Well that was just so damn cute!

Hazel and Alex are the kind of end game couple that you can only dream about. They're best friends, but Alex is madly in love with Hazel, and everyone except Hazel seems to know it.

I loved that this book is just so wholesome. The characters are sweet, Alex is an absolute dream, and the story is fun.

This is the third book in the series, and while it says you can read it as a standalone, I would've enjoyed it a bit more more if I had realised, and read the first two. I found some bits were a bit confusing. Time seemed to jump a bit sporadically, and a lot of character building was completely skipped over. I'm assuming that that is because it was already established in the first two books!

Despite that, this is an absolutely gorgeous romcom. It's fun, cute and total couple goals. Follow the suggested reading order and read this one third! Perfect for fans of romcoms and friends to lovers.

💫 10/10 swoony stars. Alex + Hazel’s story is the sweetest and perfect for the hopeless romantic! All the best parts of a rom-com are present and there are Jane Austen references (justice for Emma ! ) sprinkled throughout. Alex pines in beautifully written prose and Hazel is obliviously endearing. It’s definitely the best friends-to-lovers book I have ever read.

It’s part of a series but can definitely be read as a stand-alone. Series readers will get fun pop-ins from previous characters but it won’t distract a stand-alone reader.

You will be left laughing and swooning after this book 🥰 It’s basically your favorite cozy coffee shop drink in book format.

If you are looking for an easy, yet adorable friends to lovers read, then this is the book for you. Hazel and Alex have the cutest friendship ever, and Alex is so sweet to Hazel. The two characters are very relatable. I wish we got a tiny bit more intro into their friendship in its beginning stages rather than jumping right into it after the second chapter, but the book was still a great read. I look forward to reading more from this author!

* I took a while to get through this book and I think it’s two things that can be attributed to that. Firstly, I’ve had a pretty busy month and so it was difficult to get through any books. Secondly, I wasn’t really motivated to read this book to begin with. The first half felt very slow and quite typical.
* Having said that, once I got into the rhythm of the book, I’ve realised I actually had a change in opinion about this book.
* Not every book is about a broody, enemies to lovers with loads of angst and although that tends to be my preference, I surprisingly loved the golden retriever, friends-to-lovers that came about through Hazel and Alex. Especially because it was a slower burn that left some form of anticipation.
* I haven’t read any of the other books in the series so this was a complete standalone moment for me and the author did really well to keep the story easy to understand without grasping too much on her previous plot lines in the series.
* Now to Alex, the man who deserves the absolute world. He has an absolute dedication towards Hazel and making sure everything is comfortable for her (In other words, it’s giving “she’s everything, he’s just Ken” vibes). Usually I’m not a big fan of friends to lovers but Alex made me surprisingly love it! He was a great golden retriever type without being too much of a pushover and supports Hazel through her insecurities of starting a new relationship.
* I loved the concept of the book, that started with the blind dates until there’s finally a moment of realised feelings, which for this story is at the latter end of the book. However, because of this I was found myself wanting the pace to pick up and once I got to the latter half, I enjoyed the book a lot more.
* A sweet read and focuses on the friendship blooming to a relationship (also minimal spice, so may be perfect for younger readers)

this book is a 3.75 stars reads!!
i loved the friendship between alex and hazel and the way they both loved each other so much and how they were so scared of telling their feelings but deep down knowing that they were meant for each other and that they couldn’t live without the other!!
I love how different Alex and hazel are but at the same time how equal they are. The way they know each other so well and know when one is not okay and what they need to do to make them better and how jealous they get when they one of them with another person.
I also loved the friendship between alex and cam and lucy and hazel !! there were a lot of funny moments! this was a good chiché read.
I really liked this book snd the side characters.

This friends to lovers book was SO sweet. I loved being able to see Hazel and Alex's friendship from the beginning and seeing their relationship develop throughout the book as they both realize they have feelings for each other. I also ABSOLUTELY loved the side characters and the Wes & Lo appearances. The whole vibe of this book was just so cozy, but also deeper on a different level where we see Hazel work through her pain of past relationships and how she navigates really moving on from those and realizing who she is and that she is worthy of having someone love her.

You know when you read a book and it just feels so wholesome?
This is that book!

Hazel and Alex's relationship is so cute from start to finish. It's an easy and fun read, which I happen to have read in a day. I don't usually read friends to lovers, but this was done very well and realistically. All characters were likeable and relatable. I would however have wanted to see more depth in the story and characters, but that's more a personal preference of emotional damage than anything else..

So if you want a non toxic rom-com, this ones for you!

This books was so cute and just feel good. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. They try and set each other up with other with dates but end up falling for each other anyways.

I loved this book but when I started reading it I didn't realise it was the 3rd book in a series so now I need to go back and read the other two books!

I love the friends to lovers trope too so it was perfect!

This was a cute friends-to-lovers story! Alex and Hazel have been friends for a while and he’s loved her from the start, but the timing has never been right. She wants to start dating people and he wants to show her he’s the ONE ❤️ cute storytelling and quirky characters made this a quick read for me.
Read if you like:
-slow burn
-closed door but still swoony
-he falls first
-dual POV

This was the perfect friends-to-lovers romance! I just loved Alex and the way he is the perfect book boyfriend. Overall the pacing was also really great and the best thing ever was that there was no real third act breakup since they took forever to get together.

I don’t know if this was just wrong timing for me but I just found this a little slow. I appreciated getting to see Alex and Hazel as friends and the chemistry was there so I just wanted more of them as a couple but this is a VERY slow burn. I liked the little character growth from Hazel as she allows herself to fall in love again and Alex is a dreamy guy but I just felt a little underwhelmed.

Thank you for my eARC of this book. I hadn’t realised this was a 3rd in a series so read them first. Vernal I enjoyed the whole series as well as this book. It’s an easy read romance and a classic style, sweet romance

This book was too cute, and I didn’t want to put it down! It did start off a bit slow, but once it picked up I really enjoyed it!

Overall, I did enjoy the story of Alex and Hazel. I love the friends to lovers trope, and the fact that he falls first makes it for me! I felt that the love between them was pure and genuine. However, the reason why I only gave the story 3 stars, is that I got a bit confused at the beginning with all the text messages back and forth (hard for me to keep track of the timeline). Also, I felt that some scenes in the book weren't totally needed and it dragged a bit. I'm excited to read more books by this author and these are my own thoughts/opinions.

First of all, I'm OBSESSED with this cover omg!!!! 😍

Second of all, this was such a sweet story! I've always been a friends-to-lovers girly, and I thought Alex and Hazel's story was full of everything I love about this trope!

The two main characters were wonderful and endearing, and I really loved the way their friendship translated into romance. Their chemistry was fantastic and I was fully invested in their love story from the very beginning. I loved the supporting cast and getting to see the couples from the previous books in this series was super fun!

I think my favorite thing about this book was the vibes. Madison's writing is so lush and captured the sun-soaked summer essence so well. The motif of the butterflies was wonderful and all around made for a really great reading experience. This is definitely my new favorite from Madison Wright, and I can't wait to see what's next from her!

Thank you so much to the author for the complementary review copy!

Madison Wright knows what she’s doing when it comes to writing romance 😍

Her books are absolutely amazing to read. My favorite trope is friends to lovers because I feel like that makes their love grow strong and deep. I love the way all the men in her books care for the women they love. It’s safe to say any book that Madison Wright writes I will pick up 🥰

Tropes:
Fake dating
Best friends to lovers
Slow burn
He falls first

Thank you Madison Wright, NetGalley, and the publishers for my honest review.

I enjoyed the small town romance & love the friends to lovers trope. I did feel like it was one-sided of who wanted the relationship… but it grew on me overtime. I enjoyed Hazel and Alex together, but felt pretty predictable. Light and enjoyable closed door romance read!
