I was so pleasantly surprised by the huge variety of recipes and suggestions in this book! Some of the options include batters and some use other products cooked in a waffle iron. I think it was an awesome idea to include care and cleaning instructions for waffle irons, too!
I wasn’t a fan of this cookbook. I had high hopes for really creative ways to use my waffle maker but the vast majority of it is just sandwiches made in a waffle maker instead of a panini press. There are a few other things used for the bread like glazed donuts (filled with cheese and bacon) but they’re mostly incredibly unhealthy concoctions made with processed food. Some of the sandwiches are healthier but again, they’re mostly just endless variations of paninis. The other recipes are just putting other processed food in it, like cinnamon roll dough or canned biscuits.
Do note that this is not a cookbook for chaffles or other keto versions of waffles. I hoped for some but there aren’t any. The one keto recipe was a frittata of sorts but the recipe left out the main ingredient— eggs— so I couldn’t try it.
There were a few times when the waffle maker was used creatively like for hash browns, but then she just had you smash purchased tater tots in it instead of using grated potatoes and making real ones.
No nutritional information is provided and the recipes are not suited for special dietary needs like gluten free. They tend to be very carb heavy, high calorie, heavily processed and low in nutrients.
I tried to find out more about the author but there’s no bio or introduction or web presence I could find, other than three cookbooks coming out this year. I’m sure this book will be a good fit for others but it was a miss for me.
I read a temporary digital copy of this book for review.
