Always a good read from this author. Enjoyed from start to finish. A wonderful host of characters especially the main being a female lead.

Four Weddings and a Christmas is the first novel I’ve read from Ms. Ashley, and even though I devoured her latest offering in the heat of summer, it certainly got me in the Xmas mood. Her main characters pushed all my emotional buttons whilst I learned why they’d fallen apart years back. And I loved the village setting in one of the most beautiful districts of North West England, where its small-town folk are in everyone’s business. But what I liked even more was how the author wove family influence into Freya and Travis’ story, developing a sense of meaning behind their pasts.

Against all odds, Travis has made a name for himself as a nature photographer but is now ready to settle down. Freya, who has also done very well for herself, is energetic, runs her company enthusiastically, and is a friend you’d like to have around when things go haywire. It’s a question of precision timing and coincidences that they reacquaint; however, Freya hasn’t been lucky in love and is wary about being swept off her feet again. And I can’t leave Travis out because he’s had his share of knocks. However, signs give the reader expectations that they might be able to get their second chance regardless of what had occurred.

I thoroughly enjoyed getting into Travis and Freya’s thoughts. He’s a real charmer, steadfast, and gorgeous to boot. She was, for me, the definition of an English rose. The secondary character development was spot on, and there was just the right amount of low-key angst in a well-constructed plot to keep me engaged. I worried about Travis’ brother and took to Freya’s sassy mum–I loved her online skills but didn’t care much for one of her daughter’s ex-flames. Despite finding the story a tad predictable, the one-liners and snappy comebacks had me laughing out loud. This cuddle-up-to, feel-good seasonal romance entertained me, and I will certainly be exploring more of Ashley’s writing. Bravo!

Return to Banner dale in the Lake District and their own version of the runaway bride. Freya and Travis have history and the attraction is still there.. Is it going to go the distance this time or is it just a fling?
Follow the family dramas and enjoy the book.

A hugely enjoyable Christmas novel from Phillipa Ashley, although the four weddings or Christmas are not an integral part of the story. Freya and Travis are likeable and I very much enjoyed their story.

I loved the Freya’s mum with the blogging and outfits .The descriptions at times were amazing . Capturing the photo of the red squirrel was perfect. Lots of nice twists and a perfect ending. You just get lost in the book. . I am not writing the plot it is just a lovely love story with family playing a big part. Read it

I love Phillipa Ashley so I couldn’t wait to start this book which is all about Freya and her ex boyfriend Travis and it did not disappoint.

I loved the beginning of the book which goes back to when they were both children and I thought this was a lovely start.

The story is based in the Lake District and all the characters were lovely apart from a few (no spoilers) and I especially loved Seb.

A great Christmas Romance filled with family, friends, love and a solid five stars.

Ah... you’ve got to love a Christmas story (even though I read this in August! Thanks to Netgalley). Interesting characters and development with a lovely story. Freya and Travis went to school together and have a romantic history that stopped when she didn’t leave her town with him. Now that he’s back, will their relationship be rekindled or is there too much water under the bridge?
A lovely story of growing up, getting wiser, living your life and overcoming past mistakes and fears.

This is an easy, gentle read which can be enjoyed at any time of the year despite having Christmas in the title - definitely a plus! It is set in the Lake District and centres mainly around Freya, who runs a holiday let business called 'Cottage Angels'. It.is a 'will they, won't they' romance read and I really enjoyed reading it.

Another great read from Phillipa Ashley, based in the lakes this time!
Travis and Freya have grown up together, been romantically involved, separated and lost touch over the years
Travis now a successful photographer has come home to be nearer his family and open up a gallery to showcase his photography and coincidentally is renting a cottage that Freya manages!
Freya a successful business women has never been lucky in love and is wary of getting romantically involved with anyone!
Travis reappearing looking gorgeous, sexy and totally attractive rekindles Freya’s interest, but the path of true love never runs smoothly as Travis and Freya find out as they rekindle their friendship.
A beautiful festive love story
Thank you NetGalley for this early read.

I absolutely adore Phillipa Ashley, particularly her Christmas novels so was super excited when this landed in my inbox.

I loved the community feel, the heart-warming story line and the descriptions of the stunning Lake District setting.

This isn't one of my favourites by Phillipa Ashely unfortunately - it wasn't as festive as her previous Christmas books, I didn't fall in love with the characters as much as I usually do partly due to some of the plot lines feeling very OTT. I feel like it would benefit from a further edit - we were told twice in the first chapter that Kirsten decorates the cottages for Christmas and some of the speech seemed slightly jarring.

Definitely worth a read.
