is withering away. Her hope is to become a renowned chef among the ton to support her family. Daniel is a capital R rake, hedonistic and opulent with a shrewd business acumen.
Georgie gets hired to cater a yacht party Daniel is throwing for his mistress. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding, things sour and Georgie is fired. When Daniel washes up on to Georgie's town of little consequence with amnesia & memories of fucking her, she is forced to lie and say they are wedded. Georgie continues the charade as Daniel still owes her the payment for her catering at the yacht party.
The premise is inspired by Overboard, which I have not seen.
Daniel is swoon-worthy. A lot of times you read about a character that's described as ruthless and then they turn out to be just a regular standoffish person. Unlike Daniel, who truly felt cunning. Maybe because even when he is living as a regular person, he is snobbish and knows innately that he is above all that regular life has to offer. I loved that he always knew what he wanted and never hesitated or moaned about anything for too long. Georgie was also great! Her relationship with Lizzie was endearing. Her coming to terms with the fact that she can share her responsibilities was a fantastic arc for her character. Even though she is lying throughout the most of the book to Daniel, you don't feel like she is acting out of line or being manipulative, which is tough to pull off with premises like this one.
I also adored that both the main characters had a loving family. Too many times, the main character is developed with sordid upbringings and it's so refreshing to read where neither of the characters are burdened with childhood trauma.
As always, Stacy Reid's explicit writing always delivers.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Absolutely loved and devoured this book! I didn’t care for the first book in this series so I was hoping this one would be better and it absolutely was.
Georgiana dreams of being a chef and has an opportunity to make her dreams on the yacht party of Daniel, the Earl of Stannis. Unfortunately her dreams are crushed due to a misunderstanding and she is fired. Due to more unfortunate events, the Earl loses his memories and Georgiana has a plan for revenge.
I was so intrigued by the plot as I love when there is a secret or some deception to uncover. Georgiana dug herself into a hole by again, unfortunate events, to save her reputation. They had this sizzling chemistry from the start. I found their romance to be incredibly sweet and passionate. They had a wonderful enemies to lovers romance.
I loved how Daniel was with Georgiana and her sisters as well. He was so sweet with them and protective. They really all formed a bond even with the deception lingering. I pretty much read this book whenever I could as I couldn’t get enough and wanted to see how things played out. The ending was very satisfying.
I think this is one of my favorite reads from Stacy Reid and I can’t wait to read the next book.

He’d not known who she was when their eyes had locked across the deck of his yacht, but Daniel Rutherford, the jaded Earl of Stannis, had been desperately tempted by her simple beauty and lush curves. And then she’d been in his cabin, and he’d assumed… Walking in on them his mistress had thrown a tantrum, demanded he’d fire the chit. He’d declared it was time for them to part ways as well, and then she pushed him overboard…
She’d known of the man’s reputation as a wicked libertine when accepting to cater his lavish event, but Georgianna Heyford, a country gentleman’s daughter, didn’t have the luxury to refuse. She needed the money to take care of her sisters, and besides, what better way to launch her career as a chef? It had been perfection until the unimaginable happened: a misunderstanding, a lover’s spat and she had been dismissed with barely a recompense and crushed dreams.
When a few days later a handsome stranger washes up on her village’s shore, she’s horrified. He’s lost his memory, yet he claims to know her. Desperate to avoid scandal, she claims the dashing earl as her husband. Revenge! He could work off his debt to her… but the man behind the rake slowly worms his way into her heart. Could she let him? One day he would remember…
📚 This tale was utterly predictable, but incredibly charming and romantic. Well-paced, colourful descriptions (do not read this book when hungry!), ever building tension resulting in delicious steam, and full of humour, warmth and family. I really like the way their relationship evolves. And his memory returns in time for them to work it out without being rushed. This was a fun and entertaining page-turner! Go check it out!
📚 Amnesiac rake, chef heroine, fake marriage, class difference, forced proximity, instant attraction, steamy, open door, my wife
Thank you to Stacy Reid, Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC! All opinions are entirely my own.
"An Earl To Remember" was a fairly quick read and generally pretty interesting. It's more of a Victorian romance than a Regency one, and a central underlying issue is that of a woman's right to own property and have a bank account, etc., in her own name. The heroine (h) lives in genteel poverty with her three younger sisters after the deaths of their parents, and when the money runs out, she must find a job. She decides to be a chef, and contracts to cater a party on the Hero's (H) yacht. The two meet, then the H loses his memory in an accident and by a streak of Providence, ends up employed by the h. Hijinks ensue from there....
I'm going to ignore the idea of consent in this review because that is more modern concept, but if the thought of being tricked into an intimate relationship with someone who does not know their right mind bothers you, then this is definitely not the book for you. The duplicity of the heroine did lead me to deduct one star from her for this reason.
Overall, though, I thought the book to be interesting and well-paced, although there were a few inconsistencies that kept me from giving this one a full 5 stars. For instance, female chefs were few and far between in the early-to-mid 19th century, whereas almost every young girl learned to do laundry, sew, embroider, crochet, etc. Approximately 1% of all caterers in 1870's America were women - I am guessing England/the UK to be similar. Deciding to be a catering chef to earn money that is direly and urgently needed seems to me to be a less sure-fire way to earn money than would taking in laundry or sewing, and then to get your first job as said caterer/chef, sight and skills unseen, to a prominent member of the nobility? Credibility was stretched thin enough to see through this particular premise, and since it formed a major pillar of the book, the entire novel was weaker for it.
In another instance, our h allegedly learned to cook both Chinese and Indian dishes from her mother. However, in the early part of the 19th century, both cultures were looked down upon by the majority of British citizens, including their choices of food and meal preparation, as being "barabaric." There is no explanation of how her mother came by these recipes, so to include them seems a bit...anachronistic, maybe. If the character of the mother had been fleshed out more to show why she would go against the major cultural opinions of her time, it would've made more sense.
Other minor flaws: a meal was prepared with 5 dishes on one page, and on the next page the same meal had 9 courses. Not sure if it that's a typo, or just something the editor didn't catch! Either way, there were enough small issues that defied common sense without explanation, that it did turn me off somewhat from the story.
The major flaw to me, though, is the H. I liked him when he didn't have his memory, but he was inconsistent and best and cruel at worst when he DID have his memories. Amnesia generally only affects a person's most recently formed memories - not their entire personality. So, while I don't mind a good trope well-employed, such was not the case in this instance.
I did like the supporting characters, and appreciated the dialogue as flowing naturally. There is only one significant sex scene in the book, with both explicit action and language, and a few other minor intimate scenes. On a one to five scale, I rate each of the specific parts of the book as follows:
Hero - 3/5 stars
heroine - 4/5 stars
Supporting characters - 4/5 stars
World building - 4/5 stars
Dialogue - 5/5 stars
Plot - 3/5 stars
Sex - 4/5 stars
TOTAL: A solid 4 stars
Pacing - 5/5 stars
There is some frank/rough language, although not a great deal. I would read other books by this author even though this one did not rank high on the list of favorites for me. I think there is potential, but some major plot points were weak enough to only earn 4 stars from me.
I was given an Advanced Reader's Copy (ARC) to review and these opinions are my own.
I just have to say one thing... The Earl of Stannis is as hilarious as equally infuriating.
I laughed and I got annoyed so many times with him that the title is justifiable.
He is definitely an Earl to Remember.
We met him in the previous book but I wouldn't believe that he would be such a delightful character.
The banter between him and Georgiana was refreshing and really really witty.
I think this story is 5 stars but Daniel annoyed me so much sometimes that I thought to stop reading.
Thank you @netgalley for the copy!
I honestly don't remember the last time a historical romance leading man made me feel this strongly about him - and not in a good way. Overall, I loved An Earl to Remember; I loved the premise, I loved Georgianna and her sisters, I loved that little insight into what's currently going on with our main characters from the first book in the series. But Daniel? When he wasn't talking dirty, I didn't find him all that lovable. I'm glad Georgianna did, and I'm glad their chemistry was evident, but - without going into any details that might spoil part of the plot - Daniel actually did something about halfway through that I generally find deplorable and inexcusable in a historical romance hero that I'm supposed to be routing for.
All that being said, Georgianna, her sisters, and the overall plot and premise definitely get a 4.5 stars from me. But Daniel, whose only redeeming trait for the first half of the book is the fact that he can't remember who he is, gets a 3.5 stars and brings my overall book rating down to a solid four out of five.
I truly enjoyed the plot of this book. Georgianna did what she had to in order to get what was owed to her, and I loved that tenacity. And Georgianna's sisters were just the sort of found family that Daniel really needed to give him some sort of redeemable storyline. Reid's writing is fun and easy to lose yourself in, so even when Daniel was going about being his rakish self, the book was a quick read and it didn't take long to reach that happy ending for both main characters.
An Earl to Remember can easily be enjoyed as a standalone; the brief character interlude from the previous book's main characters add to Daniel's story, but doesn't detract if you haven't met them yet. I adored the passion and tenacity of Georgianna, and can't wait to see what female empowerment we get in Stacy Reid's next historical romance.
An Overboard retelling with some twists along the way!
Stacy Reid is at it again folks! This is a hilarious, sweet, swoon-worthy tale with an incredible cast and great writing; of course it is, because Stacy never lets us down.
Overboard (the original with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russel obviously) is one of my favorite classic romcoms, and so I was a little worried this book wouldn’t do it justice. However, the plot takes the best elements of the movie and then does something unique with them while honoring the classic! It’s cooky and wild and I am here for it!
Also, the main characters are so good. Georgie and Daniel have great chemistry.
Highly recommend pretty much anything by Stacy Reid that I’ve ever read, and this goes right alongside all those books on the shelf! You won’t be disappointed.
Star Rating: 4/5
Tropes: Amnesia, fake relationship
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
An Earl to Remember starts with an Earl I'd like to forget from when he was introduced in a previous book!
Daniel Rutherford, Earl of Stannis, is a jaded, egotistical, hedonistic man who cares for nothing but his money and power.! His interactions with others are curt and unfeeling and he has no evident redeeming qualities. Despite my dislike, I read on because the Heroine, Georgianna Heyford, was a such a interesting character. A talented cook who dreams of being a caterer to the ton who is unselfishly raising her 3 younger sisters after her parents' death. She seems too perfect a character but after being unjustly dismissed from a catering job we find that she is not above turning an embarrassing situation into a recipe for revenge. Great plot twist and a satisfying comeuppance for the Earl even though he has no idea.
The amnesia trope is not one that I would say is a favorite but with Stacy Reid's character driven plot line she takes the reader on a journey that gives up a glimpse into the souls of Daniel and Georgianna. His is stripped back to the core revealing a compassionate and considerate man while hers is tortured by guilt as she watches the man, she hates, turn into a man she could love.
As in all good amnesia plots, he regains his memory, as portrayed in a believable manner, and remembers his former life. Unfortunately, he reverts completely to his former self, jaded and commanding. Yuck!!
This is my 3rd Stacy Reid book so I should know that she will do something unexpected and unpredictable to bring her characters to their happy ending and this book does not disappoint. She was bold in creating such a unlikeable Earl but in the end, between the depth of characters, the plot line and the fantastic storytelling, it is a book that will touch your heart.
The book (reminiscent of the 80s movie, Overboard) starts with Georgianna catering a luxurious yacht party for Daniel Heyford, Earl of Stannis, who is rumored to be a notorious rake and seducer. However, things go wrong when an incident finds her fired and then to make matters worse, she doesn’t get paid for her work and she needs the money to support her younger sisters. She vows to get revenge on the earl, but fate has other plans for her.
The next day, Georgie finds the earl washed ashore on the beach near her cottage, with no memory of who he is or what happened to him. She decides to take advantage of his amnesia and convinces him that he is her husband, a poor fisherman named Daniel Heyford. She makes him work hard to pay off his debt to her and to help her with her sisters. She also hopes to teach him a lesson about humility and kindness.
However, as they spend more time together, Georgianna starts to fall for the earl, who proves to be sweet, gentle, attentive and they have some very spicey bedroom scenes. He also begins to remember flashes of his past life, but he doesn’t want to leave Georgie, and her sisters, who have become his family AND the highly amusing Hettie the Hen and Matilda the Cow. He also fears that if he regains his memory, he will lose Georgie’s love.
Will their love survive the truth? Will the earl remember his identity and his past? Will Georgianna forgive him for his deception? You’ll have to read the book to find out! An Earl to Remember is a fun, sexy, and heartwarming story that will keep you entertained from start to finish. I voluntarily read & reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book; all thoughts & opinions are my own.
Stacy Reid has done it again!
My first historical romance (with spice!) read was written by Stacy Reid and I've been captivated by her stories ever since. Her heroines are witty and most importantly, have a backbone. They are the motivation for the male leads to undergo character development, and capture their hearts eventually.
An Earl to Remember is an enjoyable read about a young lady named Miss Georgianna Eleanor Heyford, who works on a yacht as a chef for Daniel Rutherford, known for his promiscuous ways. It does not go well to say the least, and we end up with an Overboard situation,
Now my thoughts about the book! This was a solid 3.5 - 4 star read for me, Simon's visible rakishness was a bit offputting and I did not like him at the beginning at all. Fully supported Georgianna on getting her revenge, But he eventually warmed up to me, and the family dynamics were so sweet! I like the amnesia plot, so this book was a lovely, easy read, The spicy scenes were quite well done, and paired with the banter and teasing, it really worked!
Thank you Stacy Reid, Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for providing an ARC.
Overboard is one of my favorite movies and this retelling did not disappoint. I came for the laughs and was given a great set up, fleshed side characters, hilarity and heart.
