This quirky rom-com follows heiress Lexi North and blue-collar mechanic Evan Bailey. Their worlds collide and they end up betting to swap lives for two months. The two characters have some challenges to deal with and cute chemistry as they navigate the "new lives".

I'm didn't have high expectations for this one as I started to read - neither character truly seemed likable. Lexi was bratty and spoiled while Evan was gruff. Their character arcs did make me like them by the end of the book, but it took a while to get there to see the personal growth. The snarky, funny banter was one of the main redeeming qualities that kept me reading.

Rich Girl, Poor Guy
Light-hearted Rom-Com
Opposites Attract
Dual POV
Funny Banter
Slow Burn
Very quick read

I found this to be very predictable. It was okay and took me awhile to get into it. I was waiting for a big twist, but it never happened

Fairly fast-paced romcom. I take enjoyed Lexie's character development, and for the most part, I liked her for Evan. I did feel she was pretty harsh on him, though, about him changing into the type of person she used to be. I also didn't like his reaction when she told him her feelings. Basically, it's quite a bit of a lack of communicating which always irks me. I also felt like there were so many opportunities to have more depth and more sincere emotional moments, but they just never happened. I get that Cece is a child, but her attitude was pretty horrible at one point, and I really wish Evan had called her out on it and then had a discussion. The ending could have been a little more as well to help wrap things up further, but maybe she is planning a second book? It's a cute romcom with an interesting premise that wasn't too far-fetched. Give it a go, maybe you'll like it more than I did!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Rich girl…poor guy…very predictable. Yes, it was cute but could’ve been better. It took me a little while to like the characters.

Thank you netgalley.

I really wanted to get to this one, as it seemed interesting. The downfall was that I requested so many ARCs that I could not get to all of them before the book was archived. If I can find this somewhere for a reasonable price, I will try to get it!

This was a super cute read! I love the swapping lives trope and the grumpy sunshine was a fun added bonus. If you're looking for a cute read I would totally recommend this.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this arc in exchange for an honest review.

IT WAS SO FUN. I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW FUN THIS READ WAS, THEY HAVE TO LIVE IN EACH OTHERS LIVES AND IT'S WAS SO FUN BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T THINK THEY WOULD FALL IN LOVE AND THEY DID.

BEAUTIFUL.

This was a really fun opposites attract, slow burn, dual POV, romance that has socialite, Lexi making a deal to swap lives with single parent/guardian mechanic, Evan in order to prove a point. I loved this fish out of water, Schitt's creek style romcom. It was both funny and relatable and great on audio narrated by Connor Crais and Monica King. My first book by Emily Duvall and definitely not my last. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

This book was really good once I got into it. The FMC was hard to stomach at first, but it made her more realistic in the end. I would definitely recommend!

I'm pretty new to the grumpy sunshine trope but man is it adorable. I really enjoyed this one. I love the princess and the pauper like stories, being the pauper 😅. Evans change was nice and done well. I didn't actually hate Lexi as much as I thought I would. The twist with Cece was completely obvious though. It was an easy call. Also a cat named Bowser? Yes please!

Lexi is an heiress. She's never worked a day in her life, nor does she see any need to. Evan is a mechanic, working paycheck to paycheck and caring for his niece. A traffic accident throws them together, and high tensions somehow lead to a bet. They swap lives, with $100,000 stakes. It's an eye opening experience for them both, but the feelings they begin to develop are even more unexpected. Will these two be able to make it work, or are their lives just too different?

This romance has a pretty wild premise, but it was a fun ride. To start off, Lexi has very few redeeming qualities. She's a spoiled little rich girl with no notion of how the world really works. As the story progresses, she of course grows as a person. She gets her hands dirty, learns how to budget, finds true connection with others, etc. Evan is much easier to connect with from the start. He's just a normal, nice guy. The kind of man who gives up his twenties to take guardianship of his niece. But eventually the wealth starts to change him, leading to a classic conflict. Lexi and Evan go from enemies to lovers in a nice gradual build up. Once they're there, it gets spicy. I got a few laughs and felt the heart at times in this story. A fun read overall, if you can suspend your disbelief and accept Lexi's character at the start, knowing she'll grow.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

2.5

Very surface level romance. Spoiled heiress bets that she can trade lives with a poor mechanic. They learn about eachothets lives and fall for their lives. Honestly didn't feel like they knew much about eachother and just liked their lives. It was an easy read just didn't love any of the characters.

This one isn’t perfect, but the characters did grow on me a little, Lexi was awful in the beginning and Even was awful throughout.. The story is very unbelievable in for me when reading fiction. No way is something like this happening, however did like seeing the couple learn about the others’ world and coming together to become more accepting of each other. I think the romance felt more physical than emotional connection even though they could have connected about their pasts. Those parts were glossed over and just felt rushed overall. It’s okay nothing crazy to write home about but an okay read for me.

Emily Duvall did a good job of capturing the attitudes I think many people stereotypically have towards the rich and famous, and made it into a Hallmark moviesque type of plot line! I enjoyed the book, although predictable at times. There were parts of the story that interested me, and I would have liked to see play out such as CeCe meeting her biological dad/family! I must say it was nice to see the change of heart that Lexi exhibited, and how Emily captured that detail in her writing, along with truly expressing how simple tasks can be overwhelming and hard to navigate on your own when you've never had to complete them previously. I did enjoy this book; however, I didn't find myself desperate to read it whenever I had a free moment.

Heiress and society girl Lexi North is on the fast track to destruction and is in jeopardy of being cut off from her inheritance. Evan Bailey is a blue collar, no frills, mechanic living a simple life while raising his teenage niece. The two meet one night by chance when they are both involved in a minor fender bender. When Lexi goes to the auto shop the next day, her big mouth gets her in trouble when a spat between she and Evan goes viral on social media after being unknowingly recorded by Evan's niece.

A bet is made and the two switch lives with Evan living large in Lexi's pampered life and running her fundraisers while Lexi gets taken down a peg or two living the blue collar life Evan lives. Neither of them is expected to make it in each others lives and the shenanigans that ensue are pretty funny. Both realize that neither of them has it easy and trading places has shown both of them what is truly important in life.

I thought this was a cute idea for a book, however, I really struggled to actually like either of the characters. And I don't mean because of their personalities. I just felt there wasn't quite enough character development, (especially for Lexi) for me to actually feel any sort of attachment to them. Because of this, the book fell a little flat for me. This could be mostly because I am a prolific romance reader and just feel there are so many great romance reads out there. I do think someone who is new to the genre will enjoy this cute story. For me, I just wish there was a bit more to it. For this reason I felt the book was just ok and only received 3 stars.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an advanced reader copy of the E-book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a pretty predictable romance but an enjoyable one. This was nothing special but I still enjoyed it. The author could have created more depth to the characters. It had potential that could have been tidied up more.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and Emily Duvall for providing me with an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

I went full steam ahead with this book at the beginning but thought it got predictable and somewhat dragged out. I enjoyed the romance between Evan and Lexi but was actually more invested in Cece.

Overall, this was an enjoyable book but nothing shockingly exceptional

This was a fun and quick read with cute moments. I feel like the plot was a bit over the top at times and felt myself getting a little eye rolley. This did not stop me from enjoying the majority of the story. By the end of the story I was invested in the characters. I also really enjoyed the enemies to lovers trope. I would recommend this to an audience who is looking for something fast and fun that isnt too deep.

Thank you for an advanced copy!
