Star Bringer was a fast paced romantic Sci-Fi that was so much fun! It felt like a mash up of certain elements from Guardians of the Galaxy + The 100 + The Breakfast Club and a little bit of The Bourne Identity, so I was obsessed! And by just that first chapter I was sucked in. These seven characters were thrown together and were the most unlikely of allies. It was just asking for disaster! It made this story steamy, heartfelt and filled with all the action. Laced with lies, death, secrets, betrayal, friendship and love, this high staked book was impossible to put down!

As crews go, we’re a goddamn disaster. A princess, a priestess, a bodyguard, a prisoner, a con artist, a goofball, and me, self-appointed asshole in charge of them all.

Kalinda: Crown Princess of the Nine Planets

If anyone had told me a month ago that I’d be sitting at a bar on Glacea while the only person I’ve ever kissed casually stabs a stranger, I would have laughed them out of the palace. But here we are.

Kali was one of my favorite characters. Her thoughts cracked me up and I loved her sarcasm. Yet even though she was level headed, she had been raised so naïve and sheltered. She hadn’t been aware of what was truly going on in the planets around her, or their galaxy. So as she found herself in the middle of an adventure of a lifetime, she not only got a huge wake up call, but she grew so much from the beginning of this story to the end!

Ian: Mercenary and Smuggler and (Very) Occasional Good Guy

He smirks. “Princess Kalinda, the martyr . Not sure the look suits you. Besides, I’ve always been a sucker for a damsel in distress.”
“No, you haven’t!” I tell him, and the desperation is growing inside me. Because time is running out.
“Okay, you’re right, I haven’t.” He blasts some more laser fire in their direction, then looks at me, his expression serious for once.

Ian was right up there with favorite character! His thoughts made me fall so hard for him. And I loved that he was attracted to the Princess from the get go, but that he hated all that she stood for. But Ian was a secretive soul and he held a lot of his cards close to his chest. All I really knew about him in the beginning was that he desperately needed to save Milla. We just didn’t know the why. As the story unfolded we saw that Ian was heroic, brave, cynical and selfless – even though he would deny this to his death haha. Ian was a true book boyfriend that I fell head over heels in love with!

Ian & Kali:

No way. Bad boys are one thing. Homicidal assholes are another.
But then he turns and our eyes meet as he watches me watching him.
Shit. Could I be more obvious?
He raises a brow as if inviting me to engage.

Ian and Kali had the most fabulous of enemies to lovers! Their banter was everything! I loved watching Ian mess with Kali, and Kali throw it back at him. Watching their enemies to lovers relationship transform was my favorite thing about this story! It was real, believable and kept me wondering what was going to happen next. Being put in life and death situations, they had to trust each other. Save each other. And watching that trust, friendship and more build was perfect and left my heart beating faster!

Rain: High Priestess of the Sisterhood of the Light

I feel the stirring of my own rebellion deep inside. The part of me that has lived my life for other people knows I should shove it down and lock it up tight. But the other part… the other part of me wants to take it out for a spin and see where it goes.

Rain was absolutely adorable and oh so sheltered. She had so many expectations put upon her as the High Priestess, so I loved how down to earth she was. How she was a complete disaster the first time she met the Princess. But as we got to learn more about Rain, I loved that she was kind, good hearted and so thoughtful. And she was completely obsessed thinking about kissing Beckett ♥.

Beckett: Newly Escaped Prisoner 826

“Nothing about you could ever be boring, Rain,” she whispers back. Then she sweeps my hair over my shoulder and leans forward to press her mouth against the nape of my neck.

Beckett was a mystery. She kept her cards closer to her chest then even Ian did. She had so much hate towards everything Kali stood for, and seemed to have so much darkness around her because of the physical pain she was constantly in. So she took the longest for me to warm up to and like. Watching Rain make Beckett happy finally gave Beckett the light she desperately needed. Yet I felt like Rain and Becket’s relationship wasn’t as developed as Ian and Kali’s. Theirs felt more physical, like an insta lust. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Rain and Beckett’s relationship will develop more as this trilogy unfolds!

Their World & The Others:

“What is this?” she asks, and now she’s looking around as well.
“I don’t know,” I tell her honestly. “I have no fucking idea. But I’m starting to think we should’ve been more scared of the sentient ship we’ve stolen and what she’s capable of.”

Learning about the different planets, and the political mechanisms to it all was fascinating. But we also got to see the horrors that surrounded them and my mind was blown. Torture. Betrayal. Death. Consequences. All seemed to be wherever you looked in their galaxy.
Also on the ship were Merrick, Gage, and Max. Yet we didn’t get the any of their povs like we do with Beckett, Rain, Ian and Kali. So I’m keeping my lips zipped on them, other then hold on because you’re in for a wild ride! And the same for the ship! I loved the ship in the story almost as much as Kali and Ian! I have sooooo much I want to say, but I can’t wait for you to discover all that is Starlight! She had me clapping, screaming out loud, and cheering her on every step of the way!

Terror rolls through me at the thought of what we’re about to do— and what will happen if we get caught. But some things are worth fighting for. And so are some people.

With perilous action, this story had heart pounding moments that were epic and others that were impossible not to have tears when reading! And while there were happy moments, death still loomed over all of their heads. After finishing this book, I went back and re-read certain scenes and the foreshadowing! Ohhhhh, it was so subtly there! This story was definitely like a puzzle, but you have to look for the pieces since not all of them show themselves to you! Now I am patiently waiting for that next book. While I am nervous about how something will pan out, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I love how it unfolds. And I can;t wait to see what happens next!

This is my first syfy story and I fall in love from the first chapter. Full of mystery and action, because each chapter It has a different POV , you can’t imagine what’s is going to happen next. 7 complete different people in the same spaceship living together for the circumstance or I call it destiny. Falling in love making friendships, hate and learn to trust each other at the same time they trying to survive and find the way to save the universe. DEFINITELY A STORY OUT OF THIS WORLD! Tracy Wolff always tries to
get her readers to
immerse themselves in
her stories and this is no exception. And I like Nina Croft collaboration I'm look forward to read more of her work. I recommend
100%. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m giving it about 3 1/2 stars right now. It was at the end it felt rushed and became a little confusing…it was great at the beginning, funny. Wise cracking and etc but at the end it kind of dragged on. I’ll wait to read the next book to be able to give my complete opinion.

Thank you Entangled and Netgalley for this eArc. As usual this is my own opinion on this novel.

Star Bringer was hard to rate for me, until the end. I loved the plot of this book, but there were aspects that I didn’t like as well. Overall, I think it’s a 4.25 Stars and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. And that cliffhanger at the end, I’m struggling to come up with words to review this book.

I spent a majority of the book trying to figure out how this storyline was going to play out and what the goal of the series was going to be. I cannot express how much the end threw me for a loop, but I’m honestly surprised. I didn’t see the twist and the cliffhanger coming.

The spice was good. It was light enough that it wasn’t pertinent to the story and could be skipped if you’re not into that sort of thing, but also detailed enough that a spice lover enjoys it. And the sapphic relationship was good as well!

The multiple POVs was a lot to juggle at first, but you got used to it quickly. I think if it had been written in third person, it might have been easier to keep up at the beginning but I enjoy a good multi POV.

The audiobook was done well. The first file wasn’t edited well, but after the error was fixed, I enjoyed the narration.

I found the writing to be super casual, which I didn’t quite enjoy as much, but it made this book very accessible for new readers to a Sci-fi/Fantasy romance book. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone wanting to dip their toes in this genre (despite the size, which may be off putting to a new reader). I also wasn’t a fan of the way the insta-love was written but did enjoy the couplings.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and my dislikes didn’t stop me from enjoying it. It’s like a dystopian Guardians of the Galaxy. I will be needing the second book immediately.

Star Bringer by Tracy Wolff and Nina Croft is a wonderful adult scify adventure aptly described as breakfast club meets fire fly . These two authors have seamlessly blended their writing styles to create a cohesive and immersive story . This adventure’s greatest strength and weakness is found in its multi pov structure which impressively gives each main character a distinctive and fully developed voice but also switches points of view at a dizzying pace . The main premise of a solar system on the brink of demise immediately drew me in and the characters personal arcs kept me hooked . Fans of the found family trope and of quest arcs that feel like the hobbit in space are in for a good time .

I loved this book! It was entertaining as hell with all of the twists and turns trying to see our main characters try to save the solar system. The characters were great. This had amazing romances, drama, and more. It truly was like The Breakfast Club meets Firefly!

My attention span def needed help in the beginning of the book. I don’t read sci-fi much, so my brain is trying to comprehend things, but once I got into it, I really enjoyed it. It sucked me in, and it was truly such a good read. It’s a great book to lose yourself in for a day.

The writing was really spectacular. It was charismatic. I loved the whole lingo such as the “hot steaming drokaray droppings”. Fun!

I already cannot wait to reread this one.

Tracy Wolff and Nina Croft have reignited my love of sci-fi. Star Bringer is 'The Breakfast Club' in a space setting and I couldn't get enough! Seven misfits, one spaceship, and everyone seems to be against them. But even with their backs against the wall, readers will enjoy the action, drama, romance, and banter!

When I first started reading the book, I was hooked. I loved the multiple POV's and it was easy to get wrapped up in each character's story. My favorites off the bat have to be Kali and Ian. They are total opposites, but the chemistry is fiery. And soon, the rest of the group became my favorites too. It all started because of an attack that led Princess Kali and six others who flee and found their way on a spaceship called Starlight. Everyone on board doesn't get along, but they have to if they want to survive.

After deciding to follow Ian's leadership, everyone seems to find their role on board. Sure there are fights and arguments, but amid the anger, the truth and secret are starting to emerge. So much of their lives have been built on lies and they are trying to figure out fact from fiction. I understand how delicate the subject is because how would you not believe the closest people in your life? But once everyone, especially Kali and Beckett, starts to realize that they don't have to become their mothers/parents it's easier to decipher the lies.

Although this book is a long one, with 100 chapters, I felt like I never wanted it to end. The character developments were out of this world, and seeing the bonds everyone created put a smile on my face. This does end on a cliffhanger, so be prepared to need book 2 like yesterday. There are lots of shocking moments as well and to say that I was on the edge of my seat the entire time would be an understatement. I will end by saying that Star Bringer was one of my favorite reads of the year!

Holy hell, this was a good book. On the tail end of @tracywolffbooks finishing her Crave series, this was a refreshing new side of her that I really enjoyed. I’m not a huge fan of sci-fi, but this was more a tale of a found family, set in space.

I love everything about this book. The made up places, animals and society. The characters and all their quirks. The plot. It is everything.

The last 20 chapters of this book had my jaw dropping and me begging for Tracy to stop hurting me. Well worth it though. I will not rest until I find out what happens next though!!!

Amazing job, Tracy and @ninacroft_writer and thank you @redtowerbooks for letting me read this early!

Prepare for sci-fi themed activities in this multiple POV, enemies to lovers, galactic adventure with mysterious twists while searching for solutions to problems back home. Intricately detailed world building primarily centered around a political regime. Well developed characters who show growth throughout. Contains spice and diverse characters/relationships.

Filled with wit, banter, angst, and romance sprinkled in as well.

"Terror rolls through me at the thought of what we're about to do - and what will happen if we get caught. But some things are worth fighting for. And so are some people."

"Now I know the universe has turned upside down."

Star Bringer by Tracy Wolff and Nina Croft is a journey of self-discovery and adventure. This merry band of misfits have one unfortunate turn after another that reminds the reader about two famous pop culture icons, Firefly and The Breakfast Club. With this book, you will not only find out and empathize with these characters, but readers have reported that they experience a journey of self-discovery as they read about this world. Authors have different styles that makes their books distinctige. Despite this book is being written by two authors, their styles are seamless and come together brilliantly. Two voices come together as one to tell the tale of a futuristic society where one should be wary on who to trust along the way. This sci-fi fantasy book is a must-read! If you love to cheer for the underdog, grab this book today and go on an adventure with the merry band of misfits in space.

Reading the story the book has possibilities of a good story. The action scenes are entertaining. The characters all nine of them are intriguing to the plot. The book is a page turner for readers of sci- fi. The dialogue I have to say though is more towards late teen early twenties language. This is one of things that was hard for me to be engaged with the book. I continued reading the book. I think the book was an alright read. I received a copy of this book for a voluntary honest review.

When I first heard The Breakfast Club meets Firefly I thought how on earth would that work, and now I know.

We see everything from an assassination attempt, the potential for the ultimate betrayal, a cliffhanger that had me staring at my Kindle angrily wishing I had just one more chapter and then some.

Now after reading the Crave series, I know Tracy Wolff loves a cliffhanger but she and her counterpart Nina Croft have taken it to a new level, not only is it completely unexpected it's something that ties so much together while being something that was seamlessly added in the last few pages.

This book made me think about relationships, how hard it can be to get along with the people around you, how much pressure you can be under to please your parents, or even how love or something like it can send you to the stars.

I can't wait to see what happens next for our rag-tag group of space travelers, I'm deliberately not saying a lot about the story, I think it's more fun than just reading people's reactions.

I do have to say that the first 3/4 of the book went a little long for me, I wish we had gotten to a couple of the reveals earlier than we did but that's my issue, I like knowing what's going on from the very beginning and just going with it.

This is a solid 4.5-star book for me but I'll be rounding it up for review purposes. Thank you to Red Tower Books for providing an advance copy of this ebook, I have voluntarily read and reviewed it and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I am in Love with this book, if you're a fan of the Illuminae files, Aurora Rising, Or Skyward you're going to love this!. We have unlikely heros, found family, romance, and a bad of absolute misfits. . This book is fast paced, full of space and action and I am in Love! The character, the background, the world building it was amazing. Baby wait for everyone to read it

This has been compared to Firefly and the Breakfast club, which is pretty accurate! Think of a rag tag group of teens that don’t necessarily like or trust each other, from ALL walks of life being stuck on a spaceship together. I loved the world building and all the people from various planets. The spaceship itself was so so cool (I really want one)! Kali was a little one dimensional for me but overall grows as a character. Rain and Beckett were my favorite overall! I loved all their adventures (and misadventures) in their plight to save the mysterious Milla and the universe itself! Highly recommend to anyone who love YA Sci-fi with the ragtag found family, princess who learns to not be entitled, and insta love tropes!

A book described as Firefly meets Breakfast Club sounds like the dream. And I definitely see the inspiration, but unfortunately this book gets off to a stuttering start, which is a pity as I really wanted to love it seeing the praise others are giving it as the book to get you over a Fourth Wing hangover.

What didn't work for me were the POVs. I'm a firm believer that Sci-Fi and Fantasy are typically best served with multiple POVs because it allows readers more insight into the new universe and its ways of working. So I was glad to see this book had multiple POVs, but disappointed that for the most part, the characters are always together so they describe the same scenes with no new insights. And then they're so secretive, you really don't get any personal details from these POVs for the first 70% of the book except that the characters are attracted to each other.

I also found the story guilty of a lot of repetition and over explanation. E.g. "'That's not a good idea, Kali.' Ian looked worried." Well, yeah, that worry already seemed clear from what Ian said...

When the book does start revealing more about why the characters hid certain things and actually shows insights into their motivations, I do get hooked and I am actually optimistic for the sequel. The last 30% is fast-paced and has some great altercations, reveals and sequel set ups.

An ensemble cast of characters are thrown together on a sentient star ship left over from an ancient culture and have to start running for their lives. Princess Kalinda is told she is needed to save their solar system, but it seems that every faction in the system is willing to kill her and her companions regardless.

I think the comparisons to the vibes of Firefly are quite appropriate and loved the way these enemies became friends and family (and some became lovers). I adore the ship and its crazy shenanigans. Several times my heart broke for what the characters had or were going through. I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens now.

This book took me on a ride through space and had me wonder struck the whole way! The way two authors came together to create a seamless and stellar book is nothing short of amazing! Star Bringer definitely gives off firefly and breakfast club vibe, but it gives off GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY even more! The characters, the atmosphere, the cliff hanger at the end…. Chefs kiss!💜✨

When there’s a bombing on the space station and you do whatever it takes to make it out alive….you end up with a princess, priestess, con artist, warrior, prisoner, mercenary and a scoundrel all on one old ship. Well they think it’s just an old ship - it might be so much more - just like this group. Kali is on her first official trip from her mother the empress, but it’s not going so well and she’s finding out more about the empire than she’s been led to believe. Plus she might have to thank an annoying handsome rogue captain for saving her life. Kali our resident princess isn’t the only one on the ship having revelations about their place in the world and their friends/family. The rag tag crew makes this story memorable and so hard to put down!

Star Bringer gave me all the snarky, action and adventure vibes of Firefly along the drama and romance we all wanted if the show continued. The book gives us multiple povs (which I loved) so we got to explore and learn a bit about each of the characters. I am hoping in future books that we can dive into some other characters as well.

Get this book now! It’s amazing!

This was another fantastic book by the most wonderful Tracy Wolff. Reading this book was an out of this world experience that took you for quite the adventure. I’m not one to usually read sci-fi books, but I’m more than happy to have had an opportunity to read this one. All the characters were phenomenal and I felt like I knew them personally. I genuinely felt like I was living this tale with the characters in this story. If there is a sequel, I will be head over heels to read it and see how the characters grow in a new chapter of their story!
