Her Enemy by Emma Tallon is the sixth book in the brilliant The Drew Family Series and I have loved this series from the very first book called Her Revenge. This series is totally unputdownable and a gripping gangland crime thriller that will have you gripped from the very first few pages especially as it's full of twists and turns, with great characters and great story lines about a family called The Drews. The main characters are Scarlet, Aunt Lilly and her two sons.
It's now a year of anniversary of Ruby’s death, and the Drew family are still trying to get over her death. Scarlet Drew has never backed down and she will never back down, even as she receives an
anonymous letter that is delivered to her house telling her they know what really happened the night her cousin Ruby died. Scarlet’s heart races and she starts to panic!

Who saw what happened on that night Ruby died?

and How? Scarlet thought she was all alone just her and Ruby!?

It's a secret she has kept guarded from the rest of her notorious family, and for good reason. If they ever found out it would be the last of Scarlet and her family!!!!

But Who saw her?

WoW, This book was so good I found it hard to put it down!

Emma Tallon's books have all been a 5 star read and this one was no different. It was Superb!

Looking forward for the next book within this series and I highly recommend all of these books.

Thanks to bookoture and netgalley for this arc. An excellent addition to the drew family series.. As always there is lots going on, scarlet gets a surprise visitor, but who could it be???? The family are planning their next job which involves a very rich older lady.. can they pull it off? I was on the edge of my seat, i kept saying " just one more chapter" before i knew it, i had finished it. I love the characters, how they gel as a family. Hard people with soft hearts, highly recommend

Another brilliant book in this addictive gangland crime series.
It was great to catch up with the Drew family and as usual there’s more than a few problems for them to deal with.
Scarlet receives a note saying that someone knows what happened ‘that night’ and is terrified that Lily and her cousins will find out she was there the night that Ruby died.
Lily, Cillian and Connor notice that Scarlet is preoccupied but it’s not until Connor starts following her, that they get close.
Cillian has his hands full trying to sweet talk a woman in order to pull off a theft and Billie is far from happy about it.
There’s a few surprises in store in this book and it’s another gripping read that I’d highly recommend.
I can’t wait to find out what’s next for the Drew family.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Her Enemy’ book 6 of the Drew Family series written by Emma Tallon, in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

It’s the first anniversary since Ruby died when Scarlet receives an unsigned note saying they know what she did to her cousin. Scarlet knows she didn’t kill Ruby, in fact her cousin was trying to kill her, and as the only people present when Ruby fell into the oil tank were herself and Chain, Scarlet doesn’t know who’s trying to blackmail her. Added to this, the job Scarlet’s organised involving Tabitha Grey’s art collection isn’t going to plan and Cillian is angry with her for taking her eye off the ball.

‘Her Enemy’ is the latest in the series of the Drews, a feared London’s gangland family run by Scarlet’s aunt Lily and her cousins Cillian and Connor. Only Scarlet knows what happened the night Ruby died and as she’s kept the secret for so long it’s impossible for her to tell the family the truth without them hating her. The plot is well thought-out with drama, suspense, intrigue and twists and turns and I’ve been gripped from page one by this gritty and heart-stopping thriller. As there appears to be changes afoot in the Drew family I’m very much looking forward to reading book 7.

I absolutely love the Drew series every book has been fast paced, exciting, a rollercoaster of crime and an insight to life on the wrong side of the law, and Her enemy was no different. I enjoyed every single word I read of it.

Scarlet thinks she has put the recent events of her cousin Rubys death behind her, and although she is keeping a secret of that nights events from her family it’s been over a year since Ruby died and the police wrote it off as an accident. But one morning when Scarlet heads to her car she sees a rolled up note on her windscreen. Someone claiming they know exactly what happened the night Ruby died, and they are determined to bring scarlet down unless she gives them exactly what they want.

Scarlet knows she has to find out who is behind the blackmailing and tries to handle the situation on her own as well as staying focused on one of the biggest crime jobs her family has ever taken on. In scarlets line of work being distracted and not on the ball isn’t an option. For scarlet it’s a race against time to find out who is behind these notes as if her family find out she was there or had any part in her cousins death she knows she will end up paying with her life.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for an advance copy of this book in exchange for this review. As said above this is a brilliant series, all of these books could be read as a stand alone but if definitely recommend going back to the first book as you will get so much more enjoyment out of them if you read the series right from the start.

Another brilliant read from Emma. Scarlet is struggling after losing John from her life and the death of her cousin Ruby. After receiving an anonymous letter her mind is definitely not on the job and the rest of the family start to notice. Aunt Lily isn’t impressed and has a go at her making her feel even worse. If that’s not enough Scarlet is convinced someone is following her too. With her life falling apart will Scarlet be able to get her head back in the game. Lots of twists in an unputdownable read.

Her Enemy is book six in the additive series.
It is the years anniversary of Ruby’s death, and the Drew family are still trying to get over her death. But if the family knew Scarlett’s part in it, the family would disown her, and Cillian would definitely kill her. So, when Scarlet receives a note saying that they know what she did the night Ruby died. Scarlett thinks that her whole world is about to come crashing down. Who is trying to blackmail her and what do they want out of it.
Ms Tallon has done it again with ‘Her Enemy’. This is another riveting read regarding the Drew family and their exploits. Which I loved with it twists ant turns. I couldn’t put this down. I would advise that this isn’t read as a standalone as there are references to the last book at the start of the book. But I enjoyed this immensely. I can’t wait for the next book. 5 stars from me.

This is book 6 in The Drew Family series. I have not read any of the previous books which I think made me feel a bit lost while reading Her Enemy. I did enjoy reading Her Enemy but am now anxious to read the previous books.
With that said, the characters seem well developed.
The gang-crime aspect was a new one to me as I haven’t read many books with this type of plot.
Her Enemy definitely takes you on a intriguing ride!
Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Fans of the Emma Tallon’s Drew Series have been waiting patiently (or not) for the sixth installment in the fascinating series, Her Enemy, where it is the one-year anniversary of discovering Ruby’s body and a trip to the cemetery, as well as Scarlet messing up on planning a job that puts Cillian on the spot and having to carry out a heist due to a rich snob falling for him and snubbing Scarlet who was supposed to be in charge. To make matters worse, Scarlet receives messages from someone who is trying to blackmail her insisting that they have video of her murdering her cousin, Ruby. Although Scarlet knows she didn’t murder Ruby and that Ruby actually had tried to murder her, she can’t figure out who could know anything about the death of Ruby since it was only Ruby, Scarlet, and Chain. Scarlet is under a lot of pressure, and Lily and the twins notice, which causes conflict. It seems there is no way out for Scarlet and she thinks she is going to have to go away for good.

Tallon has a talent for weaving a believable tale that has plenty of ups and downs, as well as scenarios that it seems there is no way out. However, readers will find that somehow the Drews find ways to solve their problems – not legally, of course – but the way of the London underground. The story is believable, and because most readers aren’t connected with the London underground and don’t know how it really works, it seems viable. Although readers of the series have a good idea about the characters, each subsequent novel develops the characters even more. Even though they are in an illegal business, they are loved and readers will want them to come out ahead.

All told, this is another excellent novel. It is recommended that readers start with the first installment and read them through, although this would still be good on its own.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

I am big fan of this Author and love this series. Scarlet has now got a new boyfriend. But what happened to her cousin is a shadow hanging over her. Someone knows what she did, and she needs to find out who. Her one twin cousin no longer trusts her, and they are planning a big heist. And someone wants revenge so recommend this series.

Love this series, characters, storylines, authors writing and delivery and for me it is a pretty perfect day of reading when a new addition arrives
So we are in Book 6, the favourites are back and I think I have said before it is like reuniting with good friends the minute I start the first chapter, I’m old 😎 and my memory can sometimes forget a main characters name as soon as finish a book but with this family I am back with them instantly….and ready for the new adventure….and as always what an adventure we went on
I cant say much more about it tbh other than it’s pure enjoyment reading, flawless imo…..roll on Book 7
It was interesting to read the authors notes at the end of the book and how she struggled with this book, I want to reassure her it was as captivating as always

This is book 6 in the Drew family series. This is a series which I have found to be captivating and enjoyed reading from the start. If gang – crime interests you, this is one series you must read!

It is a year since Ruby’s death, and her brothers Cillian & Connor, mother Lily, cousin Scarlet and Scarlet’s mother Cath are all trying to move on. The family is planning a heist and a rich lady – Tabitha Grey is the target. At the same time, another gang led by Mani Ramano is out to get the Drew family. Scarlet gets some notes indicating that unless she pays, the secrets she has kept from the family will be told to them. If this happens, Scarlet fears she may have to run. Scarlet is dating Benny, after John moves away from the city, because of Ruby’s doings, as she tries to get at Scarlet. Ray has some suggestions for the family, which Lily resists.

As has been the case in the previous books, this one introduces plot elements based on previous happenings (Ruby’s death) as well as new ones (planned heist, gang rivalry) and a hint of a new sub-plot for the next book (based on Ray’s suggestion for the gang). Of these sub-plots, two are resolved in the book and you can expect the remaining one to resolve as well the suggested one to develop in the next book. I initially thought this might be the last book in the series, but clearly there has to be at least one more. I liked how this book introduces some ambitious options for Cillian and Connor. This is probably the only book in the series, where they share equal prominence to Scarlet. I felt some of the plot elements could have been better. But with well-developed characters and excellent writing, this is a great new book in the series. There are a few incidents with bad violence.

My rating: 4.5 / 5.

Plenty of strong chapters to keep you going leaving you hungry for the next book seven.

It was that time of the year again: me being able to read a book by this fantastic author. Even before I open the book, I know I will be in for a treat. Each and everything she delivers top-notch gangland stories that are finger licking good!

If you like strong characters who don't shy away from a bit of violence, a pack of lies and betrayal, than you should run to your bookstore and buy the book or even better the whole series, because you will be hooked, just as I am.

Don't get me wrong. Gangland is not all about bad things and criminals. Oh no, no, no, no. There is strong family love and you can take the word family in it's broadest form. Once you are part of the family, they will close ranks and protect them all.

I sometimes wonder how many times a reader's heart can be broken reading 1 book? Well, the author made me gasp more than once.c

If I have to pick a favorite character in this story, it has to be Connor without a doubt.

After having read one of this author's books, I always have to take a few hours break before I can start a next book because the stories are always so intense. I love them and the countdown has started again. I hope to meet you again soon, Drew family. 5 of the biggest possible stars.

Thank you

An excellent gangster thriller, the latest in the Drew family saga and a very addictive read. The developing characterisation just draws you in from the first page and it continues right to the twist on the last page. Scarlet is one tough lady and she is up against a blackmailer who is trying to bring her down. There are a few surprising twists and a fast rollercoaster pace which keeps up to the last page. The author has another winner and I highly recommend the series. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC
