Twisted Palace is the third book of The Royals series and the conclusion to Reed and Ella’s story. Like I’ve said before, this series is addicting and I am so invested in the Royals! We get all of our questions answered regarding Ella and Reed in Twisted Palace. I loved the way Ella stood by Reed’s side and how their relationship grew. It was nice to see the Royals sticking together and being there for each other. I really wasn’t prepared for the twist though! I am sad by it but also happy to finally have the answers to what really happened. I read these three books in about two and a half days because I was so into the story line and couldn’t stop reading! I’m excited to start the third book and learn more about Easton and the rest of the Royals.
I loved twisted palace. Such a rollercoaster of emotions. And finally some answers to some of my questions in this book.
A fantastic finale to a jaw-dropping, on the edge of your seat, heart-pounding series!!! So many secrets were revealed and relationships brought to a stunning conclusion! I cannot recommend this series enough! If you are a fan of all things romance, stories filled with so much angst, and constant pinning, then do yourself a favor and pick this series up. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
I'd like to thank NetGalley and Berkley for supplying me with an egalley of this book to read and give my honest review. All opinions expressed here are my own.
I was very anxious to read this book after the cliffhanger Watt left us with in Broken Prince. I needed to know what would happen to Reed, and how he'd get out of his little "situation." Watt did not disappoint in giving me a show and brining the drama and craziness on full throttle.
The plot for this book revolves around two things: Reed being accused of murder and Steve's return. Throughout the book we watch as Reed's world. crumbles as more and more evidence builds up to make him look guilty. And we also watch as Steve and Ella start to form a relationship and get to know each other as father and daughter. Watt did introduce a few plot lines that went nowhere, which is one of the reasons I lowered my stars on this particular installment. And I found a few plot holes that, while minor and didn't really interfere with the overall story, were just annoying to me.
As with the other books, I really do love Reed and Ella. They are good together. She brings him down a notch from his pedestal and it makes him overall more human, rather than the selfish jerk we thought him to be in the first book. I will say their scenes of kissing (and all the other sexy things they do) are a bit too much. It's every single time they are together. And while I get it they are horny teens who just need to always be touching, it just seemed excessive. Plus the one special scene to me was kind of a let down, in all honesty. After waiting two and a half books, I thought it would be something more. The twins and Easton of course make their appearances. Easton continues to be my favorite. And Gideon is here and there; I can't decide if I like him or want to punch him in his face. Val, Ella's best friend, is awesome. And we get more of a glimpse of Jordan, horrible side or not, and Wade, Reed's whore of a best friend (or is he?). But the big new character in this book is Steve. At first I thought it would be awesome to get to know him. But he honesty just struck me as totally creepy for the entire book. And VERY possessive of a girl he didn't even remember existed. He's all over the place, totally selfish, and just an overall ass. But maybe that is what Watt intended given the ending of the overall story.
The pacing of this one was pretty fast, though didn't grip me as much as the others. I still tore through it fast.
Overall this book seemed like a wrap to the series. But give there are two other books, i'm totally curious what route Watt will take with the story.
Oh my god! What did I just read? Seriously, this was fan-freaking-tastic! I was on the edge of my seat as details were learned and things developed and everything was laid out. I was hanging on every word. I loved it all!
Book three starts right where book two ends and it's crazy and chaotic and intense. I loved the drama, the twists and the turns. I loved the different conflicts and stressors that were happening and the build of everything as it all played out. It was so exciting to read!
Reed and Ella are complicated characters and I loved watching them navigate their relationship through the different dramas that were happening. I loved their growth and connection. So much love, lust, and teen angst.
I had so many questions going in, so many theories, and I am beyond thrilled with the answers I got and the conclusions to the story. I loved watching all the details unfold. The manipulation, the sneaking around, the angst. Holy goodness with the angst. It was at an all-time high. I thought I was going to explode! All the Royals ended up being so endearing to me and as crazy as their privileged lifestyle is, I really felt for them and I love how it all played out.
I loved the development, pace, and the amazing build the story had. There were so many awesome details and things happening that elicited so much emotion out of me. The writing was just so fantastic and I loved the storyline. The author completely captivated me!
That ending! Holy awesome! I was on the edge of my seat, my heart beating a mile a minute with all the drama and emotion, it was intense. It was the best! It was such an exciting ending, I gasped, yelled, and cheered (and was totally glad no one was home to witness me going crazy over it).
It’s official, I’ve been ruined by the Royals! Fantastic story. Fantastic series. A must-read! I can't remember the last time I've been this consumed. Brilliant!
