Being raised in a conservative household, sex was a taboo subject, and the church taught that it was only for procreation, not pleasure. Which can be very hard to work past, when it's been ingrained in you for years. This book is eye-opening, empowering, and so much more. At first, it felt a bit odd to read about Kagan's adventures and how they changed her. But everything was masterfully related to chakras and spirituality, and I soon found myself curious as to what the next story would bring. A great read overall!
This book was original. It reminded me of mama Gena’s book pussy. There was a lot of different things that I felt like were unique about this book, but the most unique was the ability of the author to really explore different sensitivities through sexual activity. She gave every woman an opportunity to view their sexual experiences through another prism, one that explored self discovery, fantasy, and reality.
The framework of mojo, is an interesting one. I enjoyed the urban and city girl outlook of sex with lots of wellness and mystical elements attached to each chapter.
this book truly was meant to be experienced. And because of that, it can be a resource to women everywhere. It has lots of factoids, connections and unexpected goodies.
Overall fresh expression of sexuality and self-discovery. And the book is SPICY!
This book is written for women by a woman who goes to the extent of firmly establishing her author/reader bond with a device of a talking vulva. By the way, not the first to grace pages, as early as the 18th century the French thinker Diderot built a novel on talking vulvas and in the 20th century the novelist Tina McElroy Ansa gave voice to a vulva in The Hand I Fan With. What I’m questioning is the staking of gender territory based on at least one book cover edition’s photo of a nude woman with the title Undressed, surely to attract several male gazes. Are those men under obligation to bring this knowledge to other women or to keep quiet that trespassing in the garden?
Whatever your gender, there are seven saucy sections, more accurately, they’re sexually graphic, as intended as part of Kagan’s holistic approach to feminine self-care and empowerment of confidence. Each of the seven sections, reflective of Centers, solely intended for women, contains exercises, physical and spiritual—meditations, using crystals, music, and scents.
Deborah Kagan’s book comes with links to her website, You Tube, and workshop information on her Rock Your Mojo programs. She’s been doing what she does for many years and is an advocate for women who experience violence.
I want to thank NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced readers’ copy. Best wishes to the author.
