This novel was a great read in the Thea Grove series. Thea is off to solve another case that is affecting the "war" between humans and shifters. She will have to look into the past to stop the potential destruction this weapon will do. But with so much animosity against the shifters, Thea cannot rely on the police and must resort to other measures. Thea is resourceful, but even she needs help. Marcus tries to help, but someone is draining his powers and his clan is in a panic. There are a few players involved, from the enemies Thea now has due to Harlan's death and the mysterious Arbiter, she has her work cut out for her. Sometimes you need to make a deal with the devil to save those you love and prevent an all out war. I enjoyed the suspense and the mystery in the novel and of course, Thea kicking some a$$.

Loved reading the entertaining and engaging paranormal story. Thea tries to solve the dark elves invasion and find a cure for Marcus's draining power. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written full of suspense and intrigue, and a must read riveting story.

The author of this book had a great writing style. The imagery was clear and easy to follow. However, the plot of this book was very difficult to follow. For starters I often felt I was missing a lot of information. There were many references to things that had not previously been mentioned and were not explained. The descriptions of the different clans and creatures were lacking and hard to understand. I often felt like I had no idea what clans could do or the differences between them. Lastly, there were many things that were mentioned but then forgotten and quickly brought up at the end. The Viranshirs for example were a key element to the beginning of the plot but then randomly disappeared only to be brought up at the end and quickly dispelled. I do not think that this quick end matched the beginning of the book. I can see where the author was trying to go and what they were trying to accomplish however I do not believe it was communicated well. Other than the confusing elements and lack of important information, I think the book has a great vision, just needs a few plot changes or edits.
