There’s always something about a second-chance romance that gets me. I liked reading this book, but it didn’t really captivate me.

Thanks to netgalley, the publisher and the author for the arc of this book.

A beautifully crafted story filled with love and laughter. One cannot but warm to the theme of first love and the changes to come in the characters Charles and Laura and their circumstances in the ensuing years.
There is a sensitive analysis of relationships without losing the intensity that such a romance can bring. The main characters are believable and the author never gets too sentimental about them. Charles and Laura have their flaws and for reasons (you need to read the book) have allowed the chance of happiness to slip by.

Lovely book with genuinely lovely characters. Never any of this authors books before, but I will definitely be a loyal reader in the future!

I loved this book. Such a fun back and forth in time and the exact resolution I was hoping for. I do wish we were clued in to their meeting with their daughter a drop more.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishers and of course the author for gifting me this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this story and the premise that two peoples lives can be intertwined forever after a chance encounter when paths cross. The emotion throughout kept me reading more and faster and the book covers some difficult aspects of grief and loss as well as having key elements of joy and happiness.

Admittedly, I hadn't read anything by Mendelson before this so I was unsure what to expect. His writing is elegant and ... poetic? I thought the character development and. plot were both well thought-out and I loved the second chance romance aspect. A lovely read overall!

I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.

First off, I would like to say that my opinion is simply that, my own opinion. Unfortunately, I did not finish this book. I wish I could explain what it is that held me back, but the book did not catch my attention from the beginning. I usually believe that a book that suits you, should grip your attention quite soon. however, as mentioned before, my opinion does not define the book. I do hope other have taken a liking to this story.

thank you to netgalley and the author for sending me the book in exchange for an honest review.

I had a hard time getting into this book. It did get better partway through, though.

Enjoyed it!

this was not for me. The whole writing style was not my thing so I could barely get through this book for this reason. I’m sure if you like the style, you’d like the book as well so take that into consideration with this review..

I really wanted to like this story - the idea of reexamining and reconnecting teenage love, but it just seemed to drag for me. Unfortunately this was a DNF for me.

Going back to a teenage romance is the best! I read this by the pool mostly and it was good for that setting. If you like character-driven over plot-driven you will enjoy this! I also think fans of Sally Rooney - especially Normal People will enjoy how Paul Mendelson tells the story of Charlie and Laura.

This was a lovely easy read that follows an author who has written about their first dalliance with love whilst on an exchange in the USA.
This story 'The forever moment' is what brings him fame and he does a book tour including in the states. This tour and one of the people on his tour reminds him of that first love and his reason for writing the forever moment.
Character wise, I can't work out if I like the Author Charlie Dickens or not. I don't think people really pine over someone that much. I felt a little sad that he hadn't been able to move on in 22 years. Seems a lot over one person they had known three weeks. Very fairy-tale like. More fantasy than real life.
Because of that I wasn't as engaged. The female characters didn't feel believable in the way they were. The male characters felt shallow.
However, I did think that the story had legs, the premise and some of the twists were fun, the idea was nice so I have scored a three. All in all is this is an easy to consume book that is light-hearted and fun.
Thank you to Netgally for the ARC.

I truly hate giving books a bad review, because I know they are so personal to the authors and represent so much hard work.

I was excited for a book set in my home state of Kentucky and the book alternates back in time, which is a favorite of mine. That being said, this was not the book for me. The characters were both unlikeable and the plot uninteresting. The first 70% really dragged in, while the last 30%, that was more interesting, felt rushed.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this advanced reader copy.
