2.75 stars. This book has a really interesting premise for a good time romance book, but it just tries to do too much in not enough time. Trying to tackle 2/3 big romance tropes in less than 300 pages didn't work for me. We never really lingered in the moment to feel the tension or connection building between the characters.

This book had it all for me and that was it. I had to read this to see what it was all about. I was not disappointed and enjoyed the content. Enjoyed this book. I want to find more of her books.

This was a fun read! Perfect for a summer beach read. I found Summers writing witty and playful. All this things you want in a summer read and I would definitely pick up another in the series. I thought the treasure hunt added an extra element that made this more playful than your typical beach read. If you are looking for a solid read with a fun main couple, this is a great book for you. Also, poor Aiden & Lola. Both of our main characters have understandably sworn off love at the beginning of this book and I loved their annoyance with each other instead of insta-love. It was fun to go from insta-lust to grumpy/grumpy and then to watch them find love. A nice twist on the typical story line.

This one has got tropes for everyone. A lot happened in so few pages. Nerdy guy ends up with a surfer what’s not to love? An enjoyable read that has total beach/ summer vibes with cleverly placed sarcasm. OH & a Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo reference is always a fun time.

I want to start off by saying this book is part of a series and I hadn't read any of the other books but it was also good as a standalone. If you enjoy a good beach read this one is for you! I loved reading how the two characters grew and how their story unfolded. It's the perfect book for a quick read to get away from everything. I would definitely
recommend this!

Such a cute and fun read. A perfect take to the beach or park for the day and sit back and relax and enjoy.

Beach Please is the latest romance by Melanie Summers. It is about a woman named Lola, who is desperately trying to get her life back on track after having her boyfriend at the time steal all her money and Aidan, who moved to another country to try to escape from all the reminders of his brother stealing his fiancé. They team up together to help each other out and end up falling for one another.
I really liked Lola and Aidan’s characters and was rooting for them from the very beginning. I recommend Beach Please to anyone who is looking for a sweet island romance. I do wish that it was a bit more funny, especially with a title like Beach Please.

This was a cute story , I loved watching Lola and Aidan' grow . Luckily even t hough this is apart of a series it can be read as a stand alone because I didnt read any of the other books nor did I know of them I will go back and read. This finding love after crappy experiences is one of my fav tropes.

Another cute story by Melanie Summers! Beach Please has a good cast of characters - some new, some familiar from her previous novels. I enjoyed the cute banter between the two leads. I did think the ending was rushed, but it all tied together nicely in true Melanie Summers fashion.

Aww such a cute love story. Aiden moves to the island when he catches his brother and fiancé in bed together. Betrayal! Then they have the nerve to expect him to be happy for them! Lola is in foreclosure when her boyfriend takes all her money, forcing her business to sink. Aiden discover that Lola is more important to him than anything and sets off to make sure she is happy. Ultimate sacrifices for the ones we love!

The Prefect Summer Read!
I was so excited to read this book and it was the perfect choice. It follows Aidan and Lola as they have their meet cute, and it turns into a fake relationship to love. I loved these two characters so much. They brought grumpy, sunshine, humor, and chemistry not to mention a treasure hunt. I immensely enjoyed this book.
I recommend this book for a fun quick read and a great getaway from your day-to-day life. You find yourself smiling, rooting for the underdog, and laughing out loud quite a few times

🌴Forced Proximity

I enjoyed this book so much. A closed door perfect beach read that I read in one sitting! I loved the main characters and Aidan is such a great guy who has gone through so much, as is Lola's messed up life. A sweet story - one that I recommend for all to enjoy.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

While I understand that it is not always the case, when I choose to read closed-door romance, I expect them to--- well, not necessarily be squeaky clean... but there are certain expectations about language and such. In that even those that do have some bad language, it's generally kept mild--- not to include the f-word or use of the Lord's name in vain, etc. Again, I realize this is not always going to be the case, but it is my personal expectation in the books I typically read. As such, I was a little surprised at the language in this one--- to include multiple uses of the f-word. That may be fine for many readers, but it not my personal preference, and not one as such I would recommend to my readers as they also tend to prefer more mild language if any at all.

Aside from that, this seemed like it would be an enjoyable summer read. It was well-written and a fun premise... but like I said, just turned out not to be my cup of tea.... but could certainly be a fit for readers who enjoy RomComs and don't mind that content.

**I received a complimentary copy for consideration. All opinions are my own.

Lola and Aiden had great chemistry. Each of them has sworn off love after being badly burned.
I love the small community of Paradise Bay. Summers writes witty banter causing me to laugh out loud multiple times! The rom-com has it all-forced proximity, a fake relationship and two characters fighting their attraction to each other. I read it in one day!!

What a great summer reading (or anytime really) mini-escape romcom! I really enjoyed both the lead characters…Aidan had me laughing from the very first page. There’s something about a man belting out Abbas the Winner Takes it All that makes me smile, even though his ‘backstory’ is nothing short of excruciatingly painful. And Lola is full of sunshine positivity, even though her life is basically a disaster courtesy of a con-man.

Beach Please has some of my fav tropes like one bed and fake dating, and the ‘treasure’ hunting with clues was fun to read about too.

Thanks NetGalley and Melanie Summers for an ARC copy. All thoughts are mine and not impacted by receiving an ARC.

Such a fun return to the Benevente Islands and of course our favorite characters from the Paradise Bay Resort. Always a great summer read, an escape from reality. Both Lola and Aiden are recovering from devastating breakups and rely on each other for big favors. No one is surprised when they become romantically involved, but it’s still a fun ride to get there!

Thank you Netgalley and Melanie Summers for access to this arc.

By now I’m pretty sure what I’m going to get when I read one of these “Paradise Bay” books – light, breezy, (mostly) fun. There will be a little angst, some realization of what a character truly wants from life but, really nothing too heavy. In fact, these are perfect beach reads.

Usually I’m not that great a fan of the fake-dating trope but here it was not being done for inheritance reasons and over fairly quickly. It also gave Aiden and Lola a chance to see the other as they really are. Eek. Aiden’s a neat freak while Lola adores her throw cushions, potted plants, bathroom clutter … In a moment of frustration Lola says something to her best friend over the phone which Aiden happens to hear. Points that she womans up and admits it was a terrible thing to say and offers a true apology. With the air cleared, they continue the week of fake dating and realize that the other is actually a nice person.

As they begin to work on Lola’s part of their bargain, it’s fairly clear that they’re already halfway in love. Aiden’s determination to help Lola rob her own store (it’s complicated) and hers to keep him from the risk of prison time should they get caught (stop arguing, you two and just go break in!) totally gives it away before they succumb to the hot sex.

As with the previous series books, I knew that there would be another twist or two and there is. Actually, I liked said twists but thought that either the PI Lola hired was an idiot or in cahoots with The Dirtbag. Kudos for having Lola and Aiden work out their issues before attempting to get back together. I liked the way Lola is able to save her shop but I think the next few family reunions with Aiden’s family might be a bit awkward. Just saying.

Well, this was adorable from start to finish.

Lola is about to lose everything she has worked so hard for. Her ex took of with all her money, causing her surf shop/surf school to shut down and it’s about to go up for auction.
She meets Aidan on trivia-night, her way to pay for her bills, and brings him home as he is crazy drunk, drinking away his feelings after the worst call from his brother on his own birthday.

Lola needs a favour, and so does Aidan and they decide to help each other out. And it was so cute and funny from start to finish! Perfect little romcom for the summer

Melanie Summers books always filled me with joy. I love the way she writes her characters and puts them in incredible circumstances. Everyone is usually funny even if they're going through something difficult. Aiden and Lola's stories are no exception. Aiden's story sucks and makes him such a sympathetic character who we root for. Lola's circumstances at the beginning of the book are also dire but she forcing a sunshine's personality until she knows for sure the outcome. This one is a little too perfectly wrapped up for me to enjoy it as much as I did some of the others but it's still a great beach read for summertime. The relationship is definitely fun and flirty and full of banter and makes them both a joy to read.

Description: Lola Gordon was on the brink of losing her surf shop when her ex disappeared along with all the money in their business account. The bank is scheduled to auction her shop and everything in it, in six weeks. Lola is desperate to find a solution and save her shop.
When Lola hears about a treasure hunt, she knows it’s her last chance to save her future. There’s only one problem, she needs a boat.
Enter Aiden Clark a man who is trying to start over in Paradise Bay after discovering his ex-finance cheated on him with his brother. Aiden swears off serious relationships and wants nothing more than to be left alone. So, when his parents’ worry drives them to visit and look for a home near him, Aiden must act like he’s fine or his parents will never go back home.
Aiden tells Lola he’ll give her the boat she needs if he agrees to pretend to be his live-in girlfriend.
As adventures are had, lines become blurred, and their hearts heal, and true happiness awaits.
Beach Please is the read of the Summer!!
I’ve loved the Paradise Bay series but Beach Please is my favorite.
Lola’s caring and positive outlook shines despite everything she’s going through. Her lack of bitterness and unwavering belief in herself to win the treasure hunt will have you cheering her on, despite the incredible odds of failure.
Aiden is the sweetest guy! His broken heart has him swearing off serious relationships and hoping to find casual hookups while he heals. You’ll want to punch his brother in the face for causing Aiden so much pain.
Lola is more of a free spirit while Aiden has more of a type A personality. Their differences are a perfect balance making them perfect for each other.
The story is filled with so many scenes that made me LOL, making me love the character even more. And the closed-door heat was done perfectly!
When Aiden realizes how much Lola means to him the lengths, he’s willing to go for her will melt your heart.
